Okay, so I recently decided to listen to a song I loved as a kid, for nostalgia reasons, and now I’m completely obsessed with these two bands that have broken up and the lead singers of both have said that they will likely never release new music again (it’s Cobra Starship and The All-American Rejects if you were curious), so like, really brain? I get I have ADHD, but why can’t it choose bands that are still together to obsess over?? Has this ever happened to you, you wildly obsess over something that’s discontinued?

Oh my Gods so much. It mostly happens with books or shows (what I obsess over 99% of the time). I don't really obsess over bands.

But like- some of my favorite shows are *old* and have basically dead communities which make it... Really hard to satisfy my fixation lmao.

Best thing you can do is try to pull in similar things and transfer the fixation, or just ride it out. Maybe you can find collabs with the bands and see if the fixation will shift to those they collabed with?

Anyways, good luck with your current fixation, those are wild.
