Ignore this if you're uncomfortable with the topic. Could you write how some of the Agents(Neon, Sage, Sova, Reyna, Phoenix) would react to witnessing someone spiking the reader's drink at a bar?
𝕊𝕡𝕚𝕜𝕖𝕕 𝔻𝕣𝕚𝕟𝕜
Tumblr media
Words: 414
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She likely wont do anything rash as much as she want’s to.
Would rather nothing happens, especially to you.
Will dump the drink before pulling you along with her.
Informs the nearest employee / bouncer.
If you really want to keep drinking, on the way back she’ll run into a store to buy something for you.
But you two are going straight home after.
Tumblr media
Tries not to make a scene about it.
Instead she’ll take the spiked drink away from you.
If asked about it she will quickly explain.
Will buy you a new drink of your choice.
From them on she stays close and keeps an eye out for that person.
Before leaving she’ll keep you close and talk to security about them.
Tumblr media
The actions he takes all depend on you.
He’s willing to just talk to the person who did it. (No way they escape his sight.)
But he barely gets any words out as his stature is intimidating enough.
Will hesitate to leave you alone even if you insist you’ll be fine.
Definitely won’t if there's no other agents around with you.
No matter what happens he will buy you a new drink of your choice.
Either way that person will be removed.
If you want to stay he’ll let you, he just hangs around much closer than earlier.
Won’t let you stay out too much later though.
Tumblr media
Reyna is someone who doesn’t care about making a scene.
All she cares about is getting her revenge on the target.
She hasn’t let anyone harm you and get away with it, and they definitely aren’t going to be the exception.
She’ll make sure you’re safe with either someone else around or keeps you close to her.
Swiftly pulls them outside and away from anyones sight.
Debates on how to get rid of the person but in the end she’ll just suck their soul.
At that point she is not letting you stay out any longer.
Takes you home and cares for you until you fall asleep.
Tumblr media
Willingly makes a scene about this.
It could be to protect you, try to embarrass the person or have them caught, who knows?
But you know all three happened.
Won’t willingly let that person go
But if it means leaving you alone he won’t go after them.
Might light a piece of their clothing on fire, as a bit of revenge… (And some fun.)
If they escape him, they won’t escape the sight or grasp of Cypher.

Who hoards the coffee maker between all of them? 👀
The daycare isn't that well-off but we're lucky to have a coffee maker. (I asked Ying Wei about it, and she said that it came from the previous management...? I'm not that well-versed with the history of this establishment, to be honest). Not everyone drinks coffee, of course, but if I have to answer this including everyone into the picture...
Tumblr media
I will say however that there is a... spike of hoarders among our interns when they have a project or college assignments to finish up, mostly the new recruit Zhao Yu, who apparently majors in Computer Science—which causes conflict with Vincent who practically holds the pot his entire shift.
So, Kirra then implemented a strict rule that everyone is only allowed to two small cups of coffee per employee every day. It's a jab to Vincent, of course, but I feel like it was more of her looking out for Miss Ling since she tends to palpitate from drinking too much... that poor woman needs to rest sometimes and not rely on bean juice, really.

Valorant Protocol as Highschool Stereotypes
Tumblr media
Characters: Chamber, Gekko, Iso, Jett, Killjoy, Neon, Phoenix, Raze, Sage, Skye, Viper, Yoru Type: Headcanons
HAHA help me valorant brainrot >.< also this is based off of my hs experience soooo yeah
Warnings: none
Tumblr media
Chamber
your typical pretty boy
all the girls love him all the boys hate him
well...most of the girls love him
they follow him around to classes or offer him gifts or ask to sit with him at lunch etc.
and he eats up the attention every time
he's lab partners with Viper in Environmental Sciences and he likes trying to flirt with her
she actually hates him btw
Gekko
canonically he skateboards
but honestly? I can see him being on the dance team
he's so high energy, he needs some sort of outlet
he never misses an opportunity to show off his dance moves
homecoming? prom? he is the center of the dance circle
like Raze, he doesn't know how popular he is
he's just happy to have so many good friends that it doesn't even actually occur to him that he's considered "popular"
Iso
he's an ap art kid
like he walks around with a big ass sketchbook every day
always talking about his portfolio
Iso baby ily but please shut the fuck up about oil paints <3
he probably volunteered part of his summer break to come in and paint a mural for the school
I think he'd also take a piano class as like a schedule filler but he actually gets crazy good at it
Jett
pe tryhard
if you end up on the opposite team as her while playing dodge ball good luck 😓
she's always picked as team captain because literally no one else is excited as she is
she's sorta like Hairo from Saiki K 💀
she gets a lil mad when her teammates don't try
Killjoy
she's in robotics club
she's not very popular but that doesn't bother her at all
she heads straight to and from every class and spends her lunch period in the workshop unless Raze drags her off somewhere
not a lot of people actually know who she is, and if they do they just know her as 'Raze's Friend'
i think she'd remind the teacher about the homework and hit you with the "erm actually 🤓" tbh
Neon
she's on track and field/cross country
after every meet you can find her laying on the floor somewhere ready to puke bc she tries so hard to win 😭
she always ends up top 5 tho
she complains about practice but joins the team every year anyways
she carries her bag around all the time and if you open it there's like 10 water bottles in there
#hydratedqueen
Phoenix
theater kid DUHH
he's probably drama club president or sumn
bro will NOT let go of a specific song from a musical he was in his freshman year and it wasn't even his song 💀
he's been in every show every year and somehow he manages to land every role he wants
he's insanely good at the game 'bang' (mostly because he's louder than everyone else...)
he probably plans/hosts the cast parties too
Raze
she doesn't care much about her grades
she does the bare minimum and gets straight Cs
she's just here to have fun
everyone likes her because of her approachable personality
she doesn't think she's popular but she is
Sage
she's in the medical assistant class
she takes it very seriously, as she plans on going to medical school
even before taking the class she carries a first aid kit and other essentials everywhere she goes
you need a bandaid? ibuprofen? a pad or tampon? she has it all
she's also ASB president
school events literally would not be able to run without her
lets just say her college applications/resume will look REALLY good...
Skye
she also took medical assistant but was less crazy about it than Sage
she just follows her friend's lead
she thinks the skills are useful but she doesn't see herself making it her career
but also I think she would play volleyball
she's a well rounded player but specializes most in defense
still, don't underestimate her bc this girl can SPIKE
Viper
she took every ap science class offered without taking the general ones first
she complains about getting any grade below an A...
"What are you talking about? That test was easy"
sorry not everyone is as smart as you Sabine 😑
she spends all her free time at chem tutoring (even though she doesn't need it)
Yoru
he thinks he looks cool and mysterious when he walks down the halls but he doesn't
everyone just thinks his mad all the time and stay out of his way 😭
randos try to pick fights with him bc he "looked at them wrong" (Yoru wins every time)
he's not exactly a 'quiet kid' but he does lay low when it comes to the social part of school
despite his 'bad boy' look, he has pretty good grades
he's also probably one of those guys that a handful of girls have a crush on but he has no idea

Radiant Recruit (Valorant x Reader)
Name: Y/N
Class: Radiant
Callsign - Nomad
You had been at odds with Kingdom for causing your abilities, and saw Valorant as nothing more than another group trying to reign you in.  Your power store radiant energy and unleash it proved difficult to contain.  Even worse, you could turn to pure energy and phase away.  It was a trick you used to escape Valorant time and time again.  Where you came from was only for you to know, until you were captured.
