In the way that we all know this moment’s huge for Buck, but Tommy takes the lead, doesn’t let him spiral, or overthink, or be nervous about what it means. guys i know we’re all going thru it rn but can we just acknowledge how beautifully painful the breakup scene was between buck and tommy like the acting choice and the writing, all of tommy’s lines like how he knows how this will end because he thinks he’s just buck’s first not his last and how he wouldn’t survive it because it would break his heart, how buck was just in shock the entire time because he couldn’t believe that the most transformative relationship of his entire life was ending and he couldn’t control it he couldn’t fix it, my heart is broken but omg this was the SCENE OF SEASON 8 ladies and gentlemen the chemistry and the exchange between lfj and oliver was so masterfully done that i for a second thought it was all real like it was so good and so realistic and i really felt for both of them there with tommy’s insecurity ruining the best relationship he’s ever had to buck’s excitement about going all in for the first time with someone he really loves, all in all i just want to give a round of applause to tim, lfj, oliver, and everyone involved in making that scene what it was because i am hurt now yes but i am so excited for the resolution to this i know this isn’t the end for bucktommy, this is just the hurdle, the will they won’t they, and we all know buck is not going to let this stand (he never has in his life) he’s going talk to tommy and make him realize he wants this forever too

So do we think maybe Buck golfing with Gerrard is something along the lines of Tommy giving advice to Buck to get to know him and play nice to make his life easier (or some such - because Tommy never actually had any hated directed at him from Gerrard so never actually experienced first hand what he was like in the same way Chim and Hen did).

Which Buck will do and find out a few things about his situationships (it’s technically unlabelled as a relationship so I’m not calling them boyfriends!) past behaviours and dots will start connecting all those red flags that Tommy is waving?!!

Eddie talks to Bobby (are they ready, can he be a good husband?) -> Buck talks to Maddie and Josh (does Buck see a future with him?)

Eddie and Shannon have a date and he essentially re-proposes. Shannon asks for a divorce -> Buck and Tommy have a date and Buck asks him to move in. Tommy breaks-up with him.

Nothing prepared me for the way Buck smiled so goofy and got so shy and blushy and could barely talk after Tommy kissed him. I will ship Buddie until it is pried from my cold dead hands, and my optimism for canon Buddie honestly just fucking SOARED. But while we're still on that journey, why not enjoy Buck's adorable and very real and obvious crush on this handsome cool dude?? I'm tired of angst and pain being constant parts of LGBTQ characters romances, and I'm tired of the "I thought I was straight but am only bi for you" trope. Buck is bi apart from anything to do with Eddie. That is awesome and valid.

there's something so good about this episode and choosing joy, even if it doesn't help. it's really this whole quote “the love was there. it didnt change anything. it didnt save anyone. there were just too many forces against it. but it still matters that the love was there”, except with joy and acceptance.

we see maddie and chim have such a frank, healthy discussion about their family, and choosing to feel joyous despite their fears.

buck has to confront how queer journeys differ, which leads to him realizing his own joy and comfort in himself now. ultimately, it prompts tommy to break up with him, because tommy knows that buck is only just figuring himself out, and buck (bless him) still makes the mistake of big, romantic gestures. tommy's protecting himself and his own joy, because it's one thing to date; it's another to move in together. it was inevitable, even if it hurts.

then there's eddie, who embraces some frivolity, and dances around in his boxers risky business style the way you can imagine he wanted to do as a kid. he laughed and danced and sung just because he could. just because he wanted to. but, after, he sits on the couch, sharing a beer with buck, and you know he's thinking about chris and his parents and how he hates how things are right now. yes, he has joy, he let himself be silly, but it didn't instantly fix things, either.

Thinking about the fact that the Cobras really were in the palm of Johnny’s hand.

Always surrounding him—smiling at everything he did; even if Bobby thought he went too far, he’d still end up smiling.

The way they wouldn’t have bothered Daniel or even really noticed him if Johnny hadn’t been so upset at him. Had Tommy not thought it would have been funny to point out the dude Ali was with because just maybe he thought Johnny looked...neat when he was angry.

With the constant touching and unconditional enjoyment for everything he does, I like to think those boys had some repressed not so platonic feelings about him.

Their characters had so little information about them, but what we do know is that they adored Johnny, one way or the other.
