Useful Tips for Becoming a Successful Agriculture Investor
Agriculture investment refers to the allocation of financial resources, capital, or assets into various aspects of the agricultural sector with the expectation of generating a return on investment (ROI). This could mean investing monies in agriculture land for sale such as coconut land for sale in Sri Lanka, or other types of investments. It involves deploying funds in activities and projects related to agriculture for the purpose of profit, income generation, or long-term wealth creation. Agriculture investment can take many forms, including:
Farmland Acquisition: Purchasing agricultural land for the cultivation of crops or the raising of livestock. This can involve both large-scale and small-scale farming operations.
Infrastructure Development: Investing in the construction and improvement of infrastructure such as irrigation systems, roads, storage facilities, and processing plants to enhance agricultural productivity and efficiency.
Technological Advancements: Funding the development and adoption of agricultural technologies, such as precision agriculture, automation, and biotechnology, to improve crop yields and reduce operational costs.
Agribusiness Ventures: Investing in agribusinesses, such as food processing, distribution, and marketing, that are part of the agricultural value chain.
Research and Development: Supporting research initiatives related to agriculture to develop new crop varieties, pest-resistant strains, and sustainable farming practices.
Input Supply: Investing in the production and distribution of agricultural inputs like seeds, fertilisers, pesticides, and machinery.
Commodity Trading: Speculating on the future prices of agricultural commodities, such as grains, oilseeds, and livestock, through commodity markets or futures contracts.
Sustainable Agriculture: Funding practices and projects aimed at sustainable and environmentally responsible farming methods, which can include organic farming, agroforestry, and conservation efforts.
Rural Development: Supporting initiatives that improve the overall economic and social well-being of rural communities, often through investments in education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Venture Capital and Start-ups: Investing in start-ups and companies focused on innovations in agriculture, such as vertical farming, aquaculture, or agricultural technology (AgTech).
Agriculture investment is important for food security, economic development, and job creation in many regions. However, it also comes with risks related to weather conditions, commodity price fluctuations, and market dynamics. Investors often conduct thorough research and risk assessments before committing their resources to agricultural ventures. Additionally, they may need to consider factors like government policies, environmental regulations, and social impacts on their investment decisions in the agricultural sector.
How to become a successful agriculture investor
Becoming a successful agriculture investor requires a combination of financial acumen, agricultural knowledge, and a strategic approach to investment. Here are some steps to help you become a successful agriculture investor:
Educate Yourself: Gain a strong understanding of the agricultural sector, including the different sub-sectors (crops, livestock, agribusiness, etc.). Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies.
Set Clear Investment Goals: Define your investment objectives, whether it is long-term wealth creation, income generation, or diversification of your investment portfolio.
Risk Assessment: Understand and assess the risks associated with agriculture investments, such as weather-related risks, market volatility, and regulatory changes, whether you are looking at land for sale or any other type of investment.
Develop a Diversified Portfolio: Diversify your investments across different agricultural sectors and geographic regions to spread risk.
Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to identify promising investment opportunities and potential demand for agricultural products.
Build a Network: Establish connections with farmers, agricultural experts, government agencies, and industry stakeholders who can provide insights and opportunities.
Financial Planning: Create a budget and financial plan that outlines your investment capital, expected returns, and cash flow requirements.
Select the Right Investment Type: Choose the type of agriculture investment that aligns with your goals, whether it is farmland, agribusiness ventures, or agricultural technology.
Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive due diligence on potential investments, including assessing the quality of farmland, the financial health of agribusinesses, and the technology's potential for scalability and profitability.
Sustainable Practices: Consider investments in sustainable and environmentally responsible agriculture practices, as they are gaining importance in the industry.
Risk Management: Implement risk management strategies, such as insurance, to protect your investments from unforeseen events like natural disasters or crop failures.
Continuous Learning: Stay informed about changes in the agricultural industry and adapt your investment strategy accordingly.
Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Understand and comply with local, national, and international regulations and tax laws that may impact your agriculture investments.
Monitor and Adjust: Regularly review the performance of your investments and be prepared to make adjustments or exit underperforming ones.
Long-Term Perspective: Agriculture investments often require a long-term perspective, so be patient and avoid making impulsive decisions based on short-term market fluctuations.
Seek Professional Advice: Consult with financial advisors, agricultural experts, and legal professionals to ensure that your investments are structured and managed effectively.
Successful agriculture investment often involves a mix of financial expertise, industry knowledge, and a willingness to adapt to changing conditions. It is important to approach agriculture investment with a well-thought-out strategy, and to be prepared for both opportunities and challenges in this sector.

are there any critiques of AI art or maybe AI in general that you would agree with?
AI art makes it a lot easier to make bad art on a mass production scale which absolutely floods art platforms (sucks). LLMs make it a lot easier to make content slop on a mass production scale which absolutely floods search results (sucks and with much worse consequences). both will be integrated into production pipelines in ways that put people out of jobs or justify lower pay for existing jobs. most AI-produced stuff is bad. the loudest and most emphatic boosters of this shit are soulless venture capital guys with an obvious and profound disdain for the concept of art or creative expression. the current wave of hype around it means that machine learning is being incorporated into workflows and places where it provides no benefit and in fact makes services and production meaningfully worse. it is genuinely terrifying to see people looking to chatGPT for personal and professional advice. the process of training AIs and labelling datasets involves profound exploitation of workers in the global south. the ability of AI tech to automate biases while erasing accountability is chilling. seems unwise to put a lot of our technological basket in a completely opaque black box basket (mixing my metaphors ab it with that one). bing ai wont let me generate 'tesla CEO meat mistake' because it hates fun

Famous dipshit and tech billionaire Fictional Asshole revealed today that his next business venture involves mass production of the minimal arrangement of human brain cells capable of having a soul.
"This'll definitely be profitable somehow," he said. "We're thinking of an app?
...Look, off the record? I'll level with you. None of my startups since Trungle have been profitable. I'm just throwing shit at the wall here and seeing what gets me venture capital. We've incinerated millions of these things already I have no idea what we're doing."
When asked about the ethics of deliberately creating organisms confirmed to have souls only to dispose of them, Fictional Asshole simply looked blankly at our interviewer as if incapable of processing the idea.

