Towenda Choir Orchestra - Inspector Gadget 1983
Inspector Gadget is a media franchise that began in 1983 with the DiC Entertainment animated television series Inspector Gadget. It was co-created by Andy Heyward, Jean Chalopin and Bruno Bianchi, and was originally syndicated by DiC Audiovisuel and Lexington Broadcast Services Company. Since the original series, there have been many spin-offs based on the show, including additional animated series, video games, and films. The franchise follows the adventures of a sympathetic but dimwitted cyborg police inspector named Gadget as he investigates the criminal schemes of Dr. Claw and his organization, M.A.D., and fruitlessly attempts to stop him. However, neither side is aware that it is Gadget's niece, Penny, and her dog, Brain, who are truly responsible for thwarting M.A.D.
The original Inspector Gadget theme song was composed by composer Shuki Levy, and was based on Edvard Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King". The original French version has lyrics while the English and most dubs based on the English version are without. The theme is considered by many to be one of the most iconic and most recognizable theme songs in the world. Levy has been credited to the music of a huge amount of shows such as He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra: Princess of Power, Digimon: Digital Monsters, Sylvanian Families, Heathcliff, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! (poll #543), The Mysterious Cities of Gold (poll #545), and Lucky Luke.
Several early rap records sampling the Inspector Gadget theme song were released in 1985. The Kartoon Krew also released "Inspector Gadget" on ZYX Music, which contains vocal samples and quotes from the popular cartoon series, reenacted by the rap group for the song. East New York rap group Bad Boys & K-Love released a record on Starlite Records, "Bad Boys", featured on the UK hip hop compilation Street Sounds Electro 9. Following the trend, Slick Rick and Doug E. Fresh used samples from the Inspector Gadget theme song on their single "The Show". The theme song has been heavily sampled in the years since then. California-based punk band Lagwagon recorded a short instrumental cover of the theme song on their 1992 album Duh.

eos is an app that i script into most of my drs. i got inspired to create it after coming across a video on youtube of someone re-designing spotifys UI. i’ve used spotify, apple music, amazon music, youtube music, and many more music streaming services and none of them ever lived up to my expectations, so i thought why not create what i’ve always wanted? i took a long hard look at all of the features i wish the current apps had and put them all into one. i posted about it before on my previous account but didn’t go into the actual details much. it started as a music streaming app when it was launched but became much more than that. it’s one of my favorite parts of my drs because i’m an avid music listener and the features are to die for. eos is the only music streaming app in my drs. i also have a ceo dr where i’m the ceo of it because this app has basically become my child!!! anyways here’s what i have after working on it for months!
eos was launched on october 31, 2001 by robyn fenty (she’s older LMAO) and aliyah haughton. the app immediately gained popularity as the first and only music streaming service. it was created as a space where everyone could enjoy music. years later it implemented audiobooks, podcasts, music videos, interviews, merch, and concert tickets. it stands out with its flawless performance that never crashes or has bugs, its exceptional algorithm for fresh experiences each playtime, and its features like eosoulmates that connects users through shared music tastes.
lyrics and subtitles are always available in any language desired by the user and the platform includes organization like no other. exclusive presale codes are able for top listeners of specific artists because the app has its own ticketing system. eos is free for all users as the founders wanted to make a space to unify people during life’s challenge. to maintain this while making sure artists are fairly paid, revenue is generated through a share of concert ticket and merchandise sales, in-app donations directly supporting artists, non-intrusive sponsorships and partnerships, and grants from philanthropic organizations. this guarantees that eos stays true to making music accessible while supporting creators and users globally.

