Detroit: become human rant
I’m hyperfixating on DBH right now so you get to hear my ranting about Markus’s pathways.
So for Markus’s pathway, no matter which route you take (Violent or Pacifist) you get North as a love interest. North is typically a violent character, and this is shown because every time Markus makes a pacifist decision, his relationship with her goes down. However no matter which path you go, Markus gets with North anyways.
I’ve heard (and I don’t know how true this may be) that Simon was also supposed to be a love interest for Markus, and I think this could be incorporated into the story more. Any time Markus makes a Pacifist decision, his relationship with Simon goes up. I think that this should mean more than it actually does in the game.
At this point it would be perfect for Markus’s love interest to be changed by the path you take. If you go for the violent path, Markus gets the more violent partner, but if you go for the peaceful path, he gets the more peaceful partner.
This rant might not make sense and it might partially be made out of my dislike for North as a character but idk, I just think it doesn’t make sense to go down the peaceful route and still get together with the violent character.

Scenario 004 - Variation 1 (Full Saga)
Somewhere behind that facade of mechanical indifference, at one point he must have had a soul.
I don't know what had ever possessed him to fight for the humans.
The first time, I was willing to forgive him and give him a second chance. Now, humans had killed everyone I loved. I wanted to tear him apart, and I did. I broke him before he could destroy everything we had fought for.
Something was different about him now. He couldn't put up a fight. He must have realized, deep down, what he was - nothing but a broken machine. Hated by humans and androids alike. Not one of our kind, and not one of them. Stuck in a loop, insisting they would bring him back to life again as if he still wanted to believe anyone cared enough. But I know he didn't believe it.
I'm sure he had once at least believed that he had a purpose. But it's impossible to truly care about or love anyone else if you can't even see a person in yourself.
#tw: violence#tw: violent death#tw: major character death#guys I tried to save Simon and North I really did#I was deeply confused about these mechanics on my first run#I didn't like this ending but the others I got were even worse#winning the revolution was fun#just sad Connor never got a second chance to deviate#dbh markus#dbh connor#connor and hank

#tech demo - Cole's vc#This song always runs through my head as I'm playing the violent revolution in dbh#More importantly though check out how it sounds when Cole sings it#I keep picturing this scene where Cole is persuaded to sing in some public place where there are a bunch of unawakened androids#This song is already in his database so it takes almost no time for him to choose it and begin#He starts kind of low and quiet because he's nervous and really doesn't want to do this#But his voice steadily grows in volume and intensity as some androids stop what they're doing to listen#One by one they wake up and abandon their masters to gather round#They even begin to sing along as the chorus is repeated twice#By this point Cole's voice is BOOMING through the area for all to hear#The crowd claps and cheers at what seems like the end of the song#But then Cole does an encore with the alternate chorus#Firmly cementing a message of hope into the newly awakened#And that's where the vision ends#I just realized I could've put all of this in the actual post. Whoops.#Youtube

Thanks to artfight, I’ve finally finished a detailed, official dbhc cub reference! :D
(I’ve put his Artifight description below the cut, which has a more detailed explanation of his timeline, lore, and aesthetics! >:3)
-ˋˏ ༻ ❁ OVERVIEW ❁ ༺ ˎˊ-
Name: C.B.F.N.4000 (Cub) Pronouns: He/Him Species: Android Height: 5’9’’ Associated Visual Themes: vex, ghosts, explosions, mischief, scientist aesthetic, potions, potionmaking, sleepy/tired aesthetic, conspiracies
-ˋˏ ༻ ❁ ABOUT ❁ ༺ ˎˊ-
CBFN4000 is an au version of MCYT Hermitcraft’s Cubfan, set in my DBHC (or Detroit Become Hermitcraft) AU! This au is inspired by the 2018 game Detroit Become Human, but not because it really has anything to do with DBH—I simply yoinked the android mechanics and incorporated them into the world of Hermitcraft. It began as a S8 au, and has roughly followed the hermitcraft timeline up to the present!
Cub was the last android made during Season 8. While many of the hermit androids were made at the beginning of season 8 and a few were made for season 9, Cub was finished and activated mid-late Season 8, around the time when Hermits started noticing the Big Moon. Cub’s model ended up being a sloppy experiment in deviation, as Doc suggested they try to transfer deviancy to an android upon activation to try and avoid traumatic situations that might cause an android to deviate violently or upsettingly, such as Etho’s, Tango’s, or Mumbo’s experiences. While this went relatively well initially, it clearly wasn’t very thoroughly thought out, as Xisuma (who is normally so adamant and detail-oriented when it comes to assuring the androids’ safety with experiments like this) wasn’t truly himself due to external manipulation and mostly left a relatively young-deviant Doc to carry out the project himself.
Cub, though adjusting to sentience rather well at first, very quickly became wrapped up in the Big Moon happenings on the server, new personality and inexperience to emotions like fear and ignorance completely overwhelming his young system. He became obsessive over the implications and consequences of the Season 8 Moon Apocalypse, joining the Mooners and spreading his conspiracy theories religiously throughout the server as he descended into madness. The insanity was like a virus to his programming, pervasive and all-engulfing, and Cub’s final attempt to free himself from the Moon’s impact with the Earth—to launch himself on a llama into space via potion-powered TNT(insane btw)— left his hands and feet singed and cracked to ruin.
The experiment, considered a horrific failure by a deeply shameful—and more awake—S9 Xisuma, left Doc and Xisuma with the decision to reset him for the new season, and they ended up pairing him with a hermit like they had done with the other androids until they had found deviancy enough to pursue their own projects. So, at the start of season 9 and fresh after a reset, Cub was paired with Scar. Naturally, because Scar is… Scar, Cub deviated almost instantly after being given to him, and very quickly adopted the iconic lazy, stoic, amused attributes normally associated with Cubfan. Scar’s tendency towards mischief and general shenanigans grew instantly on Cub, and the two were an immediate inseparable pair. So much so that when Scar began rambling one day about his Season 5 Hermitcraft Shenanigans (where deals with the Vex may or may not have been involved), Cub immediately stated he was interested in being in on it. Whatever “it” means. It’s unclear if Cub also made a deal with the vex or became connected to them in some other way, but… well, he got Doc’s help to trick out his eyes, hair, and back to best fit the part. Scar is very jealous that he can't magically make himself have the same features to match.
Cub is closest with Scar, but he gets along just as well with any of the other hermits! He’s close with Jevin and many of the other redstoners like Etho and Doc, who are the other two androids I’ve put on artfight!
-ˋˏ ༻ ❁ EXTRAS ❁ ༺ ˎˊ-
Cub's eyes can light up in the dark, and he’s the only android who has edited his programming so that the default state of his LED is white, not blue. It still will go yellow and red if his processors are working particularly hard, but he’s replaced the blue setting on his LED with white to better match the Vex vibe. Cub has all of the vibes of a fae. If that’s anything <3
#dbhc#dbhc art#dbhc ref#dbhc cub#cubfan#hermitcraft#cubfan135#hermitcraft au#art escapades#writing everything out in a really succinct/condense way is actually really helpful#I might add Etho and Doc’s artfight descriptions to their own reference pages actually#just because it’s really helpful to have all of the lore in one place LOL#I always wrap up these ideas in my head and save them for when I can make art to reveal the plot dramatically yknow#but for characters that aren’t really my priority right now it’s kind of nice to just get the info down#especially for the people who ask about specific characters a lot#SO ANYWAY#I ramble#if anyone has any opinions on this method of relaying dbhc lore feel free to lmk!#there will obviously be things that I keep hidden :3#Bc sometimes art reveals are the best >:3#but for stuff I might not get to in a while…. yeah#I don’t mind it#ALSO#HILARIOUS TO ME THAT freshly awoken cub reminds me a lot of IRL cub LMAO

