and to yap about doll leon - IRL
shipping from china to the us takes so fuckin long and i'm chewing on my finger bones desperate for his body to finally just say 'shipped!'
also, haven't bought it yet, but i got a place that's selling leather scraps..... i'm pampering my lil leon and making him a vest. (afraid to do it yet because the measurements are probably going to be slightly off from my first body)
#i need to learn to tafg shit properly njwsndhjms#doll leon#pocket leon ?#once i build my storage rig (like a weapons harness but for snacks and goth/punk shit) he's going to hang out on it#i do have a waist pouch re2r style - ish#he can vibe inside

I found a hoodie sewing pattern that works for Amber’s red jacket
The more i think about this the more i want to do it
And like. When will I use this cosplay? When? I’ve never been to a con. They’re also expensive. I probably work halloween again, and while costumes are allowed at one of the store locations, I’m working at the other now and dont know if this one will also allow it/if a modest amber cosplay is okay/if the starbucks department allows costumes
But also. Fun. 🥺
#kiwi rambles#obviously this would be expensive#the amazon purchase of clothes and accessories would cost around $150#then theres fabric and foam and patterns for the rest i dont know what will cost#and while some of this is definitely exclusively for the cosplay#(the shirt and shorts and white leggings and jacket and hairtie)#other things can be used for multiple scenarios#(the corset snd the waist/thigh strap pouch i found on amazon and the white ankle boots)#heck i may just buy the corset and pouch thingy for a theoretical renfaire outfit#and worry about making an amber cosplay later

As an artist, I would also like to express my opinion on the rain code's character designs, if you don't mind, and since other people discussing this too
I actually like the character designs and don't have many issues with that. However, after observing people's reactions before the game's release, one of the main complaints about the character designs was that the colors looked dirty and the combination with the neon colors made the design look worse for them. And I can understand why they think like that. However, I still tend to think that people after Danganronpa, where the colors of the character designs were more grounded, are simply not used to seeing more neon designs. Well, it’s also a matter of preference
As for the clothing elements, some characters do have the problem that some of the design elements don't make sense. For me, the most striking example of this is Fubuki's design. I really don’t understand why she needs so many layers of clothing, especially translucent ones...
But overall, I can't say that rain code's character designs are bad. It's not the best design I've seen, but it's definitely not bad, and certainly not ugly
But wait, there's another perspective! I've touched upon Rain Code characters' neon color schemes in the latest ask, so I'll try not to sound like a broken record. I do agree that preference definitely plays a big part in how everyone judges the designs. That can be said for almost all things under the sun, really. Everyone's got their own acquired tastes, which isn't a bad thing by any means. And if anything, this whole discussion I've been endearingly swarmed by proves that! We've all got our own ideas of what works and what doesn't in our eyes!
I personally don't mind Fubuki's design, but I can see whatcha mean by the layering. I don't this is much of a fix (and don't take my words seriously I'm just throwin' an idea at the wall like pasta that doesn't stick), but maybe slightly shortening the bottom of her shirt so it doesn't overlap her shorts as much might not make it feel as layered??? Gives it a little less of a dress-like appearance in favor of something that looks a little more casual or 'adventure-ready' while still having that flowy-ness to give that fanciful, prim vibe. I'm not qualified for this type of critique, have mercy on me.
#maybe the pouch around her waist could be a shoulder bag? *gets hit by a tomato*#master detective archives: rain code#rain code

I know the fashion industry is a Lie(TM), but I wonder how fat models ALSO always look way cuter in everything than regular fat people. Is it shapewear? Are they shapewear-ed to hell and back?
#plus sized models are always so... smooth.#it's like they are fat yes. but all their curves are smooth continuous lines.#whereas I think regular fat people are like... blobby?? you know??#you can see rolls and pouches and such on regular fat people wearing plus-size fashion#you can definitely always see my pouch! I strategically dress to obscure it#and then you see fat models wearing a high-waist shorts and a crop top and the front of the shorts is 100% SMOOTH.#and I'm like 'WHERE ARE YOUR BLOBS LADY'#is it just the self-selecting bias of models or is it the shapewear. somebody tell me.

