Do you know what hurts the most? Not scraping your knee. Not accidentally biting the inside of your cheek, and not even tearing off a hangnail- no! There is no greater pain than having hyperfixation/special interest....and it is super niche.
Super niche gang, where you at? I need to info dump about this AWESOME story about British bunnies beating each other up! (I'm aware there is so much more to it than that - just a brief summary)
Also, I got the Watership Down vinyl from Christmas this year, alongside a copy of Tales from Watership Down

My Redbubble account was just suspended. 😡
They don't even tell you why! In order to appeal, I had to submit a photo with my face clearly shown, holding a paper with my name, username, and today's date on it. I guess this can confirm that I'm not just a bot, and that I'm not the same person as whoever else is appealing suspended accounts around now, but otherwise I have no idea what this tells them.
I've had a few things taken down for DMCA stuff before, but the last time was over a year ago and it was an item that was originally accepted as part of Redbubble's own fanart program! It was for the Watership Down animated tv show. I guess once RB ended that particular licensing agreement, everything that was once "official fan art" is suddenly a DMCA violation. 🙄
The last time before that was back in 2020 when Terry Pratchett's estate went nuts and submitted takedowns for everything tagged anything to do with Good Omens, even if it didn't actually contain any specifically copyrighted material - like my design that is literally just the word "Wahoo" and THAT'S ALL. They don't have a copyright on the word Wahoo! (This despite the fact that RB has a tag-specific takedown process where they'll just take infringing tags off your non-infringing design - but no, they took the whole thing down.)
But RB's DMCA appeal process is bullshit - basically if you want to appeal, they give your personal information to whoever filed the takedown and if those people don't sue you within a certain amount of time they'll put your design back up.
So anyhow, I've only had one DMCA takedown in the past THREE YEARS (for a design RB originally accepted to their official fan art program), and since that one I have submitted two of my own against artists who just reuploaded my designs wholesale. And I don't relist anything that does get taken down, so they can't claim I've broken that rule. Not even the Wahoo design, though I've been tempted.
And then here is the email they sent me after I submitted my appeal photo:
Your request for account reinstatement has been submitted. A few things to keep in mind: * We are not able to review every suspension appeal. * If your account is reinstated, you will receive a response within two weeks. * If you haven’t received a response in two weeks, your appeal has been denied and your account will not be reinstated. * Submitting multiple requests, forms, or responding to this email will not improve your chances for reinstatement and could make your appeal ineligible.
So they might not even LOOK at my appeal, and actually trying to contact them about it might make my appeal completely ineligible.
My account on Teepublic, which is owned by RB, is just fine. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Time to find other places to list my designs - where else do people buy fandom merch? I had plans to get back to the library vinyl printer to get my stickers back on etsy but covid has thrown a wrench in that just like everything else.

Angela Morley and Malcolm Williamson - Watership Down: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (CBS UK/Columbia, 1978) - Designed by Maurice Wilson
Normally I wouldn't be interested in showcasing soundtrack covers since they have barely anything interesting art-wise, but after having just watched this movie on HBO Max and falling in love with it almost instantly, I decided to make an exception for this one.
The front cover is essentially the same as the theatrical poster, but the back fascinates me. How they managed to cram many scenes of the movie in Hazel's silhouette at a time when we didn't have Photoshop or Illustrator (or any digital editor) to make the process easy is a mystery.
For a while, getting a copy of this soundtrack was a hassle; since the movie was a box office failure in both the UK and US, CBS didn't see any reason to re-release a soundtrack for a movie that flopped and was likely to be forgotten (home video was very much considered a fad back then) so fans were forced to shell out a ton of dough just to get a copy. We eventually got a CD release in 1998 (the film's 20th anniversary), but in a limited edition pressing by P.E.G. Recordings (under license from Sony Music, who now owns the master recordings having bought CBS's music arm the decade prior). Eventually, another CD pressing came in Europe around 2017 from Vocalion (in a SACD hybrid release) before Sony finally took the hint and put out a proper re-release in both vinyl and CD in 2022 worldwide (it's also on Spotify and iTunes/Apple Music).

I kinda wish I grew up in the 80s in either America, or England. Great music, great movies, that cute 'This is...Radio Twoooooo!' Jingle when you turn on the radio in your car.
The fuzzy TV screens.
The vinyls/tapes.
The English accents sounded way different on tv back then compared to today.
I would've rented Watership Down on VHS tape

