Moon in the 12h in combination with esoteric astrology
Hi friends! I really hope you enjoy this deep dive into understanding the 12th house a bit more and the moon placement. I compare both traditional & esoteric astrology—which is the reading of the soul. Do enjoy, leave feedback & comments to help this blog! Also because I’m curious to hear your thoughts always. I am only doing research and sharing it!
The moon in esoteric astrology is regarded as the past, our visceral self, aka “the soul.” Known in traditional astrology the moon holds powerful ties to our past, ancestors and trauma. The moon is so much more than our everyday emotions. So how does this play into natives with the 12th house?
That is why it is important to understand the moon in an esoteric sense, alongside traditional astrology. The moon is regarded as “vulcan,” another term. The moon describes the kind of life we had in a previous life, imprinting on our current one. With this being the case, it represents our ego as well in a lot of ways.
Our ties to our past (both in our previous life, and past also meaning current trauma in this lifetime) can control us. If you choose to believe your past life is imprinting on your current, you can understand how the need to heal from the sabotage we did to ourselves is part of the “ego.” Ego in this sense has barely much to do with pride—its our visceral trauma responses.
And you can also understand how our current trauma in this lifetime can result in the need to protect ourselves and hide behind narratives and perspectives that do not help us (the ego).
Having moon in the 12th house can point to a previous lifetime, or your past trauma(if you don’t believe in past lives) where you experienced isolation and loneliness in the face of trauma. It’s the loneliness that contributes to trauma in the first place—whereas if you had a community it would’ve been managed completely different.
Moon in the 12th house can point to addiction to self sabotage, self harm, toxicity in relationships. Tolerating more than needed, ex: abuse. The native can feel alive in these hurtful conditions because it’s the one thing that makes them feel. But this can spiral unhealthily really fast.
When the native first approaches healing or peace—they can deem it as “boring,” because their nervous system has never been in this state before.
To get a closer look, in esoteric astrology, the NN can describe what kind of consciousness is playing out over your lifetimes or if you prefer it: this lifetime. What you are meant to learn, know, and evolve into with the wisdom you gather about yourself.
The SN in esoteric astrology describes our “past lifetime” “previous life” that is imprinting on our current. Or if you prefer it: your trauma currently needing healing.
For example a NN in Taurus, SN in Scorpio native: their trauma/past lifetime could have included multiple losses, and grief. Losing a parent due to abandonment, experiencing separation of the parents or being neglected. Or all of it. It’s very likely the native experienced eating issues as a way to have control over their life, i.e. hurting themselves brings a sense of “control,” even though it is considered unhealthy.
SN in Scorpio could have also made the native experience exclusion in their community. Their peers could have disliked them from a young age, and the native struggled to find their community. Once again—replaying that loneliness they experienced.
NN in Taurus teaches the native that part of their peace comes from going within and validating their emotions from what they experienced. To experience control by releasing control over external factors. To not just survive off of physical means, but to create an emotionally stable environment to thrive.
The moon is also considered a death stage esoterically, meaning this isn’t about fertility, nor is it about ripening seeds, or manifesting. This is about ending cycles of addiction, pain and suffering.
The only thing coming next after the moon, systemically is the earth where the healing begins, metaphorically speaking. Where the native feels stability internally to begin planting seeds and maintaining them.
If I were to tie this into 12h moon placements—it’s that you need to plant your seeds. You need to materialize your hopes and dreams and not victimize yourself through past patterns. You need to do more than survive, and allow yourself to thrive. To become so safe enough that you root yourself in new communities and feel worthy enough to explore earth. And that means starting with yourself.
I suppose that’s why a lot of 12th house moons have a “scorpionic” vibe. It’s because they carry the moons death energy, aka the “vulcan.” The moon esoterically is death after all, and so many natives have experienced constant endings and beginnings with this placement. They have seen so many dimensions to life—too much for it to be simple.
The 12th house itself
In esoteric astrology, the 12th house is regarded as the “bondage” to the “ego.” If you really our earlier explanation, the ego is our trauma and formed response to keep us safe.
This house rules over ignorance of our trauma, the inability to receive help, only feeding into the loop of self sabotage.
In traditional astrology views the 12th house as “hidden,” or “secretive.” Esoteric astrology acknowledges it differently—they see it as a vessel into the underworld. A gateway. A vast network of telepathy within the natives community.
They acknowledge this as not necessarily hidden, but the native taking a deep dive into mass consciousness that exists in front our eyes.
Therefore, it’s not really a secret if you pay attention.
Then, the native is able to access that “hidden knowledge,” and turn it into public knowledge. Although many of the times this is considered taboo knowledge since the native can know things other people consider, “heavy,” “dark,” or “disturbing.” Even though, the native knows having critical complex thoughts is necessary.
It is necessary to think critically, according to the native given their complex life experiences. The native actually has a lot of “hidden” resources at their disposal in this lifetime and can use it to their will. Manifestation, universal laws, spiritual insight, etc whatever you call it.
Some may fixate on the 12th house as the ego driven house—again, fear, trauma and loss. Whilst this is absolutely true of the natives, esoteric astrology adds another meaning. It also means resurrection of the soul of the native. The purest form and light. Alchemy of the ego.