Being the eldest of four siblings meant you had always been the one looking out for Quinn, Jack, and Luke. You were a year older than Quinn, three years older than Jack, and five years older than Luke. But for the past year, you had been traveling the world, chasing adventure and discovering new places. 
As incredible as it had been, nothing compared to home, and you missed your family more than words could express. Jack and Luke had made it painfully obvious how much they missed you, constantly sending you messages and complaining about how quiet things were without you. Quinn, being Quinn, wasn’t as vocal, but you knew he felt the same. And your parents? They were counting down the days until you returned—except they had no idea today was the day.
You had planned this surprise down to the last detail. Turning off Life360 and telling your family you’d be in a no-service area had worked like a charm—no suspicions at all. You knew they were all at the lake house for the summer since hockey was on pause, which made it the perfect opportunity. Your flight had been at an ungodly hour, and by the time you landed in Michigan, the sun was already starting to dip—5 PM, just in time for their weekly game night.
Your childhood best friend, who was just as excited as you, had eagerly agreed to pick you up from the airport. The moment you stepped into the arrivals area, she sprinted toward you, practically tackling you in a hug.
“Y/N!” she shrieked, squeezing you so tight you could barely breathe. "god i misses you so much"
“I missed you too ,” you said breathlessly, laughing as you hugged her back.
The car ride to the lake house was filled with nonstop chatter, catching up on everything you had missed.
“Oh my God, I met the hottest man while I was in Australia,” you gushed, still thinking about how dreamy he had been. “He was just… ahh.”
She smirked, shaking her head. “I need details later. But first, let’s make your family cry.”
As soon as you arrived, you left your luggage in the car, making a mental note to grab it later. Your best friend had already put the next phase of the plan into motion—texting your mom, telling her she missed you and wanted to come over. In reality, she was setting up the perfect moment to record everyone’s reaction.
She walked inside, greeted everyone with a hug, and casually took a seat on the couch, pulling out her phone  she sent you a quick text Now and quickly switching to the camera app to record.
Taking a deep breath, you walked toward the door, heart pounding in anticipation.
You pushed it open gently, stepping inside. “so who is winning? Also where was my invite?”
For a moment, there was silence—stunned, disbelieving silence.
Then all hell broke loose.
Your mom gasped so loudly you thought she might pass out, and before you could blink, she was rushing toward you, arms wide open, tears streaming down her face. “Oh my baby—my baby’s home!” she sobbed, hugging you so tightly it felt like she’d never let go.
Jack let out an actual scream—high-pitched, borderline embarrassing—and launched himself at you, nearly knocking you over. “NO WAY! NO WAY! Y/N! YOU’RE HERE! YOU’RE REALLY HERE!” His voice cracked mid-sentence as he clung to you like a koala.
Luke was right behind him, eyes already red and watery. “I missed you so much,” he choked out, wrapping his arms around you and burying his face in your shoulder.
You felt another set of arms around you—Quinn. He didn’t say much, just a whispered, “I really missed you,” but the way his voice wavered told you everything you needed to know.
Your dad was wiping his eyes, trying (and failing) to keep it together. “This is the best surprise ever,” he said, pulling you into a tight hug.
Jack sniffled dramatically, rubbing his eyes with the sleeve of his hoodie. “I don’t care if it makes me look weak—I’M CRYING,” he announced.
Luke nodded furiously, wiping his own tears. “Same.”
Quinn, still hugging you, just sighed. “Yeah… me too.” 
Your best friend cackled from the couch, still recording. “I’m so glad I got all of this on video.”
Jack groaned. “This is so embarrassing.”
Jack wiped his face aggressively with his sleeve. “Whatever. I’m just happy you’re home.”
Luke sniffled, still clinging to you like a lost puppy. “You’re not allowed to leave again.”
Quinn, who had finally let go, gave you a soft smile. “Agreed.”
Your mom cupped your face, eyes still shining with happy tears. “You have no idea how much we’ve missed you.”
You leaned into her touch, sighing contentedly. “I missed you all more than words can say.”
Before you could say anything else, Jack suddenly gasped. “WAIT. YOU HAVE TO SIT NEXT TO ME FOR GAME NIGHT.”
Luke pouted. “Uh, no? She’s sitting next to me.”
“Guys,” Quinn interrupted, raising an eyebrow. “She just got here. Let her breathe.”
Your dad chuckled. “Or at least let her eat first.”
But before you could even think about food, Jack grabbed your hand, dragging you toward the couch. “Nope, nope, game night first. You’ve missed too many already!”
Luke plopped down on your other side, still holding onto your arm like a security blanket. “You’re not moving from this spot, Y/N.”
Quinn shook his head but didn’t argue as he sat across from you, smiling softly. “It really is good to have you home.”
Your mom brought over snacks, still occasionally wiping her eyes. Your dad gave your shoulder a squeeze before settling in next to your mom. Your best friend, having successfully recorded every teary-eyed reaction, put her phone down with a satisfied grin and leaned against you.
And as you sat there, sandwiched between your brothers, hearing their laughter, feeling their warmth, you realized this—this was home.
Jack suddenly squeezed your hand. “Promise you won’t leave for that long again?”
You squeezed back, looking around at your family, at the pure love radiating from each of them.
“I promise.”
And for the first time in a long time, your heart felt completely full.

SHE'S CRAZY WITH THE HEAT — 1946 ft. The International Sweethearts of Rhythm
In 1946, William D. Alexander began the production of a series of one-reel shorts, half-hour featurettes and feature films that would serve a dual purpose. These black cast subjects would be released to theaters that welcomed African American audiences; concurrently, the music segments would be excerpted from the films and released as Soundies. Ultimately, sixteen of Alexander’s musical shorts reached the Panoram screen, spotlighting the bands of Lucky Millinder, Billy Eckstine, Henri Woode and the International Sweethearts of Rhythm. (Alexander actually produced four films with the Sweethearts, three ten-minute short subjects and one feature, although some of the performances turns up in more than one film; only three performances saw release as a Soundie.) The International Sweethearts of Rhythm grew out of a band formed in the 1930s at the Piney Woods Country Life School, an institution – in part an orphanage – for poor African American children. A member of the music department had apparently taken note of the success of Ina Ray Hutton’s Melodears and decided that an all-woman band composed of school members might lead to something special. While they performed locally, the ISR did not begin to hit its stride until it left Piney Woods and became a professional touring outfit in 1941. The band was certainly “international” in nature, and its ranks included African American, Latina, Chinese, Indian, White and Puerto Rican musicians. In 1941, Anna Mae Winburn joined the orchestra as front woman and featured vocalist. During the war years Maurice King joined the band as both arranger and band manager. Born Clarence King in 1911, King played reeds and later became a fine swing arranger. While here we recognize his composition and arrangement for the Sweethearts – he called this tune “She’s Crazy with the Heat ” – King is best known for his longtime association with Barry Gordy and Motown Records for which he served as director of artist development. He worked closely with vocal groups, teaching the singers how to voice and phrase together. “Maurice brought sophistication and class to Motown,” said session musician Johnny Trudell. By 1946, the Sweethearts was recognized as one of the finest African-American bands in jazz. They recorded for Guild and RCA Records, broadcast regularly for the Armed Forces Radio Service, and toured Europe entertaining the GIs. While much of the success was due to Maurice King’s arrangements, the band’s musicians were all strong, and a special nod must go to Viola Burnside, one of the most neglected tenor soloists of the 1940s. I chatted with my friend Roz Cron, a member of the Sweetheart’s reed section, shortly before her passing. When I thanked her for her contribution, she paused and said, “Yeah, we were one of the best, one of the very, very best.” (via Jazz on Film)

January’s full Moon came to be known as the Wolf Moon because wolves were more likely to be heard howling at this time. Though it was traditionally believed that wolves howled due to hunger during winter, we know today that isn’t accurate.
Howling & other wolf vocalizations are heard in the wintertime to locate pack members, reinforce social bonds, define territory & coordinate hunting. One study recorded spontaneous howls and responses happen most often between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. .
  • According to the Wolf Conversation Center, gray wolves “inhabited most of the available land in the Northern Hemisphere.” Habitat destruction & persecution by humans have reduced their range by about a third worldwide & 90% in the lower 48 states.