Couldnt it be argued that the US is still a slave republic? Domestically, there is slave labor through the prison system, human and labor trafficking, and only a few decades ago, if at that, systems such as convict leasing, share cropping, and debt peonage. Internationally, there is also the fact that for conflict minerals, coffee, chocolate, and other commodities, a portion if not the majority of it is sourced from slave labor.
The use of slavery in and of itself doesn't constitute the slave-society stage of production. Slavery continues to exist under feudalism and capitalism, but not as the driving force of society as in the ancient slave republics. Politically, in the modern USA, it is the bourgeoisie that are in power; and economically, it is the exploitation of waged labour (much of it overseas) that is the basis of production.
Further, slaves in the US are owned either by the state, in state prisons, and leased to private companies; or owned by large companies directly in private prisons. The individual or smallholder ownership of slaves was done away with in the USA's previous civil war: carried out between the industrial haute-bourgeois of the developed north, and the agricultural petty gentry of the southern hinterland. Slaves in the US today are the exclusive property of the bourgeoisie, through their corporations or bourgeois state.
While large amounts of raw materials are sourced through slave labour, as are agricultural goods, slave labour in the broadest sense is not applicable to industrial production of the type required by modern capitalism - if for nothing else than reasons of profitability. The slave labourer is effectively themselves human capital, part of the machinery bought wholesale - while they still effectively carry out labour, they fundamentally do not produce surplus value in the same manner as a wage-worker; it is necessary for their food and other reproductive labour to be given to them without cost, in the same way one carries out maintenance on equipment - whereas a wage-worker is only purchased and employed as capital for the duration of the workday, and then is responsible for their own food, housing, and reproductive labour. The principal exception to the use of slave labour in industrial production (which already has an exceedingly high fixed-capital cost compared to agriculture) is in the historical case of fascism, where primitive accumulation and war industry led to conditions favourable to industrial slave labour, which was carried out en-masse by e.g. German industrial syndicates using concentration camp labourers.
While the earlier USA, as a settler nation, made heavy use of both slavery and primitive accumulation, this was necessarily a historically-contingent process, one carried out by the European empires precisely because the Americas had not been 'brought up to' the level of social contradiction they had. Slavery's profitability necessarily fell as the USA industrialised, and remains now only in certain key industries like agriculture and military production. Historically, again, the movement to make slavery a profitable general venture in the era of capitalism is the fascist movement, which attempts generally to replace the proletariat at large by mobilising the higher strata upwards, into petty-bourgeois smallholders (e.g. wehrbauern), converting the middle strata into slaves, and exterminating the lower strata - a movement that fundamentally requires both large swathes of cleared land as well as mass depopulation, due to the lower population density such an essentially backwards mode of production can support. Ultimately, it is a project doomed to failure, due to the impossibility of turning back history - but one the bourgeoisie are inevitably driven to attempt when capitalism starts nearing the end of its profitability.
In the USA, historically, the exploitation of indigenous nations and external colonies has provided a source of profit and primitive accumulation that has rendered a genuine fascist movement effectively unnecessary, despite the middle-class yearning for it, but these systems are themselves drying up, and the US, while not a slave republic, will soon start attempting to fashion itself into one by carving up its population.
I hope this has answered your question, thank you for writing in!

A short essay about how Caspian is mathematically not a mole (ep. 115 spoilers) (and for the whole series for that matter)
Okay, alright guys, I saw your concerns. I saw it all, and you are right to be worried that your favourite blue wet man's blue and equally wet best friend may turn out to be a traitor. And so am I, trust me. Which is why I went through every single bit of Caspian's past I could dig out to create an unltimate timeline of his entire goddamn life to see it it'd be plausible for him to become a mole at any point in time and ultimately prove his innocence! If that's something you're interested in reading, then buckle up!
"Jay, you come from a division of soliders that were purposely put to infiltrate pirate crews, especially the new and upcoming ones. This is totally seperate from the Black-Ops situation that you learned about in the Stronghold. And you, in this book, can tell that there is a plant on Lizzie's crew."
This, of course is something I need to point out first. Whoever Lizzie's mole might be, they are not a doppelganger. They are not a clone, or Black-Ops, just a solider of the Navy, a person that must have gotten into the Navy via regular recruitment, be trained by them and then put into a spy division. Jay ofc had this entire process sped up, due to her grandma's influence, but no one other than her, especially an Undersea citizen, who would probably have to put in extra effort to be trusted given their shaky political situation few years back, would get the same treatment. What I'm trying to say, Caspian would need time, at least few years of training to become a mole they'd trust to infiltrate a crew, and not just any crew might I add. More on that later. Let's go back to his most early years for now. This is a fragment of episode 84 in which Caspian talks to Gillion abt his early life:
C: We all have family. I consider my life up here, this crew to be my found family. But my previousâŚtribe with the water genasi in the Undersea, where I was growing upâŚsort of in a [illegible]... remember me telling you about the outskirts? We umâŚwas very nomadic, quite a, quite a peaceful, tranquil life, but it was always, you knowâŚmixed with this life of poverty and my family wasnât veryâŚwouldnât really have much but the water around us, and each other, I suppose, so uhâŚYou know...I mean my mother didnât make it past old age, and uhâŚ
G: Iâm sorryâŚ
C: When my sister left the tribe, my father sort of fell into a depression of sorts and he stopped moving around. And when we stayed in one place, I was 18 or so, maybe 16, it was a while ago, and thenâŚthatâs when I left as well. Ventured to the Oversea, and umâŚand itâs history, so thatâs my family. Not sure what theyâre up to these days, I meanâŚI know my sister went to the capital, where you were.
G: Pirating is a pretty lucrative business, maybe ifâŚwe managed to find them or run into them, we can give something back, put them in a better situation.
C: âŚWell umâŚI mean this was 10-15, 10 to 12 to 15 years ago, quite some, quite some time, so I donât even know if my father is alive still, I mean I donât really have the desire to go back to the undersea, Gill.
G: Wha-why not?
C: Because I like my life up here. This is where Iâm happy.
