Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.

unpopular opinion. . .but I do NOT want Anthony to walk Penelope down the aisle. Not only because they don't really have much of a relationship, the two of them really haven't interacted at all, but also because Anthony has really been. . .pretty damn hard on Colin. Like of all the siblings, Anthony has been the most stern and displeased with Colin. There's just something about the idea of him walking Pen down the aisle to Colin that doesn't sit right with me when Anthony was also the one of the linchpins who encouraged and pushed Colin to put on his mask. S1 he made fun of him for being a virgin, S2 he yelled at him in full view of the entire family for investing money in Pen's family to the point where Benedict and Eloise called him out for it, and S3, the only praise he gave him was for the attention he got from others after putting on a persona

No, I want someone else to walk Penelope down the aisle. A man who is also a wife guy, completely besotted, and would completely get Colin's feelings toward Pen. A man who already has a good relationship with Penelope, to the point where he was absolutely delighted to see her looking beautiful in a new dress. A man who has taken up the mantle as the OG Featherington Husband and would be nothing but excited for the honor of walking his Sister in Law down the aisle

i genuinely don't care how good a piece of ai generated art or writing looks on the surface. i don't care if it emulates brush strokes and metaphor in a way indistinguishable from those created by a person.

so on the subject of the "Crowley is secretly Revaan/Laverne/Levin/please Twst give us his name" theory, I think my feelings are best summed up as "I don't really buy it, but it's funny". like, in all seriousness, I'm not opposed to it; I have enjoyed the writing in Twst so far and I'm willing to trust that whatever happens will, you know, make sense and not be terrible. but I'm just not really convinced by the current evidence! maybe that'll change once we learn more, we'll see!

with that said, may I propose a few alternate theories about the possible Crowley/Revaan connection:

This is always one of my favorite shots every run and I wanted to expound on why that is because it runs into a lot of critique I see. Not trying to be snarky for a change this is way Veilguard positive and sincere. Rook is my favorite protagonist out of every BioWare game.

People get really bogged down in why the gods just let Rook and the gang go at multiple points in the story. It confused me too in D’meta’s crossing. I was really itching for a Big Hero Moment at Weisshaupt like the Inqusitor gets at Haven. Instead I got one of my favorite missions in a Dragon Age game.

And when I got there I saw this. This is why the Evanuris don’t care about Rook unless they have the dagger. Because why would they? They destroyed the Grey Wardens, an army, like it was nothing. It didn’t take them long at all. They rolled over a fortress that stood for over a thousand years. They don’t see Rook and the Veilguard as a threat because at this point in time, they’re not. Even if the Inquisitor had shown up with all of their power and connections this still would have been the result.

It’s why Rook is the protagonist. Rook represents the people of Thedas as they are now, and at the beginning of the game Rook is a nobody. Solas only acknowledges their existence because he’s forced to when they drop a statue on his head, and even then he only sees them as a pawn against the other Evanuris. Varric knows this about Solas. Varric knows who they’re fighting. It’s why Varric picked Rook.

People are missing the very heart of Veilguard’s story by ignoring who and what Rook is and it’s crazy because they’re such a great protagonist. Rook looks at a fucking storm and keeps fighting anyways. That’s the kind of person I want to be. The kind that sees the end of the world crashing down on them and keeps going because it’s the right thing to do.

As if I wasn't already exhausted enough this morning...

It's been brought to my attention that people are taking my fanfics, editing them, and sharing them around. I don't have the words to describe how not okay this is. If you don't like something about my fanfic, then I'm sorry to hear that, but there are a lot of other fics out there you can read instead.

I put time and effort and care into my writing, as does every writer. To take my work without permission and change it feels like someone just punched me in the gut. Frankly it makes me not want to share my work at all and to take down all the writing I do have up, because why should I share anything with people if all they're going to do is decide it's not good enough and they're going to do what they want with it and make it "better"?

And before anyone comes at me, this is not what a transformative work does. This is not the same as fanfiction. I'm fucking exhausted from working two eleven hour shifts over the weekend so my brain is not working so someone smarter and more articulate than I am can explain why. I'm tired.

This genuinely makes me want to take down all my works and not share anything new. It's very simple, kiddos: Don't like it? Don't read it. You will miss out on some fanfics that way, just like you'll miss out on some films, or books, or TV shows. I've missed out on really good fic, novels, films, etc, for the same reason. We all do. It's a part of life. Stuff will sometimes have things in it that you don't like. Skim those parts, fast-forward those scenes, grin and bear it, or just go and read/watch something else.

Normally I would make this post unrebloggable but I worry other writers in this fandom might experience the same thing and not realize it. So people are welcome to reblog this. Anyone who's an ass on it will be blocked, no second chances.

Sometime going into a trending tag is very funny. "If the two male leads of this tv show from the 2000s/early 2010s don't canonically end up together, I don't know what I will do with myself !"

I don't know how to explain to you that before, like, 2017, This Did Not Happen. There were straight couple, and next to them were Ambigusly Close Men (Often With Female Love Interests), and you considered yourself lucky if in the finale they weren't in straight relationships. There were hints. There were gay actors, there were jokey "ahah let's not talk about New Year Party!", there were people being homophobic to them. But it was known that they Would Not End Up Together.
