Okay so I wanna talk about how people use that news paper clipping (will add it below)

If you can’t read it, the basic summary is Micah and his father killed a farmer and his wife. Micah the second(I’ll just call him Micah the second) was 38 and Micah was 17 years old, from what we know from the game and Micah literally saying it himself that his father was a bad man, and we have no idea what his mother was like, maybe she was mistreated by his father, Left or was bad too. Anyways back to the original conversation is that no 17 year old is gonna kill someone without being influenced to do it, obviously Micah the third was pressured by his father to kill people. He says it himself, “my daddy said sympathy is for the weak” so his father most likely groomed him into crime (or whatever word you use for that) and his brother Amos luckily got away from that mess and started a family. It’s obvious that Micah the third was influenced by his father.

off topic I wanna talk about his relationship with his brother

Micah brother doesn’t exactly hate him, and something I wanna talk about is that Micah is atheist and Amos is Christian, Amos had the chance to change from being a outlaw but Micah didn’t because his brother didn’t want Micah near him anymore. So Micah continued on the outlaw path, I wish we knew more about the bell family.

And last but not least, I wanna talk about some of the narcissistic people in the fandom and how stupid they sound.

“Micah is a grapist” The thing is, we don’t know that and nobody in the fandom knows that he is or isn’t, it’s not confirmed and it’s a theory. Also we don’t know if he actually did it with Jenny, he could’ve been lying just to gain attention and we don’t know if it was non-con or not. “His looks give off pervert vibes” that’s a bit odd to say considering his actor looks like him? It’s really rude to say too, it’s kinda sad how Peter got death threats and people say “That’s how you know he plays good as a villain” that’s how you know people are too sensitive to be playing a game about outlaws

Yet again, they don’t call out any other characters for it? Like Dutch, bill, and Javier and harass people for liking Micah.

“Micah’s racist and you support his actions!” That’s the way Micah was brought up, although it’s still wrong and nobody supports it. Do they support Arthur killing people? No I don’t think they do

Firstly, I do absolutely agree on Micah's upbringing. I have a brief post on it already ("Upbringing.") and I very much think that his dad set him up for failure very early on, giving him no chance to pick his path himself.

Amos and Micah were both influenced by their father as all three did crimes together, but Amos was lucky enough to get himself out of it, while Micah sadly couldn't. That's the very reason I think Micah ended up killing his own father; never having a chance to choose his own path.

Now, I don't blame Amos for disliking Micah, but I wish there was just a little sympathy he had for his brother, because he himself was in Micah's shoes for a good portion of both of their lives.

Unrelated: I find it very interesting Amos is the only on here that has his own name, and isn't Micah IV or something. Do you think this also influenced something between the two of them, that made them more distant? I know I would be pissed if my brother got his own name, while I had to continue family tradition. Just a thought.

Now, the Jenny Kirk situation is very tricky; we don't get much information about it. All he really says is that he 'had her', said she was a 'dirty little thing', how he felt for Lenny because he 'got her before he could', and last how she 'might have been carry Micah IV.', but that's really it.

We don't get anything else from Micah about it, or in the game in general. That really means it's left for interpretation of the fandom, which we know most will say that it was a non-con situation. Now—maybe a little controversial—I don't think that he necessarily assaulted her. I mean, he isn't ugly to everyone. Let's talk camp interactions; he fake-flirts with Susan Grimshaw, who plays into it. Would she be doing that if she thought him unattractive? I don't think so. Then again, I do wish we had some confirmation on this, like with other characters (Colm, Dutch etc.)

While on topic of that, I want to mention another thing. Whether or whether not Micah is a rapist, I think the fact that Dutch is confirmed to be one in RDR1 is just wayyy too overlooked, while everyone makes their speculations and accusations on Micah through a singular interaction with him. In RDR1, when Dutch is being described, one of the names is 'rapist' and I wish that more people talked about that, and not so much Micah's that isn't even hinted at to be an assault. But, to each their own.

Small edit: This was still wrong of Micah, considering Jenny's age. It's not exactly known, but she was very young (17-21) and absolutely out of his age range. Even if consensual between the two of them, it was very prominent that she was way too young to have sex with him, and that's on him as the older one in the situation.

Peter Blomquist getting sent threats was proof he could play an amazing villain, and it makes me pretty sad to think people don't know how to separate the character from his actor. It was pretty immature to send him literal threats, and I still sometimes see comments on his instagram, which is just insane. It's been years, and we still act this immature?

