From "A World of Unicorns", in the chapter about Bog Unicorns "I could hear my cat, Pearl, making a racket, hissing and spitting like a kettle on the stove. Now she's never been one to be bothered about anything, not even dogs or foxes, so I had to go investigate. I got into the livingroom, and there I saw it... Plants hanging off it, dripping with moisture as though it had just come out of the water, with its slimy muzzle pressed against the glass door. I'd heard about them of course, Boggies my Nana used to call 'em. How they'll come out of their bogs if something's disturbed them, or if there's not enough food. People have lost their own pets to such a thing if not careful... I thank my stars that Pearl was inside, though from the noises she were making, it wouldn't surprise me if she was readying herself for a fight! Heck, she even swatted the door, making the Bog Unicorn pull its head back. I never heard of a Bog Unicorn breaking through glass doors mind, but all the same, I was mighty relieved when it decided to move on. Perhaps it didn't feel like dealing with glass doors, or perhaps it was actually intimidated by Pearl and her angry fit. I can't say. All I know is that Pearl didn't calm down for hours, and I ended up sitting awake with her for hours until dawn, and even then she and I both felt rattled throughout the rest of the day. Then I heard of the Larssons a few doors down. They've had a rabbit hutch in their backyard for years now, and they woke up to find it torn to shreds, and nothing left of the rabbits but few tufts of fluff. I thought it best to tell them about the Boggie and even had proof with showing the smudge on my glass door from the critter. Not that it helped matters. I remember Mr. Larsson just sighed and scratched his neck, saying how it explained the pieces of dead water plants there'd been around the place. 'Not much you can do against something like that. Even if it at times feels like a crueler part of Nature.' He told me. I find myself wondering, that if Pearl hadn't been there to guard me, if that Boggie might have been tempted to break through my glass door. My daddy used to say that no one's a picky eater if you're hungry enough. And you never know with something like a Bog Unicorn." - Sally Mason, West Virginia

it’s that time again, I’ve compiled a list of the fc’s that haven’t been used in more than a month (mine included). If you’ve decided to drop them or are not feeling anymore muse you know that is perfectly fine, just let the main know and let the other half of the pairing know! I love you all so much and I don’t do this list to put pressure on anyone, I do it just so you can physically see the names and make a decision but there is absolutely no pressure ! ♡
