Sometimes I think about the Vodniks and the two times we see them in “There’s Something About Hook Foot” and “Race to the Spire”. These are clearly two different races or types of Vodniks: saltwater and freshwater. It makes me wonder about potential cultural differences between them.
The Vodniks in “There’s Something About Hook Foot” seem to be the law enforcers of the mer-world. Is this something that was assigned to them or something that they took upon themselves? Can any other mer-race choose to be a law enforcer, or is everything heavily segregated? For that matter, are they considered a type of mermaid?
Were the freshwater Vodniks protecting their home? Guarding a military base? Hunting? The saltwater ones can (and do) talk, and it seems that the freshwater ones understand the human language as well, but do they have a natural or learned disinclination to listen to reason when they’re on the attack?
idk, just some random thoughts about random monsters in a kid’s tv show.

Thanks to @majorabbey I’m looking at that ice structure way in the distance and wondering if that’s the Vodnik fortress

As Rapunzel and her friends fought, the Vodniks were getting the upper hand on them. “Bella! You’re okay.” The princess said to her friend seeing her change into a chipmunk, until she noticed one of the Vodniks snatching away her frying pan, her primary weapon during the fight.
Seraphina had to think fast to stop the Vodniks, and she thought of the Mariner’s Pearl she stole. “Stop!” Seraphina shouted to the Vodniks.
“You want it?” She asked putting the pearl on a rock, and she was going to threaten to smash it. “What are you doing?” Hook Foot asked in shock while he was being held by one of the Vodniks. “I'll go in peace, if you leave Hook Foot and his friends alone. Or else goodbye pearl.” Seraphina said making her ultimatum to the Vodniks.

the next day in the kingdom of Corona, it was a typical normal day, until it ended when the stranger ran passed through the wanted poster that says 'Silent Striker'
"he went this way!" Stan shouted when he and Pete went after him, Mirage and Bella are being prepared to catch him too, the guard captain and the other guard got him surrounded

hello yes hi i hope you dont mind, i couldnt stop myself. Saw @stiffyck amazing vodník scar today and i had to draw him and give him a companion. bebok grian is something ive been thinking about lately and ill never get a better opportunity to share than now. I hope u like it ?
(owl-like portrayals of beboks are not the most popular nowdays, but theyve been present for a long while! Its a silesian house demon that causes mischief and eats disobedient children (in some interpretations also drinks the blood of newborns); partents used it (and use to this day!) to scare their kids as a form of discipline, and it worked - while nowdays many silesians view bebok as a little creature with black fur, horns and big eyes (or like buka from moomins... lol), its assumed that back in the day they were associated with owls, due to the fact that owl corpses were often used as a scarecrow for other birds near cherry fruit trees and its name - bebok, bobo, babok (bebok, bobok, meaning, funnily enough, boogeyman in silesian) could come from owls (specifically bubo bubo - eurasian eagle owl). The thing about bebok is that it very much does not have a set apperance, and many people view it differently, depending on their own fears and ideas in their local community! So i went more owl-ish than usual, gave him a sack (beboks most common attribute) and a cieszyn folk costume in very rough shape)

Hello, vodník scar anyone?
Vodník is a being from Slavic mythology. They live in lakes and ponds, usually near a mill. They love to bother fishermen, they are mischievous and the collect souls of the drowned.
They also love to drown people and they wear a suit and a hat similar to the one scar had in s8!
Honestly I think this fits scar pretty well dinjfenjfsininfd

Hey I noice that alot of tangles big villians are women, I don't mind this at all or think its bad in its self at all, I was just wondering if there's a way to have series with only female villains without it becoming misogynist. I have seen many series where series only have men as villians. So I guess my biggest question would be if u can have a series full or only having female villians without becoming misogynistic. Also do u think there are monster society's in tangled the series. I pretty sure it's just cause the creators thought it would be cool, lol. Have a good day!
I mean, there's also a lot of main guy villains in TTS. Andrew, The Baron, Anthony the Weasel, Varian (while he was a villain), Hector (was a villain in the episode he was in), Matthews/Tromus, King Trevor, hell, even King Frederic is considered a villain by most of the fans, even though he'd technically be an antagonist but not villainous. So, using Tangled as your example, it doesn't have only female villains.
As for your question, though, having a balance of antagonists and protagonists who are all female helps keep it from being misogynistic. And, not to say that it's 100% the case, because women can be misogynistic, too, but when it's women producing and writing something (or people who once identified as women), it's less likely to be misogynistic.
There is at least one monster society in Tangled: the Vodniks (those merpeople who were chasing down Seraphina. There was a fresh water variety at Kresten Loch).

This scene makes me wonder, can these ice vodniks speak? Because they're definitely worried for each other but they never say anything or call out
