10 Things I Love About Triage

I am extraordinarily late to this party but I am here to scream about Triage, a show which I started on a whim after a stray comment from @incandescentflower and subsequently finished in two sittings. This drama has been on my list forever (I didn't watch it live because the distribution was wacky) and then it just kept getting overlooked as I fought to keep up with the deluge of Thai BL coming at us at all times. But I am very glad I finally hunted it down and made the time and I would like to tell you why!

Hello Again, Dr. Sammon

I am on record as a Sammon fan. She is one of the best writers working in Thai BL and she has a knack for mystery and suspense. Her narratives are always really well constructed with tight plotting and smart character work, and Triage is no exception. This story feels confident, steady, and complete in a way few Thai BLs do.

The time travel rules are blessedly consistent

Part of what makes the story sing is it's a time travel plot that actually gets the particulars right. In a time loop, the details are everything, and this show understands that. The series of events are consistent, the rules of the time travel mechanics are clearly explained, and when our protagonists learn something new, it always lines up with something we'd gotten hints about before or gives us new context for old information. There are no loose threads in this show.

My boy Tin is going through it

Tin is a fantastic protagonist. He starts the show disillusioned with his work and hilariously grumpy about this time loop situation--he is a busy ER doctor and he does not have time for this--but as he starts to piece together how the loop works he gets more methodical in his approach, and eventually becomes emotionally invested in his mission to save Tol. Tin felt really well-calibrated in that he was smart and he tried all the things you would be shouting at the screen for him to try, but he's still a human being with flaws and insecurities and so he makes mistakes, learns, and has to try again. The show really successfully put us in the frustration with him.

Tol makes for an interesting damsel

Because he's kind of an asshole! Tol is rude and disrespectful when he first meets Tin, he hangs around with some truly awful bullies, he treats Rit like garbage, and he's all around an arrogant dick. Until he isn't. I like the choice to make the focus of our mission such a difficult character, not only because it makes Tin's challenge that much harder, but also because it invites us to consider the reasons why someone might be behaving the way he is and whether they can be redeemed.

This show has everything: action, romance, and agony

It's truly an emotional rollercoaster all the way through, and you can't relax for a moment. The pacing is relentless through most of the show, and even as a bond develops between Tin and Tol and they begin a tentative romance, danger is lurking around every corner. As soon as these boys started making out in episode 9 I knew something awful was coming for me and IT SURE DID.

Jinta, the ultimate frenemy

On that note let's talk about Jinta, my nemesis!! Jinta is some kind of unspecified deity/whimsical god and the one who appears to be responsible for putting Tin and Tol in this loop. Is he trying to help them? Is he trying to torture them? I definitely think it's both! He seems to delight in showing up to taunt Tin as he struggles to figure out how to get through to Tol, and when it's Tol's turn on the merry-go-round he sends him to the darkest timeline for his high stakes final attempt to save Tin just because he can. I love/hate you, sir!

Sing and Gap and the darkest timeline

Speaking of which, can we talk about how appropriate it is that Sing and Gap are a couple only in the darkest timeline? I don't know if people were shipping this for real during the live watch, but I definitely was not and so I started cackling when we got to the worst possible timeline and Sing was suddenly calling Gap his boyfriend. Sammon, you are hilarious and I salute you.

Fantastic side characters

Let's talk about the sides I did love. First of all, aside from his weird aggressive flirting/not flirting thing with Gap, I actually did like Sing's friendship with Tin a lot. I also loved the hospital gang who were around to alternately tease and help Tin, most especially Toy and Fang. Toy is a sweetheart and a gossip who never misses a trick, and Fang is an actual badass who first cracked the case with that evil doctor and saved Tin's life. They are fabulous. Rit was also an excellent character with a lot of complexity and he added some much needed depth to the school storyline (does anyone else think he was basically the proto-DFF Non?). And while Mai and Heart were not my favorite people, I did appreciate that the show gave them a sympathetic portrayal instead of making them evil villains (we had the organ harvesters for that).

That beautiful clocktower

I must give a shoutout to this gorgeous clocktower featured in several important scenes. I got so excited every time it showed up. Fun fact: in the first clocktower scene I was like oh hey I recognize that from gifs, but it can't be that scene because it's too early for a kis--TIN WHAT ARE YOU DOING! (I was right, it was too early for a kiss and Tol was Big Mad but bless you for going for it anyway, Tin).

The romance is balanced and rootable

And on that note, let me give a shoutout to the romance part of this story for actually feeling balanced. This is not an epic swoony love affair, but more a story of two people putting in the time to understand and empathize with each other. Sometimes in these kind of time loop stories the romance can end up feeling very one-sided because one character is holding all the knowledge and all the cards. But in this show we have the neat trick of Tol taking over the loop to try to save Tin in the final arc, which means he got to go through a similar process of getting to know the darkest version of his lover and figuring out how to get through to him. I was delighted by all the events of the long loop playing out again, but this time with Tin being the obstinate one. Tol got a taste of his own medicine and it left me feeling like they were both equally invested in this relationship.

TL;DR: If you haven't watched this yet, you really should! It's a fast binge and a great time with some Thai BL favorites. It's unfortunately still not available for international streaming, but it's very easy to find grey now and it's worth the effort. Go forth!

Name: Neo Bowser City (aka Koopa City in PAL regions)

Debut: Mario Kart 7

Do you ever think of all the weird locations we only ever see in Mario Kart games? Despite being the biggest of all of Mario's spin-off franchises, when you really get down to it, remarkably few Mario Kart courses are actually based on established Mario locations!

It's not none, there's the occasional Donut Plains and Tick-Tock Clock and Airship Fortress, but most of the courses are these weird one-off locations we never see outside the context of that specific racetrack.

But have you ever taken a moment to step back and like, think of the Lore Implications of some of these places?

Like okay! Bowser just owns this whole dang cyberpunk city and we only ever see it in the context of Kart Racing! How messed up is that?!

One day Mario and Friends were looking for new places to race, and Bowser must have said something like "Gwah-hah-hah! I bet you puny punks could NEVER beat me in a race in my cyberpunk metropolis!" and right then and there it was established that Bowser owns a cyberpunk metropolis. Neo Bowser City is a city that exists in the Super Mario World and aside from returning in other Mario Kart games, it hasn't been acknowledged before or since.

Neo Bowser City first appeared in Mario Kart 7, as the third course in the Star Cup. Despite its flashy visuals, it actually doesn't really have a whole lot going on. It's a difficult track with some tight turns made more difficult by the rain making things more slippery, but besides that it doesn't really have any of the Wacky Obstacles that define so many Mario Kart courses.

Then it returned in Mario Kart 8 looking more gorgeous than ever! The bright colors really pop out, and the whole track is just oozing with detail that really emphasizes the scale of this city!