So, before we go to what all of that entails, one more quick crazy thing to mention: so, Caspian's sister is an Elder of the Undersea. Like for sure. This is confirmed by this part from ep. 79:
The Triton who you remember as the Elder Odolaf, who looks like he is about to speak, but is cut off by the water genasi, who has been doing a lot of talking thus far, who is Elder Celeste. They stand up and there is a familiarity that you notice now in their face. Itâs like you have met them before, but not in the way that you know them because they are the Elder, but in a way that itâs like, they look like somebody you know. And she has sort of these uh, white tied-up like dreads that are tied up in like a bun and they come across the face and then one side is shaved. And there are beads and piercings in her hair, her ears are a little bit more sea elf-like in the way that they are pointed and they kind of like gradient into pink. They all kind of wear the same sort of ornate robes, though hers is more, I guess faded and like cut a bit, look a bit more warriorous, or like tribal, but still very well-made and professional.
Tribal clothing, a water genasi, that looks like someone Gillion saw before in the face. The only water genasi Gillion met after leaving the Undersea is Caspian. Elder Celeste is Caspian's sister. Wild. Anyway, not what we're here for, but I needed to mention that.
The crazier thing is that Caspian left to Oversea when he was 16-18, and it has been 10-15 years since then. That means Caspian is currently 26 at possible youngest, and 33 at his oldest, which was surprising to me, I did not imagine Caspian as a man in his 30s! But that's straight up facts, so holy shit, you know?
Okay, so I'm going to list a lot of small facts that determine a lot of ages in quick succession. I hope it's not gonna be too scary to look at, I'll simplify it all at the end. [Deep inhale]
Right now Gillion is 22. So when Caspian left the Undersea, Gillion was 12-7. Jay is 21 and Ava was 2 years older, same age as Lizzie. So Lizzie is 23 now. When Caspian left the Undersea, she was 13-8. Chip is 19, so Lizzie is 4 years older. Hole in the Sea happened when Chip was 9, so Lizzie was 13. So Caspian left the Undersea around the same time Lizzie crashed on the uninhabited island with Chey after the Hole.
It's a lot, I know, I know. So let me clear this up a little.
Hole in the sea was 10 years ago. Chip was 9, Lizzie was 13. 10 years ago Caspian was in the age between 16 and 23, and he left the Undersea when he was 16 or 18. So roughly at the same time the Black Sea happened, Caspian came to the surface for the first time.
(also pls note that we are talking in estimates, casue in ep. 36 Lizzie says she was 11 when the hole happened, but in ep. 101 she says she was the same age as Ava which by the power of math would put her at 13. Either way, somewhere around that age)
After that, Lizzie spend some time on an uninhabited island with Chey, the Black Rose cook, who sacrificed herself for Liz, so she could survive and died shortly after. We do not know how much time passed, but I assume no longer than few months, and after that she was saved by Captain Shadowbeard where she met Caspian. They were a part of Shadowbeard's crew, Caspian saved her from the massacre where Shadowbeard was killed, and then Lizzie went on to create her own crew, Grandberry Pirates with Caspian never leaving her for a second since he met her. That means that the only time Caspian could have joined the Navy would be RIGHT after he came to the Oversea for the first time, roughly at the same time Lizzie was stranded on an island, and in that short period of time (between Lizzie's crash on the island and her being found by Shadowbeard) he would have to find the time to be trusted and accepted by Navy, get trained specifically for infiltration AND infiltrate not anyones BUT FUCKING SHADOWBEARD'S SHIP. Not a NEW crew. A crew of one of the most legendary pirates on the sea. Cause before Lizzie, Caspian was Sadowbeard's crew member, and since then he never stopped being a pirate, so if he was a solider, he would have had to be one before Shadowbeard. And remeber what Grizzly said in 115: "Jay, you come from a division of soliders that were purposely put to infiltrate pirate crews, especially the new and upcoming ones."
Shadowbeard was not new. Not upcoming. He was dangerous and Navy must have had the balls of steal to send a rookie solider, which Caspian would have been at that point in time, to infiltrate him. The numbers say it's impossible. Guys, the numbers! They don't add up!
Anyway, so basically Caspian could not be a mole. He is not a new pirate, he was not a member of a fresh crew, becaue his pirate journey did not start with Lizzy, it started with Shadowbeard. Grandberry Pirates is a new crew, but Caspian is not a newbie in it. You know who is? Rudith. I mean what kind of doctor lets a bunch of rowdy pirates have a secret base under a place where sick and vulnerable rest??? Like ANY other place would have been better and more respectful! Also you know what's interesting? Gillion could heal these people with lay on hands easily, and yet the only thing Rudith did for them was give them potions that didn't seem to help and look after them on purely non-medical level. Bro didn't do shit. Like, why would you even become a doctor without having access to healing magic? The answer, you are not. You are a Navy solider in disguise.
Okay, okay, I'm done, that's all. If you got this far, you are a hero, thank you for reading this insanely long ramble, but that's kind of the conclusions that I came to, of course, any counter-theories and discussion in general is very much welcome! I'd love to hear your opinions! Love you guys, bye~

To go with my last post about Thistle acting capital-W Weird⢠around Laios, it really does make perfect sense when you think about their history from Thistle's perspective instead of through Laios' like we actually see.
Imagine being Thistle, and you're like, I don't know, 14, and you're the royal court jester and adoptive son of your King. And you just got a baby brother and you're so excited about it. It is, without doubt, the happiest day of your life so far. While you're celebrating a few of your family's servants and guards come in to help. One seems somewhat confused about the situation but you probably assume he's just a new hire, it makes sense to bring in added security when there's a new prince around. You don't see this knight again anytime afterwards, but you're not exactly in charge of hiring or firing guards, so it's not really any of your business where he wandered off to.
You are Thistle, and you're now probably around 40 or so, still rather young for an Elf but a fine young man nonetheless. You're all dressed up to the nines and eager to perform your newest flute composition in honor of your little brother's wedding, and you're so, so proud of how far he's come. You helped your father raise him well. And just as the ceremony's about to kick up, and the people are starting to get drunk and make merry and dance, the King, your father, collapses. Poison, assassination, you hear people cry out. But as you run towards him you slam right into one of your guards- and have the extremely fleeting thought of "WAS that one of our guards? I haven't seen them around but they seem so familiar somehow"- but as soon as the thought occurs you're snapped right back into the present, and the fact that your father was murdered right in front of your eyes, and that you couldn't do a thing to stop it.
