They ended up setting up a fireplace and roasting marshmallows on top as the sun set. All in all it was a pretty good loop.

Scar woke up... feeling really off. He couldn't understand why though, this looked like a pretty regular loop...maybe a bit basic but still pretty regular. He got up to get breakfast and the feeling refused to go. He tried watching tv but even then there was something...off.

I’m surprised that 911 is already showing up for top fandom and pairing since I just got into fandom around 7x3, and I didn’t write until 7x4. If I had all the free time in the world, I’d upload all of my fics to AO3 to get more accurate stats but I’d rather spend my fandom time writing and reading. I’m excited that I will hopefully hit 100 fics for 911 when I finish my writing anniversary challenge.

Ok I'm done with Monster. I actually do like the ending! I love the implication that by not being there Johan might, after all... Have simply not been there. He became the fictional character! Who was the real Monster? Bonaparta, their mother, Johan, people like Wolf and the director of the Kinderheim 511? Grimmer? Perhaps, at a certain point, Nina and Tenma? They all had something to do with it, and I like that the series shows that, well, maybe there is a Monster inside all of us and it's our choices that arise it or keep it dormant. Or maybe not. Go figure. But that final pannel? 10/10

a/n: look at me being productive today i stand by the fact that matt would be a good friend and a good hugger.

He could tell someone was in his apartment. The air smelled sweeter when he entered and he could hear soft puffs of air coming from his couch. Whoever it was smelled like him, wearing his clothes. He realized it was you, from the fetal position you took on his couch, to the half drunk bottle of beer accompanied by two other empty bottles. You’d gotten shitfaced and crashed on his couch, and then it hit him, the scent of dried tears on your face. He drops his bag off and heads straight to the bedroom to change, not bothering you as you snooze. Once he changes, he warms up some food for his dinner, not waking you as he notices washed dishes on the drying rack and some of his leftovers missing.

He settles into bed, laying under the covers and warming up. He made sure to leave a cold glass of water and a few aspirins on the coffee table by you, as well as pull the blanket up higher. He cleaned up the beer bottles as well and put out an extra toothbrush in the bathroom.

Around two in the morning he felt eyes on him. You were padding to his bed, blanket still wrapped around your shoulder, as you weasel your way into his bed. You sidle up next to him and he hisses at the temperature of your cold body.

“Men are stupid.” You state simply, and he can still taste the beer on your breath.

“Hm?”

“Men are stupid.” And he has no warning when you suddenly burst into tears, so he sits up, pulls you close, and shushes you gently.

“Can I ask why we’re stupid?”

“He asked me on a date,” you spill, voice still slurring a bit as you sob into his chest, “and he just made fun of everything! The way I dressed, the way I laughed, and then he made me pay at the end of the night! Didn’t even offer to split.” Matt tuts and pulls you closer.

“Men are stupid.” You say again.

“That we are, my darling.” You nuzzle closer.

“Is this why you don’t date?” You ask, and he laughs.

“That tends to be more of a personal choice, but men are… interesting creatures when it comes to finding love.” You lean onto him more and he wraps an arm around you.

“I just want to be good enough.” You slur sadly and he hums.

“You are! You just need to find your person.”

“I’ve been looking for so long!”

“I know, bug. You’ll find them, I wish I could tell you who or when but you’ll get there I promise.” You wail mournfully and he laughs quietly.

“What about you?” You ask, raising your hand to pinch his cheek.

“Well,” he says, “I’ll get there too.”

“And if you don’t?”

“I’ll have you.”

“To date? Gross gross gross.”

“Wow, way to give me an ego boost. Not to date, silly. As my best friend.” You hum.

“Love you, Matty.”

“Love you too, angel. Get some rest.”

A/n: thank you for the request! sorry this took so long I nearly broke my hand, luckily i didn’t! But I still injured it and that made it difficult to type. I also didn’t know what to do for this prompt. BUT HERE IT IS! Word count: 511. Estimated read time: 1m 52s. Fluff and crack (?)

You stumbled down the hallway and until you got to the big wooden that lead into the breakfast room where the other ghouls are. You push them open with a creak and continue in you journey, to your beloved, croissant.

But not just any croissant, a croissant with egg, cheese and bacon. You grab the last one from the plate and walk over to the counter where Dewdrop is sitting and take the bar stool next to his.

“Look who finally woke up.” Dewdrop says whilst chuckling. You look at his plate and see that he got a muffin, as always. So you retort with “look who got a blue berry muffin as per usual.” he places his hand on his chest and in a mock gasp says “muffins are exquisite I’ll have you know!” while smiling at his antics you reply ”ok, whatever you say muffin man.”

you hear the door creek open and see Seestor standing right there, deciding to cut the conversation short you gently get up, give his a kiss on his mask where his cheek would be and leave quickly as to not anger Seestor.