But like, the emphasized scale really only further raises the question of where this exists in the Mario World. Clearly, the fact that Bowser is plastered all over the billboards and the fact it's named "Neo Bowser City" helps us deduce that this city probably belongs to Bowser. Is this located in Bowser's Kingdom? Just how big is Bowser's Kingdom? And why does he own so many separate castles?

Maybe Neo Bowser City exists in the future? Is this a bad timeline? I mean, Mario Kart is allowed to have time-travel shenanigans. There's a Splatoon battle arena and that exists thousands of years in the future so sure, dust off Mario's Time Machine and head to the bad future where Bowser wins. Should've pressed that New Super Mario Bros. big yellow P-Switch!

I asked my friend Mod Chikako for their input and their theory is that Neo Bowser City isn't the future of Mario's world, but of our world. Clearly Bowser just couldn't take Wreck-It-Ralph losing the Oscar vote!

But in that case I guess it's a cooler cyberpunk future than the one we're living in right now. Corporate monopolies that run mass-surveillance with little government intervention due to their extreme wealth giving them extensive political power? No thank you! Neo Bowser City has bright neon colors, and flying cars! If I'm going to live in a dystopia, I want it to be a fun one. The only advertisements I want to see plastered everywhere are ones advertising Bowser!

Boo! That's the bad guy! Thumbs down!

The course returns again in that pitiful mobile game with another redesign, this time letting us see his Coney Island Disco Palace off in the distance. Does Bowser live in his Neo City? Is this worldbuilding we've been missing out on for decades, finally answered by a kart racer? Is this the capital city of Bowser's Kingdom? Am I once again falling victim to my perpetual hubris of overthinking the Mario franchise?

Really, I can't offer too much in terms of wacky fan theories, because I'm still thinking about this location existing in the first place. I'd love to know the Lore and worldbuilding here, but I guess the nature of Mario's canon is that it doesn't need to be over-analyzed. Bowser simply owns a cyberpunk metropolis, we'll only ever see it in the context of kart racing, and maybe that's okay.

Of course, this post wouldn't be complete if I didn't mention Dinohattan from the 1993 Super Mario Bros. Movie, which we've barely talked about on this blog somehow. You see, when the meteor hit, some of the dinosaurs escaped into a parallel timeline where they then evolved into humans, and then they built Dinohattan instead of Manhattan. Get it? Yeah, that movie is all sorts of bonkers. I wouldn't say it's very good, but I kinda love it. I'd recommend checking it out, if only to see a vastly different take on Mario than you'd be used to.

Anyway I bring this up because it's a completely separate instance of a version of Bowser building a large cyberpunk metropolis, and it actually predates Neo Bowser City! Do you think they could be connected? Are Dinohattan and Neo Bowser City one and the same...?

Fixing The Seven & Junior Year/Unquangling the Time Quangle:

We can do this guys! We can make it make sense! Let's go!!

Actually, knowing what we know now about the academic workload of junior year, it makes even more sense that Zelda, Ostentatia and Danielle would want to graduate early to avoid all that

And timeline-wise, a couple tweaks and we can make it work - The summer of the Night Yorb happened, and the Seven are coming back to school in those few days after the Night Yorb has been defeated but before the Bad Kids return, because that journey takes time, and it actually makes sense that the Bad Kids start the year a couple days late

So, the Seven’s first day is Aguefort’s last day, he’s there to receive them and break the news and tell them about the GED, but he’s leaving right after on his journey with Ayda

Then, we change T7 a bit so that it’s only during the first semester and all of them graduate early (so they just don’t happen to catch any of the Bad Kid’s mess at the end of the year, and they’re just far from school for the first semester and that’s okay)

Some wackiness to explain why Aguefort is in T7 finale – Tectonya could have contacted him in the Time Quangle to let him know about the Seven’s success, and he goes back to Elmville for a day specifically to receive them and have them officialy graduate, casting time stop so that he isn’t spotted by anyone at the school (which did happen in canon, it was just for no reason, but this would be an actual good reason!). Why would he do this? Because he’s Arthur fucking Aguefort. He’s just silly like that. And I think we can admit the Seven are his favorite students

Also, in ep 1, Penny thinks there isn’t a student council just because Aguefort’s been lying to her about it because he knows she would be amazing and he doesn’t want anyone at school in a position of power more powerful/capable than him - that's just canon

Finally, I want to add an entire missing, subtle subplot to explain Zelda and Gorgug: after they were reunited at the end of spring break, they were fine and good together; and through more Sophomore Year quests (like in Boys Night) and the summer of the Night Yorb, they have learned their lesson and communicated plenty even when apart. However, once Junior Year starts, and Gorgug is super busy with the multiclassing without an MCAT stuff, and Zelda with the maidens and the GED, they just start not having time to prioritize relationships (pun with the JY downtime stats very much intended) and eventually start realizing they’re drifting apart and going in different directions. Zelda didn’t really have her own arc of difficult family or future stuff in T7 like the rest of the group, which hey, I understand the nature of NPCs, and Brennan wasn’t going to narrate a whole other plotline just for and by himself, but it would be very easy to say that Zelda was dealing with a whole other thing in the background - namely, struggling in her relationship and coming to terms with the idea that it would be for the best to break up with her boyfriend, despite them still caring for each other. Ideally, post T7 ending, somewhere at the end of the first semester of JY (in which yeah, slight canon change, Gorgug and Zelda would have been together in until now, but only in the background, like how they were together in T7), they met up at Basrar’s, just like their first date, and had a talk about how Zelda’s graduated now, and how Gorgug’s really busy and how they don’t know how they really fit into each other’s lives anymore. They’ll always love each other, but amicably break up and part ways, each going on to their own adventures.

And I think that's it! All the inconsistencies between seasons I could find. And I do believe it works like this! Lmk if I forgot anything or if there's any reason this doesn't make sense 👍

I know they're kids movies and there was no set plan for the series besides "be fun and entertaining" but the ice age movies is a fascinating timeline of how media aimed at children changed throughout the years

Like the first two films were surprisingly grounded in it's narrative themes of grief, death and survival, which are almost none existent in the later movies

The first film had a mother of a baby die on screen and later had a sequence of the main character remembering the loss of his own partner and baby , along with the plot of Diego being conflicted between helping a mammoth return a child home and feeding his family of fellow tigers. There's also the fact said baby is a human , so there's a lot of conflict within the animal characters on if returning the baby would be worth the risk , considering the possibility he'll grow up to hunt them regardless

The second film follows up those themes with everyone afraid of how they'll cope with their climate becoming warmer. Manny in particular being afraid he is the last mammoth and feeling a responsibility to be with Ellie to ensure the survival of their species , but Ellie doesn't see herself as a mammoth and thus doesn't feel that sense of responsibility. We get a flashback sequence of her being lost when she was incredibly young and found by possums, thus raised by possums with no mammoth figures growing up, so she's dealing with an identity crisis herself while ensuring her and her brothers survive

Those movies were still for kids and had comedy obviously, but these two stories treated death a lot more seriously whilst the newer films had a different tone all together

The most noticeable example of the tone change between the first and later films is the predator/prey situation. The first movie's plot hinges on the way predator animals (and humans) need to eat meat in order to survive and the moral dilemma that comes with talking animals befriending their natural prey/predator , but by the 5th movie it's treated more as a way to make jokes than something that actually impacts the characters and their relationships. Genuinely how does Diego and other carnivores eat?

