"Mommy when is Mama coming back", Livvy complained as you put the cookie tray in the oven. It was currently christmas eve and You + Livvy were currently making Cookies. "Um soon sweetie, she had a unexpected practice tonight", You said turning to the two year old.

“Practice on Christmas Eve?” Livvy pouted, her little eyebrows furrowing as she swung her tiny legs from her spot on the counter. “That’s not fair!”

You smiled softly, wiping your hands on a dish towel before walking over to her. Picking her up gently, you balanced her on your hip. “I know, baby. But Mama’s working hard so she can play her best. And she promised she’d be home soon, remember?”

Livvy’s pout softened slightly, though she still clung to you, her little arms wrapping around your neck. “She better be home for Santa.”

“She wouldn’t miss Santa for anything,” you reassured her, pressing a kiss to her temple.

As the smell of cookies began to fill the kitchen, you distracted Livvy by helping her roll out more dough and cut festive shapes—stars, snowflakes, and trees. Just as you placed the second tray in the oven, the sound of the front door unlocking echoed through the house.

“Merry Christmas Eve, family!” Paige’s familiar voice rang out, followed by the thud of her bag hitting the floor.

Livvy gasped dramatically, scrambling off her stool and running toward the front door as fast as her tiny legs could carry her. “Mama!”

Paige crouched down just in time to scoop Livvy up into her arms, spinning her around before pressing playful kisses all over her face. “There’s my girl! Were you good while I was gone?”

Livvy giggled, her pout from earlier long forgotten. “We made cookies!”

“Cookies?” Paige raised an eyebrow as she stood, carrying Livvy toward the kitchen. “Without me?”

You smiled, leaning against the counter. “Someone had to hold down the fort while you were off being a superstar.”

Paige grinned as she set Livvy down and walked over to you, immediately pulling you into a warm hug. “Missed you,” she murmured softly, kissing your cheek.

“Missed you too,” you whispered back, letting the warmth of the moment wash over you.

“Mommy said Santa’s coming soon!” Livvy interjected, tugging on Paige’s sleeve.

Paige turned back to her, eyes wide with faux surprise. “He is? Then I better hurry and help with those cookies. Santa’s going to need them after flying all night!”

With a laugh, you all settled into the cozy rhythm of decorating cookies together Livvy smearing frosting on everything while Paige stole bites of dough when she thought you weren’t looking. By the time the cookies were finished and Livvy was fast asleep under the twinkling glow of the Christmas tree, Paige wrapped her arms around you from behind.

“Thank you for holding it all together tonight,” she whispered, her voice soft.

You smiled, turning in her embrace to meet her gaze. “You’re here now. That’s all that matters.”

And as the snow quietly fell outside, the two of you stood there in the warmth of your home, knowing that this—love, laughter, and a sleepy two year old was the perfect Christmas gift.

I thought I was ready not to cry or how chapter 159 had tricked me.

I read the new chapter twice. I watched each frame twice. I even read that chapter of the novel twice today.

And you know what, dear readers? TO HELL WITH ALL OF IT!

Warning! This chapter is mostly about Derrick.

A familiar face, right? At least for me, because my mother also got angry and tore the leaves out of the notebook when I wrote incorrectly something.

But here Derrick is scolded not because of bad handwriting, but because he dared to question Winter's involvement in the investigation, while Derrick himself was removed from it.

And you yourself know that the phrase "I love you more than the child of my best friend!" is very pleasant, but not always true. :^

Weird day, weird photos.

Otobüs geç kaldı ve bi sonraki trene yarım saat vardı ve bende AH'a gittim. Okaliptus görünce aldım.

Bugün işe giderken de aynı atkıdan takmış bir sürü insan görmüştüm, bunlarda da vardı. Meğer festival varmış o yüzdenmiş ve festivalin merkezi de Brabant'mış, yani benim bölgem.

Çocuk Brabant'taysan bira içmen lazım deyip bana birasını uzattı, o zaman sarhoş olduğuna emin oldum çünkü bir Dutch günahını bile paylaşmaz.