Later you’re in Primo’s garden pulling up weeds and rearranging the decorative rocks bordering the mulch, just as your about to move a particularly heavy rock you hear footsteps behind you and you turn your head to see Dewdrop standing by Primo’s green house.

He sees that you’ve noticed him and struts over as you stand up and distracted off the excess dirt on your grading apron. “Heyy, I didn’t know you were an earth ghoul.” He says grinning while looking past you to see the pile of weeds that you had pulled up. “Wow how original Dew.” You sass back at him while playfully crossing your arms and rolling your eyes.

Neither of you hear the approaching footsteps so when a loud voice says “ok love birds” you snap your heads to Primo who is standing so close that you can almost touch him- how does he do that? “I need you- pointing to Dew -to go see Seestor for Satan knows what.” “And you- looking in your direction -to get back to work.” And you hurry to get back to work.

Finally at the end of the day you’re on your way to Secondo’s office with some papers that need to be translated in to english- when suddenly you bump in to someone and dropped all the papers as you nearly fell, had the not they caught you by your wrist. “careful there Bambi, don’t need you getting hurt.”

Dewdrop say cooing at you and pinching your cheeks. “I’m Bambi, really? Say the person who fell of their platform on stage during a show.” You reply while giggling.

Dewdrop doesn’t know what to say to this and just stands there frozen in silence while you begin to pickup your papers. Just as your about to leave, you take the opportunity to smack his butt lightly and say “see you later cutie!” Not waiting long enough to see his reaction.

honestly now that i’ve finished rewatching monster remembering all the “JOHAN IS THE SMARTEST AND GREATEST VILLAIN OF ALL TIME HE HAS 1000 IQ” takes that i usually see surrounding the show are hilarious. sorry no. johan is not a particularly realistic or even 3-dimentional character; in fact, he is basically un-realer than anyone else, mostly because he deliberately curates himself that way. all his le epic stunts (which are very clearly him reading the script at times) are informed traits for a reason. if the series was ever building up to some world-ending catastrophe it would have been bad writing.

johan is someone who (thinks he) lacks identity and constantly just replays scenes from earlier in his life over and over again, trying to sever his identity, but he really can’t. he keeps going to be the ‘foster son’ of families well after the age of adulthood. he can’t “rule the world” because every time he gains power (when he gained control of a bank at 15????) he tries to reconstruct the 511 kinderheim massacre. he tells orphans to go take lowtiergod’s advice partially to reinforce his own ideas, partially because he sees them as empty vessels, like himself.

in fact that’s sort of how he ‘manipulates’ people. when we see him do that, he does very little. mostly he just reflects back whatever they want to see--and he can do this because he is “nameless,” a “person who doesn’t exist,” “without a self.” all of his followers simply project what they want to see on him.

like, that quality is why he’s a “monster,” right? the two people who most try to emulate him (who are from kinderheim as well--that’s one of johan’s only real connections that he can’t get rid of for whatever reason; he saves grimmer.) are roberto and his “apprentice.” at certain points in the story, they try manipulating people by pressing on their sore spots and reflecting back what they like least about themselves, just like johan does; the only difference is that they’re always a bit clumsy about it, since they have an “identity,” while johan, who “doesn’t have one,” does it to perfection. that’s what they admire about him. not necessarily that he’s uniquely immoral or even "has guts” or whatever.

johan’s bland emptiness is the entire point of his character--and even then, he can’t help but not be completely bland or completely empty. after all, the only reason tenma struggled with him was because he saw him as human (the ending, in fact, echoes the side story with the terrorist--where tenma gives the same justification for saving the guy’s life. these character vignettes are at the heart of monster, not the “main story,” which is honestly kind of thin.)

the OMG SO BADASS SO NIHILISTIC VILLAIN OMG WOW is really funny to see when you’re like. fresh off done with the story. i don’t know how people look at johan and think “wow what a chessmaster”

Playing Pretend, probably. That one's just a lot of cutesy friends to lovers that I wrote in a state of sheer obsession when Encanto first came out. Or maybe To Cherish and be Cherished which is just 400 ish words of fluff

I've been lucky enough that people engaging with my writing have been overall really kind. I have had like 2 slightly rude comments, but I don't think that was intentional :)

I have! It was a challenge cause my ace brain doesn't like working that way, but I wrote a voyeurism/exhibitionism Jonathan x Jason fic. I actually feel quite happy with it.

I haven't posted any, but I do have an abandoned wip in my drafts, if that counts?

Uh, is saying 'all of them' cheating? There are so many wips in my google drive that, realistically, I'm never going to go back to. But if I had to pick one... maybe the this untitled Thomally fic I was writing?

lmao fuck if I know. Coming up with ideas, maybe? Everything else is a bit of a struggle.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Sustaining my ability to focus. I also feel like I struggle with balancing speech and description.