The 3rd movie does touch on Diego's situation of being a meat eater living among herbivores and the effects it's having on his physical health, but the movie rather focus on Sid's sudden jump to being a Dino dad and the secret dinosaur world than actually tackling that aspect. Diego's plot line ends up being protrayed as a guy who doesn't know how to cope his best friend having his own family, which is fine, but the film never addresses there were factors that result in Manny and Diego relationship conflict, like the fact Diego is struggling to feed himself

Like, yeah the third film arguably still has survival themes, but Ellie's pregnancy does not hinder her abilities to do anything until she's in labour and even then it's made more so to take jabs at Manny's paranoia. Buck's near death experiences are him gloating about being an extreme survivalist, it's such a stark contrast to the previous two movies

By the 4th and 5th film, the stories were focused more on wacky adventures that borderlines on the realm of fantasy that just happened to have ice age animals involved, with exploration of character's being handled with "kiddy gloves" and relying on tired tropes with increasing modern references thrown in

I know everyone brings up how the first film was a found family story of three dudes helping a baby only to go on giving almost everyone a love interest of the opposite sex, but that's just one element of how these movies changed throughout each installment

There are kid movies and media being made today that do tackle more "depressing" topics, but it seems far more rare compared stuff our generation grew up with

Hi, sorry, I'm the one who asked about Thorn Rose in your other blog. If you can, I'd love to hear a bit more about Thorn Rose and her friends, her cast seemed really fun.

They were an old group of fan characters I made a long time ago so they don't have very deep lore that I can recall or as much ramblings I can really provide compared to my other OCs. And the only one I can REALLY ramble about is Thorn herself since she had the most to her.

BASICALLY Thorn Rose was born in an alternate universe where Maleficent followed a similar story route like the live action film (as well as many other Disney villains having some redemption arcs tied to them). Thorn was created by Maleficent concocting her in a caldron (as I just couldn't imagine her make a child the traditional way, she is too iconic and no one reaches her standards in my eyes)

Thorn Rose is raised in this timeline up to her young adult age and that's when she starts to dabble more with magic. She winds up casting a spell that sucked her up in a portal and tosses her into a universe similar to the one we are more familiar with where all the villains are still villains but the heroes winded up having next gens of their own.

Here, she is a fish out of water because everyone views her to be a monster and danger similar to Maleficent. The rest of her story was her traversing through Disney worlds on a sort of Kingdom Hearts beat and meeting some next gen along the way.

I didn't do much else with the story since I realized I'd have to make more next gen for like...all the Disney couples and I only cared about Hercules, Meg, Tiana, and Naveen...Apple was just made because I think Snow White has a really good and iconic Disney design.

BUT THAT'S ABOUT ALL THAT WAS TO HER

I think if I did touch on her story again, I'd probably scrap the other next gens and just have Thorn Rose going through Disney worlds by herself with maybe a COUPLE or newly made fan characters.

I've also learned between the years of me making Thorn Rose and now that the Disney Fandom tends to ship Hades and Maleficent together and it'd be fun to put him in a sort of wacky father figure situation.

Ranking every Riverdale Season (from worst to best)

7. Season 5

With the exception of the first 3 episodes (which I just consider to be part of 4), this season was just a huge nothingburger disappointment. The idea of a time jump was cool, and it even started out okay. Then it quickly went off the rails and not only fell back into repeat territory but the jump itself was just executed so poorly… I was beyond done with Hiram villain stuff atp. The Mothmen were fine, just nowhere near as good as the Gargoyle King or Black Hood for me. Too many characters are written TOO awfully (especially the queer characters) and sometimes it feels like they tried to cram way too much into it. It just leaves the season feeling bloated and incoherent. Best parts by far were Toni getting a big role and the introduction of Tabitha.

Still, those weren’t enough to save the season imo. Overall S5 felt the least like Riverdale to me & it was lowkey boring a lot, so it gets last place. Boo. 🍅

6. Season 4

I’m actually so serious when I say I really love this season. S5 is probably the only one I dislike, the rest of these can change at the drop of a hat lol.

The main reason I’m putting S4 here is that it was very hit or miss with my enjoyment of the storylines. Jughead’s stuff at Stonewall was okay. Cheryl got another unhinged story when she should’ve been getting therapy, Archie’s story was mind-numbing, The Auteur was creepy and great until it was revealed to be Jellybean (wah-wah-wah). Maybe it has to do with COVID throwing things off, but the whole season was just a little lackluster and disjointed. Also, TICKLE-PORN?????

The tribute to Luke Perry was beautiful tho. Miss him. 💔

5. Season 1

ALRIGHT. Before you pull out those pitchforks, just hear me out. It’s an incredible season, it’s the most well-written, the tone was amazing, and it set everything up perfectly.

But I do think that because it’s only the first season, and because it’s so short, a lot of the dynamics I personally love just don’t exist. Toni isn’t on the show yet. And I feel like part of what made Riverdale stand out, WAS the craziness and the willingness to do literally anything remotely cuckoo, which S1 just didn’t have. I’m just personally very attracted to wackiness of the other seasons. It’s a little overrated.

But again, this still season is INCREDIBLE and I’m still obsessed with its’ vibes.

4. Season 7

Don’t hurt me. 😭

But buckle up, because I have a lot to say here.

I REALLY had such a good time with this season… I mean, the Choni of it all is really want gets me obsessively thinking about this season on a daily basis. The way they were treated in the first half is everything I wished for them back in the earlier seasons. If this were a ranking based on Choni throughout the seasons, S7 would be #1. Kevin also got a ton of great stuff. S7 was so kind to the queer characters… Other than them, I just love how they got to have FUN. They took us back in time and basically just put the characters into an old-timey Archie Comic. Ridiculous but entertaining side plots that actually kept me interested and put the characters in a totally new environment. And despite the fact that people seem to want to ignore this, they ARE still the characters we’ve known and loved since S1, they just didn’t remember. But the memories are still there, and still inform all of their decisions and relationships.

