I was wondering how many people from Mystic Falls did you keep alive in TW4 !!! 👀👀 In TVD/TO, by the time Klaus was released, Enzo(💔), Stefan, and Tyler got killed. In addition, Elena woke up and took the cure with Damon.

Not that I really care about any of them (except my dad, aka Lorenzo St John), but I did notice that you mentioned Stefan visiting the girls during these 5 years, and after a worrisome amount of times I re-read that story, I got curious!

Is Enzo alive? Is Elena awake? Is Enzo alive? Is Tyler alive? Did Elena and Damon take the cure? Is Enzo alive? Did Alaric create the school, but in a different building? Is Enzo alive?

I remember you saying that, besides Alaric, someone from MFS will make an appearance, and i kinda want to know how much canon did you bring in to understand how much fucked up they are 😭😭😭 (my take was Bonnie as a "special guest", due to the whole Hollow thing, but I know you're a Klefan girl, so I wouldn't be too surprised if Stefan would be the one to show up)

So in my heart, and this might come up at some point in the story (I had a whole extra scene planned where they would talk about some of the things Klaus had missed out on in chapter 2, but then I deleted all the extras at the end of that chapter, starting with that scene I posted as an Outtake, because it wasn't vibing): Damon is the one who died to save the city or whatever, and Stefan is very much alive. Enzo is also alive because I can't forgive Stefan for killing him, so that never happened. Elena was heartbroken and in mourning for a while after waking up, but let's face it, she was always supposed to end up with Stefan anyway, so they are now both human and happily together (I think it hasn't been enough time for her to have finished Med School and be married with kids yet). The school does exist because Stefan gave it to Alaric on Damon's behalf (they were besties, after all) when he was looking for a place. It's not Jo's and Alaric's school for gifted kids or whatever the hell that's called (Jo is also alive, if you remember from TW2, because Mikaelsons were present while Kai was wreaking havoc). Tyler is dead, Damon still killed him (fuck Tyler tbh). As for the special guest, I could keep the mystery, but the truth is I think I've already mentioned this a few times? It's Bonnie. She will play a part in the resolution at the end of the season. I could bring Stefan back as well, but in this context it doesn't really make much of a difference because Klaus is a happily married man 😂 There is nothing for Stefan here. yes and no. My mom met up with her cousin who she hadn't seen in a while and when she heard her name (she already knew it she just hadn't thought about it) she realized she loved it. My dad was supposed to name me since I'm the second child but he liked the name too so his pick is my second name.

idk, probably a few days ago thinking about my ships. Either hyde and Jackie or klaroline... or the fact that I'm single and never gonna find love.

no but I really want to have one one day.

I have a MASSIVE crush on him. I mean, a hot man baby-sitting a group of little shitheads? my weakness. I love the way he cares about them and his glow up is one of the best i’ve ever seen in a TV series. He went from a bastard to a literal green flag.

ANYWAYS! I know you've been going through a writer's block lately, and I read a post that said something about asking/commenting about the fictions to help the "stucked" autor, SO!

I've been re-reading TW III (shocking, I know) and those little hints about married!kc are just 😭😭 my heart melts, really, although... I was never really sure you'd get them married, mostly due to Care's speech to Cami about how Klaus supposedly sees weddings, and because I remember you saying that you weren't planning on giving them an actual marriage, but rather the closest thing next to it. I checked to comments to see other thoughts, and I saw one of you reply saying that you were completely against married!kc at the start, but then you were slowing changing your mind about it...

so, what was it that made you say "fuck it, I'm gonna ring the bells"?? is it because many people asked you to do it, so you are throwing us a bone, or is it something else?? I'm really interest on hearing the process of your change of heart <3

Objectively, I still think Klaus is not the marrying kind (in canon context, at least). That man has been alive for a thousand years. He's the vampire of vampires, one who sees humans as a lower species. He's used to getting what he wants by conquering and subjugating because he can. Why would he ever submit himself to an inherently human institution that, throughout history, has served as a tool for various types of social, political and religious control? The ceremony itself doesn't mean anything to him. He probably thinks it's ridiculous and performative, not to mention extremely frail. You can just change your mind and get a divorce, or the good old spouse murder, and then what? What's even the point?

