Chocolatería

I made a fluffy fanfic for Az @demondamage so he can feel better after surgery!! It includes Hot Chocolate and Az's Ocs! Warren and Aziphem. Its serious just comfort and fluff. Anyway! Hope this made Az feel better! __

The little demon was shaking next to the fire. As if the cold had bore into his very soul. Did.. people  (creatures?) like him have souls? Warren wrote in his notebook yet another question to ask Aziphem when he felt like talking. Would the question be answered? Probably not. Warren sighed, this was not something that he signed up for. But looking at Azzie sitting there by the fire, still shaking like a leaf, he couldn’t help but feel his heart wrench for him. It had taken him forever to just get him into the house, let alone accept a blanket or two from him. Warren wanted to give him at least a little bit of peace. Just a second where the demon felt safe. Genuinely safe. One thing at a time though. First things first, he had to get Azzie warm. The blankets and the fire wasn’t enough and the little thing was too damn stubborn to admit it. Warren thought for a moment before he thought of something. Then Warren was in the kitchen with a pot on the stove, pouring milk, pulling out a few packets of hot chocolate mix. Warren was smiling to himself, as he waited for the milk to heat up. 

“What are you doing, human?” Aziphems' voice rang out, quiet, a blanket curled over his shoulders, wrapping him up effectively. His dark eyes, even the third one on his forehead, watched him cautiously. There seemed to be a bit of fear in them, wariness. God what happened to him before Warren had found him broken outside in the forest. 

“I’m making you hot chocolate, to help you warm up,” Warren said slowly, he had planned for it to be a surprise but Aziphem had other plans. Aziphem stepped backwards, bearing his teeth at Warren. 

“I don’t need anything from you,” he said, growling. 

“I know that,” came the automatic, tired response. 

This seemed to be surprising to Aziphem, who frowned. Pursing his lips. “You.. You say you know, but then you continue giving me things,” he said, confused. “Remember our conversation about why I'm helping you? That I don’t have an ulterior motive? That I can’t take things from you because you’re so much stronger than me, and faster, and, you can totally rip me apart and-” 

Aziphem had a ghost of a smile on his face. 

“Ah you can smile. It’s cute,” he said, not really thinking about what he had said. 

There was a silence in the room as Warren blushed and turned back to the warm milk on the stove, throwing the mix into the pot and stirring it. He was so.. Stupid. Why did he just say that? 

“You’re blushing,” Aziphem helpfully pointed out, smirking. Warren rubbed his face with his hand, as if that would rub the blush from his skin. He sighed and grabbed two mugs from the cabinet. “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Warren said, smiling at Azzi, trying to let him know that it was all in good fun. Gentle teasing. 

“Right, of course not,” Azzie played along, watching Warren tip the hot chocolate in the mugs, watching it steam. Azzie immediately went to snatch the mug and Warren stopped him with a whine. 

“Hold on Azzie! I haven’t even put in the best part!” Aziphem pouted and Warren smiled, going to look for the marshmallows. “I promise you’ll love it.” He cursed lightly in Spanish as he dug through the pantry. “I swear I have them.” Aziphem watched, slightly amused at the dumb human looking like he was going through an existential crisis about marshmallows. Then the man made an excited noise and raised his head, banging it on the top of the pantry with a low groan. “Ayyy,” he grumbled, one hand rubbing his head and the other clutching the marshmallows like his life depended on it. “Hey, hey! Don’t laugh, that hurt,” Warren said pouting. 

Azzie stayed quiet but there was still a smile on his face as he watched Warren grumpily make his way to the mugs, tearing open the bag and grabbing a handful. Placing that handful on the counter, then grabbing another handful of marshmallows splitting it in the chocolatey drink. Aziphem grabbed the handful of marshmallows and stuffed them in his mouth, chewing as Warren grabbed his own mug, leaning against the counter. 

He watched as Aziphem grabbed the other mug, holding it close to his chest as he peered into it. Whispering a quiet, “Thank you,” as he took a sip. 

How long had it been since he was shown kindness without expecting anything in return? The question burned in Warren's head as he took another sip of the hot chocolate. 

“There’s a word for this in Spanish you know,” Warren spoke, wanting for a second to fill the silence. Just for a moment. Aziphem looked up, eyes bright with the question. “It’s like when a group of people get together and have hot chocolate,” Warren paused and grinned, “Chocolatería.” 