Unfortunately, my biggest gripe with S7 is the way it feels disconnected to the rest of the show overall. They really let the comet story flop hard. Even if we decided to stay in the 50s in the end, we should’ve had way more time with our characters with their memories. They should’ve had conversations that were long overdue, that circle back and bring things to a close, the way final seasons should. I would’ve preferred they go back to the present, but in an altered timeline due to all the changes made to their lives. Tabitha was WASTED and thrown away and it makes me so mad tbh. They chickened out with the Varchie vs Barchie thing and instead we got that dumbass polycule and everyone dating everyone only for literally no one to end up with anyone (except Choni & Clevin uwu). The later half is especially a letdown, because that’s when we should’ve been ramping up to the end with their memories and certain people coming back together. Instead, we just got a lot of randomness. Which, while fun, doesn’t make for a good final season imo.

I think this season would’ve been ranked in my top 3 had it NOT been the final one…

It’s such a polarizing season for me and that’s why it’s smack dab in the middle!

3. Season 2

What a lot of people consider the glory days lol.

Everything that was well-established in S1 was built on and just made even better. The dynamics between the core four and each one of their storylines was spot on and interesting. Black Hood is probably the most interesting mystery villain we ever had on the show and delving deeper into the Cooper family was great. The slasher horror movie vibes with Black Hood’s story & his victims were just elite.

The season was darker and full of lots of twists and turns, which I always appreciate to keep my on my toes. We got introduced to Toni and Choni was born!

It did have some meh stuff tho, the Archie vs Hiram wasn’t all that interesting to me in this season, even though I DO like Hiram a lot. He’s always been an intriguing character to me, I just think he was severely overused. I also don’t like Bughead lol. The Chic stuff is hit or miss. It was bordering on crazy, but not quite at that sweet spot yet.

Overall this season was more exciting and deeper than even the likes of S1. And this is, of course, where we started getting into the Southside Serpents and the gang wars, which I think is such an iconic aspect of the show. Just a fun, deeper, more interesting season for me!

2. Season 6

I’m a sucker for witches and magic and time travel shenanigans, so this season was RIGHT up my alley. Rivervale, Sabrina, the spookiness, Cheryl’s witch arc, Percival was great, Tabitha getting to shine, I loved SO much of this season. Having one villain, that they all focus on I think did wonders for the cohesiveness of the season. Almost everyone got involved in it, there weren’t as many tangential storylines, and the buildup to the comet was so much fun. It was the perfect blend of camp and wackadoodleness and serious life/death stuff.

The worst part for me, is the ships. Tangs being a plague on society and them making Toni’s whole storyline about being a mother (a bad, awful one ugh). Fangs was never a standout to me, but they just made him insufferable this season. The custody battle was insanely stupid and a waste of time. “Baby Anthony” sucked (Dale FTW). Barchie has always bored me. Cheryl/Heather just felt like besties lol. The ships suffered hard in this season lol.

Still, we got Choni confirmed soulmates and Thabigail + Jughead/Tabitha were cute. So that aspect wasn’t ALL bad.

Tonally, it’s soooo different from the other seasons but I think they strike a better balance between mystery villainous plot and campiness than the other seasons. I ate up the supernatural and horror stuff, the plot is one of the most consistent in the whole show, there’s good character development and I just loved the craziness. They easily redeemed themselves after that abysmal S5. 🙏

1. Season 3

Ahhh PEAK insanity. Wild, compelling, dark but also silly af sometimes. The show went off the rails in the best way and I have a blast every time I watch it. A true fever dream. They embraced the crazy and I think that’s what sets it apart from all the other seasons. Imo, there isn’t a single “bad” episode here. They were still in high school, giving us that teenage drama/those dynamics that made Riverdale what it is. My fav ships were together (not without their drama), there was an intriguing mystery with the Gargoyle King. The flashback episode with the parents was amazinggggg and I loved everything about the Gryphon’s and Gargoyle’s storyline and how it trickled down to affect so many people. The atmosphere of the season, the main cast that got focus and actually got to have screentime together, Heathers heing probably their strongest musical. I love it SO MUCH.

There are some weaker points tho. There is a lot that happens this season, like A LOT. But I enjoyed it so much that I lowkey give it a pass for being so convoluted. Dilton was wasted and killed off after not getting much in general. Bughead & Veggie suck. I wish the G&G and Cult stuff had been intertwined better.

An organ harvesting cult led by Chad Michael Murray? Archie fighting a bear? Mass seizures? Babies thrown into a fire and then levitating? Veronica opening a speakeasy as a teenager? Choni cat burglars? Archie in juvie? Bunker sex? Speakeasy sex? Fizzle rocks? Killer DnD? THE EPIC HIGHS AND LOWS OF HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL?

I-C-O-N-I-C. Riverdale is at its best for me when it doesn’t care about being a normal gritty teen show. Maybe this season was a little messier, but I think the sheer fun and craziness more than makes up for that. Everytime I rewatch this season, I enjoy the crap out of it and am reminded why I love these characters and this silly little show so much. ♥️

TUA seaon 4 recap because fuck Netflix

Hi if you are reading this welcome to I hate Steve Blackman/Netflix but I still wanna know what happened in The Umbrella Academy season 4 club, couple things I should probably warn you before we begin

spoilers ahead(just in case you didn’t read the title this IS the pissing on the poor website

I will be very angry and biased because Netflix took the wife and kids i will hate this guy forever I’m really good at remembering a grudge(no hate to the cast tho they did their very best and defo deserve more

In this recap I will go over the main plots of season 4 with a brief mention of the side plots, do beware some of the plot/shit characters did makes absolutely no sense but hey I'm just the messenger please be mad at Netflop for that

Season 4 Episode 1, The Unbearable Tragedy of Getting What You Want(aka us getting season 4 but only 6 episodes)

After loosing their powers when they came back to the main timeline last season, the brellies have lived the past 6 years somewhat peacefully, Luther is a stripper now, Diego and Lila is married with 3 kids, Allison is now a B list celebrity living with Claire, Klaus is sober and a germaphobe, Five is working for the CIA(bro is too busy working to cut his hair i hate it), Ben is a crypto scammer who just got out of prison, Viktor owns a bar and keeps getting dumped by girls(sure whatever)

The new big bad this season is a pair of wacky scientists named Gene and Jean, they are the leader of this cult called The Keepers who are trying to make “The Cleanse” happen, which is just a fancy name for the apocalypse.