It's been a small time now, enough that you've had time to lay your King to rest, and to prepare your brother for the throne. It's his coronation day. You should be happy- you are PROUD, of course, of how far your little brother has come- but it is not the joyous day that you would have hoped for, and instead one of mourning for you. And looking around the room as the Kingdom's crown changes bearers, you see a guard, rather out of place. And this time, you have time to process why he feels so strange here. You've seen this man before. You KNOW you've seen this man before. This is the man who you have seen exclusively on the best day of your life and the worst, with no trace of him elsewhere in your life, and he is here, now, again. And for one who is clearly a Tallman, he hasn't aged a single day. There is something wrong with him, and with you, and you feel that if you keep crossing paths it will only end in disaster for you. So you try to kill him. And he disappears, right in front of your eyes. You don't see him around after this. You pray you never will again.
You are now The Mad Sorcerer- no longer, even, the false name given to you by your King. Only the title used by those who want to kill you remains in people's minds. It's been so long now. You can't even count how many years it's been, but you know your life has reached centuries upon centuries past what you were meant to live. And so has everyone you've ever cared about. In these years you have done everything you can to preserve the last bit of what you can call home, trapping yourself and your entire kingdom in an oasis of immortality. So what if the people may grow to resent you? You're protecting them. It's not your fault people may mistake your kindness for cruelty. Though many adventuring parties have tried, none have gotten through your defenses, so as long as you keep focused on your goal things will be fine. Except for this last week or so, where one particularly troublesome party has been making their way further than most would dare venture. And you swear on your Kingdom's throne, if this party includes who you think it includes, you are going to have a fucking aneurysm.
You are the Lord of this Dungeon, and unfortunately for you, your house has just been broken into. Even more unfortunately for you, you know exactly who did it. When you step through your front door, everything is unsettlingly clean. You wonder why in the world the man following you for your entire life would take the time to tidy your house if he's here to psychologically torture you. And then a thought hits you like a punch to the gut, and you rush upstairs, and you see all of your diaries taken out of their hiding spots. And you know that if they took a look through them they would find roughly 200 pages of glittery pink gel pen writing out repeatedly,
⨠This motherfucker again â¨

BTS Military enlistment thoughts...
These are my thoughts and opinions. Information is out there if you seek it yourself. Nothing has been confirmed by any of the members or the company.
News media says Korean male citizens Kim Namjoon, Kim Taehyung, Park Jimin and Jeon Jungkook will be enlisting soon: Dec. 11 for the first two and Dec. 12 for the latter pair.
And that Jimin and Jungkook seem to have chosen the companion enlistment option. Yes, "option" because they could have chosen to go in separately.
Koreans who are familiar with how this all works, have tried to explain the process. From what I understand, the companion option allows them to serve their entire enlistment together.
They weren't forced and this wasn't their only option for enlistment. They chose this themselves for a reason, for personal reasons, that none of us can know because we aren't them.
Many speculate but NO ONE KNOWS their reasons!
According to various sources, they will be at the same training center as Jin. There are many groups doing ongoing training there. But I don't believe they will be in the same company that Jin serves as assistant trainer. Credible sources say that Jin's unit at the training center is not accepting recruits on Dec. 12 which is the supposed date that Jimin and Jungkook will enter the military but we don't know for sure. But being at the same training center would allow them to see each other when they have time.
This reunion:
We won't know for sure until it actually happens.
Many are throwing around wild speculation regarding the fact Jimin and Jungkook are the only two with tattoos and therefore had fewer options. But they aren't. All the members have tattoos now. The Korean military needs all the manpower they can get, they aren't excluding men with tattoos, they are just limiting the situations they can serve.
The options are limited (and only slightly) for them because very visible tattoos, especially on the arms and hands, would allow them to be identified too easily. This is a consideration and criteria that is regulated in militaries and law enforcement around the world and is not isolated to Korea. Criminals are identified by their tattoos. Military personnel can also be identified by visible tattoos. In a situation where it is imperative that enlisted remain anonymous, hand tattoos would be a dead giveaway for identification. I'm sure there are other reasons for no tattoos allowed in certain assignments.
The application process began months ago and is the same process all Korean male citizens would go through to be approved for the companion program.
No one is really discussing Tae and Namjoon, everyone is going batshit crazy over Jimin and Jungkook. Let them do their service in the manner they wish. None of you have any say-so in it so shut up.
No one is capable of or even wants to step back and consider the big picture which is more telling.
Regarding Tae and Namjoon, I would venture to say that after basic training, its possible Namjoon will serve in some capacity with the Defense Ministry's Agency for KIA Recovery & Identification which he was named ambassador for earlier this year. That office is located in Seoul I believe. The fact he is well-known publicly and he can speak English would enhance his success in an assignment of this sort. This agency recovers those who lost their lives in action during the Korean War in which American soldiers also perished.
Recovering those KIA happens near or in the DMZ.
IF the hearsay about where Jimin and Jungkook might be assigned after training has any truth, they are supposedly headed to this area as they also perform minesweeping when searching for KIA remains. Again, none of this is confirmed, I am just employing critical thinking...
Tae supposedly has chosen the Special Task Force of the Army's Capital Defense Command. That seems like it implies he'll remain within Seoul during his enlistment.
It's all speculation, but I think these men carefully considered their options and the ramifications. None of this was done on a whim, from Namjoon's ambassadorship and the possibilities of it, to Jimin and Jungkook's companion enlistment and why they chose that option, NONE OF IT WAS DONE WITHOUT CAREFUL CONSIDERATION. They had to apply MONTHS ago for the options they were allowed to choose. They are not the only men in Korea enlisting this year, there are tens of thousands of others.
No one is considering, IF Namjoon is in Seoul during his enlistment, he would have something in common with Tae. And Yoongi. And Jin will be discharged in June, Hobi will be discharged in October... the implications, the connections... their target is 2025. Nothing is a coincidence. They can't be working while enlisted, however reuniting briefly with friends over dinner and drinks is allowed... what they talk about during their get togethers is none of our business.
ALL THAT BEING SAID... Hybe did a tremendous job this past summer with the 10th anniversary Festa celebration, involving various municipality governments, procuring large corporate sponsors and communicating to news media in the almost month long series of events. They elevated the general public's awareness of BTS's impact and therefore instilled value and pride for their continued success.
