One of the great things about fiber arts (at least to me) is that... you outright own the things you make. It's hard for me to comprehend actually owning something, and that's that. The item you have created doesn't need to come with strings attached (pun intended).
In a world where you are constantly buying things but not owning any of it, truly, it's such an odd experience to actually have ownership of your labour, time, and love like that.
#art#fiber art#crochet#honestly that's how i feel with my blanket still#like i don't own my subscription to spotify or the games i virtually purchased fullprice (which. why)...#...but when i get my yarn and i use the crochet hook i have been abusing a little i OWN the things it and i make#that's honestly kind of intimidating to me because i haven't truly felt i owned anything. like not even my life. it's a problem.#i just got some pretty yarn to use for a cardigan. they told me to use acrylic but i can't wear acrylic and i like cotton#<it's insane that i can just Decide to not use the pattern recommendations. like that's still crazy to me#anyway fuck capitalism and adopt a craft if you can#it's SUCH a freeing experience and it will make you feel crazy once you know what it feels like to actually own your labour. lol.#like it doesn't matter WHAT craft it is. could be knit. could be wood burning. could be abstract car manufacturing...#...as long as you can do it safely to your standards and you are satisfied and fulfilled with it then it can change you. let it change you.

#cyberpunk 2077#virtual photography#male v monday#masc v monday#oc: vesper kimura#i truly respect all the corpo vs who are so put together and were in it for the whole rise to power and the thrill of the game#my guy however is the world's most miserable human experiment who god (me) will not let die#but yeah all his implants pretty much were forced on him and he has a very BAD relationship with his body in terms of#not only appearance but also function. he doesn't have much of a sense of touch and he doesn't feel normal bodily urges other than being#tired all the time and having anxiety so bad he shakes#surprise maybe you shouldn't take away 60% of what makes a guy human and expect him to be your funny and loyal killing machine#anyway hi llook at him he's so sad i need to hit him with a hammer and kiss him after

#firefly#silver wolf#honkai star rail#hsr fanart#my art#ughhh okay this was meant to be quick sketch that turned out into a slightly bigger doodle than intended hhh#I wanted to play with skies and couldn't get firefly's base out of my head and how achingly gorgeous and sad that whole scene was#then I was rotating sw and firefly and thinking about how they have this shared escapism#where vr or dreams feel more comfortable to them than reality#all the things these virtual or non corporal spaces have given them in comparison to the hells they've had to experience in the 'real' worl#and idk maybe firefly's base would just be a cool place to hang and game#escapism within escapism lmao

#having to be the adult when talking to your parents really fucking sucks#i feel like i am insulting them by not speaking openly and accepting that i can't#i hate having to apologize for every little thing that i do or say while their mistakes are expected to be ignored and forgotten#and they never apologize for shit#iit also feels incredibly isolating having to pretend like everything is fine in front of other family members#bc in my experience in serbian culture you are not allowed to question anything that your parents do#and you are betraying them by disagreeing with them on virtually anything#respect is more important than honesty#and i hate it bc when i play that game i feel like i am bullshitting them#which i can't imagine wanting to do to a grown adult#much less a loved one#personal

sorry for being nosy but could you elaborate the fake animal thing? 😭
i 🩷 ancient crusty virtual pet game series
#this is my most niche hobby tbh and ive been doing it intermittently basically my entire life#as a child i started masquerading as an adult specifically to partake in the (surprisingly consistently large) community this game has#and the best part of it is the hex editing (hexing) which is now what i mainly do#it is oddly relaxing and overall a kind of wholesome experience#it gets really elaborate sometimes and is kind of more challenging than u would expect#basically u have to use a few different programs in tandem w each other to get what you want#some of it is visual and some of it’s more of a ???coding. i guess. type of thing#but people do some crazy things with it!!! lots of new developments recently that have made it even better too#we can have different color palettes now so that has been positively life changing#anyway there’s a site where you basically can sell your petz for fake currency which u then use to buy other people’s petz#im like a virtual animal hoarder at this point#anon

