i just really dont think people who have never been on the end of an internet hate campaign are really capable of understanding how damaging it is to be under that kind of scrutiny and to have to calculate everything you do under the assumption that people are waiting for an excuse to harass you over it. it's not just internet drama that people have the privilege of stepping away from, i shouldn't have to tell anyone with a tumblr account that a lot of marginalized people rely heavily on the internet for community and support they can not get elsewhere. the only people who we should be trying to fully bar from participating in society like this is people who don't use their turn signals.