(Just to be clear: I'm not personally preaching against weddings and marriages here btw, it's just how I think Klaus might have seen it.)

If you look at it from the sentimental side, Klaus spent almost a thousand years saying that love is a sign of weakness, a character flaw. He carried his siblings, the only people he genuinely cared about, inside coffins because he didn't trust them enough not to leave him, betray him or end up captured and killed by one of his enemies. Now, why would he want to marry someone, thus exposing yet another vulnerability to be exploited?

Having said that 😂

When we first see Klaus in TVD he's trying to surround himself with a whole new OP supernatural species that will have no choice but to stand with him. They will protect him, they will go to war for him, do whatever he asks them to and they will never leave (or that's what he thought, anyway) because they don't have a choice. That is the only way Klaus knows how to trust people: by completely removing their capacity to challenge him. That's how paranoid he is.

But as the story progresses, and especially with The Wolf in particular because it takes their relationship much further than the show, Klaus realizes there is more than one way to earn people's trust. I feel like that's one of the pillars of his relationship with Caroline. He could've just compelled her (in TVD, not TW because she's a witch), but he never did because he wanted more from her than obedience. All of the things he liked about her - her personality, her honesty, her fire, her loyalty - would've been essentially erased or made meaningless if he'd compelled her. Which puts her in direct opposition to how he related to his hybrids, right? He pretends to be fine with people who have no choice but to follow him, but what he really craves is more real than that. He surrounds himself with people who will worship the ground he walks on after some forged "gratitude" for releasing them of their curse, but he is fascinated by how gutsy Caroline is to look him in the eye and tell him the things that no one else will dare to. What he really seeks but doesn't have the courage to admit is that he wants someone who will choose to be with him. And that's the difficult part, because it can't be conquered or taken, it has to be earned.

Klaus comes from a place of paranoia and extreme distrust of everything and everyone around him, especially after Mikael in New Orleans, and he feels very isolated and alone. He tells Stefan about that, right? The loneliness of immortality. When The Wolf starts, in spite of how he and Caroline were having a bit of a thing before it, he's not sure she would want to stay with him. Actually, he thinks the first chance she gets, she's gonna bail. It's why he's mad when he thinks she wants to terminate the pregnancy. It's not about the baby (it's never about the baby), he couldn't care less about the damn baby at that point, it's the fact that he thinks she's trying to get rid of him, as if that pregnancy is the one thing that is holding them together at that point and so if she's no longer pregnant, she doesn't have to be with him. What I'm very inarticulately trying to say is that his initial approach to Caroline being pregnant is the same he had with his hybrids, as if the baby is a version of a sire bond. It's crazy and dysfunctional, yes, but it's how Klaus rationalizes it, how he thinks he gets to keep people around him - either through daggering them or giving them no choice.

Slowly, Klaus internalizes the fact that Caroline is choosing him. She tells him that a few times throughout the story, and even when he's hallucinating her at the beginning of TW4, because that's something that she has said before and that has stuck with him for reason. She could've left him at any point, but she didn't because she wants to be with him. It's a choice that she has made not because he forced her to, but because she's in love with him. She protects him, she fights for him, she walks through hellfire for him because she wants to, not because she must. He has earned her trust and her love and her loyalty. And that is something that is new for Klaus in his one thousand years of life, at least at this magnitude and with this much clarity and certitude.