• Hogmanay: December 31st- January 1st-
Christmas was not celebrated as a festival and virtually banned in Scotland for around 400 years. So it was, right up until the 1950s that many Scots worked over Christmas & celebrated their winter solstice holiday at New Year, when family & friends would gather for a party and to exchange presents which came to be known as hogmanays.  
Customs vary throughout Scotland & usually include gift-giving & visiting the homes of friends & neighbors. Another common Hogmanay tradition is to clean the house. Some believe that beginning the New Year with an unclean house may bring bad luck. Traditionally, this would include taking out the ashes from the coal fire. 
• Particular attention is given to the first-foot(is the first person to enter the home of a household on New Year's Day and is seen as a bringer of good fortune for the coming year bearing coal to ensure the house remains warm in the coming months  & should traditionally be a tall, dark-haired man.)
• Compitalia/ Feast of Lades: January 3-5-
Was an annual festival in honor of the Lares Compitales, household deities of the crossroads, to whom sacrifices were offered at the places where two or more ways met. Dionysius said that Servius Tullius founded the festival, which he describes as it was celebrated in his time. Dionysius relates that the sacrifices consisted of honey-cakes (Ancient Greek: πέλανοι) presented by the inhabitants of each house; & that the people who assisted as ministering servants at the festival were not free men, but slaves because the Lares took pleasure in the service of slaves. He further adds that the Compitalia were celebrated a few days after the Saturnalia with great splendor & that the slaves on this occasion had full liberty to do as they pleased.
During the celebration of the festival, each family placed the statue of the underworld goddess Mania at the door of their house. They also hung up at their doors figures of wool representing men & women, accompanying them with humble requests that the Lares & Mania would be contented with those figures, and spare the people of the house.
• Lunar New Year: January 29th-
The Lunar new year (Commonly referred as Chinese New Year) is one of the most important holidays in Chinese culture marking the end of winter & the beginning of the spring season, observances traditionally take place from New Year's Eve, the evening preceding the first day of the year to the Lantern Festival, held on the 15th day of the year. The new year starts on the new moon nearest the midpoint between the winter solstice & the spring equinox, sometime between January 21 and February 20.
• This holiday has ancient roots in China as an agricultural society. It was the occasion to celebrate the harvest & worship the gods & ask for good harvests in times to come
Each culture celebrates the Lunar New Year differently with various foods and traditions that symbolize prosperity, abundance & togetherness. In preparation for the Lunar New Year, houses are thoroughly cleaned to rid them of inauspicious spirits, which might have collected during the old year. Cleaning is also meant to open space for good will and good luck.
Some households hold rituals to offer food & paper icons to ancestors. Others post red paper and banners inscribed with calligraphy messages of good health and fortune in front of & inside, homes. Elders give out red envelopes containing money to children. Foods made from glutinous rice are commonly eaten, as these foods represent togetherness. Other foods symbolize prosperity, abundance & good luck.
The origins of the Lunar New Year festival are thousands of years old & are steeped in legends. One legend is that of Nian, a hideous beast believed to feast on human flesh on New Year's day. Because Nian feared the color red, loud noises & fire, red paper decorations were pasted to doors, lanterns were burned all night, and firecrackers were lit to frighten the beast away.

Angelina - Stygian Owl
Angelina was a classical opera singer with a vocal range of four octaves. She became the lead singer of the metal band Talons of Death. The wildly popular band recorded two gold albums: Prey for Mercy and Night Screechers. Stygian owls have golden yellow eyes which glow red in low light, earning the nickname the devil’s owl. When not on the road with the band, she teaches music in local public schools.

Benjamin - Spot-Bellied Eagle Owl
Benjamin works for the United States Postal Service. He delivered bills and junk mail. Years of dedication, hard work, and attention to detail advanced his career. Now he works in the Dead Letter office deciphering illegible handwriting on envelopes in the Great Lakes district office. He enjoys chess and reading spy thrillers and murder mystery novels.

Bunny - Screech Owl
Bunny was a child star actor in popular nature shows, including Into the Wild with Jack Hanna. She was the runner-up for national bird of the United States, just behind the bald eagle. Today she models for Audubon and Birds and Blossoms. She creates mixed media artwork and builds avant-garde nests that are shown in art galleries around the world.

Jared is a respected pundit and scholar of political science and philosophy. He is best known for his work on Foucault’s panopticon and state sponsored surveillance to control citizens. He’s an outspoken political activist. He enjoys world travel and eating exotic foods.  Recently, he wrote a dystopian science fiction novel and is waiting for a publisher to pick up the manuscript.

Nigel is in his third term as Prime Minister of the Parliament of Owls. His passion for serving owls and other species led to a life-long career in politics. He works for a better world for all animals and plants. His actions center on legislation to protect migration routes, conservation of wilderness habitats, and protection of endangered species. He enjoys touring the national parks and vacations in a cabin at Lake Tahoe.

Note: At the hospital were I work, the social wellbeing committee is having an office decorating contest for the Super Bowl. I work as an admin. assist. in a department currently has two people - myself and my boss. The office has space for 12 cubicles, and I'm the only one working here. The boss is only at the business offices one day a week, otherwise she's over at the main campus. To complicate matters, the office is locked on both sides and very few people ever come in. [Technically, my position is part of the administrative team, over on the main campus, but I never see anyone. Only one admin. assist. works with me remotely.] So how do I: 1) participate in social wellbeing and engage with coworkers, 2) decorate an office that is isolated from the outside world, 3) cleverly mock a sports event, and 4) be my true weird self? I choose the Superb Owl Party!

To make the decorations visible for people in the business center campus, I put the decorations in the hallway. We have a big white board that isn't attached to the wall. I put the posters on the white board and slid it out into the hallway! Then I notified a few people in other offices, "Hey, I decorated for the super bowl. Come over and see." And then I put out a little basket with a pen and sticky notes for people to cast their votes. At the end of the day on Friday, Bunny was the winner.

