I'm actually going to severely cut down the travel time and distance. Running strictly from the walktime we see (one minute and fifteen seconds), then applying a generous five-times multiplier, I'm happy to give them seven minutes of walking through a desert. It's a desert, they'll get worn down Very Quickly, it's not a stretch to assume that they're going to run out of things to "at least" about and have Brooklynn shed her outer layer after two songs on the playlist. Gonna assume maybe 600 meters for a biome diameter, giving it a footprint of four square kilometers. Not a huge stretch for a major complex. Puts the island at about eight to ten kilometers with the longest straight line...fairly reasonable.

As for the snowmobile speed, they were dragging a huge animal behind them. That's not going to give them a ton of speed. Looking it up, looks like they might make a comfortable 7mph? Slow it to 6, make it one mile in ten minutes? That's probably about their travel time.

Trying to calculate the distance here.

What is that? A mile? A kilometer? I believe that's about the diameter of the biome. Obviously, that's not all the way to the horizon--there are plenty of "mountains" between.