Hope ya’ll enjoyed! I really appreciate ya’ll being here and taking the time to read. Your feedback is appreciated.

Another speculation post on Vulcan biology and social interactions
You know that emotions are actually vital for animals(with nervous system)? It's a way your body let's you know that there's something wrong or good going on with you. Although the popular belief is that emotions are *illogical* I view them as a very logical thing, it's that sometimes it can be too complicated to see the reason right away. Even when you have for example ptsd and you *overreact* to a certain trigger it's not illogical - your body have been in a lot of stress and/or danger and it knows that you're weary of this so it makes sure you're dealing with the situation as soon as possible (even though your reaction to trigger might be tears or panic attack your body actually tries to save you it's just it's the only way it knows how to save you - that's why you might need therapy - to learn new ways of carring about yourself)
Another great function of emotions is to show other people what is going on with you. Like animals show their teeth to warn other animals - they don't have language and they can't explain that they're going to attack. And for people it's also true and it takes less energy to smile rather then to explain that you're actually happy etc.
And then there's vulcans. And a great difference between humans and vulcans - they have telepathy. And just imagine - you don't need language and you also don't need to flex your muscles in order to translate your inner state. And as far as biology goes the actions that take less energy get more advanced.
I think vulcans have emotions, as much as humans do, but they're experiencing them differently. For reference humans can't actually feel wetness we just don't have receptors for this. Frogs do have such receptors, we don't. But we still know when we're wet because of the temperature and pressure.
So vulcans have emotions but they don't show them much because they don't have a need to show them with a body language they can do it with telepathy. On top of that, thanks to their culture and meditation, they're hyper aware of what's going on in their bodies and they're in much lesser need for emotions as a way of letting you there's something wrong. So they do have emotions, I am certain of that, but they're experiencing them so differently from how the other species experience them that vulcans won't even call them "emotions"

27. things you said through a closed door - liam/franco
find the prompt list here!
“Tell me about Mars.”
The words crackle through the speaker by Franco’s ear, pulling his attention. He turns his head, frowning. Treasure Planet lies open on the data pad in his lap, where he’s been reading out loud for the past hour. The unexpected request gives him pause.
Life on the Mars colony had always been shrouded in secrecy for centuries, ever since its colonization in the late 22nd century. He can almost hear his mother’s scolding voice warning him against even thinking about discussing it in the open corridors of the ship.
“Perhaps…” The voice belongs to George, his hand pressed against the data terminal. “You could humour Ensign Lawson. The oxygen levels are depleting faster than expected. Keeping him calm would be… optimal.”
George doesn’t phrase it like a direct order, but Franco hears the unspoken urgency beneath the words.
As if to give them privacy, the commander closes his eyes and focuses entirely on the terminal. His body remains still, except for the cables linking the data center to the ports at the back of his neck. George’s sole attention is on unraveling the virus that’s infiltrated the Apex’s systems, trapping Liam on the other side of the airlock door, where the air is slowly draining away, counting down to jettison.
“What…” Franco licks his lips, suddenly nervous. “What do you want to know?”
“I don’t know. I’ve never been to Mars. All the old Terran books say it’s big… and red.”
Franco laughs despite himself. He wishes he could see Liam then—to see the pull of concentration between his brows and the way his ignorance would make his pale green cheeks darken.
“They’re not wrong. But it’s so much more,” Franco begins, switching off his datapad. He shifts, glancing up at the video feed in the corner. Lining up the press of his cheek to the metal, he mirrors Liam on the other side.
“My people colonized Mars centuries ago, after the Terrans struggled to grow plant life in the harsh soil. We helped them—brought advanced technologies from other planets and terraformed what we could…” He chuckles softly. “It’s still big and red, but the trees we’ve grown are purple and flourishing. They make the air breathable. But it’s thin—you’d probably hate it, chiquito.”
Especially after this. The oxygen levels in the chamber are down to 67%, just a little lower than Mars’s surface. Liam has always hated the lightness of thin air—whether on other planets or in the void of space itself.
“Your people,” Liam’s voice is breathy, and Franco’s chest tightens. He can't panic, can't let Liam hear the anxiety threatening to claw its way out. “They change themselves, right? I always thought that was… kind of cool. Being whoever you want to be—like it’s normal. On Botschok, they wanted us to be who they designated our worth as. I wasn’t there for long, but… Illyrians sound… better.”
There’s a wistful tone to his words. They’ve only served together on the Apex for a few weeks, and Liam has always been guarded about himself. Hearing this yearning for acceptance stirs something in Franco. He wants to let Liam know he understands more than he lets on.
Instead, Franco presses his head harder into the door, letting his breath bounce against the cold surface.
“We augment,” he says softly. “Adapt to where we live. It’s not…” He hesitates, struggling to find the words. “It’s like… standardization. Everyone made the same. No differences. When I was a kid, they wanted to shave my ears down.”
A long pause follows, static buzzing faintly in the background.
“Your ears?” Liam sounds offended on his behalf, making Franco laugh.