Confused, Steve grabbed the keys he'd just set down, and -- yep, right apartment number.
When Steve had left their brand new apartment that morning, he'd known that Eddie and Wayne would be relocating their things from point A(ll yours now, Wayne!) to point B(abe, this is ours. Ours.), but Steve didn't realize--
"Eddie?"
The apartment had been completely empty that morning when he'd left for work, the mattress that Steve had tied to the top of his Bimmer ("I'm not sleeping on the floor.") and yesterday's clothes being the only things left behind. Now, however, Steve wondered if there had been some kind of mistake with a hypothetical delivery service that he knew Eddie and Wayne definitely did not hire, because there were mountains of boxes in front of him. Towers. A miniature King Kong would have a field day in this apartment, and Steve could only stare, overwhelmed by the amount of....everything.
Until, finally, a familiar head of hair popped out from behind one of the towers.
"Eddie, is this really-?"
And then Steve's face fell, lips pursed at the sight of his boyfriend, blissfully oblivious to Steve's presence, absolutely jamming to the music blaring from the headphones clamped over his ears. Steve bit back a laugh at the guitar solo that Eddie vocally mimicked with his eyes closed as his air guitar got downright shredded.
Eddie bumped into a stack of boxes, then paused, hands held out placatingly to the swaying stack, and said, "Excuse me," before he went back to wailing along with the guitar in his head.
Steve could have taken him right then and there.
He settled for a light touch to get his attention, since it was obvious that Eddie would otherwise remain oblivious to Steve's presence, but when Steve touched his arm, Eddie's eyes flew open and the guitar wail turned into a banshee shriek, his arms flailing wildly as he fell back and into a tower of boxes in surprise. Steve tried to grab him, but it was no use. He followed Eddie to the ground, and the boxes crashed next to them.

Eddie, winded, grinned back then winced and turned toward the toppled boxes next to them. "Hope those didn't have records in them."
Steve frowned at words scrawled on the toppled box. "It says The Prancing Pony?"
Eddie relaxed. "Sheets and stuff."
Steve's confusion only grew when he saw other names across the other boxes, until he landed on one that said Rivendell.
He knew that name.
"Why is Rivendell on that one?"
"That, my liege, houses aaall of your hair care stuff," Eddie smirked.
"....Eddie, no."
Eddie grinned wider and winked.

Only those with their own stories can become the main characters of the stage. Jimin's story becomes even more ecstatic in his second solo album [MUSE] (2024). The title song <Who> entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 31 weeks (as of March 4, 2025). Jimin is writing a new history for K-pop by repeatedly making reverse runs on the Billboard main chart, which is the dream and symbol of success for all musicians around the world. The 31-week entry is the longest entry record for a K-pop soloist, tied with PSY's <Gangnam Style> 12 years ago. Even though it was released during his military service and there was no full-scale promotion, Jimin left his own mark with his sweet and commanding vocals and performance.
The title track of his first solo album, [FACE](2023), <Like Crazy>, topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart as soon as he debuted. Following Kyu Sakamoto's <Sukiyaki>, which became the first song by an Asian musician to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1963, Jimin has renewed the top spot for the first time in 60 years as an Asian soloist. With two solo albums that he personally led from composition to performance and visual creation, he proved his clear presence as an artist and his outstanding intuition to continue to survive as a superstar in the competitive global music market.
But the real reason [MUSE] is special is not just because of its high score. In this album, Jimin shows courage to face, determination to confront, and strength to overcome. In an era overflowing with stimulating and temporary topics, Jimin has returned to the basics and solidified his own world by burning with a pure and pure passion for music and the stage. Poet Rainer Maria Rilke wrote in <On Music>, "(Music) is something that is in our deepest self and goes beyond us and breaks through." Jimin, who has started a new chapter as a soloist, has been playing music that powerfully goes beyond himself throughout. That is why his presence flows into the deepest self and creates an unforgettable resonance. This infinitely human narrative makes Jimin's stage even more splendid.