No military commander would want anything to happen to the members while under their watch.
NOTHING IS A COINCIDENCE.
P.S.: The idiots sending in emails to the Defense Ministry are hurting EVERYONE. The level of lunacy knows no bounds with certain people. They suffer from a pathological psychosis. Don't engage, don't acknowledge.

For Lula, Milei Has Gone From Being a Nuisance to Being a Problem
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has aspirations for regional and global leadership. Standing in Lulaâs way is the fact that he cannot even get a meeting with his counterpart from neighboring Argentina, President Javier Milei.
Seven months after Mileiâs inauguration, the two leaders have met only once and even then briefly, on the sidelines of the G7 meeting last month in Italy. Otherwise, they have unartfully dodged each other as they have darted around the region and the world promoting their opposing ideological views.
Lulaâs global agenda is expansive. He wants Brazil to have a permanent United Nations Security Council seat. He plans for the country to take a leading role in climate change negotiations as he hosts the U.N. COP30 Climate Change Conference in Brazil next year. He has tried to insert himself as a mediator in the Ukraine conflict. And when BRICSâthe political grouping that includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africaâmoved to expand last year, Lula made sure to bring along Argentina under then-President Alberto Fernandez as one of its new members.
Milei withdrew Argentina from the BRICS expansion process as soon as he took office in December. Thatâs consistent with his desire to move the country away from China and closer to the United States. Besides that, he has not clearly outlined an international agenda for his country. But Milei definitely has an international agenda for himself. He has portrayed himself as an ally of Israel and Ukraine, a contrast to Latin Americaâs left-wing leaders who have opposed the formerâs war in Gaza and mainly attempted to remain neutral on the latterâs fight against Russian aggression.
Ideologically, Milei is attempting to turn himself into a global icon for free market libertarianism, speaking at conferences in South America, the U.S. and Europe, and meeting with venture capital investors and social media stars. He uses strong rhetoric in favor of capitalism and against any form of what he views as socialism or Marxism. His relatively extreme views, which only appeal to a small minority of Argentine voters who comprise his base, get him wild cheers overseas.

I'm not a super dedicated gamer these days, but I loved Kerbal Space Program (a game that was more a labour of love than a commercial project) and was super hyped for the much delayed KSP2. When I saw it was releasing as early access (years late) I worried for its hopes of ever seeing completion and held off buying, now after all the other shananigans the entire team have been let go in yet another mass lay-off in the gaming industry. I feel like, a few notable exceptions aside, the big-budget gaming sector has been failing to deliver real quality games for a long time now, with lower-budget indie games more often coming up with gold from much simpler foundations. It seems almost as though developers are being pushed to shoot for unachievably epic games and releasing buggy messes, or vast but hollow worlds when the publishers get impatient or the money runs out. Is there any grain of truth in my feeling that bankrollers' expectations for games is leading to more games failing to live up to the hype as projects spiral out of control and over budget? Would big studios benefit from learning from indie devs and aiming to really nail down a simpler scope but on a scale beyond what the indies can achieve?
Industry-wise thereâs a couple of things at play. And apologies for the length of this.
During the pandemic, there was a shitload of investment into the gaming industry as everyone was at home and many started playing games for the first time, so venture capital firms piled money in.
They were looking for a return on their investment, not really aiming to cultivate long-term studio success.
This puts pressure on the studio to get the game out the door quickly. That month or two of QA before launch just becomes overhead while you have a product that could be selling right now.
Chance to earn even more money for shareholders and execs? Welcome to microtransaction hell.
So thatâs one side of it, investors/shareholders/execs forcing decisions that make games worse.
Next bit is partly influenced by the shareholder side of things but also a huge cultural side too. Lots of studios complete a project and then layoff staff because the next game isnât ready to start being developed yet OR layoff staff because they donât want to pay them OR staff leave to go and do something else (often due to lack of pay, lack of promotion etc)
And what this leads to is a *massive* corporate knowledge gap. People take their skills and knowledge and create voids. Voids that need to be filled by senior staff, which is why big AAA studios are always hiring seniors, and rarely hiring juniors. So all the seniors job-hop from studio to studio and thereâs no new skill set being cultivated by new industry talent.
In my experience, these huge studios are also incredibly siloed. Itâs something that impacts most industries, siloed teams lead to sluggish development and decision-making.
I think the games industry walks an incredibly fine line between being a creative endeavour and being a tech business. Process management methodologies honestly seem quite alien to the games industry, most of the time to its detriment.
It honestly wouldnât be that hard to implement but Production as a discipline within games seems to be relegated to âstaring at JIRAâ particularly in larger studios.
Could write forever about this to be honest.
Worth saying that indie studios also have their own issues. Almost everything is a scramble, and the search for publisher funding is a nightmare.

Hello lovely friends and supporters! Thank you for your patience while I finish off this absolute behemoth of a story for you! You voted in the poll for a deep sea merman and a gn reader, so that is what I wrote for you.
All 13k words of it!
It's a new corner of my fantasy realms, with new characters I'm excited to introduce to you!
Content: gender neutral human reader becomes a part of a bandit gang made up of non-humans and struggles a little to find their place. On a new venture for the gang, the human becomes essential to the plan to smuggle a product from the Absolute Deep all the way to the capital, and in the process, they forge an unlikely relationship with a certain Deepfolk merman. Featuring some minor violence and threat to life, a near drowning, and mention of biting and very mild blood during nsfw, messy hand jobs and some oral, as well as some self-worth and self-deprecating humor on the human's part.
Wordcount: 13,324
Extract:
The storm had mostly blown itself into quiescence overnight, though the air was still thick with salt and the wind carried gusts of seawater thinned with errant raindrops that spattered onto your cheeks and dribbled down your collar until you shivered with almost every step.
There wasnât another soul out on the main Cliff Road that stretched the length of the Saraghin Coast and then dipped inland to become other roads that headed towards the capital. After close to three miles of walking in the pre-dawn gloom, you'd begun to think this âArnakâ wasnât going to show. Youâd also completely forgotten about Nil trailing you until you saw the faintest flicker of a shape out of the corner of your eye and your hand went to the blade snugged in against your hip on reflex.