So I think when I started writing TW3, which was them in their domestic era, it started to feel like something Klaus might actually do. Not just because it obviously does mean something to Caroline and he would basically do anything for her (even though she never asks for it, which in itself is something, because Caroline comes from relationships that made her feel so insecure and unsafe that she would've held on to a ring like a lifeline, but with Klaus she simply does not need hard evidence to feel safe and reassured, she knows how Klaus feels about her, she's very comfortable in their relationship, she knows that what offers her means a lot more than a thousand weddings to other people ever would - even though she does still love a good wedding lol), but because it suddenly makes sense to him. Not the big party, or the tradition of it, or making it official or anything of the sort, but as a way to externalize what he feels. There is a symbolism to it that while not ideal, it might be the closest to thing to expressing just how devoted he is to her and how she is, pure and simple, eternity for him. When that comes from someone who has lived for as long he has, and who has been as cynical as he was for as long as he was, it does mean something, even if nothing else does.

There is a territorial factor to it as well, of course. 😌 He's a very possessive man and so he wants everyone to know Caroline is his, and it's why it first came to him during the thing with Jackson, but it's more than just that. If it was just about that, he wouldn't do it. He is at a point where he no longer has any doubts about how Caroline feels for him (although there will be a little something something on that front at the beginning of TW4, just because they've been apart for so long, but it will be quickly dispelled).

The most sacred thing for Klaus was the vow he took with his siblings when they fled Viking Falls. They stuck together through everything because of that. He knows the value of a vow and a promise. And he wants a version of that with Caroline. It's the first time in his life when he contemplates genuinely offering that to someone other than his family. There are a million ways he could go about it, probably, but he knows asking her to marry him is the one that will be most representative to her, because of the age where she was born and how she grew up, etc.

And so that is why I decided that Klaus was going to buy a ring even though I crossed my heart and hoped to die a million times for years when people asked me about that. 😂 I just think it's the natural course this story has taken. It's long enough that it eventually made sense to me that he might do it.

Does any of that make sense???? I don't know! I just typed my stream of thought and hoped for the best and now I'm afraid to read it again, so apologies if it's just crazy words.

Now if only I can get back to writing and actually get to that part. 🥲 Pray for me 🙏

I wanted to ask you two things:

1. I know you get asked this a lot, but is there any chance we will get an update this weekend or the next? 🙏🏻🙏🏻 (I'm asking specifically about the weekend because, from what I remember, those are the days you usually update, but you know, I wouldn't be opposed to a surprise👀)

2. this is more a "personal" question. So, I noticed a few times that Klamille fans bring up the fact that "Klaus called Camille his soulmate." I usually try to engage as little as I can with anything related to that ship (I'll never understand people who do the opposite. Don't like? Keep scrolling.) but I was genuinely getting curious, so i decided to look up the scene... Now, I'm not usually one that does a lot of slander on ship/characters I don't like, not publicly at least, but GOD, How the hell did the Klamille fans managed to came up with the whole soulmate thing?😭 having a "deep connetion" ≠ soulmates. He had a deep connection with Elijah, Rebekah, CAROLINE, Marcel, and even Hayley. he used to have one with aurora, too. Now, Camille is literally a therapist, IT'S PART OF HER JOB TO ESTABLISH A CONNECTION WITH HER PATIENTS. so, really, maybe I'm biased, but I can't see the soulmate thing even under a magnifying glass. Anyways, all of that just to ask you, what's your take? I'm pretty sure you will agree with me, but I just saw that specific scene that everyone keeps referring to whilst you watched the whole show multiple times, so ofc you have a bigger view of the whole thing.

For the first question, there won't be an update this week. There's a small chance for next week, but it really depends on how much time I get to write and edit, which is unclear. But I'm almost finished with the chapter. There's a key scene I'm getting a little stuck on, but the final three ones should be more straightforward because they're less character-centered and more plotty, those are usually easier to get through for me.

As for the second, I was very confused for a moment because when did Klaus ever say Cami was his soulmate... 😂 I think you mean the scene where he tells Hayley that the person he shared a connection with is dead? That seems like a bit of a reach for me lol Doesn't he talk about his connection to Caroline as well in 5x11? By those standards, he has two soulmates? And I'm sure he said similar stuff about Aurora, he calls her a kindred soul or something, which is a lot closer to saying someone is your soulmate than saying you share a connection. Either way, to me it really seems like a bit of a stretch lol But I guess Klamille fans were given crumbles really, their ship was very badly treated and kind of lived in the shadow of another ship, so they do what they can with what they're given. IMO, Klaus saying to someone that he intends to be their last love and will wait for them for as long as it takes, considering he's immortal, is a lot more meaningful, but that's just me 😂 I'd never tell someone that they are wrong though, it's their right to interpret the shows whichever way they want and people are always going to be biased about these things. Ship and let ship!