The birth of Jimin
If you ask, 'What kind of musician is Jimin?' I would like to introduce this anecdote. After he finished preparing to release [MUSE], he practiced on stage every day with a microphone, even though he could not perform for at least two years before enlisting. He probably would have to start over from the beginning to wake up his muscles in order to precisely implement the performance of <Who>, which he meticulously perfected by watching the rehearsal video over a thousand times, after his discharge. Nevertheless, Jimin persistently focused on the essence until the very last moment. The reason he was able to quietly head towards the fundamentals without being distracted by the fluctuating reality is probably because Jimin is a person who sees far ahead. A person who knows what to do and where he is going is never trapped in the present.
Jimin once said about his first album activities that it felt like "peeling off my skin." This raw expression lets us guess how unfamiliar and intense the atmosphere must have been for him as a veteran singer and a rookie soloist standing on a new stage. For over 10 years, he must have experienced his life completely changing as a singer and as a person before he became 'Jimin'.
Jimin is a gambler. His life has been a series of battles with the reality before his eyes and with himself, and most of them seem to have been successful. However, Jimin's way of winning, as seen in [MUSE], is clearly different. Until now, he had accepted reality as an opponent to compete with, and had achieved extraordinary victories in a world of fierce competition and proof. He expanded this fierce journey and determination into music and included it in his debut album [FACE]. He created the world of soloist Jimin through a narrative of overcoming the emptiness and irritation of reality that makes him shaken by alcohol and winning freedom and purification. However, in [MUSE], harmony stands out more than confrontation. He absorbed and embodied the vivid reality he experienced while producing and promoting his first album and used it as a driving force to break out of the shell. This may be the reason why the intro title of [MUSE], which took a whole year and four months to complete carefully and purely, is 'Rebirth'. The fact that he started producing his second album during the latter half of the recording of his first album and ended up creating an album with such a different approach proves how rigorous he was in the process of reinterpreting his music and life, and how quickly he is growing as a musician.
The rebirth is proven on stage. Performing the title song <Who>, he shows his transformation from BTS Jimin, who has the power to "eat up the stage," to a conductor and protagonist. In a performance centered on theatrical movements designed with live performance in mind, he intersects with numerous characters and creates sparks of relationships and emotions. His role as the protagonist and leading the breathing of the stage is so precise that it brings about catharsis. Jimin's vocals, which have a special tone and texture that sticks in your ears, have long been likened to 'stardust', but in [MUSE], they go further and show explosions and orbits. The rebirth of soloist Jimin shows how much effort and attempt he made to be honest with the belief that 'singers speak through the stage' in a new reality where he has to reset the expressions and movements he has become accustomed to for 10 years.
The official activities of the title <Who> can be said to be all about the stage of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' in the US, which was filmed in advance before enlistment. The performance time is 3 minutes and 12 seconds. It is a short time to watch a couple of short videos that you can't remember anything about when you turn around. However, Jimin's stage leaves an impression and aftermath that will never evaporate. This is because it contains all the time he went through like a war to complete [MUSE]. Including this stage, the music video, and the dance practice video, Jimin watched the rehearsal video over 1,000 times for just three shots to complete the elaborate performance. He spent a long time of 1 year and 4 months creating an album whose promotion is uncertain before enlistment. This is probably because he knows that the 'class' of music is only the challenge to surpass oneself and the 'layering' of absolute time. Art is history contained in a moment. [MUSE] contains Jimin's determination to capture the infinite without being confined to the reality of limited time and unfamiliar crossroads.
The Birth of a Muse
If you can see the direction of soloist Jimin in the production process, you can see the world in music. [MUSE] is made up of scenes of colorful emotions that only Jimin can describe. Like an omnibus film, this album, with each story and point of view different, tells the story of absolute joy like a carnival, a sad emptiness like the shadow of a big city, and persistent love that spreads through the whole body like awe, with Jimin's expressiveness. If the first album [FACE] was black and white music that swept from the abyss of Jimin, not as an idol, but as a human being, [MUSE] contains a feast of love and inspiration that he explores and expands as an artist. The ecstasy and confusion, passion and drama that these vivid colors and contrasts create is Jimin's world.
The biggest reason Jimin's music feels so colorful is probably because of the tempo. Before his solo activities, he expanded the sophisticated and bold rhythm and expressiveness that he showed through his performances to the entire album. Just as Adagio (very slow) brings sadness and Fortissimo (very loud) brings excitement, tempo in music leads to emotions and narratives. Jimin's solo album has unique emotions that ripple from his own speed, gliding, jumping, and exploding across the stage. In contrast to [FACE], which focused on establishing his identity with music with a unified mood, [MUSE] changes the musical and narrative genres of each track as if he were going on a fun adventure. This time, Jimin shows his competitive spirit, completing the emotions of each track with careful interpretation and expression, and proving his wide spectrum as a musician. In the music that started from the resonance of his origins, you can feel not only the emotions of Jimin as a being, but also his muscles and temperature.
The first track, <Rebirth (Intro)>, which sings of the joy of love with a fairytale-like sensibility, encapsulates Jimin's world. The first album [FACE] showed Jimin's Birth as a soloist. In the second album, he moves on to 'Re'birth. This song captures the moment Jimin opens the door to a new dimension called [MUSE] and takes his first step. The sharp gaze that faced the abyss of the self in [FACE] changes into a light of wonder and optimism, like an innocent being that just hatched from an egg and looks around the world with curious eyes. The black and white world where ash and fire burned becomes a fresh garden full of spring flowers. <Rebirth (Intro)> captures the peak of seasonal changes from [FACE] to [MUSE], and lets Jimin immerse himself in the mystery of life called music. The Muse in Greek mythology is interpreted as a being that gives creative inspiration. The 'muse' in [MUSE] refers to the mysterious world of creative inspiration that Jimin swims in.
<Rebirth (Intro)> is similar in form to the first track <Face-off> from the first album in that it encapsulates the theme of the album, but in essence, it is connected to the double title <Set Me Free Pt. 2>. This song contains a narrative of liberating the self suppressed by fate and being reborn as a new self. In the music video, Jimin, who was locked in a circular prison and danced a primitive dance and yearned for salvation, finally achieves freedom and enters the world of light. <Rebirth (Intro)> is the story of Jimin being liberated from that circular prison. The "pitch-black me" expressed in the lyrics enters the world of [MUSE] for "true love" in order to be reborn and "sing while making eye contact with you." The main character of [FACE] was the 'past me'. In [MUSE], it evolves into 'the present of you and me'. Through the connection of these two seemingly disparate dimensions, Jimin's true world as a musician is born. As a side note, the development where you and I emerge from the pitch-black past and find ourselves shining is quite romantic.
The pre-released song <Smeraldo Garden Marching Band> is a serenade dedicated to his fans, his other muse. It may be a bit complicated, but [MUSE] has two axes of 'muses'. The muse as creative inspiration explained above, and M'US'E, which embodies the 'fans (US)' within 'Jimin (ME)'. This song was inspired by the Beatles' <Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band>. You can see the influence in the long title that ends with 'Band', the track video that was filmed live with live sound, and Jimin wearing a black suit, which is the first thing that comes to mind when talking about Beatles fashion.
However, what is essentially connected to <Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band> is the 'Lonely Hearts Club'. The Lonely Hearts Club refers to an advertisement posted on a bar bulletin board in search of a special someone to fill the loneliness. <Smeraldo Garden Marching Band> is a song about someone sitting alone at a bar table in a big city on a dark night, drinking beer and looking around, and leading them by the hand to 'Smeraldo Garden'. The background of the track video is reminiscent of the Alpine meadows in the movie <The Sound of Music> (1965). In a fairytale-like world where children sing and dance, pollen flies during the day and fireflies light up at night, Jimin sings with love and blessings like a wedding singer. The featuring of Loco, who expressed honest love, is added to convey Jimin's heart of wanting to gift perfect happiness to his fans through music.
In fact, the real pre-released song on this album is the last track, the fan song <Closer Than This>. Released right after Jimin's enlistment, this song conveys a warm message that he will always be by his fans' side, like the moon, his symbol, even at night and during the day when the moon is not visible.
<Slow Dance> sung with Sofia Carson is the only duet song that has been included in Jimin’s solo album to date. “What if Jimin, who has a high and soft vocal range, sang a love ballad between a man and a woman?” If you’ve been keeping an eye on his journey, you’ve probably asked yourself this question at least once, but Jimin has come up with some very interesting results. <Slow Dance> is a romantic band-sound R&B song about a man and a woman in love holding hands and dancing together, vowing to be together forever. When you listen to the song, you imagine a young couple dancing leisurely, looking into each other’s eyes in a warmly lit dance hall among many people, as if they are the only two people in the world. As the main character of this classic scene where the man leads and the woman gives in and dances in pairs, it was inevitable that Jimin would have to think about the role he should play as a male vocalist. The answer he, a romantic Busan man, found was perhaps to be the one who loves more. Jimin savors the lyrics more gently and delicately, conveying the fullness of love. With the sweet harmony of Sofia Carson's soulful vocals, the song creates a very modern and sophisticated mood despite being a classic story.
Sofia Carson's dreamy voice reminds me of the lover's cruel whisper in <Like Crazy>, "I think we could last forever. Trust me." <Slow Dance> is like a happy lucid dream that Jimin in the <Like Crazy> world struggles in the vast loneliness and doesn't want to wake up from.
<Be Mine> follows the lineage of Jimin's 'know-what' songs. It is an Afrobeats song with a lyrical Latin melody that contains a faithful courtship to share love from sun to sun on a tropical island with a hot temperature. It was as popular among fans as the title song <Who>. This is probably because it accurately captured the wish of 'I wish he would do a song like this once'. <Be Mine> is reminiscent of BTS's solo song <Filter> included in [MAP OF THE SOUL: 7] (2020), which is the ancestor of the 'know-what' lineage. It is a seductive and sophisticated Latin pop song, and it received an explosive response that literally turned the fandom upside down when it was performed at a concert. The passionate climax unique to Latin melodies, the exotic percussion sounds that hit deep into the heart, and the unpredictable development are a perfect fit for Jimin, who has a special sense of rhythm. But while <Filter> focused on expressing a seductive atmosphere, <Be Mine> is dedicated to expanding Jimin’s strengths as a vocalist into the genre. Jimin’s solid voice, which adheres to a tight and realistic sound, creates a groove and gives a refreshing and cool feeling.
Sexiness is probably the charm that Jimin can express most easily and overwhelmingly. That is why Jimin is wary of a seductive mood in his solo album. Although <Like Crazy> contains seductive lyrics, it feels like a means of self-defense to hide an intense lack. <Be Mine> is the song that Jimin finds easiest, and therefore requires the most complicated thinking. Fortunately, Jimin seems to have found the answer to how to handle his special weapon.
The title <Who> is a song about emptiness. Emptiness is a longing for something that cannot be reached, a longing for something that has already been lost before it can be had, and yet a completely contradictory emotion that remains absent. Jimin is good at expressing complex emotions. This is because he has an outstanding talent for separating and embodying even the smallest beats. Also, his delicate and unique vocals create unique resonances depending on the composition and harmony, just like an instrument. The spectrum of emotions that he can convey is wide. However, the reason why <Who> has ranked in the upper ranks of the Billboard Hot 100 chart even after 7 months of its release and has broken countless first and best records is not because he has the exemplary conditions to express emptiness. It is because he deeply understands that emotion. <Who> is filled with the despair and wandering, patience and maturity that he confessed in [FACE]. And true music always captures the hearts of the audience.
The music video is reminiscent of the night streets where the main character time-leaps into the future at the end of the movie <Back to the Future> (1985). In a street full of flashing neon signs, screaming protesters, and gusts of wind that can blow away cars, Jimin dances as if he can't hear anything and acts out his loneliness in the crowd. The reverse performance in <Like Crazy> makes his loneliness even more fateful. In <Like Crazy>, Jimin is trapped in his own darkness and rejects all those who reach out to him, so he becomes alone. In <Who>, he approaches first. The pair choreography, which is the climax of the <Like Crazy> performance, where they dance as if facing mirrors but end up not being able to touch each other, is reversed, and he breaks the barrier and goes inside. However, he is unable to find 'Who' in the end, and is left alone in the night streets, completing the emptiness.
Jimin's vocals are particularly outstanding in this song. As a song about an active journey to find 'Who', he shows off his singing style that is as if he is speaking firmly. Jimin controls the chaos of tension and pleasure where sharp guitar riffs and synthesizer sounds boldly collide with his powerful and unique vocals. At the climax where he exclaims refreshingly, "Who is my heart waiting for (Who is the one my heart is waiting for?)", he explodes with the pain of not being able to find 'Who', adding a sense of realism to the song's narrative. The retro sound of early 2000s pop style combined with Jimin's unconventional vocals also allow one to feel an interesting sense of the times. He even released an acoustic version remix recorded right before his enlistment, breaking all the attempts he had made as a vocalist through <Who>.
The Birth of a Game Changer
For a solo singer who started out as a group member, the second album is more important than the first. The first album shows identity, and the second shows direction. In less than two years, Jimin has released two albums that are like his alter ego, in which he personally participated in the composition and arrangement of the songs. Not only has he solidified his own identity and direction, he has also achieved unprecedented commercial success. While making ample attempts as a soloist, he has also expanded the group’s narrative by incorporating symbols of the BTS worldview, such as the Smeraldo flower, as the main concept. And despite all this, he is only 29 years old. As a new game changer in the global music market, Jimin’s future is limitless.