She looks down to the page covered in all the birds, tilting her head a little to the side as she looked at every single bird. "Maybe both? Either way, they are not too shabby. Mine usually end up looking like checkmarks or potatoes with wings." Her gaze is attentively focused on the sketchbook, more than happy to see whatever he's comfortable showing her. Her eyebrows lift a little at the sight of the rabbit, a small smile now tugs at the corner of her lips, "I liked your birds, but I love your rabbits." One hand reaches out to gently trace the outlines of one of the drawn rabbits before guiding her finger to one of the rabbits more towards the center of the page, "This one here reminds me of Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog. It's tough to say, either Holy Grail or Watership Down."
She lifts the album in her hand, looking at the cover, grinning, "I'm afraid there's no party happening tonight, at least not any official one. But I'm always in need of pop zombies and Vincent Price monologues. What's that he says? No mere mortal can resist. Ohh. Would you happen to know if you guys have Alfred Hitchcock on vinyl?"
He blinked up at her and flipped his book around and slid it over to show her. The page was covered in sharpied black birds in various bird poses. They were stylized, of course, but detailed enough to get the point across. “Um. Crows. Or maybe ravens? I’m not sure. There really isn’t much, um, anatomical accuracy to them so it’s hard to say. Maybe it’s both and some are just closer to the viewer. Like the forced perspective in Lord of the Rings or something. I dunno. Earlier, it was rabbits." He flipped back a few pages to show the rabbits, more detailed and haunted-looking than the nebulous black birds. "I’ve been on a real rabbit kick lately, I dunno why. Maybe the universe is telling me to watch Watership Down again. Or my brain is.” Then the thought that his brain and the universe were both the same thing and the idea of that made him pause, looking rather bewildered.
“Uh.” His gaze fell on ‘Thriller’ and the bewildered expression turned into a bit of a grin. “Thriller? That’s a um, that's a good one. Halloween party or just a need for pop zombies and Vincent Price monologues? Either’s cool.”

All the Galar Family Portraits have been added to my Etsy as 3in Vinyl stickers! The solo-pokemon illustrations have also been added and can be found in a separate listing with my previous designs. Aaaand the El-ahrairah and Black Rabbit of Inlé designs from my recent Watership Down pattern has also been added! Phew!
I've also tweaked a few of the other Sticker listings, separating the WoW Dragons to their own listing (ready to add more!) and all my OCs to their own listing~
Be sure to take a look at TheTallGrass.etsy.com!

Lavender, foxglove, and magnolia!
Lavender: Soundcloud or vinyls?
Oh boy uh.... well I don’t have a record player. If I did, I’d totally use it. But like... hm. To be fair, I don’t even use soundcloud! I usually stream my music from youtube or from my phone playlist so I guess “soundcloud” is the most appropriate answer, but only because I like obscure music and I typically wouldn’t find the songs I like in vinyl.Does that... make any sense at all?? Probably not. :|Foxglove: Favorite cartoon character
AAAAAAAAAAAA THAT’S TOO DIFFICULT!!!!! There’s so many good ones!!! All of the main characters of Gravity Falls and Over the Garden Wall, lots of Steven Universe characters, certain My Little Pony characters, does Watership Down (the movie and the TV show) count???? AAAAA!!! I really can’t choose a favorite!
Magnolia: Coffee or tea?Oof honestly I’d say both. I absolutely love both of them. Hell, I’d mix them together... but I’m not sure how that would taste. Now I’m imagining a chai flavored coffee and I need it in my life. ((((W h a t h a v e y o u d o n e))))

#NewRecordDay! #AlbumOfTheDay #NowSpinning #NowPlaying “Elil” - Fall of Efrafa Limited Edition Green/Black/Yellow Marbled Repressing | 180 gram | 200 copies | Alerta Antifascista Records | album art by Alex CF - “All the world will be your enemy, Prince With A Thousand Enemies...” When I first heard this album, I hadn’t really listened to Fall of Efrafa before. I heard talk about Light Bearer and how Alex CF was in that band, but that was the extent of it. I was hooked immediately. They quickly rose through the ranks of my favorite listens and has been repeated again and again. With the entire premise of the band being based on the mythos of Richard Adams’ “Watership Down”, their lyrics are dismal and powerful. With riffs to match, they can also pull it back for some beautiful, spacey, atmospheric bits that really shine. This album is the 2nd part of a trilogy that the band wrote, all based on the fall of the Efrafa from the book. Beyond ecstatic to have this in my collection! - #FallofEfrafa #Elil #postmetal #postrock #crust #melodiccrust #doom #doommetal #metal #music #vinyl #LP #record #records #analog #repress

The Strokes ‘At the Door’
Fragt mich warum ich mich erst jetzt mit der neuen ‘Strokes’ Single ‘At the Door’ vertraut gemacht hab. Irgendwie wollte ich nicht, hatte Angst sie ist enttäuschend. Ist sie aber nicht!
07.03.2020
Und das Video von Mike Burakoff verdient einen extra Probs: SciFi-Grim Reaper meets Alice in Wonderland 🔥
Die neue Platte ‘The New Abnormal’ erscheint am 10. April auf red Vinyl.
The wait is finally over!! After 7 years the Strokes are back with a new studio album. At the Door is their debut single and we had the honor to participate on its music video. We were thrilled when Mike Burakoff and Benjy Brooke invited us to participate on this amazing project. This clip, which is actually almost a short film (5 minutes), was directed by Mike and co-produced by Benjy with an amazing group of artists from such as Ugo Bienvenu, Sike, Agathe Leroux, etc. What an amazing crew! And all in the service of a clip that resonates beautiful memories of retro animation (René Laloux, Moebius, Watership Down, Heavy Metal…). We were in charge of designing and animating the Megastructure section (warrior, overlord), over 1 minute of animation. Inspired on the Heavy Metal movie, the section is a journey of warrior trying to save the universe at any cost. Song: At The Door. Album: The New Abnormal.