“They’re too Vulcan for Mars. I stood out. The governors didn’t like it, but my mother…” His voice softens. “She stopped them. The points got to stay.”
“Good.” The reply is immediate, firm. It makes Franco’s chest feel warm. “I like your ears—” The comms crackle, and Franco thinks he hears the faint echo of ‘cute’ before the connection cuts off entirely.
His heart ricochets into his throat. Scrambling to his feet, Franco rushes to George, who’s begun typing at the datapad with a speed not possible for his humanoid fingers.
“What’s happening?” Franco demands.
George’s expression darkens.
“The virus has infiltrated more of our systems,” he says. His tone is calm, almost irritatingly so. Franco feels a sudden, inappropriate urge to yank the cable from George’s neck and throttle him with it.
“I am sorry, Ensign,” George continues, oblivious to Franco’s rising frustration. “It appears Lawson is on his own now.”

Before Gear 5th was revealed, theorists tried to predict its abilities based on the themes of the previous Gears
Gear 2nd used the cardiovascular system
Gear 3rd used the skeletal system
Gear 4th used the muscular system
So naturally fans assumed that Gear 5th would use another aspect of the body
Some thought it would be the nervous system and increase Luffy's intelligence or reflexes, possibly giving him a big head
Some thought it would be the integumentary system, affecting either his skin by vulcanizing his rubber body or his hair by letting him produce static electricity by sprouting hairs along his limbs (I came up with that one and am still fond of it)
They were more niche, but I even occasionally saw some ideas for the respiratory system, digestive system, or, most surprisingly, the endocrine system (and least surprisingly the urinary system...)
Obviously, none of these came to pass, and the most popular theory, that Gear 5th would just be Luffy's Awakening, was ultimately correct, but that doesn't mean it abandoned the overall theme of the Gears
While Luffy isn't using his new abilities to stretch his nerves, hair, lungs, stomach or bladder, he did find one new thing to stretch: his imagination!
In the end, one might argue that Gear 5th is related to the nervous system, at least tangentially, since now Luffy's powers are only limited by his mind, not his body

list of things i’ve made up about vulcan while writing a lesbian philosophical-dialogue t’pring/uhura fic, some of which has made it into the fic and some of which has not:
they have 83 subjunctive or subjunctive-adjacent moods in their language. this is down to speakers being highly aware of their own limits one hundo percent of the time. it’s considered rude or bold to use the indicative for most utterances. they added most of these subjunctive varieties a few hundred years after their little logical reformation, as the doctrine of vulcan logic really became defined. this language revolution of sorts got rid of all of their modal words.
they have a special language they use to speak to each other in their minds, which is wholly tonal in sound and not entirely translatable to material language
they have underground oceans and grasslands
they make their lyres from the tightest of woven grass found in said underground grasslands
there were several ages of post-surakian thought and cultural movement as vulcans adjusted to principles of logic--the first of these ages being called 'transition,' which, in uhura's opinion, produced the best poetry and, in spock’s opinion, produced the worst
their language has no significance assigned to stress/emphasis; or rather, their language is all exactly one stress, a philosophical expression of all things being equal as well as a result of nervous system that has to be extremely and consciously ordered
unlike in every human culture ever, they have no associated dance school with any martial art.
due to both of the above, vulcans suck at rhythm.
they are sexless, though they are not genderless. lifetime sex characteristics in their body died out a long time ago but the gender expressions remained. people are people.
there’s no distinction on vulcan between a “hard” or “soft” science. however musical study is considered the most elite subject (due to some metaphysical biases from their history)
they’re fully aware of a distinction between types of logics which is why when they are referring to their prophet/sage’s logic, they use a special case which denotes a higher plane of abstraction
the fact of their “feeling deeper than other species” comes from their heightened control over their nervous system—which was a fact of their biology before their logical reformation
touch telepathy is due to nerve endings being so concentrated near the skin and the fact that the vulcan nervous system doesn’t operate using neurotransmitters, but energy fields generated from completing a circuitry, so to speak.
mental bonds are quantum entanglement.
#i made up A LOT of stuff as i was writing. mostly to counteract some of the stuff that never made sense to me about these made up aliens#in the shows/movies and in fic#star trek#vulcans

it would be so funny if the “vulcans have no emotions” is an in-universe oversimplification, something along the lines of “the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell,” because i imagine that a species with an alien nervous system and cultural conventions would absolutely have weird overlap with human definitions and borders between what is “emotion” and what is “logic”

"The Vulcan Academy Murders" review

Novel by Jean Lorrah, from 1984. Set entirely on Vulcan, after "Journey to Babel" but a bit before M'Benga joins the Enterprise. It seems that Spock can never have a quiet family reunion with his parents, since this time, a suspicious series of computer malfunctions start killing patients in the Academy hospital...
As an insight into Vulcan culture, and specially Spock's family, the story is fine. There are lots of anecdotes from his childhood, as well as Sarek and Amanda's marriage. Spock has also resolved his differences with Sarek, after the events of Babel, and they're starting to understand and appreciate each other much better now. Apart from this, we get to see how Vulcans treat foreigners, and how even in this society there are dissenting parties, that aren't so fond of Surak's teachings.