Okay so basically this episode Vikor got kidnapped by random guy(I’m not even gonna mention his name he’s just here for plot so I don’t care about him) on his way to Diego and Lila’s kids birthday party, the siblings go and rescue him, random guy said hey actually i'm a big fan of yall if you can rescue my daughter Jennifer from a remote location I will be forever grateful, the group was like nah we are actually powerless now but Five was like wait we are doing this your welcome because he found a bottle of marigold(the thing that gives them their powers) in the belongs of the missing daughter, after this they went to dinner and Ben drugged everyone (except Klaus coz he didn't drink it) with the Marigold so now they are gonna get their powers back.

there's also this side plot where Lila and Five went undercover to investigate The keepers, Lila didn't tell Diego so he thought Lila was cheating on him with some guy whos actually just Five(buddy you are not gonna believe this in like 4 episodes this came true I hate it here)

Season 4 Episode 2, Jean and Gene(they were a cute couple but they will NEVER be Hazel and Cha Cha)

After they got their powers back they went to find random guy but he's missing, leaving a hint about New Grumpson, Maine so the siblings went there roadtrip style(their car also blasting baby shark non stop its not relevant to the plot i just think is funny), the siblings arrived to this small town, Ben was like you know what I’m done with yall bye, when he tries to leave he met Jennier in disguise, they have a chat, fall in love immediately(talk about speed dating am i right), the towns people learned that the siblings are here for Jennier so they pull the guns out and starts shooting,turns out they are all working for deadbeat dad of the century Reginbald Flopgreeves, so the siblings fight with their new and slightly improved superpowers(that apparently drained the vfx budget because the final big bad is ugly asf??? the same show that gives us Pogo?? whatever man)

Meanwhile Klaus was chilling in the car, a fake Jennifer who's pretending to be the real Jennifer asks Klaus for help, then shoots him before the siblings can stop her, Klaus told the siblings he doesn't want to get his powers back and dies, but Allison don’t take no for an answer and water board klaus with the marigold, Klaus came back from the dead, and then Jean and Gene crash into the siblings, kidnapping Jennier.

Back to the Lila Diego Five cheating side plot (ugh), during the roadtrip, Diego tells Five he thinks Lila is cheating on him, Five is like don't worry about it buddy it won’t happen for another 3 episodes (okay the last part was me but Five did tell Diego it’s probably nothing) and Lila overheads their conversation and thank Five for not exposing her GIRL JUST TELL YOUR HUSBAND STOP BEING SHADY *sigh*

Oh and Five keeps teleporting to this subway station that have trains going to different timelines but we never found out who the fuck build this so dont ask me idk either

Season 4 Episode 3, The Squid and the Girl (The plot and the holes because nothing makes any sense anymore)

We start with a flashback to young Jennifer being rescued from giant squid but WE NEVER GOT THE EXPLINATION GIRL WHY ARE YOU INSIDE THAT FUCKING SQUID so we are just gonna move on focus people we are half way though the season shit is about to go down(unfortunately)

After Jean and Gene kidnapped Jennifer, the siblings starting doing what they do best, arguing with each other, this is when Klaus give us the greatest summary of the show,

Klaus then leaves the group, Ben also was like nah fam im out for real and then leaves. The remaining siblings decided to split into two groups, Five Diego Lila went to The Keepers HQ to investigate, Viktor Luthor Allison went to find dear old dad Reggaeton Hargriefs. So Diego finds out that The Keepers have a document about Brellie!Ben’s death aka The Jennifer Incident.

Ben who’s getting tf out, discovers he got hand mouth foot disease with rgb red lights on his hand(see kids this is why you don't touch hands with girls before you get married) random guy pops out and was like bro did you find my daughter, Ben was like yeah I did and I also fall in love with her, random guy was like good good now use your squidar to find her so Ben did just that and rescue Jennifer from Jean and Gene.

For Viktor Luther Allison, they went to a giant mansion that their father owns, expecting to have to fight their way in, but the guards there are like, ah yes master Vikor please welcome in we have been waiting for you, turns out in this timeline Abigail, Rickroll Harkonnen’s wife was still alive and is the one who runs the house + her husband, so the kids were like ma’am your husband is a dick to us in another timeline can you tell him to shut up and help us, she agreed and he obeyed.Now the kids(Luther Allison Diego and Viktor) are putting on their thinking caps to restore their memory of The Jennifer Incident(because dead old dad erased their memory of it talk about childhood erasure)

*sigh* so the Five Diego Lila subplot, when Diego was investigating in the Keepers HQ, Five and Lila blink to the subway station, they got on a train and went to the original apocalypse but five was just like meh guess this wasn’t THAT traumatic pffff I only got stuck here for 40 years no biggie anyway time to get on the train and go home I guess, this shouldn’t affect me in any shape of form given that you know I’m so calm and collected when I first got here :))))))))) yes i'm being sarcastic NO ONE should be this calm and collected here okay.

Diego and Lila also talk things out, Lila apologizes and then says she wants to take a break from their marriage(sure lady whatever

no im NOT even gonna mention what Klaus has been up to, for me he went home to Claire bear and talk shit out with her end of story.

Season 4 Episode 4, The Cleanse (maybe why the Keepers what to make the cleanse happen so badly is because they saw ep 5 and be like nope go to hell yall)

We got a flashback to what happened with brellie!Ben, turns out he was murder by Regglodocus Hippocampus, our beloathed deadbeat dad of the century on a mission where the umbrella academy is securing a package(Jennifer in a box) but they touch hands so bro just straight up kills them both in front of the siblings(bro can we delete you from existence I hate this man with a passion)

The siblings are obviously pissed, AbiFail then explained that it's not her asshole husbands fault, years ago she created the marigold and unknowingly also created Durango, when these two particles touch hands, its gonna end the world for the billionth time(aka the cleanse), this also what happened to their homeworld, and it's gonna end earth if they don't separate Ben and Jennifer(because she got a shitton of durango in her).

Ridiculous Hepatitis then said we must go to kill one of them to stop the world from dying and Viktor is like NOT ON MY WATCH I WILL SAVE BEN and they have a little showdown, Vikor wins(duh) and they are like let's just check this crime scene Ben created last episode when he came to save Jennier okayyy.