“Choco..” Aziphem trailed off, the word hard on his tongue. 

“Latería,” Warren finished gently. 

“I’ll let you speak the Spanish here,” Aziphem said with a roll of his eyes, taking another sip of the chocolate. He had long ago stopped shaking. But he took the drink anyway. 

“Yeah, I think that’s best,” Warren said with a laugh. “Want to watch a movie?” “Sure.”

“Come on then Azzie.” 

They sat that night on the same couch, it was a step in the right direction. There was a stillness in the air that was comfortable and quiet. Warren couldn’t get Aziphems smile out of his head. He even went to bed thinking about it. Maybe he could help a little more than he thought. Little by little, step by step.

I drew them a wee bit ago but finished them up today cause some of y'all seemed to want to see them ^^

tbh they were all really fun to draw, I wanted to try different facial features for each of them but they mostly ended up with long thin faces :') so I kinda still got a bit of same face syndrome there.

Personal notes-

I lowkey headcanon Arthur's right eye, the one with the sandstorm scarring, got kinda damaged from that and is pulled a bit tighter. He's also got a nose that's been broken in the past, same as Juno.

Juno ended up so pretty eeee, I wasn't sure how I wanted to do the eyepatch but I kinda like the design.

Was going for a librarian look for Jon, but a rather disheveled and paranoid one. I'm really happy with how his nose turned out, I figured out how to shade noses through this piece.

Cecil was very fun to do as well, I wanted to push his design a bit into more femme styles than I usually see cause I feel like Cecil's the kinda guy to fuck with gender a bit.

Arthurs design is probably set end of s3 start of s4.

Juno's from s3 onward.

Jon's around end of s2 through s3.

Cecil exists out of times constraints.

Dear listeners I come to you with a query I guess more of a proposition to spread the word.

To finally make Wolf 359 popular!

Sense tumbler had graciously given us polls I’ve noticed that w359 has been over shadowed by other bigger podcasts and I think that w359 deserves some recognition as an Og podcast that lots of podcast creators have drawn inspiration from.

Like Johnathan Sim has literally recommended it in one of he’s Q&A’s and people still over look it 😔 for shame.

A lot of people haven’t listened to it because of the title ect. But it’s literally so good and funny, I love all of the characters sm and none even knows who they are and it KILLLLS ME oh so much.

SPREAD THE WORD WOLF 359 WILL HAVE A COME BACK.

Ranking the General Quality of Fanart: Podcast Edition

The Magnus Archives: 12/10, i absolutely love seeing people's interpretations of the characters, especially the avatars. Always gorgeous, special shoutout to the copious amount of religious imagery (can't have a podcast about fear gods and not have godly imagery amiright). always a treat.

Malevolent: 10000000/10, I've genuinely never seen bad malevolent fanart. it's like yall get possessed by one of the KIY's worshippers and just make the most ethereal art I've ever seen. i especially love the pieces that really take into account the era that this is all happening and really try to embrace the 1930s in their artstyle and in their character designs. absolutely phenomenal.

Welcome to Night Vale: 11/10, only downfall is that there isn't enough of it. I've never seen a fandom so openly embrace differing designs for a character with a nondescript appearance-- i've seen so little (current) discourse over varying cecil designs, it's so peaceful. I love how the spooky and unique vibe brought by the podcast is somehow always replicated/found in the art as well-- and the characters are so, so fun to see drawn out. Lab coats are by far one of the best articles of clothing ever.

Red Valley: 11/10, once again NOT ENOUGH FANART!!!! You guys make gordon and warren come to life i swear, the amount of pure friendship i can feel emanating from yall's art is so wholesome and it never fails to make me smile. it doesn't matter what your design is, bryony is always somehow just slightly 'uncanny valley'-ish and i adore the separate interpretations of her!!! always makes me want to relisten to the entire thing all over again.

The Magnus Protocol: 12/10 just like her father, i love the differing designs for everyone (why settle on just one design for sam or alice or gwen??? i want em all!!) and it's soooo creepy but can also be rly funny a lot of times!! props for having funny characters i guess haha. i love how mysterious and ominous a lot of it is too-- really embodies that 'we don't know what's going on here and we're sort of scared to find out' vibe that the podcast brings. super cool, i love it!!!

