It's the power imbalance. Which is at its core the problem with all of Bucks past relationships, Abby and Taylor being the biggest red flags. And somehow Tommy combines them both. Just like Abby he seems to see Buck as a boy toy. He gives little effort to the relationship. Like Taylor he condensends him.

That's why the daddy joke bothered me. You have your situationship wait in you then make a joke. Of course Buck was gonna laugh. We have all been in that situation when an older man who is more dominant acts not cool. And we smile and laugh to not create a problem.

Eddie and Buck are equals. There is no power imbalance to make the other one uncomfortable.