The siblings got there + flop dad, Lila told Five hey what if we go back in time with the trains and stop the Jennifer incident from happening in the first place and five is like alright bet, but we cant tell Diego for plot reasons so Imma tell my CIA boss to take Luther and Diego to CIA HQ and babysit them( sis just tell him Diego might be a dumbass but he’s a dumbass that listens smh)

Anyway the siblings split into teams again, Viktor and Renaissance Harrypotter went to track Ben and Jennifer, Five and Lila got on the time train, Luther and Diego were at the CIA, Allison went to save Klaus from the TUA writers.

oh and Ben and Jennier fucks and it kills everyone within the radius lmao

Season 4 Episode 5, Six years, Five months, and two days ( just end my suffering rn)

We start with a montage of Five and Lila being stuck in train hell, unable to find the right train home so they are kinda just traveling from timelines to timelines, they decide to stop and stay in one of them with a strawberry farm(ew), and the most terrible thing ever fucking happend, apprently in these six years they caught feelings and they kissed fucking hell son of the bitch steve blakman I am in your fucking walls I fucking hate it here why can’t good thing last fuck off five would NEVER do this to his siblings this motherfucker spend 40 years and the entirety of season two trying to save his siblings why the fuck would he kiss his sister in law I hate it here

One day he went out for scraps and he found his old note book with the instructions on how to get home, he stashes it and only tell Lila about it 5 fucking months later

5 FUCKING MONTHS

I don't even know what to say let's just get over it okay

so yeah after this they call things off and just went home

Back to Vikor, he calls Ben with the help of dad and tells him hey buddy you have to stop the world and stop your feelings for Jennifer because you are gonna end the world if you stay with her, Ben refuses saying that he’s never been better(sure buddy) Ben and Jennifer plans to run away but Jennifer felt sick so they stop and went to a random mall to hide/ask for help.

Luther and Diego did absolutely nothing in CIA HQ and they realized they were being babysat so they dipped, oh and they also fought a bunch of people in the process which is cool I guess.

Season 4 Episode 6, End of the Beginning(thank fuck is over I’m freeee)

The Keepers are guarding the mall that Ben and Jennifer are in because they are stupid. Viktor and dad arrived at the scene, Viktor convinced dad to let him extract the durango out of Ben so he doesn’t have to kill him, dad said yeah sure whatever man, so Viktor sneaks in the building.

Meanwhile the rest of the siblings gathered at Lila and Diego’s house, Diego clock those cheating bitches immediately and Diego confronts Lila and she finally confesses but before he could beat the shit out of Five, they saw what's going on with Ben on the news and went to the mall.

Vikor got into the building, Ben is now a glowing clay human hybrid(ewwwww

Vikor tries to extract the durango out of Ben but he ran out of time, Dad’s sniper shoots Ben but before it hits, Jennifer and Ben touch hands for one last time and they transforms into ugly cgi clay monster big bad of the season(like wtf is this

the sibling starts fighting the Bennifer monster, Diego and Five didn’t get the memo so they fought each other instead.

So yeah we are fucked, AbiFail told Ratsass Hankercheif shes the one behind the keepers and she’s trying to right her wrongs by ending the world this way(selfish prick) and Reggie said alight that defo excuses every shitty thing you do man I got a really good wife and they both got sucked into the Bennifer monster(your redemption arc flopped btw I still hate you)

The siblings went back to the academy, thinking about what they can do to stop the Bennifer monster, Five went to the train station again, and discovers a deli run by other Fives, and one of the five told him babes, we are NEVER gonna succeed in stopping the apocalypse because the timeline is broken(it's only supposed to be one) and the existence of marigold is what shattered the timeline so we gotta gotta get sucked into the Bennifer monster and volia marigold + durango = kaboom(they will cancel each other out) BUT the siblings will cease to exist(coz their mum got exposed to marigold and birthed them so no marigold no siblings)

Lila and Allison decided to ship their children and family to the train station and send them on one of the trains to create a paradox I mean to protect them and the siblings got absorbed by the Bennifer monster, the timeline was fixed, none of us are happy, we ended up worse than we started.

YES!!! i have a ton of lore for Kitkat!! tho i will condense it down for a tumblr post. IT MIGHT BE A BIT CONFUSING BUT UH HERE WE GO!!

Kitkat (they/he) is my self insert sona! 

Their life is weird and wacky with sometimes entering a time loop/cycle (the pick your path books) they don’t seem to mind it tho, new experiences for the same plot! the time loops do end at some point when Kitkat goes through every option available. no one else knows what’s happening, they just get a really weird sense of deja vu.

 He also has an insanely big crush on Strangeglove but is in DEEP denial and acts like he hates him (but he really doesn’t.) Kitkat even has a dart board with SGs wanted poster on it but the darts haven’t touched the poster at all, instead they have made a heart around it.

EVENTUALLY tho Strangeglove gets this feeling he’s definitely seen this pink katsuma-diavlo thing more than reality has shown him. He creates a device to peer into the mind of kitkat while they are asleep to try and see their memories. Strangeglove finds out much more than he bargained for. 

Dont wanna drag on but both of them somehow get involved with each other and it blooms into a relationship. ALSO Kitkat can now go back in time (never forward). yeah , he can control it now sorta. He still gets stuck in them too sometimes okay!! okay. :) oh and Kitkat lives in a shared home with their best friend named Tim Tam. (my friend @/toonietoon36's oc)

Okay, so I headcannon that Clover, Flowey, and Kanako (something happened where she stopped being an amalgamation, tests amd stuff, and she became back alive) go on little adventures, like they are a version of the Feisty Five but just the three of them (The Gusty Three?). They will do some illegal stuff, but they're like the Feisty Five! Chara is like Ceroba with those three, though they will go with them sometimes (To make sure they don't die, again). Frisk tries to stay out of it, most of the time. Flowey also plays the drums and electric guitar, because why not. They annoy Frisk with it. He's actually very good at plating both as well.Also, I would like to think that Clover would "flirt" with either Flowey or Chara in a joking way (Flowey aro-ace here in my world boyyyssss) to annoy them.

Anyways, what would Flowey rate the monsters Clover faced during their journey? (Starlo, Dalv, Ceroba, Martlet, El Baildor, Decibat, Mo, Axis, Chujin, & Guardener) What did he think about the Wild East? Does Clover know the date Papyrus gave to Flowey as a birthday? If so, does Clover also celebrate it? (What's the date....I need to know) Also, what does Papyrus rank all the monsters (Undertale main + Blooky and Muffet) as well as Undertale Yellow's monsters (Above), and Clover, Chara, Frisk, and Integrity (I headcannon her as Clover's older sister, named Lilian or Lily)? What does Flowey think of Lily and Clover being siblings? (One murderous, the other pacifist) What does he think of Lily overall? Does Flowey regret (If Neutral is done before Pasifist) manipulating and killing Clover? Also, (this is a lot, sorry, I just have a lot of stuff for my boy Flowey) I saw a comic of Flowey and Dalv, Flowey reading one of Dalv's books and being himself (as in being his inner child-like self). Would Dalv allow Flowey to read his books, before publishing them, as well as letting him listen to his music?

overall i think he probably wishes he cared enough about lily's story to try resetting to learn the lore, and possibly help her not die this time. not because he feels bad for her but because he really wonders what a timeline where lily gets to go on a rampage and live would look like. also just because he doesn't like axis.

tbh i don't think flowey would regret it, per se. or at least, he wouldn't let himself. he'd reason in his mind that they would've ruined the plan, gotten in the way, sabotaged it, etc. which is why it's fine they didn't know! he'd probably point at the pacifist route and say "see?? see?? that's what would've happened!!! they would've given up their soul to some random idiots and ruined everything!" probably just a little peeved that clover gave up when they were so close.

honestly the idea of dalv letting flowey read the books and embrace his inner child a bit is so wholesome... he may be 25 (hc uty age) but that doesn't mean he can't read a fun book. it also kinda reminds me of my headcanon that flowey is papyrus' little taste tester (sorry if like every friendship flowey has in my mind comes back to papyrus somehow) and like, he just gets to preread as a treat for being dalv's friend! if clover was still here they'd be like on the floor, criss-cross applesauce... oh my god i forgot dalv makes music!! i think after building up some confidence he'd probably let flowey listen to just a little bit and flowey would be like "turn up the JAMS!!! the music police are getting you for this BEAT!!"

