so im kinda new to ice dance, but which team, current or past, do you think has the best and most difficult lifts?

well, VM haha - i love them so much that you can accuse me of being biased, but there are many objective reasons they were the best at this - @macaroni-rascal made a wonderful post about their lifts and what made VM exceptional at them:

iconic VM lifts are so numerous that @macaroni-rascal didn't even mention their incredible serpentine lift from Pink Floyd or the one in the Charleston program both just after her first surgery where she rolls down his body and perfectly but blindly puts her hand on his skate, and there are more - their body control and awareness of each other was just unparalleled. as were their skating skills, their strength - it allowed them to do incredibly difficult lifts and make them look easy. and to do them in such a musical way - they were the best

I just rewatched Umbrellas of Cherbourg and-

Virtue and Moir really started their senior careers at 18 and 20 skating to those songs and ended up estranged old friends with completely separate lives, him a small town elite coach and her a city loving influencer...

Life imitates art, doomed from the beginning, etc.

Tessa and Scott never really found the words to describe what their relationship was like. In an interview he said, "I love her but we are not a couple... It's difficult for me to understand sometimes..." Also, Tessa said that she doesn't understand how to define their relationship but, as long as they know what they feel for each other, it doesn't matter.

To love someone so much that you can't put it into words, to love someone so much in a way nobody will ever understand is so weirdly beautiful!

I think the love they had for each other will die with them someday. Nobody, literally nobody, not even their life partners would know what it was like to be Tessa and Scott. This was theirs and theirs alone.
