Remember that post about how healthcare workers can’t wear costumes on Halloween bc they might have to do something serious in a silly costume?

I boldly thought to myself, that doesn’t apply to child life because we’re there to normalize the environment for kids and support their coping!

… and then last night I supported a teenage trauma patient in a room full of serious people in scrubs wearing a 3d foam hotdog costume. It was awkward. Oopsies!

In de dichterscommunity zijn we deze maand bezig met een schrijfchallenge. Dit gedicht hoort bij de opdracht: schrijf een gedicht met de exacte datum en tijdstip van je geboorte.

Je moet leven om te kunnen schrijven. Je kunt wel in je ivoren toren romantisch mijmeren over zaken die er niet toe doen, maar daarmee raak je niet. You have to stop and smell the roses. Go touch some grass.

Soms ben ik meer bezig met wat mensen van me vinden, dan met dingen maken die ik goed vind. Ik zit hier nu ook een post te schrijven voor mijn tumblr-blog terwijl ik ook een gedicht had kunnen schrijven, omdat ik denk dat ik moet blijven delen om relevant te blijven.

Maar ik ben ook gewoon niet zoveel aan het leven. Ik ben ruim een maand opgesloten in mijn cocon na het schrijven van een master scriptie, bijna compleet geïsoleerd van de buitenwereld. Wat ik weet van de wereld om me heen, heb ik van social media - en ik ben overwhelmed.

Volgende week ga ik weer aan het werk. Ik verhuis van de ene naar de andere bubbel, namelijk die van Hilversum. Gaat mijn creativiteit er beter van worden? We gaan het zien.

on Friday i did pilates with my best friend and then went thrifting and then we went to a punk show together with my bf and me n bestie went into the pit together for the first time yay