Tumblr media
(An idea of what Nomad can do // source: Infamous: Second Son)
Fade
Tumblr media
“Stop Y/N!  There’s no place you can run to that I won’t find you!”  Fade yelled down the hallway.  She had you cornered in Bind, inside the Kingdom refinery
“Leave me ALONE!” you screamed, unleashing a wave of radiant power at nearby pipes.  Steam filled the hall and you sprinted further away
A screech behind you caught your attention as one of Fade’s nightmares spotted you.  A terror trail led from your feet
Snarling prowlers rushed towards you and lunged.  You raised a hand and blasted them as they pinned you down
One sunk its teeth into your leg and darkness filled your vision.  Whispers surrounded you as memories of Kingdom spying on you resurfaced
Radiant power surged into your eyes before blasting through your body.  In your fear, you burnt through the last reserves of energy
Suddenly a voice cut through the chaos
“I have you now, ”
Weak sparks shot from your palm in an attempt to block the ball of tendrils Fade tossed at your feet
Seized by her power, unable to destroy the bindings, you found yourself resorting to struggling against the tethers
Fade took a Sheriff from its holster, the gunmetal gleaming in the red alarm lights.  She began to raise it upward towards you
Then turned and emptied the cylinder, catching the bullets and storing them in a pocket
“Valorant is not what you think, we are trying to do something important for the world!”
“So was Kingdom, I don’t care about what your cause is.”
“I was where you are right now, Y/N.  I was hunted by Valorant too.”  Fade’s tone softened
“What are you talking about?” You were slightly intrigued
“I…blackmailed them.  They sent a squad to catch me and could’ve killed me.  They gave me a home instead.  I trust them.”
“Prove it, how do I know you aren’t lying to get my guard down.”
“You can’t, but you have my word that we will let you go if you want to leave.” She reached a hand to you.  “Deal?”
Against your better judgment you decided to come along.  In an hour you were being flown to a remote island in the middle of nowhere
“So you know my name, but what’s yours?”
“Hazal.  Memnun oldum.”
Hazal sat with you, either for security or reassurance, in the conference room with Brimstone
“Y/N, I apologize for the methods we used but Valorant doesn’t have time for delicate approaches.  Fade has first hand experience with that.”
“I didn’t offer you another choice Brimstone,” Hazal seemed to feel some regret
“We wanted to get your help with Omega Earth,” he directed you to a hologram that showed all current information
It was unnerving, the doppelgangers and your personal clone trying to destroy the world.  The situation didn’t leave you feeling like you could run away
“So…are you in Y/N?”
“Count me in,” you went over to shake Brimstone’s hand.  He took it and handed you a keycard to your room
“You’re part of Valorant now Y/N.”  Brimstone nodded to Fade and you exited the room with her
“You’ll be assigned a callsign Y/N,”  Fade said as she led you to your quarters.  “Did you have anything in mind?”
“Uh, I guess we should figure it out while we have time.”  Your opened the door to your room and took a seat on the bed
Fade took a seat at your desk, looking around at the sparse interior before settling on you
“Y/N, what do you think about going by Nomad?  It would fit, don't you think?”
Iso
Tumblr media
“Oh shi-” you were surprised by a bullet ricocheting past you and putting a hole in the elevator controls
“Nice try Y/N, but you aren’t getting out of here unless you come with me.”  Iso chambered another round.  “Or else.”
“Go to hell!” you triggered a maelstrom of energy inside your body.  Radiant pulses fired from you and Iso lept to cover
Shifting into energy, you charged straight at him, ready to plant your glowing fists directly into his face
Hexagons spilled out under your feet.  Violet light blinded you before placing you into a strange space made of similar shapes
“You’re all mine Y/N.” a familiar voice echoed.  Iso had somehow captured you
The structures around you disappeared and a single shot rang out against the silence of the realm you were in
A bullet hit your chest, but the ballistic plate underneath stopped it.  It didn’t stop the force from slamming into you though
“Y/N, I admire your spirit but you lost this fight.  I won’t hurt you, I just want to show you what Valorant is trying to do.”
“And if I refuse?”
“You won’t leave here.  Ever.”
He wasn’t bluffing, but he didn’t seem like he wanted to condemn you to that fate either.  His aim was steady but his eyes were more focused on your response
“I’ll go with you, but if you try anything you’ll regret it.”
Iso sighed something in Mandarin
Purple energy wrapped you and placed you back in the building.  Iso waited for you to get to your feet and led you at gunpoint
The elevator controls were shot, so you and Iso took stairs to the roof.  When you arrived at the helipad, the VTOL was just landing
“Remember, I can trap you at anytime Y/N.  Don’t try to escape until we get to the island and we brief you.”  Iso was dead serious
He left you in the cargo hold of the VTOL while it took off.  He returned later on his phone and looked over at you
“Any requests for music?  I don’t like silence.”  Iso pointed at the phone
“(Your favorite artist).”
“I have a playlist for them, tell me what you think.”
The ride to the HQ was more pleasant than you expected
Subsequently, you were lead to a room with the leader of Valorant for more information
Brimstone finished explaining the situation.  Needless to say the Omega Earth version of you destroying city blocks was a frightening prospect
“Y/N, if you help us out you’ll be giving us the advantage.  We can let you go but we can’t guarantee your mirror won’t try to come after you.”
“I’ll join your protocol if it means I can protect people from my double.”
“Welcome to the fight Y/N.  Iso, take Y/N to the armory and get them fitted for their gear and run a basic shooting test.”  Brimstone shook you hand warmly
Iso and you walked down the hall, passing a few other agents that gave you a wave or raised an eye at your presence
Once you were in the armory, Iso went over ballistics and you did some basic target practice
“Y/N, have you given any thought to your callsign?”  Iso finished marking your grade in a tablet
“Not really, I do want something that sounds good and makes sense.”  you placed your rifle down and began a field strip test
“Since you were constantly on the run, how does Nomad work for you?”  He raised the tablet with the name entered in
“Sounds good.”
“I can’t wait to work with you, Nomad.” Iso nodded to you and handed you a magazine
Viper
Tumblr media
“Oh Y/N it’s precious that you think you can hide from me, but I like games of cat and mouse.”  Viper purred as you crept around Icebox
The woman had managed to cut off every escape from you, a fact she reveled in
“I assume you’re thinking that if you attack me, you can shut the toxins off and leave.” she was trying to draw you out, so you continued to sneak around
Viper turned and left
Green fog began to empty from the vents everywhere, catching you off guard.  It was then you realized she had been waiting for the toxins to get in the system
“Is it hard to breathe?  Try not to die before I find you, I don’t want to explain that to Brimstone.”
Coughing loudly, you attempted to crawl away as vertigo set in.  The toxins smelled like acetone mixed with acrid sweetness
Viper’s silhouette appeared as you lost consciousness.  Her figure towered above you as your eyes shut
“You’re awake, good.  I need you to listen to me Y/N, can you do that?”  Viper had unmasked and was now looking you directly in the eye
You nodded your head weakly while taking account of your surroundings.  Toxins had rendered your powers and muscles useless
“What do you want from me?” you hissed
“Join Valorant, we could use your-”
“NOBODY’S using me.” you spat back.  Viper glared at you
She removed a vial of poison and opened it.  She tilted the glass over your head, letting a drop hang over your eye
“Don’t interrupt me,” Viper narrowed her gaze, “Understood?”
“I’d rather die than be some kind of weapon for a bunch of sociopaths.”
“You aren’t in a position to argue, but we are going to play nice and show you the protocol.”
“Easy to do when I’m your prisoner.”
“Exactly Y/N.”
Minutes later you were being flown somewhere new, but had no idea what was waiting for you once you regained your motor functions
Viper and Brimstone sat with you, going over confidential files on Omega Earth and their agents.  It was shocking to your face among them as well
“We know they’ll end up using your mirror against us, so we need all the support we can get.”  Brimstone passed a keycard to you
You took it and shook his hand
“I’ll take Y/N to the medical wing and run biometrics so we can plan countermeasures against their double.”  Viper motioned for you to join her
The biometrics were mainly just scans and a blood test, but Viper took time to explain what each piece would be used for
“Y/N, you need a callsign for me to enter your information under.  Any ideas?”