My friends have recently gotten into Anno 1800 and convinced me to play with them except I just straight up can't bring myself to do what's necessary to build an empire.
What do you mean I can censor the paper, that's wrong. Of course I could up the productivity but that's unfair to the workers. I don't WANT to bring the police into this, that's class warfare.
I'm literally too woke to enjoy things.
#yes i am aware theyre all virtual but i can't shut off my empathy like that.#the good news is while my expansion is very slow I'm not losing money anymore.#and fo be fair i am literally winging it. all my friends have experience in anno games i had fo figure out how the fuck the menus work first#i still don't know how shipping trade works. no fucking clue i always run into an issue. but that's a probelm for another time#foxy speaks

Some vanilla raw photomode pics I took but never used during the Official Photomode Challenges!
It's so refreshing sometimes to just yeet all the mods, all the plugins, going back to pure photomode and.. capture the moment, y'know? No way to change the weather, characters looking at you randomly... 😌 snapping a genuine soft smile or a concerned side eyes!
Every now and then, when I start to get some Art block/Burnout (because it CAN happen for VP too!) I go back to enjoying the pure game, replaying some of my favorite parts, getting immersed and falling in love all over again
Struggling with inspiration, your reshade preset not looking good/missing something, nothing satisfying you anymore? Go back to the roots! disable everything, stare at your un-modded muse/blorbo! I really recommend it 🤲

The Immersive World of Open World Exploration in Video Games
In the world of video games, open world exploration has emerged as a captivating and enduring trope, offering players a chance to escape into expansive, immersive, and sometimes awe-inspiring virtual realms. This narrative device has significantly enriched the gaming experience by providing a sense of freedom, discovery, and engagement that extends far beyond traditional linear storytelling.
Open world exploration games are characterized by their vast and interconnected environments, often featuring lush landscapes, bustling cities, and uncharted territories. The appeal of these games lies in their ability to grant players the freedom to venture off the beaten path, chart their own course, and craft their unique narratives within the game's framework.
One of the fundamental benefits of open world exploration is the opportunity for players to experience a heightened sense of agency. Unlike linear games that funnel players down predetermined storylines, open world titles empower gamers to make choices, take risks, and influence the game world. This sense of agency can manifest in various ways, from deciding which quests to pursue to shaping the development of in-game characters.
Moreover, open world exploration encourages curiosity and a desire for discovery. Players are incentivized to explore every nook and cranny of the virtual world, uncovering hidden treasures, uncovering lore-rich backstories, and encountering dynamic events that can shape the course of their adventures. This aspect of the trope taps into the very essence of human curiosity and our innate desire to explore the unknown.
The storytelling potential of open world exploration is also a defining feature. These games often employ environmental storytelling, where the game world itself becomes a narrative device. A dilapidated building can tell a story of a forgotten era, while ancient ruins might hint at a long-lost civilization. Players become detectives, piecing together the overarching narrative through the clues scattered across the landscape.
In recent years, open world exploration has thrived thanks to technological advancements that have made these expansive virtual realms even more immersive. Improved graphics, realistic physics, and dynamic weather systems create living, breathing worlds that draw players deeper into the experience. Furthermore, innovations in artificial intelligence have led to more realistic and responsive non-player characters (NPCs) and wildlife, enhancing the overall sense of immersion.
Notable examples of open world exploration games, such as "The Elder Scrolls" series, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," and "Red Dead Redemption 2," have demonstrated the genre's ability to captivate players and provide hundreds of hours of engaging gameplay. These games showcase the diverse ways in which open world exploration can be implemented, from epic fantasy adventures to Wild West escapades.
However, the success of open world exploration also poses challenges for game developers. Crafting vast, detailed worlds requires significant resources and meticulous design. Balancing player freedom with compelling storytelling can be a delicate task, and the risk of overwhelming players with too much choice is ever-present.
In conclusion, open world exploration has become a staple of modern gaming, offering players the chance to immerse themselves in vast, dynamic, and interactive virtual realms. Its ability to provide agency, foster curiosity, and deliver compelling narratives sets it apart as a trope that has reshaped the gaming landscape. As technology continues to evolve, it is likely that open world exploration will remain a beloved and enduring element of video game design, continually pushing the boundaries of what is possible in virtual storytelling.