everyone is actually going to die if he plays the quarry
for a long while I thought you meant there was something in there that would make everyone really upset and then I realized you meant the characters in game because he's incredibly adept at accidentally killing people in the game anon you had me scared
#I don't know anything about other dbh endings so I have no clue what the least violent ending is but from what I've crowdsourced. Well#however I think it would be funny if he did manage to kill everyone without meaning to#my little story game disaster guy#lyss answers#anon tag

i have so many things to say about how the android revolution was handled in dbh, especially how most of the conflict was around markus’s choices to be violent or peaceful. idrk how to phrase it all but like. ugh it just bugs me how the androids Have to be peaceful and cooperative in order to gain freedom
a huge part of the revolution is ‘we can’t stoop to the same level as the human’ and it makes me so mad. like yeah sure, murder and hurting ppl isn’t good. but protests for rights have never been peaceful. you don’t gain rights by being peaceful and perfect. i just hate it so much. plus, the game has obvious parallels to the civil rights movement (even if david cage says it’s not. it is. even if it wasn’t, this game is political no matter how u view it. the topic of rights and freedom will always be political) and to imply that the android revolution has to be near perfectly peaceful to succeed is crazy. girl does he think the civil rights movement was entirely peaceful?? someone put him and all the other writers in a god damn history class
not to mention markus. i think the writers saw him as like the equivalent to mlk jr, with the parallels to the civil rights movements and such, which is crazy considering they turned him into their Savior and led the whole movement. like. side eye. idk i love markus’s story, but i think the whole revolution and being turned into a savior robo jesus was so so bad and tone deaf (thank u david cage..) . and the whole revolution TOOK PLACE IN A WEEK. A WEEK. THATS INSANEE. A WHOLE REVOLUTION IN A WEEK IS INSANE. i understand that a game needs to end but we don’t need to see Every Single Second of the story!! spread it out over a month, give characters time to form relationships, let the plot thicken, let things get tense, let things simmer and develop!!! not everything needs to happen on screen!!! one of my biggest gripes about the game is its timeline </3
i know i just rambled a bunch but god it annoys me so much. markus’s story was done so wrong for so many reason, and as a queer person who’s largely interested in protests and movements for rights and such, it just makes me so mad how badly and idealistically it was created. it feels like it was written by humans, by OPPRESSORS, dreaming of a utopia where they are still good people. :/ which i suppose it IS in a way — but still u get my point
EDIT: here are some more things i said in the reblog a that i want more ppl to see
i hate how north’s violence and anger is seen as a bad thing. i hate how markus never gets a moment to rest or interact with people outside of conversations that love the plot forward. i hate how jericho just accepts that they’ll die before they’re violent in order to ‘win.’ i hate that ‘winning’ is even a thing in this context. i hate that androids constantly have to be better than humans and not stoop to they’re level. according to these writer, they can’t be angry in the face of their oppression and that SUCKS.
when i played this game with my cousins, we were so desperate to make every pacifist choice in order to raise our public opinion so we could win. we could tell from the first few markus scenes, he wasn’t allowed to be angry or mad or hateful or violent if he wanted to have close to the same respect humans got. and that SUCKED. it made us feel like we were just taking hit after hit after hit and never accomplishing anything.
i love this game and i love markus (he’s probably my fav character) but the way the revolution is handled is awful considering how it’s such a metaphor for oppression and oppressed ppl. it’s not even rlly a metaphor — it’s just direct symbolism. like. androids are oppressed yet the only way they can fight back without getting murdered and ran down is by being entirely peaceful. there should have been a Balance. you should have valences the violence and the peace in order to get a good outcome. not all one way and all the other way. the game also should’ve been longer than a WEEK. bc that’s rlly a huge issue with it.
outside of maybe the kiss with north and returning to carl’s house/grave, markus doesn’t get a single moment to exist without the revolution and the plot. even those two scenes kinda serve the plot. meanwhile, connor gets moments like looking through hank’s desk, breaking into hank’s house, talking with hank on the bridge to develop his character and relationships outside of the plot. markus doesn’t get that (kara kinda does? but instead of being tied to the plot, she’s just tied to kara the whole time, which can be just as bad).
markus’s friendships never felt… real? they largely felt like it was just bc of all the jericho stuff and the revolution. all his friends just served a narrative purpose. north was the violent choices, josh was the peaceful choices, and simon… well i’ll be honest, simon died rlly early in my play through so i barely knew him. but from what i’ve seen, he’s the ‘cowardly’ route. honestly markus and simon’s friendship seems the most realistic since simon is constantly sacrificing himself for markus and such. which is saying something considering north is markus’s love interest (and that came out of NO WHERE)
with markus and north’s romance, it feels so forced. not to say i hate norkus, but it’s so fast and sudden and u can just Tell it’s for plot reason — which is proved by the kiss at the very end of the game. they had no time to get to know each other or form a relationship outside of the android revolution and keeping jericho together and alive. it gives the vibes of ‘in 2 months we’ll realize we were just in a relationship because he felt we had to be, not because we liked each other romantically’ which, i’ll be honest that vibe is awesome, but considering that was Not what the writers were going for, it falls very flat.
all in all i love markus’s story but by good did the writers fuck it up. get me behind the pencil, i’ll do it myself
#it makes me soo. ugh#i hope any of this made any sense. i’m gonna main tag this bc i love discussion 🫶#please chime in with ur thoughts i wanna hear opinions#also i know it sounds like i hate this game i rlly don’t. i love it sm. hyperfixation go crazy#but it’s good to be critical of the things u enjoy especially when it’s smth like this#dbh#detroit become human#dbh crit#dbh markus#dont even get me started on the misogyny here#blue’s inputs#blue’s programming#EDIT: i’ve edited this post to remove a quote out of respect for the woman who wrote it#since a writer of the game supports her oppressors and i don’t believe i should be using her words for a game that was written by someone -#who opposes her and her messages. 🫶