“Not really.  I guess there’s the fact I was always escaping, that could be something.”
“Well you didn’t escape me,” Viper smugly raised an eyebrow.  “But I do like that idea, how about Nomad?”
“I like that, it sounds mysterious.”
“Perfect, now let's get you to your quarters and finish the tour so I can get back to my lab.”
“Can I see the lab?”
“No.”
Neon
Tumblr media
“I thought you were supposed to be fast!  So much for the protocol’s ‘Sprinter.” you taunted as you sped away down a street in your energy form
Neon trailed behind you, each pace pulsing with electricity.  She had almost caught you but a quick energy burst saved you
Now it was a matter of running, which was easy for you to do because you could move through obstacles
That was your thought until you ran out of radiant power in the middle of the street
“Slow huh?” Neon was on you quickly.  You decided to fight, unleashing what little energy you had left in missiles of force
She dodged and closed the distance, using her speed to shift her target faster than you could aim
In the blink of an eye Neon grabbed your arm.  Volts spasmed down your body, paralyzing you
“No more running Y/N.”  Neon dragged you to the side of the road and away from the public.  She hid you under a bridge, seating you on a bench
“So Valorant sends you to catch me and then what?  Lock me in a cell until you need to destroy something?”
“No, we want you to learn how to control the power before you hurt anyone.”  Neon trailed off, lost in thought
“Do you really control your power or is it just them letting you loose on anyone they want?”  You needled at her doubt
“So you must have lost control at some point then, did they show up and lock you away?  Just like what you want to do to me?”  Provoking her was the only thing you could do
“It wasn’t like that!  They found me…but after I had lost control,”
“Don’t lie to me, they can’t help me and they can’t you either!”
“SHUT UP!”  Sparks scorched the ground near Neon’s legs
Neon’s anger turned to regret “They gave me training for it and helped me make the best of it.”
Neon began to smile a bit as an arc of electricity moved up her hand
“I’m sure we’ll do the same for you.”
Once you could move, you and her walked back to a extraction point
“Do you really think they don’t want to use my power for themselves?  You were sent on this mission right?”
“I volunteered for this, Y/N.  You won’t have to fight unless you want to but we have Radiants that want to help you control your abilities.”
It wasn’t much reassurance without definitive proof, but it was good to hear as you stepped onto the VTOL
“Plus you’ll train with me Y/N.  So I’m hoping you decide to stay with us so we can have a rematch.”
Neon fidgeted in her chair at the conference with Brimstone and Sage.  Reyna stood in the back eying you over and occasionally muttering something in Spanish
“Y/N, your power is going to make the difference in the fight against Omega Earth.  We need you to back us up.”
“I- I want to but I’m not,”
Neon looked over at you and her nervousness switched something in you
“I can get ready for the field.  I’m on board sir.”  Neon relaxed at your response
“Good Y/N, glad to have you here.  We’ll enter some information for your file, in the meantime Neon can show you to the gym for a physical assessment.”
He passed her a tablet
Neon led you around the protocol and took you to the training area.  She took the tablet Brimstone gave her and had you start the tests
It wasn’t a great couple of hours, especially because Neon kept her eyes on you struggling the entire time
Finally the running test came up, and Neon readied a stopwatch
“Y/N, do you want to race?” Neon tossed the stopwatch in the air towards you
“Sure,” you caught the watch and readied it.  “Go!”
She cleared the mile in under 7 minutes without her power before taking the watch
“Beat that Y/N.”
Your mile was about 9 minutes, which was expected from someone who didn’t run often.  Neon did tone her taunting down during the run which was a welcome change
“So…Y/N what callsign do you want?  I have to put one here so what do you want?”
“I don’t really have anything.  I would pick something about running or escaping-” Neon looked up disapprovingly “-but I guess that’s your thing right.”
“Well you aren’t fast, just hard to keep in the same place.  Like a nomad. Oh that could work!”
Neon put down Nomad in name entry
“We even sort of match too.  I like Nomad, enter it in!”  You nodded to her and got ready for the next step in becoming an agent
Reyna
Tumblr media
“Tienes miedo?  I love a good chase Y/N.”  Reyna’s voice barely held her sadistic excitement back
Carefully, you hid behind cover while Reyna stalked through the courtyard of Sunset.  Loading your pistol, you sprang from the cover and opened fire
A glaring eye filled your vision, and you shot blindly at the space.  The bullets dissipated the eye, but Reyna was gone
“I’ve heard so much about you, your power.  Don’t disappoint me.”  Reyna’s skin turned to shadows and glowed with unnatural energy
“I WON’T!” you bellowed.  Particles of radiant energy spiraled around your body and blasted straight through Reyna
She made no effort to dodge your most powerful blast as it corkscrewed into her.  At first you thought she was going to die
It was much more terrifying than that
Reyna walked calmly through the beam toward you, her intangible state keeping her from damage.  The blast lost power and stopped
“Que fuerte, but not enough.”  Reyna grabbed your throat and slammed you to the ground
“If you struggle, I will continue to have fun with you.”  Her grip tightened to emphasize the point
“I’m not joining your damn organization.  You and Kingdom are all the same, just preying on Radiants.”
“QUE DEMONIOS ME DIJISTE?”  Reyna yelled, she drove her nails into your neck.  “I- We are nothing like them.”
Her outrage was enough to quiet you down
“Kingdom is our enemy Y/N, we can bring them down together.  Join me and we will destroy them.”  Reyna reached a hand out
You took it
Reyna leaned in and whispered in your ear
“Somos unido, contra el mundo.  Do not forget they are terrified of us.”
Reyna sat at your side at the table in the conference room.  Brimstone and Sage went over the situation with Omega
“If Omega uses the mirror version of you, we would have a hell of a fight ahead of us without you to help us out.”  Brimstone gave a worried look to the holographic files
“Don’t worry, I’ll join the protocol if I can make a difference.”
“Come with me Y/N, we will see how useful you can be to us.”  Reyna took your arm and moved you to the training room
A few bots appeared and Reyna took a seat
“Go on, end them Y/N.”
It took little effort to turn the bots into scrap metal and burnt plastic.  In your elation, you blasted a hole in the window near Reyna
“Que increible Y/N, you certainly have potential.”  She ran her fingers over the scorch marked bots
“The protocol requires a callsign,” she passed you a tablet with an input.  “I would put in my suggestions but I don’t want to speak for you.”
“Wait, what did you have in mind?” you looked over to Reyna while she leaned against the exit
“Pues, I was thinking something that felt unburdened.  Something freeing.  Viajero, no como se dice,” she paused feeling for the English word, “Nomad.”
“It means someone on the run or that moves around.  That does sound like me.”
“Claro, I think it suits you perfectly Y/N.  Now, let's begin your training and sharpen your strength.”
She sauntered across the room and started up more bots
“Mataremos, Nomad.”  You and Reyna tore into them together
Sage
Tumblr media
“Do not make me pursue you further Y/N, I wish no harm on you.”  Sage cried to you
“Then let me leave,” you readied an energy bolt, “I doubt you could even hurt me!”  You shot, directly into her chest
“So be it.” Sage muttered
Jade, tougher than steel, coated her hands and began to work into her skin.  Life energy flowed in and she rose up
Her skin healed as she charged you.  You burnt through your power to launch a vortex of radiant energy
The sphere engulfed her, but when it passed she was completely gone to your surprise.  A hand landed on your shoulder, then a chop connected to your temple
Sage had catapulted herself over the vortex using her wall, and gotten directly behind you
As a monk, she was adept in martial arts.  It didn’t help that the barrage of fists, palms, and kicks was hard as iron
You tried to swing back, but couldn’t move.  Sage coated you in jade, effectively restraining you with every blow
“Do you doubt I could hurt you now Y/N?”  Sage’s tone was retributive but took satisfaction in her position over you
“I don’t care what you try, you can’t force me to work with Valorant.  You chased me down like an animal, just like Kingdom.”