“Sir, with all due respect, this is horseshit.”
Elizabeth Collins stood in front of the giant desk, usually manned by the entirety of the Admiralty, now barely a sixth taken up by one man, Admiral Townes, who just sighed. This was clearly not how he wanted to spend his afternoon. He could be golfing with the Riltayon ambassador, their species had the lower half of arachnids, but no, he got picked for this.
“You knew going in that the Herald was set to be decommissioned at the end of this year, you knew it would be a short posting when you asked for it,” he said, bracing himself. This was gonna be rough. Ensign Liz was infamous for being…vocal.
“Sir, that’s not the issue here and you know it. I worked my ass off to get that posting. I got to cut my teeth on a heavy cruiser for god’s sake,” Liz said, flushed. “My grades at the academy were flawless, and my record shows-”
“Your record?! Let’s talk about your record for a moment.” A few taps on the table and a holoscreen appeared. Through the transparency Liz could see her file photo as well as lines of shifting texts as updates and memos filed in. “Your first week aboard you locked a supervising officer in a containment field and sedated him with gas.”
“The guy had a zeno-sporic infection, so I only really gassed the mushrooms. Plus I cured him.”
“A month later you stole a shuttle and jumped to restricted space to collect samples of…” a few scrolls down, “…why does this just say glowing rocks?”
“Because the proper noun for them isn’t pronounceable by humans, we don’t have beaks, sir.”
“Why’d you need glowing rocks?” Townes asked.
“Because the rocks were radioactive, and one of the Zilgrats we had on board at the time needed an interesting blend of chemotherapy, it’s actually really cool when…”
“Enough, ensign.” Admiral Townes cut her off, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Elizabeth…Liz. Clearly, you are your father’s kid. You are brilliant, and fearless.”
“Thank you, sir, I know dad would be happy to hear you say that.”
“I wasn’t finished. You’re also completely irresponsible, have zero regard for protocol or regulations, and think you’re always right. I’m reading that word for word from your file, your last captain made it the first thing you read in there.” Townes clicked off the hologram and sighed.
“Look, Liz, I’m not saying this as an admiral right now. I’m saying this as your uncle. Your dad, my brother, made me promise to watch out for you when he left the service, so that’s all I’m trying to do here.”
Liz took a beat before speaking.
“I understand that, sir.”
“Your new assignment has already been certified by the admiralty, and you ship out from Tranquility in two days on board the Noah.”
Liz, in the middle of rolling her eyes, actually did a double take. “The Noah? That test ship for interspecies cooperation?” That might actually change things, an opportunity to examine different species up close for extended periods of time was a goldmine of research for her.
“You need to know though, this is your last shot. Every rules, every regulation, to the letter, or I can’t help you anymore, regardless of what I promised your dad.”
Liz didn’t stop to think too hard about it.
“Deal.”