A lanky figure emerged from behind a gnarled rowan tree on your right and stood regarding you, motionless, for three pounding heartbeats before sliding back behind it, and you exhaled shakily.Â
âBloody hell,â you hissed, not sure if they could hear you or not, but you suspected they werenât human and probably had really good hearing. âYou scared the shit out of me, Nil.â
Something like shards of glass scraping together sounded on the wind, and you shuddered again.
Another half a mile or so down the road had you certain the selkie was going to be a no-show, but just when youâd begun to entertain the idea of turning around and heading for a warming drink, and maybe a tumble in the sheets with that minotaur barkeep to warm you up even more, you caught sight of a figure sitting hunched on a rock ahead of you, with the spotted sealskin of a leopard seal selkie shimmering in the grey light of the waxing dawn.
âTook your fuckinâ time,â the huge man growled as he got to his feet at your approach. âAvis said âbefore dawnâ.â
âYou didnât give her a point to meet me. Iâve been on the road since well before dawn, friend. Shall we go?â you said with a firm but not unfriendly smile.
He just rolled his dark eyes and turned away without a word.
The man was massive, and built like the boulder heâd been sitting on, with colossal shoulders and a soft middle that belied the strength underneath. His iron grey hair was tied back in a low bun, and sections of it drifted across his eyes in the wind. He could have been anywhere from his late twenties to his early sixties for all you knew.Â
Your companion said nothing whatsoever to you until you reached a tiny, switchback path in the cliff a couple of miles later, where he abruptly stopped, gestured with one salt-tanned hand, and said, âGood luck, human. If you survive this and I ever see you again, I might buy you a drink at the Three Eyed Rat myself,â and walked off in the direction of Saltwater Bite without another word.
For a long moment, you stared after him with your heart thudding in your throat, but with a deep breath for courage, and the knowledge that there was probably a shadow-less creature within earshot to help out if you got into trouble, you turned your attention to the cove below.
The slate grey sea still churned with the remnants of the storm, waves shouldering their way up the beach and raking their foaming wake down the gritty shingle shore in a relentless rhythm, but there was no sign of anyone down there. The whole thing felt horribly like a setup, but you tried to tell yourself that Avis and her crew liked you by now, and you had your uses too. You filled a niche in the group that no one else could. She wouldnât give you up to the authorities or to a spy or even a rival crew so easily.
You hoped.
The switchback path took a while to navigate safely, and by the time you had made it to the bottom, the sun had just started to rise above the horizon, way out to sea. It cast a weak, silvered-bronze look to the water and to the wet, dark rocks, and made each of the pebbles beneath your boots glint like lost diamonds from a shipwreck. You picked one up and turned the ordinary stone over in your hand before lobbing it as far as you could out into the water.
The flat, bottom half of an empty oyster shell caught the light and you stooped to pick that up next, fitting it into the curve of your index finger and flicking your wrist so that it skimmed the waves. Well, it skipped twice, and then chopped into the waves and flipped over, disappearing out of sight beneath the water.
âAre you Avisâ human?â
The grinding, scraping voice came from the rocks somewhere to your left and you all but screeched in surprise. Your whole body jolted and you whipped your head around to stare at the rocks, but there was no one there.
âIâm not anyoneâs human,â you fired back, defensive mostly out of surprise rather than any real outrage. âWhere are you?â
A coarse, slightly wheezy laugh was your only reply for a moment, then, making a small bow-wave ahead of them in the water, a hand appeared around the rock.
The skin was grey and speckled, but it looked almost chitinous, and it reminded you of the kind of fancy gauntlets the armoured knights wore at jousting tourneys. As more of it appeared, you followed the line of that muscular arm, up its body to a shoulder that was equally armoured, with spiked protrusions like a fantastical pauldron, until the figure pulled itself around the boulder in the water and regarded you from pale, almost blind-looking eyes.Â
The creature before you was like nothing youâd ever seen. If a sea dragon had mated with a shark, its offspring might have come close to this, but there was something of the monstrous merrow in their clearly bipedal body, and behind them in the water, like the spined tail of a sahaugin, floated a thick tail.
Your jaw must have been hanging open because the creature laughed that shattered glass laugh again and you blinked yourself back to the moment.
They had no real lips, only a slightly pinkish mouth that showed a double row of teeth, again like a sharkâs, and they cocked their wedge-shaped head curiously at you. âShark got your tongue, little human?â the creature snickered. âYou werenât expecting one of the Deepfolk in person then, eh?â
âIâŚâ you faltered. âForgive me,â you croaked, forcing yourself to speak. âItâs not often I find myself completely lost for words. And youâre right. I thought perhaps another selkie, or one of the shallower-dwelling merfolk would be here to deliver Avisâ shipment.â
âIâve brought it personally for you,â the Deepfolk grinned, showing off all those teeth. It shouldnât have been as attractive as it was to have a predator leer at you like that from the water, but it was what it was, and you hid it as best you could. âAre you going to come in and get it?â

Winter Wonderland | KTH
Pair: Taehyung x F ReaderÂ
Summary: This Christmas, Taehyung and you venture back to his hometown, Daegu. Celebrating it with the whole family this time, you hoped to give Taehyung the best Christmas experience in a while. But he had something more special planned. Amidst the soft glow of festive lights and cosy moments, held the core of the magic.Â
Genre: Fluff, Idolxreader, established relationship au
WC: 2861
You were grateful for the silence and peace you were experiencing as you loaded the luggage into the car. Taehyung had come home early a few days ago, running through the house like a kid who got a present, and told you that the both of you would be heading to Daegu to celebrate Christmas this year. Eomma and Appa had constantly been asking to see the both of you but due to Taehyungâs busy schedules, the both of you had kindly declined them for years.Â
Of course, you could go on your own but the last time that had happened, you got mobbed at the train station which caused Taehyung to pick up a huge fight with the company. He was determined to give you the security that he, the boys, and their partners got but the company was reluctant as you had not been introduced to the public yet.Â
The next few days that passed, Taehyung was constantly restless and wouldnât let you out of the house. It took a lot of communication and patience between the both of you to finally get through that patch. Tae had insisted on introducing you to Army through Weverse Live. After that incident and busy schedules, the both of you hadnât been able to make it to Eomma and Appaâs for Christmas.Â
This year, Taehyung took some time off work and you⌠you were currently in the process of opening a business with a close friend of yours. The idea has always sat in the depths of the basket of ideas but due to the high cost of capital, both of you were afraid to take that risk. Now, both of you having a bit higher stability in your financial terms, have finally decided to bite the towel and start.Â
Settling into the comfy leather of the car seat, you arranged the snack basket and drinks. Just as Taehyung opened the door and stepped in, you were already arranging the blanket you had brought along with you. Your luggage was placed in the boot while the smaller bags were in the back of the car seat. Taehyung and you had gone on a splurge the day after he told you that you were going back home. More like Taehyung. He stocked up multiple types of foods and clothes and every other thing that he wanted to give his parents and siblings.Â
It was a once-in-a-blue moon that the whole family would be together for a whole week, celebrating. So naturally, Tae had prepared⌠too many things. But you didnât have the heart to tell your boyfriend that he was overdoing it. You knew how much he missed his family and you werenât going to stop him.Â
On the contrary, youâd help him. Making signature dishes from your home country, you packed them into containers and placed them at the back of the car, ensuring that it was on a safe and stable platform.Â
âReady?â Tae buckled in, a hand immediately going into the basket of food you had prepared to dig out something.Â
Smacking his hand, you handed him a roll of kimbap, saying, âHave this instead.â
Taking it from you, he kissed your forehead and drove off, wheels screeching against the coating of the road.