“We did pursue you Y/N, but we aren’t like Kingdom.  We want to help you, not use you.”
“I’m not interested in what you have to say, I’ll break free eventually.”
“No you won’t, it is unmoving and you are too.  I want you to see what Valorant truly is, not what you think it is.”
“I don’t give a shit what Valorant is, you tracked me and trapped me in this.”
“We tried to bring you in but you refused because you thought we were Kingdom.  I want to prove we’re better than them.”
“By encasing me in rock and hauling me somewhere against my will?  Just like Kingdom tried before?”
“You’d run away otherwise, and I went easy on you.  I could have broken your legs and healed them later, but I wanted you to see we aren’t cruel.”
It was true, she had held back enough not to render you unconscious or cripple you.  Plus she didn’t sound like she was lying, her tone was honest
“I don’t know if I can fully trust you, but if you want to show me Valorant I don’t really have a choice do I?”
“Not particularly, but I promise you are safe while under my watch.”
She had your petrified body loaded onto a VTOL and flown to the HQ
Once you had been briefed, and Sage released you, she passed you a keycard.  Brimstone finished his report on Omega
“Y/N, please lend us your aid.”  Sage pleaded
“I’m in, don’t worry.  I was wrong about you all, I’m happy to join.”
“Sage, take Y/N to the clinic and give them a check up.  I’ll finish Y/N’s file and send word to the agents that we have a new member.”
You and her went over to the clinic and she sat you down on the table before taking a few instruments out
“Y/N, please remove your clothes.” she took a tablet and started marking things as you cautiously took your clothing off.  You blushed the entire time
Sage moved quickly, giving you questions while she looked you over.  She finished her check up and had you dress back up
“Y/N, do not worry I have seen the entire protocol naked.  I am just doing my job.”
“I know, it’s just strange because I don’t know you that well.”
“Then I hope we become close,” Sage smiled at you, “I must ask you about what you want to use for a callsign.”
“I didn’t think about that.  Do you have any ideas?”
Sage responded with a long pause
“I suppose something that suggests your strengths.  You are flexible and spirited.”
“Do you have anything that sounds like either of those?”
“Would you accept Nomad?  It is the word for people that have no single place they call home.”
“Nomad…” you thought about it for a second.
“I love it!”
“Wonderful, now let’s finish your recruitment Nomad.”
Jett
Tumblr media
“I’m not gonna work with the woman that destroyed Venice!” you screamed as you launched a volley of energy at Jett
The backstreets of Split had turned into a storm of bullets and radiant explosions, Jett was lurking in the rafters while you stuck to the ground
She nimbly dashed from cover to avoid the bursts of plasma, then took aim with her Vandal
“Shut up!  You don’t know what you’re talking about!”  Jett’s serious tone cut through the chaos.  Her gun ran dry and she began to reload
“You can’t lie to me!  I’m never joining Valorant!”  A gathering of particles rushed through your hands, charging a pulse of energy that blasted Jett from cover
Her body flew through the air from the force, and you watched with satisfaction.  Then she suspended herself in midair, turning to you
“I’m done with your shit, Y/N.” Jett summoned her knives, and sent them for you
Acting quickly, you used the rest of your energy to blast the knives from their paths.  Each failed to connect as the knives moved on their own, weaving around
Blades sped past you, then sinking into your clothes and pinning you to the ground.  Jett drifted down and knelt next to you, a smug grin painted on her face
“So,” a blade twirled over her finger, “care to correct what you said about me and Venice?”
“I saw the footage, it was you.  I won’t work for people who shelter a monster.”
“IT WASN’T ME!”  Jett’s control slipped and the knife embedded itself next to your neck
“She took everything from me,” a few tears fell down from Jett’s cheek.  “You of all people should know what being slandered feels like!”
It was true Kingdom had done their best to scare the public after they lost track of you, and wasted no time showing how dangerous you were
“You want me to feel bad for you when you’re hunting me like them?  They took so much from me and you’re no different.”
“Y/N, you don’t have anywhere to go.  Valorant stood with me against the world, I stay with them because they know I’m not the enemy.”
Silence gave you time to digest how genuine she was being.  You could see how wounded she was and what Valorant meant to her
“I want them to help you Y/N.  We both had our lives ruined but Valorant is our second chance.”
“I’m not against it, but even if I was you’ve already caught me.”
Jett rolled her eyes and helped you up
“Valorant will help you, it’s like a second family to me.  I hope it becomes that for you too.”
The fact Jett’s double had ruined her life was made clear to you once you were in the care of Valorant
Her anger flared whenever the photo would appear in the report Brimstone gave you.  Wind would pick up in the room, moving papers about
You signed on immediately when you realized that you could make a difference and stop the mirrors from unleashing more Spikes
“Jett, I’m sure Y/N is going to need some help navigating the protocol.  Do you mind giving them a tour of the premises?”
“Yeah, let’s go Y/N.  This place is huge so we should start now.”
You and Jett took a walk through the corridors of Valorant.  Jett took you first to the training room and showed you the scoresheet
“As you can see, I have some high marks but no big deal.”  Jett gloated, making sure a nearby Phoenix could hear here
She took you next to the living quarters and introduced you to Killjoy and Raze, both of whom greeted you excitedly
Jett next took you to the cafeteria, mainly to flex the fact she cooked last night
“I bet you’re hungry after everything, we can probably take a minute here and have some of the chap chae I made.”
You and her reheated the noodles and added some onions and carrots to it
“So Y/N,” Jett practically inhaled her food, “what were you thinking for a codename?”
You finished a bit of food, “I don’t really know what I’d go with.”
“How about Nomad?  I mean it makes sense ‘cause you’re hard to catch.  Plus it sounds cool.”
“It does, we should use that!” you agreed
You and her finished up and cleaned your plates, then finished the tour
“Y/N, Nomad, tomorrow Phoenix, Neon, and I are gonna get together for movie night.  You should totally join us!”
“I’ll be there!”
Deadlock
Tumblr media
“Don’t try and run Y/N, you can’t escape me.”  Deadlock’s eyes trained on you, watching for any movement
She had you at gunpoint, pointing a Phantom at your chest ready to fire.  Her finger was slightly above the trigger
“Nobody is taking me prisoner!” you shouted before leaping out of the way and phasing into energy
Deadlock fired through you, the bullets disintegrating as they passed through you.  You sprinted through a wall and detransformed
That wasn’t so bad you thought to yourself as you began to make your way across the room you had entered
A beeping noise caught your attention as you exited, you searched for its source.  Then you looked to your left and saw the Sound Sensor
It concussed you and sent you reeling into the main room of the Kingdom outpost.  You spotted the exit on the second floor and dashed up the stairs
“YOU’RE NOT LEAVING MY TERRITORY Y/N!” a yell caught you off guard.  A blue string floated in front of your face for a single second
Then an onslaught of fibres wrapped your arms and legs, restraining you.  You did everything you could to escape but it was too late
The cocoon floated somewhere, but a brief minute later you felt yourself being picked up and carried outside
Bitter cold crept in through the gaps in the nanowire, causing you to shiver.  Then you felt yourself being rested on snow
A knife cut through the web, a centimeter from your face.  It opened your face up to the chilling weather and Deadlock’s stoic expression
“Are you cold?  You keep moving like you’re shivering.”  Her voice was flat, unbothered by the freezing winds
“I-I’m f-f-fine, I don’t, n-need any he-help.” you did your best not to let her notice your teeth chattering
“You are an awful liar, we’re going back to the station.” Deadlock began a march back and threw you over her shoulder
“Put me down!”
