All the glimpses I've seen of eps 10 & 11 of Jack & Joker make me think my decision to stop at 9 and wait to binge the last three was a wise one. I don't think I'd have coped with War crying and everything being fucked then having to wait for WEEKS for it to be resolved.

I may wait to watch them on Friday - when I'll be in Bangkok baby!

Just another sign to prove how very small hers and Jonathan's social circle really is. They have literally no one other than themselves beyond one employer, now dead, and Lucy, now at death's and undeath's door.

With Jonathan still being ground into a fine paste by trauma, fresh grief, illness, and wrestling with clockwork nightmares, he's holding on by his fingernails. Mina knows she is very much the only support he has and that being his rock is vital if they're to drag themselves through this latest blow. He cannot be her shoulder to lean on when she's keenly aware of how fundamentally gutted he still is by whatever happened to him in those missing months and by losing his mentor within a heartbeat of finally getting home and now being entrusted to steer an entire business on his own.

It's a lot. It's too fucking much, in fact. So Mina bottles her stress--hello Whitby "vacation" 2.0--and saves it for a letter. For Lucy, her only other friend in the world besides Jonathan. And she will never hear from that friend again, because she's busy being murdered and dragged by the throat into Dracula's thrall.

Within a week, the Harkers will discover that the only two people they loved outside themselves are gone. They are alone and hurting and clinging to one another's hand.

Childhood all over again.