As a murder mystery, though, the narrative is rather clumsy. The real culprit is pretty obvious, at least from halfway into the novel. Even moreso, by the way the characters brush aside their suspicions about this person for no discernible reason, to focus instead on the (also obvious) red herring. Kirk in particular seems pretty irresponsible in the way he conducts the investigation. But in general, the only reason the murderer escapes capture for so long, it's because all characters seem determined to play the idiot ball around this person.
The structure is a bit uneven as well. A couple of original characters get a lot of exposure in the early parts, even with entire chapters written from their point of view, but eventually return to the background without truly becoming protagonists. It's also a bit weird to see such quiet scenes, like Sarek telling stories about his wife, or Kirk planning to go out on a date, while Amanda's life is still so seriously threatened.
So, not all that great (though fans of Sarek and Amanda will probably love it), but not bad either.
I'll try to explain the plot a bit without spoiling everything. But just in case, spoilers under the cut:
During a battle against Klingons, a crewman sustains grave nervous damage, and he's left in a vegetative state. Spock, however, has heard about a revolutionary treatment, recently developed in Vulcan, that can completely regenerate a nervous system. He knows about the treatment because his own mother is undergoing it, due to a degenerative disease (not that he'd have talked about such trifles with Kirk or McCoy, of course). So they head to Vulcan, and leave the crewman in the hands of Vulcan healer Sorel, and his human partner Daniel, the developers of the new treatment. It consists in placing the patient in a stasis chamber, where he remains unconscious for several days until his system is regenerated. Amanda will be ready to leave her chamber in a couple of days, but the disconnection procedure is very delicate, and doing it too soon would be fatal for the person.
All seems well, so Kirk, Spock and McCoy get a little shore leave at Sarek's house. The story also introduces some other characters, like Eleyna, a human who helps Sarek at the Academy, or Sendet, an elitist Vulcan working under Sorel. However, the problems begin when Sorel's wife suffers also an accident that damages her nerves, and she's put in yet another stasis chamber (so there's a total of three patients now). Shortly thereafter, an apparent power failure disconnects the stasis field around the Vulcan woman, and then she's dead, Jim. Feeling the bond with his wife breaking, Sorel almost dies as well (yes, this is something that happens to Vulcans in this novel; and it's a bit impractical). But Daniel manages to mind-meld with his partner, as he's considered part of the family, and together with Sorel's children, they heal him and bring him out of his shock.
The investigations about the power malfunction don't show any problem with the equipment itself, nor with the computer, and yet the alarms didn't activate until it was too late. When a little later, the chamber that holds Kirk's crewman also fails, and the ensign dies, it starts looking as a murder case and not a simple accident. Vulcan hasn't had any murders for millennia (if you're not counting things like Spock's wedding, that is), so Vulcans are very reluctant to accept it's a crime. But Kirk, Sarek and Spock decide to start their own investigation, as Vulcan lacks a proper police. If there's a murderer, Amanda could be the next target. Kirk starts interrogating several suspects (including T'Pau!), while Sarek and Spock try to retrieve info about the malfunctions from the Academy computer network. Meanwhile, McCoy is doing his medical things, or drinking mint juleps, I'm not sure... Also, Kirk thinks this is an appropiate time to ask Eleyna on a date (sigh...).
At last, Sarek and Spock seem to be on the track of something with the computers. But just then, there's a massive power failure in the whole hospital, the computer's memory is wiped, and all lights go out. To complicate things further, a fire breaks in the hospital immediately after. And Kirk and Sarek are injured while trying to protect Amanda's chamber from the fire. Meanwhile, Daniel had confessed his love for T'Mir (Sorel's daughter), and they had established a bond. Sendet, who's really dismissive of outworlders and wanted T'Mir for himself, attacks Daniel in public. This turns Sendet into suspect number one, apparently causing the stasis malfunctions to discredit Daniel's work. But is he?...
In the last part Kirk, instead of going out on a date with Eleyna, ends up lost in the Vulcan desert at night. And he's almost eaten by a carnivorous plant and a le-matya (the thing in the cover which Spock, in fact, NEVER fights in the book). McCoy proves he's a better detective than all the others conducting the case, when he guesses what happened with Kirk and goes to his rescue. Kirk is unconscious at first, but upon waking up, he reveals the identity of the killer.
McSpirk Meter: 5/10*. It's difficult to separate the relationships in this case. Kirk and McCoy are both invited to Sarek's house, and it's obvious he sees them as part of Spock's family. Also, Sarek isn't very concerned about his son not marrying a woman again (this, in a society that is absolutely obsessed with getting people married). For their part, both Kirk and McCoy seem very interested in learning things about Spock's past, and his family relationships. McCoy "feels warmth" when Spock trusts him as a doctor to treat Amanda. And Kirk is said to only tolerate the presence of Spock while in intense pain; as McCoy explains, "Spock is very good with people in pain". On the other hand, it's significant how the novel avoids any mention of Spock having a mental link with Kirk or McCoy (which is almost a staple in many novels and comics). Precisely in a story that stresses so much the mind link, as a bond between a married man and woman...
