Jack Reilly, intrepid photographer, precariously perches on the 72nd floor of the 74-story Bank of Manhattan tower (then the world's tallest building), which was under construction, November 13, 1929. In the distance, the tallest structure is the Woolworth Building.

Woolworth Building, designed by the amazing Cass Gilbert. From 1913 to 1930, it was the tallest building in the world. I wish they still made buildings like this. New York, New York.

Drooling over this $59M penthouse in New York City’s Woolworth building.
Look at all the floors leading up to the rooftop tower.
Beautiful art deco entrance.
Isn’t the lobby going to the elevator beautiful?
Incredible. I wonder if this was just a tower that was made into a home.
Each level is different. This one has wood accents.
But, these are pure white and ultra modern. Look at those spirals.
The closet has doors with locks.
Amazing library.
This floor has games, music, and family room things.
No need for a communal gym, b/c the penthouse has its own.
Check out the pool. The pool is for all the residents. Pretty classy, though.
The view includes the Empire State Building.
The Geo. Washington Bridge that takes you to my house.
And, the Hudson River.

The area around City Hall has changed a lot since this time, the park has been reconfigured a number of times, the large post office at the south end has since been demolished, as was much of Park Row to the east. This postcard is looking south.