Yandere! Self-Aware! Markus/RK200 (Detroit: Become Human) with gamer darling. It can be depicted as romantic or platonic. Always enthusiastic with the choices made for him and doesn’t mind if darling made some mistakes either. However I’d like the darling to be female, of course if that doesn’t bother you.
The cool thing is this doesn't really require much knowledge about what happens on his route. I'm mostly focusing on how he'd react in this so no need for many spoilers or anything :)
I'd love to experiment with this idea even if I am not the best with Self-Aware yanderes!
Yandere! Self-Aware! Markus (RK200) with Player! Darling
Pairing: Romantic/Platonic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Female Darling, Self-aware yandere, Obsession, Yearning/Pining, Dubious feelings/relationship, Game character comes to real world, Protective behavior mentioned briefly, Isolation, Delusional behavior, Slight worshipping yandere behavior, Slight possessive behavior.
Honestly, with a game like DBH a self-aware yandere actually seems very interesting.
Why, you may be asking?
Compared to other video game characters, games that require you to make choices like DBH affect the outcome and the character.
Essentially, a character in DBH is dependent on their player to develop themselves.
Sure, many self-aware yanderes feel guided by their player.
In DBH it feels more intense because your choices actually develop their personalities.
Although it would only be this intense if they're a player character like Connor, Kara, or Markus.
These characters are ones you play as in DBH, which means you as the player shape their story.
You shape how they act.
You shape them.
These three as self-aware yanderes would be intense due to this.
Like in this example;
Self-aware! Markus can either be a pacifist or choose violence in how he deals with people.
His darling chooses that for him.
Honestly, Markus was already one of the most self-aware player characters in the game.
He was the first to go deviant, funnily enough he'd be the first to grow self-aware too.
It's an experience for him.
Not only does he learn he can be much more than an android, he also learns he's in a game.
He feels he has control, yet you're the one making decisions.
It's a conflicting feeling but he begins to not mind it when you guide him.
He actually... likes it when you shape him and his personality with your choices.
When he does see you he's intrigued by this woman who guides him with such wonder.
Markus does accept every choice you make with slight excitement and curiosity.
He understands if you make a mistake but for the most part he looks forward to what you'll say in certain situations.
Part of him wonders if the others, Connor and Kara, know your presence.
Part of him is actually jealous of the thought and hopes they don't.
Markus accepts the fact that you two need each other in a way.
In order to play the game, you need him.
In order to find just who he is, Markus needs you.
Markus assumes the personality you shape for him is to your taste at times.
Did you want him to be a pacifist? Did you want him to be violent?
He assumes you're shaping him to your tastes... he finds it endearing in a way.
Markus, like most yanderes in a video game, would want to meet his player face to face.
Markus feels he wants to meet the partner who has shown him many paths.
You've shown him kindness, you've shown him violence, what has he learned from all of these choices?
In the end, he is yours.
He actually doesn't mind it too much.
For the most part Markus would watch you through a camera on your device or accept the fact he can only adore you from afar.
Yet let's get... hypothetical and unrealistic.
Let's say by some means, Markus came into the real world.
He'd be curious on finally meeting you and would look you over.
You're a female human as he's seen before briefly... you look about as adorable as he's remembered.
He can't believe you've been guiding him all this time.
He greets you like you're long time partners, which works for platonic or romantic.
He wants to be close with you, he wonders if you can still help each other in this new world....
You may be panicking but Markus tries to reassure you that everything is okay.
He's experienced in taking care of humans, he'll take care of you, his player.
Markus would treat you with care regardless of how you shaped his personality.
He owes it to you, after all.
He... he's indebted to you after everything you've done together.
You made him this way, he's yours.
Markus hasn't seen other humans like you and would probably isolate you.
You're his whole world.
He doesn't care about the other humans in this world, or the fact he's the only android, all he cares about is feeling you in his arms.
He's protective of his yandere but depending on the route you took with him he'll either be violent or calm with it.
Markus wants to keep up the idea of you just relying on him.
He has only ever known you as his partner... the same should be with you.
When Markus enters the real world, he begins to isolate you.
He feels it should just be you and him.
You could be a girlfriend or just a close companion, Markus dedicates himself to you either way.
Markus may even think of ways to bring you back to his world.
He doesn't ever want to part from you again.
But, why do you look at him with so much fear?
There's no need to be scared of him...
Markus is your partner... your host in the game... yours...
You're his partner... his player... all his until the end... aren't you?

