They both came up on Pinterest the other day and I’m like: ‘you know what, this moment is amazing- yay them for being this raw and vulnerable, and I’d love to know which take on it we all each love’.

I love them both but the picture specifically of the worlds one is one of my fave pics ever..

I love the first one from nationals bc if you zoom in on the picture he has this look in his eyes that I read as kinda apologetic/ troubled this is happening- like behind his eyes in that split second it’s like ‘it’s ok T, it’s just me’ but in the gif and the video it’s so unexpected the way he goes right into her face so aggressively AS IF he’s gonna bite or spit on her, and based on the way she looks down I kinda think it was unexpected to her and he just did it that way in the moment. I love that Idea that they were so comfortable and had this incomprehensible amount of trust in each other that they could do more unexpected things mid program- in Carmen they could kinda scare eachother a bit then in a gentler program they added in kisses and caresses randomly.

The worlds version is amazing and gives me chills, especially her sadistic smile as he grabs her tighter.. the way he doesn’t just stop but melts further into her and does like a roll through his body..

I forgot to mention this the last time I went on a rave about Carmen, but there’s a full video of this FD comp on YouTube with Czech commentary, and I think I mentioned that CL from🇮🇹 went next after VM and also did Carmen. They have a “comparable” moment at the beginning of their program, and once again this is not a hate on other teams but just to outline what makes VM as good as they are, is CL’s is such a cringe moment, they look so uncomfortable and it feels like they aren’t in character/are gonna laugh/break focus bc they aren’t in the story..

Without saying stuff I don’t feel comfortable saying publicly on the internet, VM went for it and weren’t afraid to imply what it’s implying.. the whole back story to their Carmen was this obsession with sex and their characters can’t control their urges, acting on primal instinct instead of using thought and reason.. so that’s what this moment (esp the worlds one) screams to me, they just let go of any fear of embarrassment or any connection to their relation to each other off the ice, any fear of judgement of who’s watching them and become these characters and act on instinct.. it’s amazing and gives me chills and makes me think about how amazing they are to be able to let go of anyone/anything outside of the story they are in. Sorry this wasn’t meant to end with another “that’s why VM are the best” thing.. but seriously show me anyone else that can to what they do. Who else can you take a 2 second moment of a program and breakdown everything about how incredible it is..

My very crude references.. Goat and lambert + precotl lamb and a the few other endlings from other flocks they travelled with for a little bit