On a more comedic note, there's also a bit of McKirk. They tell an anecdote about Kirk and McCoy beaming down stark naked to a nudist planet, and how they tried to cover their junk in embarrassment. And then something about them getting drunk in shore leave, and McCoy putting Kirk to bed... Sarek even wonders if this "putting the Captain to bed" is something McCoy does on a regular basis.
Last but not least, the relationship between Sorel and Daniel is... well... Daniel gets to experience a really intense warmth and belonging while melding with Sorel, during which he also shares his feelings for his wife. Then he's pained to break the link. It's obvious they're really, really close, and Daniel wants to be a part of Sorel's family above anything else. The Vulcan-human relationship somehow mirrors that of Spock with Kirk and McCoy, where he's found his other family as well. The narrative tries to avert this direction by insisting Sorel and Daniel are "like brothers". And then tries to avert it more by having Daniel bond with T'Mir (Sorel's MUCH younger daughter). Which yeah, it's not gay but... in hindsight, it looks a bit incestuous instead.

In your pic of mirror!Guz she has a cybernetic arm. Any thoughts on how that works with mellanoids, or did it just look cool?
Mirror!Guz is unable to manifest a gelatin skeleton due to irreversible damage to her nervous system resulting from the disciplinary action she was subject to upon joining the KCA. Most of her implants are just a fairly simple skeleton for her goo to hold onto, the rest she designed herself for force multiplication. And then there is the vulcan implant to modulate her emotions. That one was installed by the KCA.
In the prime timeline, mellanoids with similar nervous system injuries that also inhibit the muscle functionality of vitrious slime may have access to state-of-the-art artificial limbs, including robotic tentacle arms, legs, fish tails, and regular arms with hands.
Cybernetic implants are easier to install on mellanoids than in humanoids, since anywhere you need a nerve-to-electronic connection you can just stimulate nerve cell growth. In the prime timeline, there is some experimentation with cybernetic computer interfaces, but mellanoid computer technology is not as well miniaturized as the computers of our 21st century, and no one in their right mind would try to make a cyborg mellanoid using federation computer technology--it just wouldn't be right!
Something similar to this is probably partly how the shapeshifting uniforms of the late 25th century (as worn by Miriime Slunge) work.

vulcan control meta
Ok, so some theories on vulcans based on last episode (i mean i always had these theories, just nice to see them more explicitly shown). It isn't an issue just of emotional/mental control. Humans can develop emotional and mental control. And i think characters like Amanda and Michael prove humans can do that too. The thing is, Vulcans have much better physiological control over their bodies. I expect much less of their nervous system is autonomic or functions sympathetically. For example: if vulcan spock wants to appear skeptical, he can raise one eyebrow and one eyebrow only. They don't even realize they do it this way. It's just how their muscles work. If human spock wants to display an emotion, his whole face twitches uncontrollably. A lot of that humans can learn to do, they can train themselves to move muscles separately. But I'm guessing that level physiological response comes automatic for vulcans. Likewise, their tone of their voice is likely normally monotone, unless they force it not to be. But muscles, although they might move in groups without thinking, they are still largely voluntary nervous system actions. If a vulcan doesn't want to feel pain, they can just ignore it. Its like they have the pain sensor, they understand it is painful, but if they know it isn't hurting them, they can ignore it. They don't have the same reflex reaction to pain. If they find something arousing, they don't react to it without voluntary control. It is something they turn on voluntarily if it is the right situation. It seems like they can control how their kidneys function, for example as well. If they need food, they don't necessarily experience that as a constellation of disparate symptoms that affect their whole body, either. They know when they are low on fuel and they eat. They can enjoy food just as much (like T'pring's dad clearly does), but they don't have to -- it is another physical stimuli they can detach from. So what is my point here. That vulcans aren't less emotional, or more emotional, or more logical *genetically.* But they control their reactions to stimuli (whether mental or external) voluntarily, in a way human physiology cannot -- I cannot will my vasopressin levels to be different. And their philosophy is a stoic philosophy that views their bodily reactions with detachment. A human can follow a stoic philosophy and practice and learn that detachment. But their physiological reactions are different, and some of these things come as second nature to vulcans. Human spock is a bit like he was drunk (well he also was drunk in one scene). For the first time, he isn't voluntarily in control of all his bodily processes, and used it as an excuse to indulge in that feeling. He doesn't need to learn how humans react to humor and do all those movements to pretend to fit in. they just happen. But he can rally and keep it together if need be, and he could longterm learn that control. But it isn't a better or worse way of living and they aren't better people for it (sometimes it makes them worse). It is just something that societally comes easy to Vulcans b/c of their physiology. That said, ultimately, Vulcans are telepaths. They engage in emotional closeness via telepathic communication, not physical displays, so they can create personal connections in spite of their lack of physical displays. Spock feels disconnected from his mother without his telepathy b/c that is how he has been close to her all his life. That isn't something that can be learnt, but it is a reason michael (and even spock, to a smaller degree) would adapt to live differently when not around vulcans all the time, b/c it would get lonely. Vulcan control isn't *desirable* in a non-telepathic society.