In the 50 years since the Human race had joined the GAIL, or the Grand Assembly of Intelligent Lifeforms, Earth had undergone several extreme and extraordinary changes. The first being the level of technology. In the early 21st century we got to experience communication and information technology progress by leaps and bounds, and that was managed just by ourselves. The addition of alien technology added rocket fuel to that particular bonfire. Our understanding of biological and technological sciences shot forward by centuries, as well as transportation, namely space flight. Our first interplanetary guests, the lizard like Quintins, shared their forcefield and artificial gravity specs to make interstellar travel safer for us as well.
They were, however, initially horrified at our ‘rudimentary’ first designs. There were a lot of questions like ‘you use explosives as initial propellant?’ and ‘you shot into space at faster than light speeds without any shield array?’ In retrospect, the human race should not have gotten as far as it did. But there we were, members of a collective 200 species strong, setting out into the stars to explore the universe.
Ensign Liz Collins was thinking about such things as she walked the gangway aboard the Noah, a midsized exploratory ship, the first in a new line of experimental expedition vessel. The experiment was two fold. The first, and more practical, was to test a new propulsion system the science and engineering division of the GAIL had submitted. In theory it was capable of long sustainable WARP time with a significantly higher energy efficiency compared to older models, as well as a new power core make up to keep the ship running longer between docking. Supposedly the Noah would be capable of going at least a year without a recharge.
The second, more dubious aspect of the experiment was to see how many different species handled being in close proximity to one another. The Noah’s full crew compliment numbered exactly 100, and of the 200 races in the GAIL, 25 volunteered to put 4 members each of their species on board. Meaning Liz would only see 3 other humans for potentially the next year of her life.
How exciting, she thought. Finally a chance to study what the Galaxy has to offer up close and personal.
The cast off ceremony was boring. The captain, she believed he was a member of the Mergal species, was the only reason she didn’t try to sneak out. It appeared he had a cybernetic limb above the second insect set on his abdomen, which was interesting. Definitely more interesting than the other three humans she saw in the crew line up.
Afterwards she finally made it to the science division and booked it to biotech. The lab was state of the art, next gen super computers, stasis field generators, even a gene splicer!
“Oh hell yes,” Liz said, taking it all in. “Yeah, I can make this work.”
The only thing that stood out to her, however, was the potted plant in the corner. It was about 5 foot tall, standing in a square aluminum ‘pot’, the only thing in the room that wasn’t made of metal or ceramic. Upon closer inspection, it was more like a small tree or sapling, where its vines had wrapped around one another to grow up instead of hang down, with a lush leafy canopy.
“Why is there a tree in my lab?” Liz said, mostly to herself, but apparently the tree had an answer for her.
“Because this is my lab as well.”
Liz was so startled she thought the translator would fall out of her ear.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry, I didn’t know there were any Sprygans on the crew!” Liz dropped her stuff onto the counter and approached the tree, who she now recognized as her crewmate. “I’m, uhh, Ensign Elizabeth Collins. You can call me Liz, if you like.” She held out her hand, unsure of even how they’d shake. As she stood there, the tree pulled itself out of the pot and onto the floor, dragging soil and dirt with it as its roots retracted into its body. Outside the pot the Sprygan only stood about 3 1/2 feet tall.
“Why is your…hand(?) out?” It asked. Liz’s translator registered two questions asked, and she realized the Sprygan wasn’t sure what a hand was.
“Oh, sorry,” she said, dropping her arm, “it’s how my people greet each other. Sorry.”
Great. First new species she’s gotten to meet and she’s acting the fool. Chocking it up to nerves, she tried to get back on track.
“What should I call you?” She asked. “Any pronouns I should be aware of?”
Liz watched as a vine extended from their body and reached out to grab a photo bar and switch it on. The bar lit up with synthetic star light and Liz realized the Sprygan was eating.
“You can call me whatever is convenient for you. On Spryga only the colonies have names, and I am not there right now.”
Liz was simultaneously baffled, intrigued, and mortified. She knew this, she knew all of this, this was practically social studies 101. She had to get her footing here. Townes voice in her head was disappointedly saying ‘Last chance’ over and over again. Change of topic then.
“Why’d your people volunteer for this mission then? I thought Sprygans didn’t leave their home world for anything.”
The Sprygan looked at her a moment, or at least she thought it did. Hard to tell when it didn’t have eyes.
“We came to see how predator species behave, so as better to surpass(?) them on our home world.”
The word ‘surpass’ flagged an error in her translator. Liz tapped the earpiece she was wearing and went to the alternative translation.
[Survive]
Oh. Oh god damnit. Liz you idiot. The Sprygans were a plant based race, they weren’t hunter or gatherers, they were basically the vegetables to other species on their home planet, of course they had predators they’d have problems with.
“Yeah, uhh, that makes sense.”
Before she could make any other off handed mistakes, Liz was quite literally saved by the bell.
“Attention all hands, this is your captain speaking. The start of our year long mission begins now. You all know the purpose of this ship is to test not only our mettle, but our spirits as well. Every species, every crewmate aboard this ship is going to be tested in ways they never have before, to the utmost limits. Help each other. Stand with each other. Because together, we’re going as far as our connections can take us. Everyone, to your stations. We’re going to WARP.”
The announcement clicked off. The Sprygan climbed back into their pot. Liz sat down at her station and sighed.
It was gonna be a long year.