Final chappy of a Wacky Weird Tale! Holy crap! There is epilogue, which I don't count as a chapter right after this and notes for the rough draft of the fic

Crash stood in the doorway, confused at the professor's sudden arrival, but welcoming nonetheless, “Won't you come in?” The professor smiled a bit wanly at Crash, “Yes, but I believe we need to talk.”

Meanwhile the kids were in the car, Christian had the knife and Ian was still trying to get out of Jimmy and Ricky’s hold, “Hey, hey, stop, you're kicking me.” Ricky whisper-yelled, “Please, I c-can stab th-them both, a-and then w-we can t-take the car, Christian’s b-been teaching m-me how to dr-drive.”

The other two boys turned and looked at Christian, “What? We have a driver's ed class and I've just been teaching the fundamentals.” he tried to sound innocent, but he sounded like he was going to laugh.

Finally though, Ian did give up his struggling and just glared daggers at the man's back. If looks could kill, the whole neighborhood would be dead, “Y-you guys are r-really s-strong, not fair.” He was pouting that they wouldn't let him stab the guy.

But then Crash came up to the car and opened the door. Christian dropped the knife and backed away. Crash's face was always gentle, but they were still scared of him, “Come on, we'll explain everything.”

Those words had an odd hold on Christian and, as much as he just wanted to grab the others and run, there would always be a little what if nagging in the back of his mind for the rest of his life…and the other three knew that.

Slowly, Christian got out of the car and waited for the others. He knew they had minds of their own, but he knew they were also curious. Soon, they were all out of the car and in the living room, Chad was also there, waiting.

The man who had given them a ride home was sitting on the couch, “So professor, what did you need to talk about?” Crash asked, sitting next to him on the couch.

The professor had his gaze on the children, “This was never meant to be, I'm so sorry.” That confused Christian.

Who was this man? Why was he called the professor? What was not meant to be?

Before he could ask all of these, the professor said, “I miscalculated, an error on my part. I thought the Aquabats wouldn't get together without some kind of intervention.”

“What's an Aquabat?” Christian asked, confused.

“You guys are…well, were supposed to be, see I thought it wouldn't be possible for you guys to form together, but I was looking into an alternative timeline, not this one or the one that I was looking at, it was one where you,” he pointed at Christian, “Had never gone to college, thus had never met Chad thus had never become friends this had never started a band.”

This was all a lot to take in. Christian had actually staggered back a bit. Chad and him? Friends? What?

Crash had a look of utter heartache in his face, “I'm so sorry, this I'm just sorry.” The professor quickly snapped a cuff onto his wrist, “In case you get emotional, now, I can reverse this.” That caught everyone's attention. How?

“How?” Ricky asked.

The professor gave a sheepish little smile, “I have a device, it will allow you to go back to the point when everything was changed. This timeline will never exist. You will go back to where you were. It will be as though it had never happened and yet, you will still have some lingering memories. You will have the bond you had, you always had had. It is a constant in every universe.”

“What about Crash?” Jimmy asked.

The professor shrugged, “He'll stay here, find this universe’s Aquabats, as I can tell, they haven't formed yet.”

Christian looked to the others. They were going to go home. They were going home! Home! Home! Home!

He hugged the professor, which the latter wasn't expecting.

Crash gave a sad smile. He had grown to love them, but now, they had to go. It was sad, but understandable.

“How do you do it?” Chad asked, finally involving himself in the conversation. The professor reached in his pocket and pulled out a remote looking device, “Right, you guys haven't seen Sliders because it hasn't come out yet, but this will create a portal which will do all of the aforementioned stuff. It'll be like this has never happened.”

Christian looked to the others. To Crash, who had a look of encouragement, “Let's tango.” The professor pointed the device at the floor and a blue portal opened up, like a swirling vortex.

This was the moment they had all dreamed of. The moment that drove the hope of every day.

They said goodbyes, they hugged Crash. It wasn't like they would leave without doing that. And then they jumped and the portal closed.

Silence filled the household eerily, “Do you think they'll remember? Even just a little bit?” Crash broke the silence.

having finished hell's aquarium I think the worst character is still the wacky crazy guy whose bipolar disorder makes him say trivia all the time for some reason. second worst is probably the love interest. rough timeline of events with this character

when she first meets the main guy she's like "just one thing: don't fall in love with me" bc she's serious about her career. she says a bunch of stuff about how women are just as good at piloting scifi submarines to catch megalodons as men

within like two days of them meeting she makes out with him in the pool

then shes like "no... we can't do this" and he gets upset

when she wants him to help her prove that she deserves to be on the submarine team he's like "is this why you made out with me earlier?!" and she apologizes and says she doesn't want to seem like one of those girls who bats their eyelashes to get what they want. just a very weird scene. the vibe was off

they do start dating officially, I don't remember why

I can't remember when this was but at some point she confesses to him that she was actually hired by their boss to fuck him so that he would take the job but she felt bad about it and decided not to and their relationship is real

they go on a super dangerous dive together and get trapped in a titanium orb secret lab at the bottom of the secret ocean under the ocean and weepily promise to marry each other if they live

the guy's dad comes down to save them and he gets them back up to the normal ocean but as they're about to reach safety she gets eaten by liopleurodon

shes just a very bad character? it's the peak of Strong Female Character written by a guy who doesn't know what women are like. the scene i felt was so weird truly felt like incel shit with her apologizing for tricking him with her feminine wiles. the fact that she's always like "I'll show you that even though I'm a woman I'm here on my own merits as a pilot" but it turns out she was there to fuck the guy is Wild. she has no interiority and is just a tool to make the guy mad and confused and horny. and then she gets eaten within the last five pages of the book

Homestuck: Connection Lost

The plot is similar to the main series. Four varying aged individuals decide to play a game together, however after entering the medium, the connection to their server is lost and as such, their world is deleted. However, the four end up in another session. One already in progress with a boy, his friends, and eight trolls negging them as well…yeah they’ve wound up in the beta timeline and must work with them to at least save this world.