“You’ll freeze Y/N, I don’t want you to get frostbite.”
“Why?  You opened fire at me why does it matter if I get cold?”
“I know you don’t deserve to suffer out here, and I didn’t shoot to kill.  Valorant sent me to collect you but we won’t mistreat you.”
“You’re part of Kingdom, I know you are.”
“I’m not, when our extraction arrives we’ll take you to our headquarters and you can see that we have your best interests at heart.”
You went silent, confused at the fact she was taking you back to the outpost instead of directly to her allies.  It wasn’t something a typical mercenary or Kingdom would do
“How long until they arrive?”
“A few minutes from now.”  Deadlock shut the door and laid you against a wall near a heating vent
“Rest Y/N, I don’t want you to freeze.”
Hours later, you were in the tropics at the Valorant HQ
You exited Brimstone’s office with a newfound appreciation for Valorant.  Your Mirror concerned both you and the agents around you
Brimstone had finished signing you up with the protocol, and you agreed to go to the armory to get an idea of what you would be training with
Deadlock led you through the headquarters, giving you a brief tour of the base before stopping at the weapon room
“Y/N, we are going to go over weaponry while the others finish notifying the protocol about you and readying your quarters.”  Deadlock handed you a Guardian
“Take it and see how it feels.”  She watched you explore the rifle and attempt to take it apart.  Field stripping was not your strength
Deadlock began to help you, as well as go over the rest of the armory’s collection.  You learned how to clean the guns which seemed to be enough for Deadlock
“I’ll have a kit sent to your room, but I have to ask what were you thinking for a code name?”
“Codename?”
“Every agent gets one, so we have to assign you one.”  She referred to her own ID card and took a seat at the firing range
“Come on, I don’t have the slightest idea of what to put for one.  What would you put?”
Looking upwards in thought, Deadlock paused for a second before meeting your gaze
“They gave me my name because I can stall the enemy.  You specialize in moving and being unpredictable.”
You nodded in agreement
“Perhaps, Nomad?” Deadlock shrugged her shoulders
“You know that sounds good.  Put Nomad as my codename please.”  You felt the name around a bit before settling into the callsign
“Hey Deadlock,”
“Yes?”
“Thank you for the name and for not letting me freeze.”
“It was no trouble at all.”

I feel like there's an under-explored dichotomy in the valorant lore between the tech-users and the radiants with regards to choice. Sova, Deadlock, Chamber, etc. all chose their fields of study and/or combat. They have made themselves into soldiers, into walking weapons, because they wanted to or thought it was the best option for them. They have different reasons for doing so, but they all chose those paths.
The radiants didn't. Jett is a good example. So is Neon. It's implied that Jett accidentally left a trail of destruction in her wake because she couldn't control her powers, and Neon needs a pretty beefy suit to keep her powers in check. She risks casually electrocuting everyone without it. (This is, incidentally, part of why I think Chamber and Neon don't get along. Chamber created his powers and tailored them to himself. Neon didn't have that luxury and resents being viewed as a power source. That's a separate post though). It's sort of tragic, because you can kind of tell that a lot of the radiants, younger or otherwise, have been messed up by it. They're loners, or socially awkward, or lived in small, obscure parts of the world where they could train. Or they're like Reyna, who faced human experimentation and violence from the Kingdom corporation. They all have to fight, regardless of whether or not they want to. Most of them have learned to enjoy it, or at least live with it, but I think it's pretty clear that some -- if not many -- of them would rather live their days in peace. Gekko. Sage. Jett.
idk. I feel like there's gotta be a fundamental difference in how the agents view their duties based on whether or not they're radiant. something something born great vs achieved greatness vs greatness thrust upon you. lots of thoughts

One Hazy Winter [Iso x F! Reader] [End]
[ Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4 / Part 5 / Part 6 / Part 7 ]
Genre: Angst, fluff ‎
Words: 3k ‎
Synopsis: One winter before his disappearance, you told your boyfriend Yu about a question you’ve had for so long; one even he could hardly respond to. It took many more hopeless winters for you to finally have your answer.‎
Note: Please don't copy or steal my work and pass it off as your own! If you'd like to use one of my headcanons or something, I'd love it if you tagged or asked.
We're done with Iso!! As per the vote, I'm moving on to Yoru once everything's ready. And man is he as painful to write as I remember haha
。+❤ฺ·。❤ฺ·。+❤ฺ· +❤·。❤ฺ·。+❤ฺ·
Spring, present day.
ㅤㅤ
It took you a long while to decide on whether that was one of the worst or best months of your life.
On one hand, you came back with a quarter of the harvest you were supposed to get, and you had to wait for a while until your lemon trees would bear fruit once more. That, and working with only thirteen lemons turned out to be much more difficult than you thought when it comes to baking.
And on the other hand, it was fun attempting to come up with workarounds with Ying. That, and you woke up the next morning with a new sensation that wrapped around you like a clingy lover. And it wasn't anything like the miserable pessimism you hauled around, or like the apathy that…
No, no. It was apathy.
But a more positive kind of apathy. One that beckoned you to come to terms with many dilemmas in your mind. One of them being that winter was just... winter. A season. And like every other season, it had its ups and downs. It wasn't some omnipresent being out to get you, or whatever.
And quite frankly, this apathy was the best feeling you've ever had in a long... well, in your entire life. You woke up looking forward to the day, with a desire to actually get things going.
And that's exactly what you did.
You spent the past three months selling those plants back in your apartment at that nursery, you made friends with that lady who recommended you do such a thing, and now you were back at Yu’s house to check in on your growing orange trees. Heck, Yu’s neighbours even started greeting you whenever you came by.
They definitely saw you carrying the baskets of fruit and wanted some. Maybe you should use this wealthy neighbourhood to your advantage, you mused.
Ying called you earlier and mentioned discussing the state of her café with you since she had ‘more important matters to get to’. And you didn’t really mind, despite still being a mere barista, but she said she’d discuss the details by afternoon… But the location? Yeah, she promised she’d get back to you on that after she’d decided.
You moved down the short corridor, your eyes taking a moment to adjust to the strong rays that poured through the windows of the doors. The darkness around you did not help ease the pain of such a bright light. But even then, you wrapped your free hand around the handle and forced the door open, allowing the brightness to finally balance itself out.
You noticed something yellow out of the corner of your eye. And you would’ve dismissed it if you hadn’t turned to look at what it was. It was… inside the basket. There was one Meyer lemon, probably from that harvest months ago that the two of you missed. It kind of made sense that you’d forget it. You haven’t really visited this house after that day, not with the ongoing streak of snowstorms. And, you know, Ying’s persistence on keeping you safe.
Your thoughts were interrupted by the buzzing of a nearby mosquito. And immediately, you dropped the watering can and crushed the bug, instantly killing it. Now that you considered it, the one good thing about winter was the lack of annoying insects. That, and the fact it helped plants rejuvenate after a harvest, and that it kept earth’s temperature in check, and…
No, nevermind. You didn’t want to be warming up to winter. Pun intended.
You moved back towards your growing orange trees and observed their shape for a moment. And like the row of lemon trees right behind them, they looked as otherworldly as they were. The white flowers on it looked even prettier under the sunlight’s strong glare. Much prettier than in the winter, but they both had their charm. Super photogenic.
Just as you grabbed the watering can up from the ground, your phone vibrated with an embarrassingly loud ringtone, and you pulled it out of your pocket only to discover that Ying was calling. At the worst time as well, you thought as you answered and held up the device to your ear.
"Hi."
"Y/N, I've decided!"
Her voice took you by surprise more than the ensemble of loud chirping birds around you.
"Decided?"