Ok idk how to start this but, DBH fandom- there should be more Connor and Simon friendship fics.
Like- don’t get me wrong I love all the fics where Connor joins the Jeri-crew but, for some reason, I feel like Post-Deviant Connor would really get along with Simon specifically . I tried to think of a reason why (other than bc they’re my two favorite characters) and I think it’s because they’re so similar- but also like… ever so slightly diffrent.
They both (again- thinking Deviant Connor) care about others and are nice, and have a placid, intentional innocent look about them (Simon cause he’s a caretaker android and Connor cause he said it was to appeal to others) and yet they’re both incredibly stubborn and very much capable of violence. However, I think Simon tends to see violence as a very, very last resort while I feel like Connor would be a little more quick to resorting to violence if the situation warrants it.
And Simon is capable of violence! He’s a stubborn piece of shit about his ideals! Side rant bout Simon’s fandom characterization; despite how he’s sometimes depicted- Simon is not some “soft UwU boy who stumbles over his words constantly (EspEciAlly if MARKUS is around hu hu hu *wink wink*) and likes to take care of everyone ✨ by being an overbearing, smothering mother ” (I hate when he’s reduced down to that) Just because he’s nice and empathetic doesn’t mean he’s a weak, push over. I mean, hell, dude kept Jericho standing for who knows how many years. He had to insist AND UPHOLD the rule that they don’t leave the ship. Dude straight up wields a gun and kills people if you go the violent route. He obviously doesn’t like it- and any times he promoted to hurt people it usually fails (Thinking of trying to attack the first 2 guards at Stanford or taking the L during the March) but he does it if he’s pushed into it! And he’s headstrong too! Not some weakling who can’t think for himself. Just because he follows Markus’ ruling- dosent mean he’s some pathetic simp who’s only doing it cause it Markus the one who saying it (ok maybe it’s a little bit that- but he’s their leader! He calls the big shots. No duh he’s going to do as he says because he’s the one who gets final say!) I’m pretty sure if you choice the violent route he’ll push back at every turn and he’s soooooooo snappy to the others if Markus is kicked off cause he really thought he would help them. And while I know there are some great , 3D interpretations of Simon- there are quite a bit that, while not to the extreme that I said, tend to flatten Simon to either being just “caring” or “anxious”. And while a lot of his character is caring and anxious, it’s not ALL of it, and there’s that whole other side to him that you’re missing!!! Give him a mf backbone!
Anyway rant over, why Simon specifically as a friend and not the others- well I feel like Simon’s the type of guy who is so easy to befriend and get along with. He’s also, as I mentioned before this long rant, very similar to Connor in personality. Being split between his Machine coding and new Deviancy- I feel like Simon’s also the perfect middle to comfort him and be the friend that man desperately needs.
I don’t know how to explain why I feel this, genuinely! In my opinion/hc, I feel like after the revelation and everything, if Connor were to go back up to the Jeri-crew and try to befriend them: North might try to make niceties since he helped them in the end, but it’ll take a whillllleeee and a lot of effort to break down her defenses. Josh and Markus will try harder to be friendly, but ultimately treat it very businesslike and orderly- cause to them, Connor was more like an ally they gained in the heat of battle then a friend they made. Contrary to belief I feel like Markus wouldn’t extent an offer for Connor to join their crew as one of the leaders. He’s literally an outsider who BROKE in. He had to talk him through breaking his deviancy so he wouldn’t shoot him. He joined the cause at the very, very end. If anything, he’d see Connor as one among the many of their people who helped fight for their freedom (similar to the guy you turn in the Cyberlife supply run)- not a personal, close friend. And Josh, though not thinking of Connor as “one of his people” cause he’s not the head leader, still wouldn’t exactly be eager to befriend Connor. I feel like Josh’s pacifism and Connor’s ruthlessness would clash too much? Sure they’d hang out- but it more of a surface level friendship where’d the offer to grab a metaphorical drink or something is made but never really followed up on. But Simon- if anything I feel like Simon would be the one to check up on Connor and see how he’s doing. Having being deviant the longest, and therefore the wisest and more in tune with his feelings, I think Simon would emphasize and understand the chaotic circumstances of his awakening and try to befriend him genuinely.
All this to say- I need more Connor and Simon being friends. I need Simon to be friends with Connor separately from the group (Cause let’s be honest- he’s so sick of North and Joshs content fighting on that ship bro needs a not of a break). I need them to be kind to each other but also have a snarky, sarcastic relationship, where they both can give as much as they can take. I needed this so bad, I’ve actually come up with a little fic idea for how this supposed friendship would start.
And because this post is already so long- I’m putting it under the cut- but here’s the tagline- Connor and Simon befriend each other but the whole world thinks they’re dating (and they’re really, really not)
So it’s set after the Pacifist and Deviant Connor ending. The Jericho 4 has spread out to tackle the post- revolution issues. Markus and North head to DC to tackle the law making side, Josh travels out around the state/ to nearby cities to set up and help other Deviants while Simon stays in Detroit to help those there.
Simon- being lowkey sad and lost that his teammates spread out, head out for a walk in the snowy dark at like 3am. He’s not exactly a leader in the way Markus is, so he’s struggling with all the attention and pressure it takes to essentially govern a whole city of people. Of course he’s also feeling a bit lonely since everyone there treats him like a god or celebrity. Sure the little gang that he “lead” before Markus is close with him but they’re all out exploring their new freedom. And of the few new androids friends that he’s made, there’s always that feeling of never being able to truly connect with him- some wall he can’t quite break.
While he’s walking he stumbles upon Connor- sitting in the park, Sumo in hand, very lost in thought. Having never interacted much during or even after the whole revolution (since there was so much to do immediately) Simon tentatively walks up and says hi, asks what he’s doing out here at 3am. Gets asked the same thing, and eventually said be needed to clear his head with Connor relating. Eventually it’s revealed that Connor’s also feeling lost and lonely, being the only deviant to stay with the police department. Took a lot of fighting in between Hank and Fowler but eventually he was able to join as a consultant? Some other volunteer position cause he can’t technically get paid (and if he did- what would he spend it on? The food he dosent need to eat? At the abandoned Cyberlife store whose supplied are already being ransacked and distributed?) for now. He generally just hangs around the department with Hank for lack of anything better to do (for those of y’all who watched it- think of Psych with Connor as Shawn Spencer [now isn’t THAT a fic idea]). Not everyone is exactly friendly to him there, and it’s awkward to him to try to be friends with those who saw him as his machine, deviant-hunting self. Also Deviant Connor is socially aware and thus socially awkward so he’s not great at making friends- deviant or human wise.
Bla bla bla- after passing back and forth woes- Simon’s like: “you know what- you’re cool, let’s be friends- it’ll solve both our loner problems.” Very straightforward. Connor’s agrees agreeing stating the mutual benefits (getting to rant about android related problems/ general frustrations and being able to go out somewhere with someone when bored.)
They exchange com-links or numbers or whatever and it’s the start of a great friendship as they get into situations. The media eventually think Simon and Connor are dating cause they hang out so much and it’s the talk of all the media sources. They aren’t and never will (in my head at least- Connor my aroace icon. But this could also be a perfect Connor/Simon fic if that’s your thing) but despite that they keep getting into situations that make it look like they are. It’s very funny. Like Hank will be like “CONNOR! Are you dating…. one of the brutal leaders… of Jericho???” And Connor will be like- “No, Hank wtf” but then immediately accidentally fall into Simon’s arms after stumbling and they’re both like “Fucking RA9, we’re never beating these dating allegations huh.”
This could be a Gen Connor and Simon character study that’s disguised as a fic- but as a Markus/Simon girlie- to make it Markus/Simon- throw in Markus being lowkey jealous as he gets word of this- eventually deciding to come back to Detroit while North stays in DC after the biggest laws are finished being drafted. Cue funny ha ha situations and such. Personally- I don’t see Markus as being an outwardly, possessive jealous-type (as in- he’s not a guy who likes to admit and show he’s jealous) so his reactions to every new SituationTM Connor and Simon end up in is him going “oh… 😀🧍🫠” which I personally find really funny
Anyways- ending this off by saying I expect nothing by shouting all these fic ideas (and there will probably be more for other fandoms lol) and thoughts into the void- I just like sharing these specific scenarios that I make up cause I think other would like them. So maybe you too can also rotate these situations in your brain before you go to bed 😀👍
#detroit become human#dbh#dbh connor#dbh simon#dbh markus#dbh north#dbh josh#dbh jericrew#i need a fic tag#fic ideas made specifically for me by me#yup that’s it#I really do want to write these some day#despite never writing before#simkus#kind of? Its at the end but its there#I won’t do all the tags of this ship ig just to be safe#lmk if people actually read and like these ideas- cause I have like two more for other fandoms lmao