This might sound weird, but sometimes I watch 1 or 2 clips of TO while reading TW, just to have a clearer picture of each character (especially those like Freya, Vincent and Marcel who never showed up on Tvd) and also to see what you changed from the Story.

Now, call me biased, but to this day I don't understand how your version is 100x more emotional and logical than the actual show 😭😭

An entire team of people who do scripts and directories for A LIVING somehow can't reach the level of your fanfiction. Granted, they give you a very big base to work with, but still.

I watched the clip where Klaus talked to Hayley right before going to Hope, just to see what she said, since they have a different dynamic than Klaroline (both in canon and TW) and i was SO disappointed 😭😭😭

This is so nice of you to say. 🥹 Whenever I get a stupid message about how it's basically the same thing as TO, objectively I know it isn't because I know how much work I put into it, but there's always that little voice of impostor syndrome whispering in my head. You have no idea how it brightens my day to read messages like this. Especially since you went back to rewatch the show!

That chapter in particular has a hell of a lot of stuff that was nowhere near the episode. It took me forever to get the vibes right because I wanted to change how a lot of things were portrayed, which requires a series of nuanced shifts that might seem simple but are not that easy to get right, especially to someone like me, not a native speaker 😂 Sometimes the words just refuse to come. 🥲 But this sums up what I have been trying to do from the very start. I keep the plot points (most of them, anyway), but that doesn't mean the story is the same because so much of the context is changed, there are so many scenes that aren't on the show, which creates major differences in how the characters relate to one another. I wanted to give to give depth to this fucking show, make things make sense and, above all, create a version of TO that would've kept me entertained and interested.

I could honestly write a whole ass essay about this chapter 😂 It's long as hell and I have feelings about it lol But just wanted to thank you for your very kind words ❤️ Sometimes I wonder if there's anyone still interested and enjoying this story or if I'm mostly just writing to get it out of my own system, but messages like this are a boost in confidence. 🥰🫶

I'm doing great! More than great! 😂 I have loads of work and a lot ot stuff to deal with but my team has just won two major championships, so I've never been better 😂 I spent a month with my head buried in the send with so much anxiety but for once in my life it paid off! That's the thing about being into sports, when your team sucks, it ruins your life, but when it does well, I can't even remember ever being unhappy before 😂

But anyway! About Damon. I mean, now that he' s dead, Caroline would totally tell Klaus, I just don't think there will be much room for that conversation to happen within the story. Klaus can't cause an incident by murdering him now, but it's still something that's bound to cause major disruption because he will be mad at the whole thing anyway, so I feel like it would distract from what is currently happening in the story. Klaus is not someone who would simply let something like that go. Damon might be dead, but Stefan and Elena are not. 😬

And yeah, you're correct. Damon's abuse was the reason Caroline decided to go back to practing magic.

As for Bonnie, her parts aren't fully planned yet! 😂 I know what I need her to do, but the scenes are more open, so Enzo could always make a cameo!

And you didn't ask, but just wanted to say that I am writing (slowly, slowly...) and I'm about halfway through Chapter 6. I'm trying to have at least two chapters done so I can have quicker updates between them, and hopefully at least one of them will be out this year.

So I decided, instead of going straight into editing the next chapter, to try and churn out another one. I feel like S04E01 and 02 are kind of interconnected and so it would make sense to have them posted with a shorter interval between the two.

But I may have overestimated my writing skills, cause chapter 2 is just kicking my ass so bad. 🫠

But we'll see. I'm about 75% done. That last part is seriously trying to kill me.

And then of course I'll have to go back and edit, which... Thoughts and prayers are very welcome.
