God, I don’t know if I’ve ever held my breath with more anticipation than I just did watching Miranda Otto’s episode of “Who Do You Think You Are?”

Specifically, when you could see the exact moment that her face registered the information that her DNA results didn’t match with the German ancestry she’d researched on her father’s side.

And then she says, “Either my dad is not my dad, or Ron is not my father’s dad.”

…and my GOD did my heart break for her, in that moment. I breathed such a sigh of relief when it was revealed that she was in fact her dad’s biological child, but it was her grandfather with whom she shared no biological DNA. I had a feeling that would be the case, since I doubted her mother would’ve agreed to appear in the show if they were going to expose the fact that she’d had an affair, but still. Watching Miranda realize she is not biologically an “Otto” was devastating. 😭

As I was driving to work this morning...

I was pondering people's behaviour these days. I had truly thought (and believed) that we would come out of the pandemic being kinder and much more empathetic when in actuality, we as a society have become much, much worse. It feels like we are nastier, more demanding, intolerant and incredibly impatient. So weird.

hate when I make a personal post along the lines of "I have a complicated relationship with my gender" and some grown ass adult writes a whole ass essay in the notes lecturing me about how IM wrong because HOW DARE I NOT CONFORM TO THE GENDER BINARY!!