As far as Micah's racism comments go, the root is most likely also his father. But, I can't much excuse him there because I myself grew up around some very vulgar language about people of color. Not to forget, with me being Croatian, I was around when people still talked ill of Serbs because of the war. But, even as a very impressionable kid, I was able to grow myself out of it. I never spoke ill of Serbs or people of color. (Briefly while I was still around 12, but I feel that can be overlooked.) I think it's possible to change your views, and this is one of the few things where I can't much find a way to defend Micah, but I'll take into consideration his upbringing and the fact that during the Western times, a heap of people were practically all racist.

They may see themselves as vigilantes, but everyone in the gang is a bad person, that has done/is doing bad things. Micah is a bit more ruthless, that much I'll admit. But again, another ideal of his fathers and how he was brought up. "My daddy always said, sympathy is for the weak." He says even more lines like these, spreading his fathers' bad teachings because that's what he knows. But, I do find it very intriguing that he still spreads his fathers' word, even after killing him himself. Oh, Micah; my fellow daddy-issue-haver.

Have you ever thought about art and how it affects you? I think most of you, and the people running this blog, have been on the left, but have you ever been on the right?

I think some of you haven't - or, I mean, not on a (semi)professional level. Some of you are (hello hpowell in the mentions, luv ur games btw), but some of you might one day reach that weird level of non-notoriety that is still above what anybody on a daily level which produces art may ever happen.

This isn't about that, but more on the fact that being suddenly on the right, and having ideas and a conceived story then having the story be interpreted and dissected by a non-considerable audience, and see how some developed their own perceived story. On a level from an outside perspective, I have experienced that.

For example, the Perceived story of Worm is quite different from the Conceived story. How many of you didn't realize that one of the characters rapes the other? How many of you noticed the unreliable narrator and the change of tone? How many of you noticed that people developed powers on the basis of trauma - but even those without that specific event, still recreate the cycle of trauma? I mean, this is less a 'haha you didn't get it!' and more a 'wow people really read things differently!'

By the way, Worm is kinda bad. I recommend Pact. I digress! This is an essay on Controlling the Narrative and Life Imitating Art, but I have thoughts and opinion about online fiction, and how people develop their own Perceived Story independent from the Conceived Story. Like have any of you watched the Boys?

In the box, the Peceived Story of many is that the main antagonist, a white supremacist rapist, is actually the good guy by portraying the image of a good American. You would think that's obviously wrong, and people would pick up on it, however, that's where you're wrong... because you're making those same assumptions!

Both in Worm and the The Boys (yes, I used two superhero fiction to prop DYVJ. Mix and compare at home), the Conceived Narratives are not accessible to the general audience. What did Wildbow mean by saying this 12-year-old black girl was a slut? What did The Boys's creative team mean by having a main character be raped twice and treated as a joke twice? It could mean anything. The yous at home could potential go: "Wildbow was representing the misoginoir violence that young Black girls faces, and that even someone with a positive read can still be racist" and "Wildbow actually had a racial bias while writing this bit of the story". For The Boys, it may sound something like "The Writer's team is simply using the rape-as-a-joke narrative that the comic repeatedly used as a safe way to create drama as the season ending which mirrored their love interest's arc" or "Perhaps, someone has a crude idea of what is funny, and they genuinely thought this was going to funny."

At the end of the day, neither of these entities has ever come forward to explain their reasoning for choices within their book. Is it their biases? Is it them willing to try to say something? Was it just unintentional and happened? What does this mean?

You may be thinking, where does this entire post fall in for this blog which is based on a direct line of communication (but not access) to us. In a way, this is to ensure that the Conceived Narrative of DYVJ is not kept under wraps. I think, some times, it's good for them to be, and we support people making up their interpretation of things. But it's also a question of balance: it sucks to have interpretation put on you when you have never said anything about the topic or meant something that way.