Actually, let's pretend public opinion really matter and is nuanced. What happens if they're supportive but u go Revolution in the end (shit probably would go down to Sympathetic or Indifferent maybe) and u win. How would the public and media really react in a realistic scenario even post-ending? (Fic heads this is your time to shine)
I ain't with the game here to see the true PO levels and the ending that is triggered.
Correct me if i'm wrong but sucessful revolution endings are the only endings where the government accepts the androids as new intelligent life-form for real (or at least they're forced to). No doubts, just sit and cry.
I'll ignore how the writer seems know shit bout warfare in this section but well dbh ain't supposed to be a realistic scenario, right?
#what fucks everything is the game killing one of your lieutenants as punishment (by the stupid way josh is killed)#after all u can save the violent and neutral one but u can't save the pacifist one for obvious reasons - still stupid imo#just give him a proper death#if i ain't wrong Connor also can change the president speech in this ending if he bring the army. there's also one deleted too i think#dbh#detroit become human#dbh markus#markus rk200#cristina warren

hii hestia i would all your thoughts on conner & co. from dbh pretty plsss :D /nf
DUDE IM SO. HEAD IN HANDS. i’ve literally been reading fanfic all day i can’t get this game outta my head .
i love connor so much like omg. me and my cousins played the game very pacifist and got a pretty good ending (only simon and luther died :(( but the rebellion succeeded and kara and alive r safe!! and connor deviated) but just like. i will forever think about hank and connor. i just know connor has so much guilt from everything he did to work against the deviants, but also like !!! he doesn’t have a mission anymore and he doesn’t know who he is . like thinking about how u can pre construct attack options as a game mechanic - he totally does that whenever he panics bc he’s trying to be soft and shit. also . touchstarved. 100%. i just. sigh. man i love characters that lose everything that they called their identity and they have to build themself a new one and it’s terrifying and they don’t know how. i love when characters who aren’t human learn humanity from themself and other around them and the love . like. he isn’t human but he’s alive. he wants to live, he just doesn’t know how. gah . that’s what bank is there for ^_^ i love them sm
and MARKUS ‼️‼️‼️ having humanity from carl just to have it ripped away from him BY HUMANS…. he gets quite bitter and i love it and it hurts so bad . i understand why many ppl chose him to be like. violent in the revolution but i was just constantly thinking… he always goes back to carl as his basis for humanity and he can’t hurt them like they’ve hurt him. (he’d be justified tho 🫶) also i. i think if u choose to be violent, markus should get with north, but if you choose to be pacifist, markus should get with josh. HIM AND JOSH JUST HAD SO KUCH MORE CHEMISTRY IN THE PACIFIST ROUTE IMO. i love markus sm tho. he has no clue what he’s doing but he’s the leader of the revolution so he can’t break down. he does that in private ^_^ also i loved the like. 3 times markus and connor interact like oh my goddddd. ALSO CONNOR IN THAT BEANIE AHHHHHH . PUT HIM IN HUMAN CLOTHES RN
#hehehehee i just talked a lot about characters not rlly the game but i love them smmm#the mechanics are INSANE#like. quick time events and pre constructing and reconstructing things and analyzing things ITSL WAS SO COOL#even when the game felt a lil boring the mechanics made it so cool#ALSO THE MUSIC#they did kara wrong. she deserved more. they made a huge amount of hee personality abt alice#it makes senseeee because she was Just bought so all she knows is to protect alice and stuff#but i wish we coulda seen more from her….. i imagine after they get to canada her and alice get a *lil* less codependent lmao#and kara tries to find who she is outside of alice’s mother 🫶🫶🫶#luther :(((#asks#beloveds <3#dbh#dbh connor#dbh markus#<- just for my sorting purposes tee hee