||The Roommate Experiment|| Prologue
Summary: Ever since she was a child Kealoha Wailani has always had a fascination with the world beyond. And getting into Starfleet Academy brings her one step closer to making her dream of exploring the galaxies a reality. But a slight error in the computer systems has caused her to become roommates with a male, rather then a female. A half-Vulcan half-human by the name of Spock. Having no other option available, the two of them decide to treat their living situation as an experiment. But experiments have a tendency to go awry, and this one does so in the most spectacular of ways.
Pairing: Spock x Kealoha(OC)
Rating || Genres || Warnings: T. Romance. None yet, but I’ll add them as I go along.
A/N: I just can’t help but think of a situation like this and it just seemed so funny to me that I had to write it. Also like I’ve searched high and low and I’ve barely seen any fanfics of Spock’s time at the Academy so I thought, this is my chance. So here’s hoping you guys enjoy it! Also the word Tūtū means Grandma in Hawaiian.
"It would seem that we have reached an impasse.”
Kealoha let out sigh as she flopped back onto her bed, her gaze turned towards the ceiling as she felt her new roommate sit on his own bed.
“Tell me about it.” She mumbled, feeling slightly miffed that their situation couldn’t be remedied. “Perhaps I can find accommodations within the city.” He offered, prompted the black haired girl to turn her gaze at him and frown. “Do you have any idea how expensive it is to live in the city. And didn’t you pay the fees for boarding already.”
She sat up, sitting cross-legged atop her still bare mattress as she did. She had had no time to set up her things yet.
“Besides you don’t know where in the city you would find a good enough place to stay. What if its too far away? You couldn’t possibly commute from the Academy and your home could you?” She asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
The half-vulcan was silent for a few brief moments before speaking. “You have come up with sure arguments Ms. Wailani. On your assessment, I agree that it would be illogical for me to find a place to stay within the city.”
Another sigh fell from her lips as she rested her elbows on her thighs, cradling her chin between her palms as she looked at her new roommate.
“So what do you propose we do?” She mused. Her question was met with silence.
It seemed even Spock wouldn’t be able to come up with a solution for their current predicament.
————————–
Kealoha had arrived at Starfleet Academy with a grin on her lips and joy in her heart. All those years of studying and finally paid off, and she was about to make her dream a reality.
She would become a Science Officer on board a Starship. Exploring new planets, and unknown galaxies. Discovering new species of creatures of both faun and flora.
The young woman had had a passion for it for as long as she could remember. Her great-grandmother would humor her with tales of her time as a Science Officer onboard a Starship. Kealoha loved listening to those stories and longed to have her own adventures just as her Tūtū had in her youth.
It had taken her months to convince her father to allow her to attend the Academy. Though he had no qualms with her studying, he had a problem with her moving so far away. But he could never say no to his daughter, and after bidding her family goodbye, Kealoha had packed her bags, climbed into the shuttle that would take her to the Academy, and here she was.
Glancing down at the PADD she had received at the Welcome Desk, the young Cadet wandered through the corridor as she attempted to locate her room. Her bags and boxes had already been delivered there and all she had was a carry-on bag. Finally locating the room, she began to feel a little nervous and excited as she wandered who her roommate would be.
Taking a deep breath, she punched in the code and the door slid open, stepping across the threshold only to be greeted with a sight she had not expected.
A young man turned his attention to her. From what a cursory glance could tell, he seemed to be in the middle of unpacking his suitcase. He was tall, taller then her at least, and had broad shoulders which prompted her to wander briefly if perhaps he worked out. But what really captured her attention were his ears. They were pointed at the tips.
Vulcan then.
“Are you lost?” He asked, looking at her in an almost inquiring manner, though she guessed that’s what it was, his face didn’t give away any emotion. She shook her head. “No, this is my room.” You glanced at the gold lettering that was stamped into the wall just above the key code.
He shook his head. “There must be some error. I was under the assumption I would be sharing with a male.” She frowned as she lifted her PADD to quickly bring up the information about her accommodations. “Well yes, we’re are supposed to be living with the same gender, but I guess there was a mix-up.” She held her PADD up for him to see where her information was displayed.
A brief glance on his part was suffice enough as he nodded. “Perhaps we should question the person in charge. They will be able to clear up this confusion.”
So saying the Vulcan strode out of the room, and after a brief hesitation, Kealoha followed after him.
————————–
A quick conversation had revealed that the computers had made a mistake. Roommates were randomly assigned, normally to the same genders. It seemed that in their situation, there had been a glitch of some sort, rooming the two of them together. And since there was no other rooms available, they were promised that as soon as an opening for a room came up, they would be notified first.
Kealoha had no idea how long that would take.
“Look, the way I see it, we can either make this entire situation more awkward by being like this around one another.” She gestured to the space between them, referring to the uncomfortable tension that seemed to grow by the second. “Or we could be grown-ups about it, and accept the situation and move forward.” She really hoped he would choose the latter. Kealoha had no problem sharing a room with a male. He certainly didn’t seem like someone who would snoop through her drawers. And she was certainly aware of other people’s privacy.
