Hey! Been catching up a little through your latest posts about your Korean adventure :) How are you doing?

hiiii! i'm doing well, how are you???

i haven't posted here as much as i thought i would tbh lol but so far everything is really great. ive been going out and exploring a lot. going to museums, cafes, restaurants, clubbing, etc.

i had the flu for a week and a half that almost took me out lmao bc the weather has been so up and down. it snowed two times since ive been here!! it'll be like 9 degrees one day then 23 the next😭im happy i got to experience a snowy seoul though! it was beautiful.

im not speaking as much korean as i thought i would tbh. literally everyone i meet speaks english fluently😭😭😭😭but im trying my best when i go out!

overall im enjoying my time here a lot. thank you for checking in! i appreciate it! <3

re: belief in a just world

One of the talks (years before the othef one) went in to specifically how it applies to serious illness.

On one hand, the "you don't deserve this", as if anyone else with cancer could have possibly asked for it.

But also, sentiments like "fighting" and "winning" when it comes to terminal or life threatening disease ir depression; As if the people that succumbed to their illness are losers, somehow. As if they should've fought a little harder.

So much of niche skincare products and work people get done has such minuscule returns on investment (cost, time spent using, etc) and would never really be deemed necessary if you stopped spending so much time being 2 inches away from the mirror trying to get the closest look at what is quite frankly just the nature of skin. You’re punishing yourself for the sin of being alive and human. Skin lives and breaths and changes due to hormones, weather, hydration, movement, etc and it’s just like…..at what point will you simply make peace with your face? I’m a skincare girlie through and through but there’s a line where your goalpost has now moved to literal perfection (and it must somehow also be the permanent state of your skin or else you’ve failed again) and it’s not just about health and hydration. This is unattainable and unsustainable and quite frankly just unnecessary.

Just something to consider.