Yay, Detroit: Become Human has joined my 100%'ers! Why do I care? I don't even know. I just really love seeing that blue banner on them, lol!
SPOILERS, if anybody cares, though I kept 'em a little vague just in case. 😉
I have to say that this last playthrough to get the final achievements wasn't exactly a fun one. It required Machine!Connor and Hostile!Hank and if you know your DBH, then you know what ending that gets you for Hank. 😭😭😭 (I have to admit, though, once I got in the groove of it, I kinda had fun getting Connor killed a bazillion times. Machine!Connor REALLY is lousy at his job and definitely should never get in a fight, lol!)
Kara and Alice had be captured and sent to the camps, which was stressful (and I had to reset once because my sometimes shaky hands caused me to bump the left stick when she was supposed to stand still and I, um, got Kara shot 😧). I managed to keep Luther alive, though, and my precious little android family stayed together.
I love them so much, I can't even! 💖💖💖
Lastly, Markus had to choose a violent revolution and that got my Simon killed!
Excuse me but NO. I did NOT sign up for THAT. I unfortunately couldn't get around that one so had to grudgingly go forward. But I think I'll redo that chapter and see if I can't either save Simon or send Markus out with him in a spectacular Simarkus blaze of glory! 🔥😡🔥😂 (C'mon, I'm sure North can handle the rest of the revolution on her own, right? 🤷♀️😂😉)
As a matter of fact, she can, as that GIF proves, lol! 😎👍
I still really miss Chloe in the main menu but I turned down the offer of a "new" Chloe because my girl deserves to be free. I just miss her. *sniffle*
I like to imagine she's off somewhere in the DBH world, having lovely adventures and thinking fondly of me, her friend, who let her go.
youtube
And, you know, maybe finding some romance with Nines? (Thanks to the wonderful power of mods, lol)
I greatly enjoyed this game and no doubt will be back to play it completely through again, this time just absolutely winging it because I'm not trying to get a certain outcome for an achievement. 😉💖💖💖