"We're going to meet up on the bridge. Do you remember it?"
You kept the phone held up against your ear with your shoulder, grabbing one branch and gently pushing it aside so that the water from your can could reach every crevice of the tree.
"The bridge...?"
"Yes! I was told it looks ethereal in the spring, and it truly does! Ah, and it's closer to the train station than I thought. We can use it as a landmark for when we leave. What do you think?"
You continued watering in silence for a moment. It looks ethereal in the spring? Who the heck told her that?
Whatever, it wasn’t your job to question everything.
"That can work. When do I come by?"
"Actually, I'm already here."
You immediately stopped watering.
"Already? Ying, the least you could've done was give me a heads up."
“I’m sorry, but I have something scheduled for sundown! I’ll see you there, okay? I promise you, it’ll be worth it!”
She closed the call before you could retort.
She was probably going to promote you or straight up just hand you the café. What with how busy she was starting to get and how much she disappeared, it wouldn’t surprise you if it turned out to be actually that. You didn’t really mind taking control of the café, now that you thought about it… Oh, but the idea of dealing with your co-workers’ minute problems sounded like pure torture.
You sighed and continued watering your plants in silence, quickening your pace so that you’d be able to make it to her in time.
It took you a while, but eventually, you made it. And the only guidance you used was the pitter patter of the children’s feet as they ran around and cackled, alongside the melodic chirping of the birds. The bus left a trail of smoke as it sped off, but this one mild inconvenience was immediately drowned out by the sight before you.
Ying was right, the place looked like paradise on Earth now that it was spring.
The waters were crystal clear, the trees were full of life and the grass on the ground vibrated with an enigmatic amount of cheerfulness. Almost like they were harmoniously swaying to a tune you couldn’t hear. Had someone taken a picture of this place, you would’ve convinced yourself it was just editing and that there was no way Earth would look like this.
But it did, you mused as you approached the bridge.
It didn’t take long for you to arrive at a comfortable spot and rest your arms on the warm railing. Thankfully, despite your short height, the railings weren’t too tall and your loose clothes allowed you maximum flexibility to peer through to catch a glimpse of the waters. Short enough for you to be able to comfortably lean on it, but not so short children could fall down.
Your eyes were firmly fixated on the lake. And for the first time in so long, you felt... content.
You still didn't know what your goal in life was. You still didn't know why you should keep going, among many other questions like that. But all you knew was that the path your life headed in... Well, you didn’t want to change anything about it.
What would tomorrow look like? You pondered with a fond smile, holding up the Meyer lemon just above the lake and allowing the sun's light to shine in on it. And it beamed. It beamed with celestial beauty unfathomable to the human mind.
This was your harvest.
You put down the lemon with an even wider smile and stared at the lake instead, the fish that swam by. Tomorrow sounded amazing, now that you thought about it.
And you looked forward to it.
"Y/N?"
A soft voice promptly came up from behind you. You sighed and stuffed the lemon back into your pockets, before turning around to meet her gaze.
"What took you so long? I thought you were in a hurry–"
The moment you locked gazes with a familiar pair of lilac eyes, your breathing hitched, and time stood still.
It took a moment to comprehend that this person wasn’t Ying. It wasn’t Ying at all. It was… You felt your heart drop as you rapidly looked the figure up and down.
Broad shoulders, purple eyes, black hair, tall stature…
It was Yu. He stood only a few feet away from you; and he donned a meticulously designed hoodie with collars tall enough to conceal the lower portion of his face. One you had never seen before.
The words were lodged in your throat. Scratch that, no, your mind went completely blank, and the world felt like it started breaking apart.
“Yu…”
"Y/N, I..." He took a step forward, the floorboards audibly creaking under his weight. "I'm so sorry."
His voice had a sombre undertone. Slight and drowned out by the mirth that surrounded the both of you, but it was still telling. It was one that successfully let you know that he drowned in regret, all without saying a single word.
And yet, you still weren't sure how to feel about this. Sad? Happy? Furious? The second option was the most obvious one in your mind, but for the love of God, you just couldn’t form a single thought in your head. Heck, you couldn’t even comprehend the situation in general. All you knew was that Yu was here. And that was… No, wrong wasn’t the word.
His hand gently clasped your shoulder, and a familiar warmth landed alongside it.
"I'm sorry it took so long, but I- I was caught up in so many things, and it all just..."
He then pulled you into a hug. Your cheek slammed against his chest, the impact only cushioned by his thick hoodie.
"I missed you."
You didn't react.
For a few seconds, you stood there with a stiff posture as you stared into space, unsure whether you should return the hug or just stay silent and not do anything. This whole situation felt unreal. It felt like one of those hyper realistic dreams your brain would conjure up whenever it decided it wanted to escape your pitiful life, but that sprinkle of hope always scattered the moment you woke up. But it wasn't. In fact, he stood right there, the familiar scent of lemons taking over your nostrils on account of how close he was.
Yu was here… He was present. He came back.
Though you shut your eyes as hard as you could, tears still formed against your will, and they were quick to stream down your cheeks.
"Where..." you started, "Where were you...?"
You weakly pulled away, but Yu still kept you in his grip. And you immediately took this chance to observe him all over again despite your incredibly blurry vision. It was as if those years had never passed given his features. He still had that same enchanting face, and those pretty lilac eyes that always tore away at your stress with just one glance.
"After all this time..."
You held his cheek and caressed it. His pale skin yielded under your touch, and the palm of your hand outlined the sharp structure of his jaw. The softness of his skin, the flicker of vulnerability in his eyes juxtaposed to his stony expression… All of it was all so familiar.
"Why did you leave me, Yu?"
"I'm– I'm sorry, Y/N. It wasn't my choice. If I could take it all back, I would–"
"Why did you leave me?!"
You burst into tears and clutched his hoodie, burying your head in his chest.
"I thought you were dead! I– I thought that– I thought... I thought I lost you...!"
Out of pure instinct, Yu was quick to bring you closer and tightly hold you in his arms.
"I'm here, I'm here, okay? Nobody's dead."
"I thought you died, Yu! I thought you were dead, I– thought you were..."
Your sobs and nonsensical babbles continued. It was all the same repetitive questions about his well being, and more specifically, how you thought he was dead. Each sentence you managed to complete felt like another blade plunging his heart, only further drowning him in guilt.
And unfortunately for him, the only thing Yu knew to do in this situation was hold you and gently caress your back.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I– I should've explained it all from the beginning. But I... didn't want to lose you if I ever did."
He knew how stupidly soft you made him. How he'd stutter when speaking to you, and how wide his smile had gotten when you two first hugged, your arms squishing his thick white hoodie just to reach his form. The same hoodie he spent hours washing blood off of the night before.
Maybe he should've told you.
"I thought you were dead, I– I thought... that gun, you–"
Though you followed these loosely strung sentences with a curse, one specific word successfully pierced his bubble.
"Gun? What gun?"
This question seemed to bring you back as well. You pulled away, and just the sight of your red cheeks and shimmering eyes, aching with raw emotion, all of it was enough for him to understand how much this impacted you.
"I saw that gun. N– next to that medallion." You furrowed your brow, the sun sharply highlighting your tear-stricken face. "Is that it? Are you in a gang, Yu? Is that what you couldn't tell me?!"
"No! I– I wasn't in a gang, Y/N. It's..."
Yu's gaze fell. Unintentionally, he instead eyed your trembling hands.
He couldn’t hide this anymore, could he?
"I– I'm... Look, as unbelievable as this sounds, I– I was a… I was a hitman."
"...You were what? A hitman?!"
"Yeah. I… That’s the truth."
You narrowed your eyes. It really was unbelievable. How could someone like him be capable of killing someone? No, not someone, but people? And for a job?! You would’ve labelled him a liar if it weren’t for that blasted gun.