"Tears in Heaven" is a song by English guitarist, singer, and songwriter Eric Clapton and Will Jennings, written about the death of Clapton's four-year-old son, Conor, who had died in 1991 after falling from the 53rd-floor window of a New York City apartment. Clapton made numerous public service announcements to raise awareness for childproofing windows and staircases.
The song was Clapton's best-selling single in the US and reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100. In the UK, it reached number five on the UK Singles Chart, and also charted in the top 10 in more than 20 countries. It won three Grammy Awards for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year.

mindless touches & other sentiments [sunstreaker, first aid & skywarp]
personally, I don’t pin sunstreaker for being much of a fan regarding anything touchy-feely, lest in public. circling back to this headcanon, here is where a lot of softer gestures and actions would occur, behind the privacy of closed doors. his thumbs settle on your front, just below your pelvis, and the rest of his digits curl around your back to interlock. sunstreaker probably finds out if you’re ticklish here too, accidentally nudging a sensitive spot that has you squirming away from his touch. just because he’s an instigator, often times he will map out the areas that get the most reaction out of you. your laughter is enough to keep a small smile on his face, before dropping his head back into your lap with an exhausted huff.
sunstreaker probably ruffles up your clothes. a lot. he tugs at your sleeve to get your attention, pinches the back of your shirt to gently pull you closer, sticks his cold fingers underneath your sweatshirt. in his mind, your clothes are replaceable, and you are not. early on in the relationship, he’s likely still figuring out the ratio of how benign and soft he has to be with his s/o. in more intimate moments, the placidness arrives on instinct, but in more quick motions or subconscious ones, he’s got some navigating to do. so, if he’s in a conversation he needs an escape route from, he’s reaching next to him for your sleeve to yank a few times.
he is definitely a ‘acts of service’ mech, in love language terms. sunstreaker will end up doing whatever his s/o asks, but he’s going to complain about it. he insists on driving you to and from work, running errands with you any chance he has. he's less likely to vocalize his affection and sentiments aloud, so demonstrating his love in other ways is a happy compromise for him. with time, sunstreaker may become a little more forthcoming and open to articulating his endearment in other manners. yet, he's a creature of habit, and tends to adhere to the gestures he and his s/o have already carefully carved out. as long as you're happy, he is as well.
first aid gently thrums his digits against his s/o side. it's often an instinctive and involuntary action, typically either when he's lost in thought, or listening intently to what you're saying. he also is guilty of slowly pulling you closer to his side, especially if he deems you are too far away after time spent apart. i don't see him as someone overly affectionate, but more lowkey and simple actions demonstrate his longing and caring nature. the sentiments he does display are crafty and artful. half the time, nobody knows nor realizes first aid has a palm on your lower back, or a digit slipped around your arm.
first aid will make it work so that if he can do everything one handed, but it mostly occurs while he's sat at his desk going over files and records. one digit comes to rest in your hand, mesmerized by the soft skin of your palm and how warm your touch is. if you invite him to do so, don't expect him to let go so easily. simple gesture such as this keep him grounded and soothed, feeling entirely at ease to have you so close. a curiosity arises, oftentimes his touch will traverse from your hand to your wrist, all the way up to the crook of your elbow and then back down. if you have a sweatshirt or long sleeves on, he traces over the cloth, completely unbothered by it.
time apart in all likelihood hits him pretty hard. mostly because it is more often than not his fault, responsibilities require his attention over other things and it's not a statement he likes to dwell on. first aid supposes and comes to understand it makes time together all the more important, treasuring it. he's very upfront about everything and wants to make sure you are alright with his occupational demands. though, this also leads to making time for his s/o in moments he never thinks are long enough, but desirable nonetheless. such as trying to line up both your breaks so you can catch up together, or even if he's running on empty he'll still pick you up from work. just so he can see you and have an exchange that isn't carried out over the phone.
the first time skywarp tried to affectionately touch you, he shocked you. and it's only ones natural reaction to sit up a little straighter at the noise of the static, to which he thought he actually hurt you, yanking his servo up and away. immediately, his brow furrows, a concerned expression arising, laced with some mild irritation. after you quickly explain the phenomenon, he's even less inclined to continue touching you. it takes a lot more coaxing and patience to build that confidence back up, firmly and relentlessly expounding that it hadn't hurt, not even a bit.
skywarp doesn't understand why, but you always fall asleep against his side. it's usually if he's preoccupied with work or a task in one hand, but the other is totally free to settle on your lower back, then over the curve of your hip. he claims he isn't doing anything, but the combination of his warmer touch and the shapes he's drawing on your upper thigh? game over. skywarp knows your about to fall asleep when he feels your cheek land on his torso, fingers grabbing at whatever plating is in reach. he teases you, enough that you burrow deeper into his side to evade his sweet jests, leaving a trail of mumbled, sleepy nonsense.
loves running a digit up your spine. it always, without fail, creates a chill, shuddering at the sensation. this is often a subconscious gesture to get your attention, but if he's doing it intentionally your reaction is heavily amusing to him, and what he's searching for. skywarp loves observing your shoulders jump to your ears, a red twinge appearing before you turn around, a sheepish smile already there. he would do anything in his power to make his s/o blush, and evidently hooking a digit underneath your chin and telling you how perfect you are is the number one culprit.
