that's so fascinating seeing like, the cultural differences between weddings because at least for me here in the US, outside of a lifelong bff or somewhat close extended family member getting married, i never have any expectations of being invited to a wedding lol (and even then maybe my lifelong bestie just wants to do a small wedding with only immediate family who knows!) (although i was also not invited to 2 of my cousins weddings but anyway! *shrugs*)

you weren't invited to your cousins' weddings?? damn. actual hellfire would rain down if that happened here lmao. and, yeah, it's always interesting to watch american shows and see the cultural differences, especially when it comes to weddings...here in india, if you're getting married, you give out invitations to your entire family and extended family; your friends, your colleagues...even your old classmates and neighbours (and all of THEIR families are invited, too). all of them probably won't turn up but the done thing to do is invite them. and there's always enough food at these things to feed an army so that's never an issue

48. Who is your favorite character to write for? Has this changed since you’ve started writing for that fandom?

My favorite POV character, recently, has been E.lizabeth Swann, because I don't have to pump the brakes every five words and ask myself if this character is too repressed or too emotionally shut-down to think or say that, humorously speaking - and because she's simultaneously whip-smart but working in a world whose rules she doesn't fully understand (or like).

And I will always, always have a soft spot for Jed Foster, whose dialogue tends to be as subtle as a male peacock's tail and who can always be relied upon in a pinch to simultaneously make things better AND worse.

49. What fic of yours would you say is the best introduction to you as a writer?

In a thousand words or less, the Tortoiseshells 101 is probably "a line or two can give no great offense" - the notes are longer than the fic, the plot is Foreboding Vibes, and the great tragedy happens off screen.