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Idk. I've done it before in Playing Pretend to match how the characters speak in the film, but I can only speak English so... I gave it a go? I don't mind reading dialogue in other languages in fic, if I need I just have google translate open to understand what's being said.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Depends how we're looking at it. Technically WWE when I was like 7 but idk if I'd count that. The first time I wrote fanfic and was aware that was what it was would've been Andi Mack, but the first fandom I wrote for on AO3 was Little Nightmares.

20. Favorite fic you've written?

I feel like I'm most content with the writing in Thirium Pooling in His Chest (Bleeding Different, Feeling the Same) but I am probably proudest in myself for Ceramic Hearts because that fic was a real labour of love.

sick- 511

I haven't been sick in over 4 years. I thought I was coming down with allergies because I just don't get sick. I felt off on Monday - I woke up with a headache- I called out of work but felt better by the afternoon and decided to go for a run. I struggled to run but thought it was because of the pollen and new allergies. I went to work on Tuesday- felt ok but again had a headache and was sneezing and allergies. Wednesday same thing- only I was exhausted and almost fell asleep in my car during my lunch time. I met my aunt to walk and I was telling her how I think I have allergies. Towards the end of our walk my whole body hurt.. bad. I thought wow that's odd-it was a walk.. my body should not hurt. By the time I got home I had a raging fever. I called out of work Thursday and spent the whole day in bed. I had an appointment to get waxed and managed to shower for that. My waxer is my hype girl. I get undressed so she can wax me and she starts flipping out saying omg April you've lost so much weight since I last saw you- 5 weeks- what are you doing different? i'm like nothing. she's says she can tell i'm doing something different.. i'm like no,nothing different-she wont let it go... I am doing something different- I started going to the gym 2x a week to lift on my own. funny she could tell... I don't see a difference. I still feel sick. it's an awful feeling.I am going to have to venture out to get myself medicine. My throat hurts . I made myself protein pancakes -i was up at 5 am. I couldn't sleep. Michael and Meghan were in my dream a few nights ago. Michael telling me and Meg how we could repair our relationship. i'm gonna go back to bed for a little bit. i'm exhausted. the good news is, I don't have allergies.

Scattered Pages: Day 511,

Mists are out this morning.  It’s got me thinking again about the idea of intentionally staying up through the night so that I can use the Catacombs flashbacks to try to translate the cathedral chanting.  With the way those dreams have changed since going under the black lake, I want to think that I’ll be able to handle it better now.  

The harder part will likely be convincing the others that it’s not a terrible idea.  I know how against it Lin was before.

It looks like we’re in for another lunar eclipse tonight.  The mists have stayed low to the ground all day.  

Lin and Maiko have shown up to check on me.  I’m told Cass had wanted to come too, but Lin and Vernon talked her out of it.  They didn’t explicitly say why, but I gather that it’s because they don’t want her to see me like I was during the last eclipse (if that even happens again).  Funny, I don’t remember telling anyone else about that night, but maybe I did and forgot about it.  Not that it would matter if I didn’t, seeing as how Maiko definitely did when I disappeared.  Not that I blame her.  I would have done the same in her position.  Probably would have wanted her to while in my own position even, had I been lucid at the time.  

The point is, they’re here with me now out of concern for my wellbeing.  Worried that when the moon goes red I’m going to go running off into the woods to join the sprites and never come back.  Not that they said that in so many words, but the implication was clear enough.  Or maybe I’m projecting again.  It’s a possibility that’s been on my mind ever since I realized the mists were staying low this morning.  

Is it wrong that I almost hope something like that will happen?  Not that extreme of course, but just a taste of it.  Now that I put it to paper, that outlook is a little concerning.  Mostly I think it’s because I haven’t had an encounter with the nature sprite since it brought me back from the pool.  I never thought I’d say this, but I miss it.  Just when I felt like I’d finally really accepted it as a permanent part of my life was the last time I saw it.  

I should talk to someone about those feelings.  Try to work through them instead of letting them fester.  Probably Pat.  I’m not sure the others would be able to really understand without worry for me clouding their comprehension.  Okay, wow, that sounds self-centered and pretentious.  And ungrateful.  

I really am happy that Lin and Maiko are here right now.  Here, on the porch late at night waiting for a moon that doesn’t seem to want to turn red after all.  At this rate it’ll be nearly morning by the time the eclipse starts.  And that’s assuming we haven’t all somehow misinterpreted the weather and this isn’t just regular ordinary condensation spread across the yard.  We’ve been waiting out here long enough for conversational small talk to run its course.  Hence this writing.

All those musing aside, it’s actually been a pleasant day today.  The usual rainy season market day activities of rest and laundry, but now with company.  I’ve been missing that, what with Maiko spending the days off from helping me teach with Lin.  That and the fresh fish.  But mostly the company.  It’s been cute seeing how they’ve rubbed off on one another.  And probably rubbed off on me too, if I’m being honest.

I’m rambling now.  Probably best that we all just call it a night while there’s still any kind of sleep to be had.