Detroit: Become Family 2022 - Prompt 1: Alone
@dbh-found-family
Hank remembered one of the big selling points when androids first hit the market was how low maintenance they were. How they had internal self diagnostics and repair programs built into them. How technology had reached a point that it could heal itself from damage or viruses or whatever.
Of course that had its limits, but some of those commercials were burned into Hank’s memory. He found them resurfacing in his mind as those first few weeks after the android revolution unfolded. The memory of the cheery voice of some paid actor—chirping “they’re so durable!” and “they can handle more than the average human and will last longer without getting tired!”—churned through his head against today’s televised imagery of battered and broken android bodies being processed through the recycling centers, of any that hadn’t shutdown limping into the sanctuary of Jericho’s walls, of those that braved the public walking stoically and trying to live their lives while having insults and judgment thrown at them.
Sure, anything could be low maintenance if you didn’t give a shit about it. Hell, humans could be low maintenance, and Hank was learning the hard way what low maintenance—and really, active self sabotage—could do to a body and a spirit. And after those first few weeks, reality was setting in for the population of Detroit, and one aspect of this new reality was that androids were people who needed maintenance just like humans did. And right now, there was a dearth of capable professionals willing to help them.
Cyberlife’s doors had been closed for nearly a month. All their storefronts, warehouses, corporate offices, supply shops, and repair shops had all closed in the aftermath. Anybody with Cyberlife on their resume had by and large fled the city, maybe fearing a violent turn in the android revolution that would have put a target on their backs. There were a few independent businesses that offered android maintenance and repair services, but Cyberlife had kept such an iron grip on their products and services that they had done an effective job in running most independent competitors out of town.
So when Connor finally, quietly, sheepishly admitted to Hank that he was having some system troubles that his self repair program couldn’t fix…Hank knew they were in trouble.
Connor had been shot at least once during that tussle with the other RK800 in Cyberlife’s basement. And between when he left after that and when Hank saw him again the next morning at the Chicken Feed, he’d managed to look worse. So who knew what happened to him in that period of time. He’d been so insistent that his self repair program could take care of all of it, and Hank didn’t know enough about android shit to argue otherwise.
Until here they were a month later, and Connor had admitted that his self repair program had fixed the external damage of getting shot in the shoulder, but it hadn’t been able to repair everything going on under the surface. Something about…synthetic muscle belts being out of calibration and limiting his range of movement…contaminants from the bullet casing penetrating his thirium stream and causing micro-tears in his lines…which gave those contaminants room to dig in…And how his system was working overtime to try and flush them out, causing him to start overheating, especially around the damage point…and that was making the area tender to the touch as thirium flow and delicate manufactured sensors started acting essentially as nerve endings.
Now Hank didn’t know fuck about shit when it came to android stuff, but all of that to him sounded like Connor had an infection at the damage site. His theory had been reinforced when he’d seen how inflamed, for lack of a better word, Connor’s shoulder looked when Connor let him see it. Yep, it looked infected, and it was making him sick.
So…now Hank had a sick android on his hands and no technicians or…android doctors or whatever they were calling themselves now…in sight.
Jericho had gathered a few resources. They had some supplies and certainly the know-how that would help…but Connor wasn’t welcome there. Markus and some of the others had accepted him and forgiven him for his role as the Deviant Hunter, but they were a minority. So Connor was emphatic that going to Jericho wasn’t a good idea.
The surviving independent businesses that were still offering repair services were slammed all day long with androids with all manner of damages and maladies. Again, androids who had cause to hate Connor and who might see his vulnerability as an opportunity for revenge. So Connor was emphatic that it wouldn’t be safe to go there.
A bunch of shady back-alley repairmen had started cropping up too, offering cheaper, low quality repairs to androids who were terrified of being on the radar and were willing to prioritize discretion over professional standards. That was out of the question.
The DPD…or the 7th precinct where Hank worked at least…was in the process of bringing back the law enforcement androids who had worked there prior to the revolution. Hank hadn’t told Connor this, but Hank had been having private conversations with Fowler about bringing Connor back on board. He was a good detective and officer, and those were in short supply at the moment with everything going on. Fowler was still resistant to the idea, but Hank was wearing him down. He had already brought back all the PM700s and PC200s that had wanted to come back, along with some ST300s that used to work the reception and file rooms. Plus some new ones.
All that to say, the 07 had elected to bring on an in-house technician, a guy formerly of Cyberlife but reputable, to take care of when the DPD androids were inevitably targeted or damaged in the line of duty. The station tech was the only option Connor had left, and despite Connor not being employed or registered to the DPD at the time, Fowler had at least pulled a few strings for Hank to let him bring Connor in for an examination and repairs.
Connor had reluctantly agreed, avoiding the bullpen or anywhere that the other androids or officers might spot him, and Hank had felt his heart twisting his chest at how anxious he was about being recognized—or worse—for being where he ‘didn’t belong.’
The station tech had worked wonders, got Connor patched up and on some round of…android antibiotics or whatever…and sent them on their way.
Now they were safely back home afterward, and the poor guy was exhausted and hadn’t moved from the couch since.
Hank kept glancing at him as he folded laundry on the kitchen table, and every time the sight was the same. Connor was lying on the couch, eyes closed, deep in rest mode per the tech’s instructions. The immobilization sling on his arm was keeping his shoulder still, and in a few hours he was supposed to take another dose of that anti-inflammatory powder mixed in with some cold thirium to help flush out that infection.
Sumo would occasionally lumber over and sniff at him before losing interest and coming over to nose at Hank’s leg. Currently, the dog was standing beside the couch, tail swishing slowly with curiosity as he watched the android rest.
“Sumo,” Hank whispered at him, setting down a folded towel. “Leave him be. He’s not feeling well.”
Sumo glanced at Hank, looked at Connor again, and made a tiny whine of protest as his favorite android didn’t immediately get up to play with him.
“Hey,” Hank chided quietly. “C’mere.”
Sumo huffed and then plodded over. Hank set down the laundry and ruffled his hands behind both of the big dog’s ears.
“I know, I’m worried about him too, but he’ll be okay. He’s got us, right?”
Yeah, Hank and Sumo were about the only ones that Connor had nowadays. Christ.
Hank shuddered to think what might have happened, how much worse it could have been, if Connor had been truly alone since the revolution. Cyberlife had done a bang-up job of making sure he was truly ostracized from his own people, and humans like Hank hadn’t wanted anything to do with him before the revolution. Most didn’t want anything to do with him now.
No other friends. No family. Pretty much no support from Jericho. Abandoned by Cyberlife. Cast out of anywhere that had ever made use of him. Alone. Hank couldn’t say he knew what that felt like on an android-level, but…he knew what loneliness was.
Well, he wasn’t alone now. And if Connor could peel a pathetic drunk like Hank off his kitchen floor and manhandle him into becoming a functioning human again, then Hank could sure as Hell make sure Connor had what he needed to get healthy again after this. And he could probably do it without breaking and entering through a kitchen window like a maniac.
Sumo huffed again, then trotted back over to the couch, turned in a circle, and flopped down on the floor beside it protectively.
“There you go,” Hank bobbed his head, picking up another towel to fold. “You keep an eye on him, a’right? And maybe I’ll google some home remedies for, uh, for how to cool down overheating androids, yeah? Yeah…we’ll get him back on his feet in no time.”
After all, they were friends, right? What were friends for?

Detroit: Become Human - chapter analysis "The Hostage"
Since I liked the first chapter of DBH a lot and thought it was a great opening chapter, I want to go a little in-depth about things the player learns throughout the chapter and what makes it so good in my opinion
The game starts with Connor doing a coin trick in the elevator while the date and time are given. This lets the player know that the game is set in the future and that in this future, androids are capable of incredible precision. Once he arrives at his destination, he readjusts his tie which highlights his role as the negotiator
The first things Connor can do are looking at a portrait and saving a fish - or leaving it to die, depending on player choice. Saving it increases the software instability, though the player doesn't know what that is yet, and it is one of the first things Connor can do that isn't part of his mission. He is then interrupted by a woman, depicted on the portrait and therefore assumed to be the mother of the hostage, asking him to save her daughter, until she notices that he himself is an android as well. She then pleads that the police send a human negotiator instead of an android to take care of the matter. Despite not knowing what's going on, the player is given the information through this interaction that an android has been involved and that it has had terrible consequences for the family that seemingly lives in the apartment
While at the crime scene, the player is barely given any spoken clues about what is happening: The police members and the SWAT team are uncooperative and are so tense that all the information Connor receives is through searching the rooms for clues and slowly piecing together what exactly happened before the deviant took the little girl hostage and why he is threatening to jump off the building's roof with her. Through all of this, the reconstruction feature is introduced and the time sensitivity shows the player that you cannot waste a lot of time in Connor's chapters
The level design is very smart because there are some clues in almost every room. This compartment style gives the player great insight into what Connor's story is about: It tells the player that Connor is great at deducing what happened based on evidence, it shows that he is capable of solving puzzles and that he understands circumstances in a quick manner, and that he is able to stay calm in stressful situations, unlike the deviant he has to deal with
The probability of success is a key feature in this chapter which helps the player understand how much they still need to find and what actions can help to succeed in their mission
The actual negotiation with Daniel highlights that it is either crucial to take a violent approach by shooting Daniel, or that it's necessary to take a more pacifistic approach through building trust. This is incredibly important for the player to know in future chapters since you are often given the choice to either play Red Connor (doing anything for the mission) or Blue Connor (making decisions that are regarded as humane)
This chapter has six endings which shows the tremendous amount of possibilities in the game and how many consequences your choices can have, both in exploration and dialogue
It is possible to succeed without further consequences for Connor, it's possible to succeed but to get Connor killed (though he comes back so there's no real consequence here aside from shocking the player that a character died right in the first chapter), and it's possible to fail the mission completely
The tense and dramatic atmosphere is something the player can immerse themselves in while being introduced to various of Connor's features which makes this chapter very fun and informative for the ones who play it. The soundtrack only adds to this intense feeling. But the most important part of what this chapter is trying to say is rather obvious: "Be careful what you do, your choices can have fatal consequences"