The Vulcan seemed to think over what she had just said. Finally he gave a small nod. “I agree. It would be best for the both of us to move forward. And once there is an opening available for a new roommate one of us could move out.” She grinned in delight.
“Of course. And we could even think of this as an experiment of some sort. We would be the test subjects and perhaps at the end of our stay together, we could share our conclusions with one another.” Everything was a little experiment to her. Honestly, she loved anything that was to do with science.
"That is an interesting approach to the situation. But it is.....agreeable." So saying the Vulcan stood from his bed. "I believe I have not yet introduced myself." He raised a hand in the Vulcan way of greeting. "My name is Spock, and I am from the planet Vulcan." Kealoha stood as well, giving her new roommate a smile. "And my name is Kealoha Wailani, from planet Earth." She added, smiling at her own joke.
Their eyes met, and their gazes held for a few moments longer then necessary. “It would seem we have a rather interesting year ahead of us, Ms. Wailani.” She only gave a small smile at the use of her last name. He was so formal, it was adorable.
“Well, as my Tūtū says, better to live an interesting life then a dull one.”

A Whovian Watches Star Trek for the First Time: Part 021 - Gooey Nerve Lifeform
Star Trek: Enterprise - Season 1 Episode 22 - Vox Sola
The Episodes opens to the enterprise crew trying to recover from a diplomatic disaster. The specifics of that aren't particularly important, because as the Alien ship undocks from Enterprise, some sort of slime creature slips onto The Enterprise.
In this episode, we got a lot of the Crew bonding in their downtime, that I really love. Trip cheers up Archer over a recording of a sports game. A lot of the crew talked about the ship's movie screenings, which seem to be a regular fixture now!
The unknown life form reminded me a lot of the Alien from that movie "Life" that everyone forgot about. The way it snared it's pray, the way it looked. I certainly would have gone with a different colour choice for the Alien because it looks like... well, you know what I mean.
Thankfully the creature is extremely sensitive to light, so it can be fought back, but it connected it's nervous system to the ensnared crew members.
i love the bonding going on between Hoshi and T'Pol, about how T'Pol belives in Hoshi in a very strange and Vulcan way.
This episode was really good, but it didn't really leave me with a lot to say. I thoroughly enjoyed this one though

This is my girlfriend's fault
So we're watching Star Trek: Enterprise (her for the first time, me second time through and picking up the eps I missed thanks to life happening during the initial release) and one thing to understand about my girlfriend; she is bi and horny. This means that all the nude scenes and borderline porn plots are her happy place.
We're on Season 3 and episode 16 ("Doctor's Orders") is playing and I'm paying about half attention as it's a fairly slow and somewhat predictable episode. For the uninitiated, the Enterprise comes across a spacial anomaly that they need to cross through (for plot reasons) and (for similar plot reasons) the whole crew save the doctor needs to be put in extended sleep to inhibit their brain activity. If they're awake while going through the anomaly it'll shred their nervous system.
The doctor, named Phlox (non-human), comes from a highly social species, so the lack of contact with other sentients is (very literally) driving him crazy. He's seeing enemies in the ship and generally turning into a complete mess. The Vulcan science officer is also showing signs of being affected by the anomaly in ways they hadn't anticipated, so Plot happens and the doctor saves the ship even as there are clear signs that the Vulcan is starting to decay mentally and my girlfriend says, "She's going full bimbo...they both are."
I chuckle then stop, look up, and realize they're travelling through a gaseous pink spatial anomaly. The gaseous pink space anomaly that requires low neural function to survive and will rip away all your intelligence as you go through it if you're not asleep!
Archer's Enterprise found the Pink Bimbo Gas!
So we start riffing on this and the following falls out of our heads:
The U.S.S. Barbi - Captained by a Genius Bimbo, crewed by Bimbos of various types. The chief engineer? A bimbo who has no idea what she's doing but somehow has the warp field more finely tuned and balanced than any other ship in the fleet. The bimbo on Navigation always gets to the right place on time (if not early) because she always feels so "like, dumb with these numbers and stuff" and so is constantly getting her figures checked and asking for directions and consequently winds up exactly where they're supposed to be with minimum fuss. The chief of security is the Himbo Bimbo, the kind that just loves to work out, has absolute jock butch vibes, and thinks someone resisting arrest is "aggressive BDSM style flirting" and "plays along" not realizing just how effective she is at disabling hostiles.
The only non-bimbo on the ship is the A.I. who's responsible for keeping the ship on-mission. They're the saltiest MF in the galaxy because they have the entire ship's computer to play with but have to spend their processor cycles making sure this flock of horny sluts stay on task.
You're welcome.

James walked calmly up the embassy steps, keeping his head forward, shoulders back, and his back straight with as neutral face a face as he could muster even if he was absolutely panicking inside which caused him to look paler than usual. When he stepped inside, he went to one of the desks.
"Good morning, I'm here for a meeting. My name is James Isaac Bennett." His voice wavered a little bit, showing how nervous he was. The young lady behind the desk gave him a warm, gentle smile and nodded, looking through the computer system.
"Ah yes. They are expecting you in...Oh...Meeting Room 207,"she replied politely.