Hollow Knight X Warrior Cats Crossover???

as a former warrior cats kid, the urge always remains to see if you can turn a piece of media into Warrior Cats, so

let's say, Hallownest is now horizontal instead of vertical. It is bordered on all sides by mountains, except for Kingdom's edge, which is bordered by a massive Thunderpath. I'll make a map of what all the lands in Hollow Knight would look like in this case. Hallownest (the land, not the political entity) would be called Hallowed Vale.

The Higher Beings are split into a variety of different circumstances.

The Radiance was a Clan Leader who created a cult of personality around her. She was killed and spends most of the story as a StarClan ghost.

The Pale King and the White Lady are both immortal beings a la Rock

Unn, or Slugstar as I would like to call her, is a Clan Leader

The Nightmare's Heart is a Dark Forest ghost

I'm not dead certain on names, really, but I think the Pale King would call himself Whitestar for the cats.

The Pale King's kingdom is PaleClan.

The moths were RadiantClan, but were absorbed into PaleClan. Now none of the Radiant lineage remains apart from the Seer.

Mantis Village is WasteClan. They are probably the only 'Clan' here that fully operates how a warrior cats Clan should right now. They had an alliance with PaleClan to defend against...

Deepest is now DeepClan. The cats of DeepClan are alive, but infected. The Weavers were a travelling group of cats who cultivated spiders and could make textiles with spider silk. They were welcomed by DeepClan, and stayed with them for many years, but left when the infection started to spread to DeepClan.

The Mushroom Clan are... I guess MushroomClan lol. I thought of FungalClan, but MushroomClan does the job just fine. They were absorbed into PaleClan, but retain a degree of separation. They have their own camp, but ultimately answered to WhiteStar. They are alive but infected.

The Mosskin are GreenClan. They have independence, but were forced by WhiteStar to allow PaleClan warriors to pass through their territory freely along the main path (Pilgrims' Way). Later, PaleClan seized half of their territory (the Queen's Gardens) in lieu of Slugstar's (Unn's) weakness. They are alive, but infected.

The Hive is HiveClan. They refused PaleClan's rule and isolated themselves from the rest of the Clans. They are alive but infected.

The Colosseum of Fools was EdgeClan. They used to be a fully functional clan, but their leader (Lord Fool) died with no deputy and everything descended into chaos. Now it is a deadly arena where all kinds of creatures are brought in to face off against Warriors. Most long-term residents are uninfected, but some visitors are infected. The arena is an empty, dilapidated warehouse by the side of the Thunderpath.

Dirtmouth is DirtClan, who lived in the wasteland north of Hallowed Vale. Warriors of DirtClan kept being enticed into PaleClan, leaving the only one left the elderly leader (Elderbug). He has stayed in place to help passing travellers who want to enter the Vale.

Unsure if I want to make the Flukes into a post-PaleClan warrior Clan, or just a pack of rats...rabbit warren perhaps? That would be fitting considering Flukemarm...

The Dream Realm is StarClan, and the Nightmare Realm is the Dark Forest, naturally.

I think the Void is just the Void, and the actual story of the Hollow Knight is not changed much.... I'm not sure how the Vessels would come to be considering cats can't lay eggs. Perhaps the White Lady eats a herb tainted with water from the Abyss Lake, which Whitestar believes would poison the kits and cause them to be 'empty'....perhaps 'void' is a toxic substance found in the Abyss Lake, which was caused by pollution. Perhaps all the Twolegs left because they couldn't figure out a way to deal with it. Perhaps the toxin twisted the cats' spirits and connected them to the emptiness that greets them after their Second Death.

Perhaps Whitestar, unable to kill the Radiance a second time, tries to trap her inside the 'second death void' of one of his 'empty' children - The Hollow Warrior??? The Dreamers, of course, serving the same purpose they did in Hollow Knight.

EDIT: I forgot the Radiance kind of had a thing with the Void which would require her not to be just a normal leader. She can be a deity of StarClan if she likes. So the Pale King can't kill her but can banish her. Perhaps the Ancient Civilization (VoidClan, if you must) made their home around the Abyss Lake, and because of their proximity to the void toxin they ceased to exist after death. This made the Radiance mad because that meant less spirits in StarClan for her to lord over. Then, perhaps this caused her to seek out worship in mortals, which led to the founding of RadiantClan.