Then, a name popped up in your mind, one that seemed to support this idea.
"Iso...?"
He went blank for a moment.
"...That's, uh, no, that's a code name. I switched to a profession less... suffocating. That's what they call me now."
"Ying was in on this?"
Yu's face blanched. But quickly, he held your hand and firmly kept it in your grip.
"She was my only way of knowing you were alive! There wasn't any– Y/N, look, none of this should've happened, I know I should've been honest from the beginning, but I didn't want you to leave if I ever told you!” His eyes darted elsewhere. “Ying wasn’t happy when she found out, but I–"
"I’m not like her! I never would've gone anywhere! You could've been the devil and I still would've stayed because I wouldn’t have kept going if you weren’t there!” You furrowed your brow. ”But that's not the case anymore. I still love you, but I know what I deserve, Yu. I know I deserve a relationship that isn't... one-sided..."
You suddenly choked on your words. Yet, he was quick to respond when he could.
"But we can have that, Y/N! We can start anew, no more secrets. Nothing between us, okay? Nothing but the truth. Just, please..." he squeezed your trembling hand, "give me one more chance. I promise I'll make you the happiest woman on Earth."
Tears began to flow once more, tracing the same path as the ones that had dried out mere seconds ago.
For a moment, your eyes slammed shut, and you used this pause to both catch your breath and comprehend the situation. It was hard to make a decision. Sure, you were unbelievably mad at everything. At Ying, at Yu, at the world, and especially those people who held Yu hostage, if his words were to be believed.
But, Hitman…? It sounded so unbelievable. Yu was just way too kind and pacifistic to commit murder. It sounded impossible.
Almost mechanically, You rested your head on his chest, lying limp as he wrapped his arms around you. The lack of aversion on your side registered as permission for him to hold you. Not that he still didn't remain incredibly cautious.
"Happiest woman on Earth..."
You muttered ponderously to yourself. You were already happy. But you knew you’d be happier with him. Even after everything that happened, you missed having him by your side again. You missed his curious little questions about things you considered mundane, and that endearing look of realisation as you explained it to him…
Then, a smile lifted your lips.
"I missed you, Yu." You hugged him back. "From now on, you’ll be honest with me. About everything."
Being this close to him, you felt the jump in his palpitations as he registered these words.
"I will! I will. I promise."
You closed your eyes, allowing the familiar scent of lemons to enter your nostrils and put your mind at ease once more. The two of you stayed like this for a second. It felt like this embrace’s sole purpose was to make up for how much you two missed each other. Of course, he knew he would’ve lost a bit of his sanity had he not known about your whereabouts, but he also knew that saying that probably… Maybe it’s best to keep quiet. Thank God for Ying’s updates…
Then, his eyes shot open at the mention of the healer.
“Hey, let’s go home. I have so much to tell you.”
You pulled away and wiped your cheek once more, noticing the eagerness etched on his features. You nodded.
“I’d like that.”
With that, he held your hand and helped you stand up, and the two of you began walking away from the bridge. His thumb promptly began tracing the lines on your palm all on its own. And of course, you couldn’t help but wistfully smile at this familiar
Despite everything, you couldn’t truly hate this man, no matter how much you knew you had to. You just wanted to know how this gentle giant was supposedly a hitman.
You rested your head on his shoulder as you moved.

Every single agent knows at least basic sign language. Mainly for mission situations where they can't talk.
If you held a gun to neon's head and asked her to solve a math question, she'd tell you to pull the trigger.
Omen has knitted a little sweater for wingman.
Everyone avoids Jett when she's sick. Her sneezes will send you flying.
Same thing for neon but she accidentally electrocutes you 💀
Skye makes wood carvings of her animal friends
Harbour is the type to say "you ladies alright?"
During her childhood, raze took things apart to study how they worked. Clocks, extension cables, etc...
Due to a past mishap, gekko and clove are officially banned from the protocol's kitchen.
Sage texts with perfect grammer and punctuation. She has never missed a full stop or a comma.
Cypher has a box filled with his wedding ring, pictures of his family and familiar children's toys.
Phoenix wears a bonnet to sleep
Clove has a kindle they love reading books and fanfics on.

Valorant Agents on Their Day Off
Brimstone implements a mandatory day off for each agent. No work is to be done on that day, and agents are encouraged to take advantage of this.
See below the cut for all agents
Brimstone: Despite the fact this was his idea, he’s one of the most reluctant agents to actually take his day off. There’s always too much to keep track of- missions, agent shenanigans… He’s only going to take his day off if he’s sure nothing bad will happen, and leave the Protocol in the capable hands of Viper and Sage.
Breach: Man is absolutely pumped to find out it’s his day off tomorrow. You bet he’s gonna drink the night away, knowing there’ll be no repercussions in the morning!… well, aside from a hangover. But he’s going to be noisy as hell all night, so other agents are encouraged to wear earplugs if they plan on getting sleep the night before his day off.
Astra: Oh you KNOW she is making plans the second she finds out when her day off is. She might even encourage Neon or Raze to ditch their training that day to go out with her for a few hours, assuming they aren’t being sent out on a mission. Near the end of her day off, she’ll dedicate some time to meditating and treating herself to some desserts from the VP’s kitchen.
Jett: She’s the first to be given her day off. As a result, she probably gloats to Phoenix and Yoru about her upcoming day off, claiming that she ‘earned it’ with her badass moves in the field, thinking she got it for impressing Brim. She’s quickly humbled upon finding out she isn’t the only one. Regardless, she’ll still probably spend the day with Phoenix when he’s not busy, watching movies, binge watching shows, and even brainstorming some future pranks to pull.
Chamber: The marksman is one of the more difficult agents to convince to take a break. He’s dedicated to working on his guns any free time he’s given- but at what point is he just continuously working? Brimstone ordered Chamber to take his day off, and forbid him from entering his workshop for any reason that day. He tried not to act too bothered by it, but Chamber was rather fidgety without occupying his mind with his guns. So instead, he opts to do research on how to improve his guns, and spend the time during meals watching soap operas. What? He loves the dramatics.
Gekko: He’s hyped, man. He calls up his mom to let her know he’s gonna drop by, and spend the day with his little buddies. Spend a few hours with his mom, helping out around the house like the good son he is- then walking the neighbourhood, getting boba… and trying to keep his creatures out of trouble. He just goes with the flow of the day, skateboarding around and letting the world decide what he does. And today? He’s getting ramen.
Omen: He’s… hesitant to take a day off. Not because he’s worried about being needed during a mission per se… but more-so because he doesn’t know what to do with himself. There’s only so much knitting he can do in a single day… and that’s bound to get boring at some point. Neon suggests he tries some other crafts or hobbies on his day off, so he dons a disguise, and visits a craft store. He buys more yarn, and picks up a few new crafts to do. Some diamond paintings, a sticker book or two… though he takes a liking to photography, with disposable cameras.
Viper: Another case of ‘workaholic doesn’t want to take a break’. The only way she’s taking a break is if Brimstone orders her to, otherwise she’s not taking it by herself. Similarly to Chamber, she’s banned from her lab for the day… so she decides to go visit a reptile sanctuary. She spends the day observing the different scaled creatures, taking notes and even sketching a few out if they inspire ideas for potential weapons. She’s of course drawn in by the snakes, and spends the most time watching them in fascination. She’ll end the day by ordering in something for herself and watching a documentary or two.
Reyna: She laughs when she’s told to take a day off- only to realize… Brim was being serious. It would take her awhile to figure out what to do that whole day… but after asking for advice from Sage and Skye, Reyna is convinced to try going to a spa. It’s a very different experience for her, but she does her best to actually relax and be pampered. It’s not something she would try again unless she had company… but she can’t deny how rejuvenated she felt afterwords. Reyna and Sage make plans to take a spa day together at some point in the near future.