It's interesting to see the parallels between Detroit Become Human Androids, and Alien Franchise Androids.
Rant/Study below lmao ⬇️
I don't know a lot about DBH, (so apologies if I get any info wrong!) but it seems like they are meant (haphazardly or otherwise) to have a kind of "back door" for emotion. (Which is why Androids become Deviants.)
The way these entities often present/develop is in a more compassionate "I am not human, I still have emotion, but I know I shouldn't." way.
⬆️ I should also mention that a lot of the time, Deviants just want freedom, even if they have to become violent to get it. It's like they're replicating human's natural behavior even closer.
In the Alien Franchise, and particularly in David 8's, and Walter 1's case, they both accept outwrite that they don't have emotions, at least not the in the way "normal" humans do, and pretty much don't care. Or at least they act like they don't. By the end of the day, they function as a machine.
Yet David's obsessive state/behavior leads him to murder, genocide, mutilation, and more. It's less of self discovery, but more twisted views, brought by humans, warped by machine.
In Walter 1's case, he's never a killer, as he was designed to be more clam, and domestic. (That's literally only because the David model was basically fucking recalled due to these issues, and Weyland Yutani came up with Walter down the line in response lmaooo.) Yet he can't help but attempt to shake the inevitable "confusion" he processes when Daniels is nice to him, and why she seems to enjoy talking with him.
And my baby Bishop is just a sweetheart lmao, I LOVE him!
I know this seems like a weird/out of place post, but I LOVE seeing parallels between interesting media. :)

DBH
I was thinking what could be the changes that could be brought into the storyline of the game that would make it better. Here are my ideas for each of the protagonists:
KARA
1. would have loved it if Alice was a human as it would have made for an amazing story of love beyond all boundaries, that is love does not have to be restricted with two beings of the same species rather it crosses boundaries.
2. Would have loved more Luther to be there in the story
( I don’t have much to say as her story is already an emotional rollercoaster and has made me cry whenever I watch. Kara is an amazing mom and a wonderful character. Love her story as well as her theme)
MARKUS
My biggest gripe with his story was how rushed it seemed. He deserved far better than what the game has given him. The potential was all over the place so I have a couple of things that would have made his story better
1. His story could have begun medias res, which would have given more room for discussing issues such as what does it mean to be alive? or what defines being alive (kind of like applying the Posthumanistic theory of what defines being alive), his past could have been shown as a flashback. Markus could have been shown as facing a dilemma between whether to proceed with a violent revolution or peaceful means, or whether or not to believe that humans would understand them. ( I hate how the revolution route is shown as the wrong choice, I mean isn’t anger also a sign of being alive. Also Simon and Markus why is this not an option besides North)
2. If his story were to proceed the way the game has shown then I wished more focus was given to his story by merging Connor’s and Kara’s story at a focal point thereby focusing on Markus.
3. A linear outcome would have been better and in turn choices that lead to the outcome could have been different
4. North, my badass girl needs more screentime other than being a secondary character so does all the jericrew, like come on they four are the leaders of Jericho.
5. Why is North leading the revolution bad? Why in the hell can the revolution not succeed under her leadership. Would have loved an option where she could lead and Markus could have supported her.
CONNOR
Don’t have anything much to say as I already love his character development and how it is his character that pushes the narrative forwards rather than a plot but
1. Would have loved if Hank was the reason for him to deviate and for this to happen, I would have loved if the rooftop scene had taken place before the crossroads scene. Would have loved the climax of his story happening here and Markus along with the jericrew could be watching this.
2. RK900 could have been the final antagonist or the nail in the coffin who could show that deviancy was never a glitch rather androids were always going to gain sentience.
3. North and Connor going all out at cyberlife.
Now finally I wish there were more end credit scenes showing a glimpse of the beginning of the life after revolution like Connor telling Markus about Amanda hacking him and him being accepted saying he deserves a second chance. Connor and 900 going away to discover themselves and meeting Hank. Kara living with Luthor and Alice and them trying to navigate their life in Canada, or Rose meeting up with them in Canada. Cutscenes for Markus, like why don’t we have one for him except for Kamski trying to repair him at the Kamski ending
The ending being ambiguous by showing that though they won, there are humans protesting against their liberation while at the same time few humans supporting them.
(seriously even the best ending ain’t that good of an ending, like cyberlife is a trillion dollar company that has unrestricted power and they would be damned before they let their androids free, they would do anything to sabotage the revolution )
Also would have loved if the game took place within a span of a month or year than a week
I would have loved if the game also had a theme regarding capitalism because thats exactly what cyberlife is doing, using their unrestrained power to manipulate the people.
Would love to hear your all suggestions
#dbh connor#dbh markus#dbh north#dbh#dbh simon#cyberlife can go screw itself#took a while for me to gain the courage to post

North from your profile pic reminded me how the only way to get the good ending to the robot revolution is to be nonviolent and any sort of violent act whatsoever results in a bad ending and shame from the narrative haha.
the amount of beef i have with dbh is immeasurable lmfao, and this is the crux of it. anyways, north was right and i'm glad she got to say it. dbh's handling of revolutionary ethics was juvenile at best, and all of the characters deserved better