Most of the road trip was filled with music softly playing in the background and munching. Tae was always hungry and you had finally managed to pack his favourite snacks, he was beyond overjoyed at eating them. Taehyung looked over to you, smiling as he found you curled up on the passenger seat.Â
Brows furrowing at the uncomfortable position, Taehyung leaned over to carefully recline the seat, one hand on the steering wheel. You fumbled and whined at the movement and Tae was quick to quiet you down, pulling the blanket higher to your neck. Your hair splayed across the seat and your lips were open, emitting a soft snore. Taehyung lowered further the volume of the music, hand coming to your hair and pushing a few stray strands out of your face.Â
He was playful once.Â
And it isnât that he is no longer playful. No, Taehyung was still a menace in the house, whining and complaining for your attention - that much he knew. But he felt like he needed it. He felt like he needed to know where you were at, what you were doing, how you were doing. He wanted your attention - craved for it. But he also knew that you liked your space and own time. So he holds it in until every few hours when he would just randomly send you a selfie or update you on how practise is going.Â
You never take long to answer his text messages. You were quick to update him on how work was going as well. However, with you starting a business that was long planned with your friend, you werenât home as often and when you were, you were always exhausted. It took to a level that Taehyung was worried for your health and mental well-being. He knew how important it was to you but he didnât want you to overwork yourself.
So he asked - more like forced - the management to let him off for the whole week of Christmas. Then, when Eomma and Appa called to ask if you were coming for Christmas this year, Taehyung felt like he hit the jackpot.Â
You had never really explored Daegu before and he had always planned to take you there one day so that you could see where he grew up. He would show you all the beautiful places and delicious food, all the playgrounds and parks, schools and roads. He would show you his safest and most secretive places. So, he told Eomma that the both of you would be there a day in advance to help them prepare for the feast the next day.Â
Taehyung couldnât help feeling excited.
As you mumbled in your sleep, he felt his lips tilt up into a soft smile. The roads were fairly empty this early in the morning so he placed a hand on your thigh and continued.
The snowfall of the season was always a magical experience and it felt like the whole world had been transformed. Coming from a country with only one season, you were always beyond ecstatic to see snow. It never fails to amaze you with the chilliness and familiarity you feel. As you and Taehyung walk through the streets of Daegu, you observe the lights adorning the city. They seem to twinkle more at a certain angle but that could just very possibly be from your own excitement.Â
Having never explored Daegu well enough, you took every bit of this opportunity to absorb everything you see and hear. The last time you made this trip, you were alone and afraid. But this time, you were with your beloved, and you are determined to make this holiday a memorable one.Â
The both of you needed a break and this was just it - with all the festive feels and sparkling lights.Â
Going home with the groceries that the both of you freshly bought from the market, the both of you drove home. Eomma and Appa were up and bickering together with Taehyungâs siblings groggily drinking coffee and making kimchi. Most ingredients were already ready the night before.Â
âWeâre home!â Taehyung yelled.
âAh - In the kitchen!â
When you stepped in, you were bombarded with warmth.Â
Not a physical sense of warmth like a hug but rather, a growing feeling in your chest - similar to one where you would enjoy cuddling time with Tae on the couch. A sense of familial warmth. You must have stopped long enough that Taehyung put the groceries on the table and walked back to you. His eyes worried over your frame and his brows bunched up.Â
âHey⌠You okay?â Tae gently took the bags from your hands, placing them on the table next to his. Following his movements, you stood beside him and wrapped your arms around his waist, snuggling face-first into his chest.Â
Taeâs hand came up to stroke your hair as you hugged him tighter.Â
âNeed a break? We can skip kimchi making if you donât feel well. Iâm sure Eomma will understand.â
You shook your head. You wanted to have this experience with them. Eomma and Appa were kind enough to let you in on the family tradition and you werenât going to spoil it.Â
âIâm okay, just⌠happy.â
Taehyungâs eyes drifted over your frame as he tried to explicitly find out what was wrong. But there was no lie in that sentence. You hadnât felt this way in a long time and a nolgastic feeling just overcame you at that moment.Â
âItâs been a while since Iâve felt like this.â You tip-toed, bringing your hand up to ruffle his hair. âIâm okay. Promise.â
Taehyung was sceptical about your reasoning - you could see that. But you most certainly not going to let the feeling wash over you and ruin your day. It was barely nine in the morning and you were going to make this the best Christmas for Tae as possible.Â
Picking up a pair of gloves, you wore two layers and squatted down, starting to learn from Eomma how to make the perfect kimchi. In each city and each family, they all have what they depict as the perfect kimchi just like how different families have different perceptions of how perfect rice is cooked.Â
As the sun began to set, the both of you stood on the balcony, staring out into the first snowfall. You watched as the snowflakes fell gently to the ground. Taehyung wrapped his arms around you and you leaned into his warm embrace. Passing you a cup of hot chocolate, you gratefully took it from his hands and blew.Â
âItâs beautiful, isnât it?â Tae whispered, his breath tickling the edge of your ear.Â
You nodded. âPerfect, just like you.â
Taehyung chuckled and pressed a soft kiss to your cheek. âPerfect, you say? I got something that might top this.â
âOh yeah?â With your curiosity piqued you followed him into the living room.Â
You stepped back into the living room, seeing the beautifully decorated Christmas tree that stood proud at the edge, its ornaments glimmered with the holiday magic. The little bells rang as you glided your hand through the figs of the tree. The scent of cinnamon and chocolate filled the air as you saw the spread of cookies and drinks on the coffee table.Â
âTaehyung! Itâs amazing!â You exclaimed, completely taking in the holiday atmosphere he had created.Â
His eyes sparkled under the dim glow of the shining star that was placed on top of the Christmas tree. âI thought we could have a little celebration tonight - just the both of us.âÂ
âHow about Eomma and Appa? And your siblings?â Growing up, your family never really celebrated Christmas but whenever you see families celebrating, they are joyful - together.Â
That was the key. It was a time when everybody partied and celebrated togetherness.Â
âThey went out for some drinks. I told them I got something planned for the both of us.â
âBut -â
Taehyung pulled on your arm. âCome on, Jagiya. Itâs the twenty-fourth not the twenty-fifth. Weâll be spending all the time together tomorrow!â
You huffed. You wanted to celebrate it well this year after not being together for so long. Especially for Taehyung.
