Staaken ist ein Berliner Ortsteil des fünften Verwaltungsbezirks Spandau. Im Nordosten angrenzend an das Falkenhagener Feld, im Osten liegt Klosterfelde zwischen Staaken und dem Kern des Bezirks Spandau. Im Westen und Süden bildet der Ortsteil die Berliner Stadtgrenze zum Land Brandenburg, im Nordwesten davon zur Stadt Falkensee, im Südwesten nach Dallgow-Döberitz und im Süden nach Seeburg. Historisches: Der Flugplatz Staaken war einst ein bedeutender Luftfahrt-Standort und eines der größten Filmstudios abseits von Hollywood. Gedreht wurden hier die Klassiker wie "Metropolis" und "Mata Hari". Im November1928 landete in Staaken das damals größte gebaute Luftschiff "Graf Zeppelin".Zu DDR-Zeiten war der Ortsteil von Berlin-Spandau geteilt, die Mauer zog sich quer durch den Bezirk, der Grenzkontrollpunkt befand sich auf der Heerstraße. Die Siedlung Neu-Jerusalem am westlichen Ende der Heerstraße ist eine Wohnanlage des Neuen Bauens aus den 1920er Jahren. Hier stehen 21 baugleiche kubische Doppelhäuser mit differenzierter Staffelung und ein Einzelhaus. Albrechtshof im Westen des Ortsteils wurde bekannt durch einen Lokführer, der seinen Zug nicht zum Stehen brachte und damit die Berliner Mauer durchbrach. Die Siemens-Siedlung wurde in den 1930er Jahren mit Hilfe der Siemensarbeiter erbaut, die drei Tage die Woche an ihrem Haus bauten und die restlichen Tage im Siemenswerk ihre Arbeit verrichteten. Die heutigen Bewohner haben sich gegen einen geplanten Denkmalschutz aufgelehnt, worauf die Pläne aufgegeben wurden. Die Gartenstadt Staaken entstand als modellhafte Anlage zur Erweiterung der Metropole Berlin. Kleinbürgerlich, familiär mit viel Grün ist sie eine denkmalgeschützte Wohnsiedlung, überwiegend aus zweistöckigen Reihenhäuser.

Nördliche Grenze ist die Heerstraße, im Osten ist es der aus Schutt entstandene Hahneberg. Zu DDR-Zeiten war dies Sperrgebiet und das dort befindliche Fort Hahneberg, ein Artilleriefort, erbaut 1882 – 1888 verfiel.