For those of you who collect these adorable, little vinyls...THIS IS EXCITING NEWS! We are filled to the brim with excitement and can’t wait to get our hands on them when they are released.
Although we are so happy, there’re just a few things we have a problem with but we’ll share those beneath the cut. Keep in mind this is just our opinion and we’d LOVE to hear yours!
It was a huge surprise to even see the designs of our beloved characters hit the internet. While we had read months ago that LOST would be added to the large collection of available vinyl figures, we never thought we’d see their designs let alone receive news of when they’re expected to hit shelves.
Now, the problems we have with these adorable collectibles are the choices in design and the two characters who don’t belong. Jacob and The Man in Black are fantastic characters whom we both love! So don’t yell at us too much when we say we’d rather see different characters be brought to Funko life first.
For those who don’t collect Pops, you don’t know that they’re usually released in waves/series. Each time a new wave/series is dropped, about five or six new characters OR an alternate costumed pop is released. The clothing of the main five are dated back to season one which is why we’re left a little confused as to how Jacob and MiB are going to be released in this first wave. We hope to see more of our beloved survivors released in several waves, of course, but we’d much rather have Charlie or Sayid as those two were the more popular characters in season one. Claire, Michael, Jin, and Sun would be just as welcomed.
The next problem are the props, or the little object held by the pop vinyls. Kate has a pair of handcuffs -- that’s a no brainer as to why she has them -- but we’d love to have seen her holding the toy airplane, something significant to her. James has a copy of Watership Down -- we’d much rather see him with his letter to Mr. Sawyer -- something that was meaningful to him for several seasons. Lastly is Hurley’s prop which is...the Apollo bar! How lazy! We understand his connection with the chocolate bar but come on! Kate also ate the chocolate so why doesn’t she have one? We think he absolutely should be holding his lottery ticket -- those numbers had deep roots in the series.
Of course this is all just a fun opinion shared on here, we have no actual hate or dislike in any of the toys and we cannot wait to get our hands on them! What are your opinions? Who are you excited to purchase first? Which characters are you hoping get released in the next wave (fingers crossed we have several)?

Carlton was inspired by Watership Down, Richard Adams' fantasy novel about a group of rabbits, which inspired the title. The biggest influence for the album, however, was her parents' collection of 70s vinyl records, whose warm sound moved her to record the album on analog tape, rather than digitally.
A Fantasy Everyone Can Enjoy
Vanessa Carlton has really outdone herself in this album (Rabbits On the Run). She achieves the fantasy atmosphere that she talks about in her “Four Elements” video. The double tracking done in almost every song in this album took me off guard at first; I had never heard anything like it. But it quickly grew on me as I realized that it’s all part of the ethereal sound that fills the album.
The lyrics are very poetic and earthy, as they have always been. It’s part of her charm that keeps me coming back to her. Nowhere else do you hear anyone speaking about peeping though the key hole of a wooden door in a brick wall, or comparing the natural give and take cycle of love and life to a carousel. The concepts may seem a bit dated, but that’s what magical about them. She brings back the playfulness that seems to be missing in today’s society in a mature fashion. It’s very cathartic and pleasing.
Her use of instrumentation is perfectly on-key as well. The piano, strings, brass, and children’s choir fit with her soothing and yet girly but mature voice. It’s a precious gem that is lost in most of the music heard on popular radio stations, yet it has an appeal that attracts some of the same audience.
All in all, “Rabbits On the Run” provides music that can appeal to all ages and various tastes. It’s a simple and beautiful joy wrapped with a bow, and it’s hard not to enjoy such a generous and true gift.
This is the same review I posted on iTunes. I plan on writing more music reviews as well, since I love talking about different artists and their styles.

116. Cocteau Twins - “Lorelei”
For a brief window, maybe 1985 for a few months, it became de rigeur to buy music on cassettes rather than vinyl. This was the modern world. I only bought two in the end, that I can remember, “Brewing Up With Billy Bragg” and “Treasure” by the Cocteau Twins before going back to LPs. Another Peel favourite, late at night listening to the Festive 50 and hearing this other-worldly noise, before any cliches about sonic cathedrals or any of that.
“Treasure” absolutely captivated me, taking me to another world, or perhaps more accurately for a teenage boy, cementing my view of my own secret world. A place where you didn’t have to go with the flow, I suppose. The titles still get me - “Victorialand” just seems so emblematic of a particular style or aesthetic that I don’t think anyone other than the Cocteau Twins could have called an album that.
I remember listening to this song, this album, the night our rabbit Smokie died. It still has a kind of Watership Down vibe for me I guess. I loved that rabbit, even though I neglected it. An important lesson.