But he had a point. The both of you have the whole week to bond. So you sighed and caved in, climbing onto the sofa and cuddling with your bear. From little treats to shoving food competitively down your throats, to laughter and warm embraces, your evening was filled with the glow of the holiday.Â
The evening quickly turned to night, and with the snow, the darkness embraced you earlier. The both of you panted against the couch, tired from all the chasing you did around the house. The both of you had much to clean - you, for one, didnât like to leave food out overnight and have the family come back to a messy house.Â
As the clock struck midnight, you had just finished cleaning the last of the bits and arranging the tables and chairs.Â
âJagiya.â You heard Tae call you from the windows. âCome here.â
Turning around, you left the cloth on the glass top, walking over to your bear with outstretched arms. When the both of you touched, you instantly hugged him, hands dragging under his clothes, seeking his warmth.Â
Taehyung hissed at the coolness of your fingertips but didnât pull away. Oh, he was soaking in your attention. The past few hours felt like heaven. He didnât have much time to spend with you due to the nature of both your works. Sometimes when he was home, you werenât; when he was asleep you were out doing your job. However, on certain occasions when the both of you are home, all the both of you think is âthe bedâ.Â
So today, the time you spent together made him feel alive again. Alive - in so many different ways. But Taehyung did not prepare this feast without another purpose. Primarily, he had hoped that you would let go and laugh again - play again.
To be a kid again.Â
To show you the love he has for you.Â
But at the same time, he had done this⌠so that he, could do this.Â
Leading you to the window the both of you looked out, seeing the snow creating a serene blanket of white. It had covered the majority of the roads and you knew that by the time daytime come, it would probably be deep enough to make snow angels.Â
âMake a wish on the first star you see,â Taehyung said, pointing to a bright star in the night sky.Â
You closed your eyes and made your wish. Finishing, you turned back to Taehyung and found him holding a small velvet box.Â
No. Way.
âBefore we exchange gifts, there is something I need to ask you. I promise this isnât the only gift I got you.â Taehyung laughed, eyes nervously skimming everywhere. Taking a deep breath, he looked at you, eyes filled with love and anticipation. Dropping on one knee, Taehyung opened the box and held it out to you.Â
Your heart pounded in your chest and you could barely contain your excitement. Sitting gently in the middle of the box was a delicate, sparkling ring.Â
âYouâve been through thick and thin with me - helped me. You had made me a better person than who I was. You taught me so many things and -â Taehyung rubbed his face with one hand. He sighed. âIâm not good with sticking to the script so, just - Y/N, will you marry me?â
Time felt like it stood still after Taehyung proposed to you. It was probably just a few seconds but -
It felt like your memories were flowing past you like a movie.Â
The first time you met, the first awkward date, the first kiss, first - everythingâŚ? You had so many things you wanted to tell him - so many âI love youâs to say.Â
Tears welled up in your eyes and you nodded vigorously. âYes. Yes, yes, yes - Taehyung, oh my gosh, yes!â
The boxy smile that formed on his face felt brighter than the shine of the star on top of the Christmas tree. He slipped the ring onto your finger, sealing your engagement with a tender kiss.Â
You had hoped to plan the best Christmas for Taehyung but he most certainly, outdid you. And this magic was one that neither of you would ever forget.Â
You awoke to the smell of delicious breakfast wafting through the open door. You wrapped yourself in the warm blanket - your only form of warmth right now - and made your way down, following your nose to the source of the mouthwatering scent.Â
Taehyung was standing at the island, expertly cutting a range of fruits while his brother flipped pancakes. The moment he heard you come in, he turned to you and grinned. âGood morning, fiancèe.â
You couldnât help but blush at the term. It was something new and exciting. âGood morning husband-to-be.â
âFiancĂŠe? Husband-to-be?â Jeon-Gyu pondered, turning to Taehyung. âSo this was your plan last night, hyung?â
Jeon-Gyu carried an offending look on his face. âHyung!â
Taeyhyung just ignored him and hugged you from the back. âThereâs nothing wrong with needing you all out of the house when I proposed. It is a time for Y/N and I.â
âBut hyung -â
âPlus,â Taehyung cut in. âI believe none of you would like to have heard what went down too.â
The silence was deafening. You stood rigid against Taehyung, cheeks flaring up.Â
âNo - no, we most certainly wouldnât.âÂ
Taehyung whipped around.Â
Eomma, Appa, and Eun Jun stood at the threshold of the door to the kitchen. Eun Jun looked smug as if she knew what was coming while Eomma and Appa looked flustered, walking in on a situation.Â
Taehyung groaned in embarrassment against your shoulder as your cheeks burned an even deeper shade of red.Â