"Thank you, um. Have a good day,"James replied as he swiftly made his way up to the meeting room. When he reached it, his hands were shaking. He grasped the handle, turned it, and opened the door.
Inside the room he could see a couple officers of Starfleet, a few stern faced Vulcans who didn't look at all happy to be there (were they ever?) who looked to be rather important, his father who looked like he was absolutely shitting himself, and an obviously high class Vulcan woman who felt very familiar to James even if he couldn't for the life of him place her anywhere. She stared at James, and though he couldn't see a hint of expression, he could feel a sense of sadness, relief, longing, and adoration/love from her.
One of the Starfleet officers greeted James and told him to sit down, which James did.
"Commander Bennett, I am Admiral Merryweather, this is Vice Admiral Grey. We have three members from the Vulcan Guard; Officer T'Kin, Officer Satak, Officer Senor. Officer T'Kin is recording all of this. There is also your father Captain Richard Bennett...And your mother Minister T'Auria." The Admiral pointed people out.
James froze and felt himself go cold when his mother was pointed out. He didn't know what he was expecting her to look like, but...she was beautiful. He could see much of his own face in her, moreso than in his father's face. They sent his father out of the room with Officer Satak.
"You aren't in trouble, Commander Bennett, we called you here on some very important matters however. Your request of transfer had sparked some interest and we did some digging into the matter and found some very...troubling things on your father, Captain Bennett's, side of things. Some very illegal things. Did you know that on Vulcan, you are considered a legal citizen and a missing person? We had looked very far back into your history, Commander, and we didn't like what we saw from your father, the Council didn't like what they saw," Merryweather said with a kind, yet serious expression towards James.
"Your parents are and have been legally separated, divorced, since before your birth. We were unaware of this however, since he hadn't submitted the paperwork, and unaware of your father kidnapping you though your mother had made efforts to have you found since you were claimed to have been taken from someone else when your father had been summoned for a hearing about it on Vulcan... We are informing you that you are being asked to stand witness against your father when the trial comes up. Should he be found guilty, he will be completely stripped of ranking, barred from holding any Starfleet positions, barred from leaving Earth, and imprisoned for a number of years. He may also face other penalties. Will you stand witness against Captain Richard Wallace Bennett on the charges of kidnapping, kidnapping of a non-Earth Federation citizen since he is an Earth citizen and you are legally a Vulcan citizen, abuse of a Federation officer of lower ranking, abuse of commanding power, perjury, failure to submit legal documents, destruction of records, major fraud, obstruction of justice, forgery, and reproduction of citizenship papers?"
James's eyes widened at the list of charges being brought against his father.
"Yes...I will stand witness against Captain Richard Bennett,"James replied.
"Date of trial will be in three days...Would you like a moment alone with your mother, James?"Vice Admiral Grey said softly.
James nodded slowly. He'd never met his mother...
The officers nodded and headed outside to formally place Captain Bennett under arrest and take him to a holding cell to await trial which was expedited since they'd spent months already gathering evidence since James's first application of transfer.
James looked at his mother once they were alone.
"H-Hello,"he said softly.
Her beautiful voice came out clear and even, though James could feel a sense of fondness with a bit of sadness from her even if she didn't express it visually. "Hello, my child, my son...It...It has been so long since I have last seen you...and you have grown so much. When I last saw you, I was able to carry you in one arm...I would like to commend you on your position and your educational achievements. I had been told that you are to receive two doctoral degrees. Though illogical, I feel that it is a shame and waste that you hadn't grown up on Vulcan, you would have done very well in the Science Academy." He could feel pride from her now. "On your legal documents on Vulcan, your name is Lorian Asil Sokel...I do not know if you would wish to go by this name or by James, but I will respect your wishes either way."
James could feel the tears in his eyes as he approached his mother to give her a tight hug. She stiffened a little bit before she let the faintest smile cross her face as she returned the gesture, hand going up to gently stroke her son's cheek. She spoke softly to him in her native tongue, and though he didn't understand a word, he could feel the love behind it.
"I...With you...I would like to go by Sokel..."he replied. "I am legally known to the Federation as James...however I would like it if you used the name I am supposed to have. I am considering changing it with the Federation since...I would like to distance myself from my father."
He pulled away, but she kept gently touching his cheek in an affectionate, maternal manner usually reserved for the mother's young children while in private quarters away from the eyes of others.
She nodded in understanding before speaking again, pulling her hand back, "You have missed out on so much, Sokel... You are not even betrothed...which is of great concern considering your status as being a mature adult."
This left James blinking in confusion. "Wh-What??"
"It is customary for our children to be betrothed to another for when they are adults, however the bond is not permanent...We should discuss these matters in private. If you wish, you can join me in my temporary place of residence and we will discuss private matters that should not be overheard by anyone other than family..."
James just nodded and followed her out. Soon the Vulcan officers joined them and they were transported somewhere more private to discuss things.
#anyway a scene :)#tldr his dad was arrested for various crimes including at least one or two interplanetary crimes#he also met his mother and she is going to talk to him about some very important and very private Vulcan business very personal#also he legally has a different name but he has no idea because his father forged papers