Anyways, since you are all in the left seat of this book, what is your Peceived Story of Drink of Your Villain? Do you have any questions about authorial contents? Do you think some themes may be intentional or unintentional? Do you think that potential real life biases (racism, transphobia, ableism) may be affecting how this book is written unknowingly?

hey pookie wookie, ask and you shall recieve... by the end of this you'll be listening to the smiths. first, is ‘hatful of hollow’ a compilation album you should listen to first. released in 1984, it has 16 tracks. among these my favorites are ‘william, it was really nothing’, ‘hand in glove’, ‘still ill’, ‘accept yourself’, ‘this night has opened my eyes’, ‘reel around the fountain’, and ‘back to the old house’. now you might find two ‘this charming man’ versions on their discography 🤯🤯 (omgosh howww??) hatful of hollow has it’s own version, which is a demo (the john peele demo specifically). the other version is the official studio one from their self titled debut album ‘the smiths’, also released 1984. which one do i prefer?? i’m SO glad you asked, because although the remastered studio version of ‘this charming man’ sounds more official or whatever, the demo version is so delicious and more pleasant to the ears, it’s more careless and lively, i kinda feel like they refined the official ver. too much but 🤷 (imooo, listen to both and then tell me what you think 😉). after you listen to both of these albums, you might want to listen to the album ‘meat is murder’ (released ‘85) which has some tingly mind melting gems like ’that joke isn’t funny anymore’, ‘rusholme ruffians’, ‘nowhere fast’, and ‘barbarism begins at home’. strange name for an album right? well, our lead singer morissey is vegan, but at that time he was vegetarian! anyways, he’s a big joke in terms of pushing his vegan/vegetarian beliefs on everyone and being a a-hole sometimes, as well as occasionally racist 😐 but it’s okay! because there are the other members of the group (which are TOTALLY TUBULAR!) these include andy rourke (bass), johnny marr (guitar), and mike joyce (drums) as the lineup for the group. this might be a GREAT time to add that johnny marr IS SO fine and my pinterest feed has been taken over my him and many other FINE dead and old people 😊. while listening to these, i also find that listening to their basslines is AWESOME because andy is so FREAKING talented and awesome!! after that, you should take a trip over to their album, ‘the queen is dead’, released 1986, which has some beautiful music! some of my favorite tracks are ‘frankly mr. shankly’, ‘cementery gates’, ‘vicar in a tutu’, ‘i know it’s over’, and ‘never had no one ever’. anyways, THERE’S ANOTHER COMPILATION??? yes, the smiths were big fans of compiling their demos and whatnot into compilation albums. they actually had more compilation albums than actual studio albums. the more you know ✨ the next compilation is ‘louder than bombs’, released 1987. unrelated but the cover is so cool on this one idk it conveys emotion and all that deep stuff. anyways, some of my standouts from this album are ‘shiela take a bow’, ‘london’, ‘girl afraid’, ‘asleep’, ‘half a person’, ‘is it really so strange?’, and ‘shoplifters of the world unite’. they also really liked goofy ahh song titles, but i’m not complaining they delivered with their banger music. in 1987, when tensions in the group were rising, (subtle foreshadowing) they released ‘strangeways, here we come’. break for your eyes! take a breather pal. okay! i love love love love love love love love this album so muchhhh ughhhhhhhh it’s a freaking masterpiece it’s so *chef’s kiss* my favorite track is probably ‘i won’t share you’ it’s so beautiful and WOW. it shows that i know the way i feel but you won’t accept it you know?? i won’t share you. and it’s heartbrokenly beautiful... like i love this song so much i want it in my veins because this song is so majestic. literally no words can explain what i feel when i listen to this. it’s like i have hope but feel completely broken at the same time? it feels like days of loving and caring gone in a moment. warning for petty bitching about h/s/r. and a disclaimer that if you like the game, i'm not judging you. (and i won't tag this, so hopefully, nobody who doesn't want to see this will) but like. wow i really did unfortunately get weirdly fixated on wanting to make a fic for a franchise where when I look in the wiki and on youtube to try and study, I just keep getting repeatedly reminded the actual game and it's actual lore... frankly... piss me off. repeatedly. 1: so much of this lore being really fascinating but also rampantly messy, bloated in scale, and wildly overdramatic. like so much going on it starts being hard to actually connect to it. we're repeatedly told of unimaginably vast death and war and suffering. and yet it's kinda just. brain popcorn. bombastic set dressing for your goofy silly space hijinks and waifus and husbandos and pop culture references. 2: honestly. as cool as the powers and shit are in a vacuum. i dislike and distrust Every Single Aeon. without exception. yes, this probably makes me sound like some edgy atheist with a superiority complex. they still all come off to me as a net negative for the in-game universe just by existing. 3: in a similar vein. i think the magic system is a complete mess. gameplay-wise it's fine (usually....) but lorewise. just feels like throwing shit at a wall and doing whatever happens to sound cool in a given moment. (which also kinda feeds back into issue 1) 4: they really did just go and make the borisin sound extremely fucking cool, but then go "but yeah, 99.9% of them are evil and racist and crazy Designated Innately Bad Enemy Dudes, and also they live in these ~creepy~ and ~backwards~ tribes, ooooo~. and haha, yeah, the one (1) upcoming half-borisin waifu we've got is doing practically fuckall to make the optics on this seem any better. On one hand, I’m really glad that we’re getting 4 episodes in one day, we’ve been waiting soooo looooong that I feel like watching all 4 will be the equivalent of finally having gallons of water to drink when you’ve been in a desert for weeks.