Working on a little bit of all the SCII OCs lol#Ft. my first intentional doodle of KUP - trying to plan around ways to differentiate him from how I draw the rest of my fave VUX#I'm thinking he might just have a slightly longer face lol - slightly longer tendrils slightly longer trunk#Stretched lad lol#The return of NEJ! Something ive noticed since i started corsetting is that a lot of women on tv are wearing corsets (or maybe some other kind of waist trainer)
Heres an obvious example:
The visible ribbing is likely part of her costume, the real tell is how you never see Seven of Nine bend at the waist - when she needs to get low to the ground, she always crouches with her back straight. It's easy to assume that thats an acting choice to make her seem stiffer and more robotic, but anyone who's worn a corset will know that thats how you have to move in a corset.
Point is: if seeing women on tv with perfectly sculpted hips and flat tummies makes you feel insecure, remember that they dont just look like that on their own. Theyve got a tightly-laced exoskeleton of steel ribs holding their bodies in that shape.
#im not even a girl anymore and i still cant shake these beauty standards#even if youre not consciously holding yourself to those standards it can be hard#seeing all these gorgeous women on tv with tiny waists and flat tummies#.txt#ESPECIALLY characters who wear jumpsuits if theres NO belly pouch they are DEFINITELY wearing some kind of waist trainer

Fun things you can do when staying in a hotel:
• shot the hotel milk capsules
• buy an entire birthday cake and eat it (not in slices, that ruins the fun)
• Eat tucked in bed (if you had strict parents growing up. This is revolutionary trust)
• stay up until 5am
• take LONG showers because that bill is NOT yours ♡
• long skin care routines in a hotel bathroom hits different
• Go to a Tescos Extra... or any massive supermarket, buy some food, squirrel it back at the hotel room, and have a picnic
• idk. Just be feral.
#i bought some croissants and some nutella this time. because that's cheaper and more fun than buying breakfast at the hotel#i don't like hot food in the morning unless it's like hot pastries. but anyways.#so what's the point of paying £15+ for breakfast when all i have is 5 small pastries and apple juice because they never have iced coffee??#i paid £3 for some protein yoghurt. a pack of 4 butter croissants and a pot of Nutella. it's so cheap here honestly#i thought the strawberry pouch was like... compote. but it was just. yoghurt. and that hurt a lot.#this is why you read the packaging guys#who the fuck puts yoghurt in a pouch. only compote goes in a pouch. stupid.#i love Glastonbury. can you tell.#like this has made me so happy. the bed is so comfy#fuck bristol. love Glastonbury#i just bought 5 suit trousers for £85. yk how cheap that is?!#and they're like... proper price £80 EACH. got to love Next Clearance outlet. one pair was literally £5#this time they had a good amount of my waist size#which slays because they only seem to sell 30“ and above for suit trousers most places#BUT THEY EVEN DID 26“ AND I WAS SO HAPPY#mENS SUIT TROUSERS IN 26“ FINALLY GUYS FINALLY

*Vern sighs*
No... I um.. haven't
*she exaggerates a pout but perks up at the compliment*
Thank you!!! I'm just glad you all like them~! Oh, we should explore the games together and-
-and give them a moment. Don't suffocate Vern's guests.
*Shirley's eyes light up at the new voice as she spins around to see a girl with short auburn hair approaching the group. Shirley happily bounces over and hugs her*
Hello~ it's ummm... been a while.
It has. You look like death.
... you umm.. always say that...
*the newcomer gives Shirley's hand a small squeeze before looking at everyone*
Afternoon, everyone. Call me Folia, I'm in charge of autumn.
Book 2: A Century of Circumstance
Chapter 3: A Matter of Seasons
The small echo of the door and a few distant voices catch his attention. Right, he had friends to entertain. It was not the time for fleeting shadows in his mind. Giving Steel a practiced smile, he tries to force the tremble out of his voice.
"I'm umm... I'm fine... I-" a handkerchief being held out to him gives him pause. "O-oh what's ummm... thank you... but um... why..?"
"..You're crying."
A grimy feeling twists in his stomach. He didn't realize that he was.
"O-oh... I.. um... thank you..."
Gingerly taking the handkerchief, his hand lightly trembles as he uses it. Steel's hand hovers between them for a few moments. Just as he starts to drop it, Vern passes the fabric back.
"L-later... umm... I um... we can talk more then..."
"Sure," Steel straightens, hands returning to his pockets. "Don't push yourself. Don't want you overblotting."
He tilts his head at that with a smile, "you don't want to ummm... match?"
A light laugh is breathed into the air, "no~ not like that."
Good. Steel smiling eases his mind. Stopping to think too much now would... no. Vern wasn't going there. Not yet... not when he still has so much to do.
Turning towards the guest house, he waves for the others to join them.