Unoriginal plot is now out of the way. Now, lets get on with the role call!

Adroxi is a teal Blooded troll who has a passion for justiCe and as such works on his figure to grow himself physically. he is heavily inspireD by jrpgs and oftEn thinks oF himself as the protaGonist. wHIle he can come across as rude and…very rude, deep down he has a bond with most of his friends that will be pushed to their limits while on this Journey. He’s also the one who made the Troll-A-Chum servers for his friends to talk on.

Age: 8.5 Sweeps (18.5. 23 by the credits)

Weapons: His fists, SwordBats

Kasill is a Jade blooded troll who can handle the Alternian sun like most do but something is off about her. Instead of embracing the nurturing and caregiving side most of them have, she fears that if she does this, she’ll cause problems and will lead others to their deaths. To remedy this she hides behind a “kooky” and wacky persona so that nobody suspects she’s hiding anything. She lets it slip with her friends though at times…mainly Thatcher and Adroxi.

Typing quirks: Replaces all S’s with Z’s

Jaey Thatcher

Jaey is a normal everyday human who’s sleep deprived and lives with a guy who dresses in knight armor and trains him in “the way of the knight.” Which mainly includes random attacks and being left on the ground after getting his ass kicked. Due to living on edge he’s never had time to figure out how to act or who he wants to act like. What he does know is that he LOVES pissing off “Crusader” often by using alternate weapons, shifting interests, finding more interests in samurai movies instead of knight movies, and giving up swords for fountain pens.

Age: 14.5 (20 by the credits)

Weapons: Fountain Pens, Broadswords

Typing quirks: Normal text but CAPITALIZES important items and titles.

Emmi Jollie

Emmi is the youngest of the quartet and yet so mature she was allowed to name herself two years early! She gets pouty at her parents for telling her no all the time and being responsible so she turns to her online friends who agreed they’ll help her grow up. She is the glue holding them together and without her they wouldn’t be friends. She loves normal girly stuff like the color pink, horses, and the twisted and macabre stuff like horror terrors and, thanks to “mister white text man” she’s really interesting in “Grimdarks.” She hopes that someday her friends can see that she can grow up without them and she’ll be okay on her own one day.

Age: 11 at the start. (12 when they enter the other world. 17 by the credits)

Weapons: Pop guns, revolvers, wiffle ball bats

Author Talk: Hey guys…so this is my weird little HSAU series I’ve been planning for months. Still ironing some things out but I can answer any questions you may have.

1, Why are YOU in this?

A: It was originally an rp series that fell through but over time I developed it more and as such am keeping him here as his own separate character. Shipping stuff, if any, will only be for after the credits esq pics where everyone in the story is established to be 18 and older…not with Emmi though. She’s too young. Speaking of.

2, Why the varying ages?

A: Well…having everyone be multiple ages is something I don’t see too often in these stories so I wanted to try it for myself and see if I could make it work.

3, Will this ever be on MSPFA or have pictures to go with it?

A: Not unless a team of deranged folks wanna go along with this somehow for free cuz I’m both broke and artistically bankrupt. Hell I made these guys in the character maker for HS.

4, Is this just cringy fanfiction?

A: Hell yeah baby. But fuck it, we ball.

Say what you will about once upon a time's weird timeline and odd plots. But it's honestly one of my favorite shows. It's continues message about hope and growth and forever working towards bettering yourself and the friends and family you build along the way. That's so important. That show proved time and again family is what you make it. Your blood. And your chosen. It's about home and finding a place in the world you can be accepted and loved.

And I dont care about plot holes. Or even how annoyed I was about how Rumpelstiltskin's plot kept getting yanked around. A lot of that show was about how growth and development isn't linear. And as irritating as that could feel. It isn't entirely off from how some people's lives are.

The shows over all message was hope. I wish I could find someone who'd kept track of all the times the show said it cause towards the end I started picking up on it so much. There's a reason Emma and Hook named their daughter Hope. That show had it's problems. Everything does. But I'd still say it got it's message across. And in a good and mostly well constructed way. There were dumb plots and things that didn't make sense. Stuff that made me mad. But like. If media doesn't give us feelings it's not doing its job. And this one gave me big feelings. It's one of the few shows I can say give me hope. I have a lot of trauma and mental health issues that have made me fear my future. But when it comes to media that has helped me have at least a little faith that I can have some happiness. Once upon a time is a big one on that list. I'm glad I finally got around to finishing it a couple years ago. And truly if not for trollhunters I never would have finished probably. But Im really glad I did.

No matter how weird or convoluted or wacky you may think the plot is. It really is about the idea of hope and love and growth. In some of the best ways. And we get to have silly connections along the way.

Golden Wind/Vento Aureo is like my favorite part in the main timeline next to Stone Ocean and it’s the perfect combination of wacky for an ateez story 😭 mafia/weird magic shit/adventure au it has everything along with fashion on top of that.

(this totally wasn’t spurred on by the fact that when i first seen seonghwa i thought he looked like bruno 🌝)

gold experience i feel is a perfect stand for hongjoong just based off of who he is as a person. like i don’t know, out of all the main jojo’s stands, either crazy diamond or gold experience is a fit for him.

sticky fingers is weird just like seonghwa so there’s a match 😭 like give seonghwa that stand and you have ateez’s new bane of their existence honestly.

originally it was going to be stone ocean because of their outlaw concept pictures with the green backgrounds (omfg they’re so good bro, that entire album had fire concept photos) and because they’re outlaws, why wouldn’t a jail au be perfect for that, but then i remembered part 5 and NEEDED my bruno/seonghwa dreams to come true.

as for their lil backstories, they’ll probably be different from the actual gw characters’ backstories but they lowkey don’t really matter if i’m being honest 💀

hongjoong’s getting his ✨fashion degree baby✨ in the beautiful naples, italy and works as a scamming taxi driver at the airport because he’s gotta hustle to pay them bills since his parents don’t support his dreams 😒 and ends up screwing with the wrong person and meets the 🫶🏻 park seonghwa 🫶🏻 who hears him out about his disdain for the mafia dealing drugs to kids (or maybe just in general) and how he wants to stop that. seonghwa agrees and says ‘yeah bby just kill that capo in jail after passing the test to join and we got our ticket in’ and the story goes from there.

the fic simultaneously doesn’t take itself seriously sometimes and does at the same time, just like jojo. it’ll be all fun and games at the start where they think it’s smooth sailing but then the boss rolls up and shit goes down hill and it gets serious. but i’ve enjoyed writing the first chapter. it’s different from what i’m used to solely because jojo is kind of hard to translate outside of itself.

i love ateez. i love jojo. mix em together and you have 🤲🏻 my everything. i need to share it with the yall or it’ll be living in my head rent free 24/7