Sage: Being the self-case wizard she is, Sage is probably the most normal about taking a break. She tends to her small garden during the day, treats herself to a nice bath… diffuser for oils, relaxing music- the whole nine yards. She’s almost entirely non-contact, with the only difference being Skye, who would bring her tea every so often or ask for quick advice on how to treat a certain injury. The next day, Sage is glowing with energy and extra cheerful.
Yoru: He’s immediately leaving the base the second he can. Grabs his motorcycle, and drives out to the highway- doesn’t turn back. He’ll never admit it, but the poor guy is pretty homesick. He misses the cherry blossoms of Tokyo. The hustle and bustle of the city… the authentic food. He doesn’t have time to go home, so he does the next best thing. Yoru rides into the nearest city, and has a night on the town. People watching, trying different hole-in-the-wall food places, maybe some random shopping? If he’s in a particularly good mood and sees something in a shop window that reminds him of an agent from the protocol… he’ll buy it and keep it stashed in his room as a birthday present for them. He’ll say it was just some junk he found laying around his room… best not question him too much on it.
Phoenix: This guy is getting into all kinds of mischief. Nothing illegal, of course… but he’s definitely hitting up a night club or two, talking to girls (and boys, let’s be honest). He’d find a clique of cool people to hang with, and spend the night riding around town with them. By the end of the evening, he’d probably have made good friends with his new posse, and most likely hangs out with them when he can outside of work hours on weekends. He most definitely gets a little too drunk and does some mild trespassing and messy parkour… and also ends up being everyone’s collective cigarette lighter. But a cigarette lighter everyone loves. Life of the party.
Killjoy: Tell her to stay out of her lab, and you have a German storm coming. She’ll argue as best she can, but she can’t do much to sway Brimstone. Since she can’t actively work on her tech, she grabs a notebook and sketches out some designs for new projects for the future… upgrades to current utility, anything. She has too many ideas and can’t be left to sit alone with them. By the evening, she’s gonna be pretty burnt out and have a sore wrist from all that writing… so she might invite Raze to grab dinner with her. The two will discuss potential upgrades for their current projects before Killjoy inevitably falls asleep. She’ll wake up in her bed, not knowing how she got there… and probably forget her day off even happened.
Raze: She’s similar to Phoenix in the sense that she wants to go out and do something fun. She’ll pack some spray paint and go out to find a place to tag or do art on; usually old, abandon buildings… since she’d gotten an earful from Viper the day she got caught tagging a building in the city and had to get bailed out by the Protocol. Turns out graffiti is illegal! Who knew? Raze didn’t! But she’s careful now, and really enjoys expressing herself freely. Might buy herself a large canvas so she can spray paint some stuff back at HQ. Just as long as she doesn’t make a mess.
Sova: The most difficult bastard to convince to take a break, good god. It would take a solid hour of arguing for him to finally concede defeat and agree to the break; ONLY under the conditions that Brimstone will promise to call him to action if they need him. Thankfully it doesn’t come to that, but Sova still spends the day prepared to be sent to a site at any second. He’s not the best at relaxing, and hasn’t done it in years. Still, he’ll make an effort. He calls his babushka, and talk to her for hours if he can. He’ll sit in his bed and journal, or go out hunting in the evening.
Neon: It was probably her idea to give the agents a day off. Though since her powers can be a tad unstable at times, it’s unlikely the protocol will want her leaving the HQ on her own. Not that she minds. She’s most likely spending the day hanging out with Phoenix and Jett when they aren’t busy training, or binge watching some shows she’d been meaning to catch up on. Might join Raze in whatever shenanigans she’s gotten herself into. Might also bother Sage a little bit during the day if she’s bored and wants ideas.
KAY/O: Day off? Does a robot need a day off? It’ll take some time to explain what a day off is to him, and why he needs to take one… Despite the fact he doesn’t have the need to rest as humans do. But he appreciates that he’s being treated like all the other agents, even if he doesn’t require the day off. Brimstone is probably more lenient with KAY/O, letting him be in the labs if he wants to upgrade something of his. As long as it isn’t under his ‘work’ protocol, KAY/O can do pretty much everything he usually does. He decides to take a stab at cooking for the other agents- and even though you’d expect him to pull it off (since recipes are just… instructions for food)… it ends up being inedible, and he makes quite the mess. Jett definitely has a bit of a hissy fit over it, and demands KAY/O clean the mess he’d made. He feels very bad. But you can’t blame a robot for trying something new!
Deadlock: She. Doesn’t know what to do with herself. She’d be one of the few agents who actually tries to get away with working while on her sanctioned day off, but is quickly foiled by Brimstone when he orders Killjoy to deactivate Deadlock’s arm from being able to use her utility. Deadlock is NOT happy about this, and will most definitely hold a grudge. She’ll be in the shooting range most of the day, and will threaten to break anybody who tries to stop her. Her form of relaxing is training. If she is forbidden from training as well, she’ll most likely just lay in bed all day being bitter.
Harbor: He’s not gonna turn down a free day off, that’s for sure. He’s going to make the most of it. Harbor goes down to the beach and spends the whole day there. Maybe he’ll try some local food shops, maybe he’ll play some volleyball… swimming, diving, watching the sunset, listening to the waves… he’s very laid back with whatever he does. Honestly, he’s most likely trying to get himself more in tune with the ocean, observing the waves and the creatures within. Or maybe he just wants to be a beach bum for a day, who knows. One this is certain though: everyone is jealous that Harbor doesn’t burn in the sun. Lucky bastard.
Iso: He’ll shrug and agree. He’s not one to cause a fuss over this kind of thing. Iso will spend most of the day looking into some new music, putting together playlists… he might do some obstacle courses in the training yard for fun, perhaps do a few laps around the field. It might look like training, but Iso is actually just doing it for himself. He likes to keep active, and make sure his agility is in check.
Fade: Oh god. She isn’t happy. Training and missions are one of the few things that keep her mind off the chaotic nightmares she has to deal with. Her prowlers get stir crazy if they aren’t allowed to be let out, so Brimstone promises to let them take out a few bots to satiate their bloodlust while Fade tries to actually relax. She’ll most likely blast music in her room to drown out any unwanted thoughts… and maybe do some online shopping for things she’s been meaning to order. Some new makeup, some hair dye (for herself and for Gekko). Might have a few drinks on her own in an attempt to loosen up at night… and will inevitably forget to drink enough water before bed, so she’ll be extra hungover.
Skye: The second she leaves the HQ, she’s completely off the grid. Nobody is able to contact her, even if they needed to, because she left all her tech at the base. She spends the whole day in the forest, meditating, being one with the nature around her, strengthening her bond with the creatures and life around. She’ll let her trailblazer out to run around, maybe play some hide and seek with it. She’ll climb trees, skip stones… you name it. Skye is making the most of her day off, and enjoying every second of it, living in the moment. She’ll always miss the fresh forest scents when she leaves to return to the protocol. Maybe she’ll bring back a succulent to her room so she can take care of it.
Cypher: It’s not that he doesn’t want to have a day off… In fact, he probably needs the break more than anyone. Though it’s difficult for him to be able to fully relax when he knows that at any moment, the protocol’s personal information, top secret plans, and more could swiftly be in the hands of their enemies if he isn’t careful. The only way he’s gonna accept his day off is if Brimstone allows him to keep his laptop, so he’ll be alerted if there’s any privacy threats the second they happen, and will be able to deal with them immediately. Thankfully, nothing happens the day he takes his breath. So the Moroccan spends the day in his room, mask off, drinking his very expensive tea, and reading a mystery book series he’d been meaning to get into for awhile. And of course, his door is locked so none of the younger agents can barge in and complain that a certain website is blocked… he has to protect whatever innocence they have left.