But on the other hand, I feel like the time between January 19th and February 2nd is…too short? I was legit expecting one episode a week, not 4 in one day, 2 the next weeks, ya know?

I dunno, maybe I’m just a lil bitter that Helluva Boss always gets so much attention thanks to the fact that there’s overall more content for it. And I know that’s not anyones fault, and I like Helluva! I do! But it’s not the show that I’m hyperfixated on per se like Hazbin yknow?

I just feel that when the first season of Hazbin ends and the newest ep or teaser for the next HB episodes is shown at LVLUP expo or whatever Hazbin will kinda be put aside by a lot of people and it’s like…fuck man, I just think it’s kinda bullshit.

The thing with these kinda horror podcast protagonists is that they’re often made and played by white people, and that malevolent and tma’s particular brand of horror is very conducive to whiteness and the fallacy of the white perspective: the protagonist believes that the world works a certain way, feels comfortable categorizing entire groups of people as liars or evil, trusts in the police, and in Arthur’s case, (ep 24 or 25 I think) literally can’t conceive of other people creating complex architecture and stonework pre-European colonization. They are wrong, of course. (Personally, I’m writing a story where I beat the white person perspective out of Arthur like dust from a rug (PEOPLE DO THINGS FOR COMPLICATED AND DESPERATE REASONS AND CATAGORIZING ANY DEMOGRAPHIC AS ONTOLOGICALLY BAD IS STUPID AND LIMITS YOUR ABILITY TO PERCIEVE THE BEAUTY OF THE WORLD) but I’m letting the whole ‘white man in the 1930s’ thing fall by the wayside because I feel uncomfortable narrating a story of a white person learning to Not Be Racist, as someone who is A. Not white and B. Has an amateur grasp on the process of deradicalization from damaging ideologies)

Of course this is only if you want to do an analytic reading of the story through racial and ethnic lenses. Giving a protagonist your culture and ethnicity is fun and good!

Wow anon, thanks for the insight! And the more I think about it you are right about the white perspective. I guess I never really thought of that. My entire family is white (i have no idea how I came about, so dont ask) so I guess I'm used to "the white persepctive". I probably need to indulge myself with more black culture to learn more about the differing perspectives. I have never been personally discriminated against for my race so I guess I've never taken into account how colored people view the world differently from the people who have been privileged since the dawn of time (aka white people).

Thank you again for this intriguing ask. I know its okay to headcanon and what not. I usually picture Arthur white because it just makes sense and it's what I'm used to. And because that what 99.9% of the fan arts have (I mean no hate whatsoever ever. All the malevolent artists are so creative and wonderful). But thinking of white characters as "not white" makes me happy given that I myself, am not white (I'm biracial)

Also ik I’ve never seen you before but I can assure you that there’s nothing wrong with your body. Yea social media and other people might try to convince you that there is but honestly more than likely they’re just doing that because they’re insecure with their own bodies. And besides, no one is perfect. Even the most beautiful person is insecure of certain parts of their body too. Even William lololol. And since you’re young, its normal to feel this way but trust me, whenever you get older and you look back at pictures when you were the age you are now you’re going to be like “wtf?? What was I so insecure about? I literally don’t look as bad as I thought.” And I know its difficult with your dysphoria and other people but you‘ll get through this. And all the fighting and efforts will all be worth it in the end. You just need to know that you’re worthy of love regardless of how you view your body and that you do matter along with your wants and needs. And idk if you’re planning to have gender reassignment surgery in the future but if you are, ik you'll get there even if your family and others aren’t supportive of it. It’s your life afterall.
