Bat parents are divorced  after the fourth kid they realize that things wasn’t gonna work out. Also they used to argue a lot about money about the kids, and then eventually they divorce. Her mother got full custody of her and her three brothers, and at first life was OK. Her mother was actually the good parent before the divorce with being a single parent with four kids, and a ex-husband who isn’t really the best supporter I can’t really get to a person and her mother started to kind of spiral down her mother had some form of depression but she would always try to ignore it but after a while, she just couldn’t ignore it no more and all the frustration sadness and anger just came to her. She started drinking and then drinking lead to smoking, and then that led to her bringing over bad men she would get mad at her kids whenever she’s high or drunk, mainly blaming them for ruining her body or ruining her life even though it was her choice to bring in for kids at her life  she would hit the twins bats brothers and that never hit the little brother because he was only five the mother would get mad at bat for so-called tempting the men she would bring over, but none of those men did anything to her bat was only 10 when all of this started to happen, and it took her father seeing the bruises on his kids, to make a report to the court and to child protective service. Her father isn’t a terrible man, but he’s not the best he was young both him, and her mother was very young when they had Bat brothers and her  but that doesn’t excuse for what they did  eventually the her father would get custody of her and her brothers, and then they would move to Eltingville to get away from the mother .

When they moved to Eltingville bat became mute. She was so hurt and mentally affected by what her mother did, and said to her, it took three years to get her to talk again because of Gayle, Gayle was kind of forced to leave her childhood home, which her grandparents, Farm, and home just to make bat feel comfortable and safe again Gayle is the same age bat.

 When bat was 14 she was walking to school with Gayle in the car pulled up black car and there was three people in it. All adults mainly young adults like 18 to 19 one of the people was nickname Hades he liked bat  He saw something great in her sick bastard, he gave her a cassette with a mix of alternative, but mostly goth music, and told her to come around or hang out, sometimes which she did poor girl, but that day on she became bat. 

As bat got older, and hang out with these three people  hades and the other two they got her to drink and smoke  mainly she drinks more because it was easier to get alcohol back then, then weed. Gayle would always try to get bat to stop smoking and drinking, but she would never listen drinking to her It like her coping mechanism whenever she thought about her mother or other things that make her feel bad or wrong. She just drinks the pain away and if you’re wondering where her brothers are well let’s just say she has a blackmail  against them so that’s why they never tell their dad or never tell her and she’s also sneaky she’s not stupid she knows how to get around and keep secrets from her family even from Gayle. bat sometimes thing about killing herself, because besides her family and the people, she surrounds herself with she really has no one  in her head Eventually she’ll cut off Hades and his friends  and when she does, she feels a little bit more free, but it also means she becomes dependent on someone else. She’s a very emotional person, but she doesn’t let her emotions out in a healthy way. She lets them out in anger. She’s very bad anger issues when she was in high school and even now the one true person I was able to let her be her true self let her be angry be toxic be cruel is bill. …



After she cut off Hades, bill was there to comfort her in a weird way, even though he doesn’t really like her that much and she doesn’t like him after that day something happened to them where they grew a connection a dependent on each other in a weird and sad way if it wasn’t for bill then who knows what would’ve happened too bat in the future maybe she got better or maybe she died  the only reason why she doesn’t kill herself is because of Gayle, she doesn’t want to make Gayle sad or feel like Gayle wasted her time being there for her because she knows that Gayle was forced to hang out with her. She knows that Gayle misses her family back at the farm, but Gayle always tells bat that if it wasn’t for her she would have never met the club.

Oh, Hades did nothing to bat that was extreme he never got close to sleeping with her because she stop that shit right away, and after she cut him off, he was scared of her because she kind of stabbed him in the face and ripped out his tongue piercing

shoutout to the most gorgeous character i've ever created-- valerie darling! valerie is a satyr (level 20!!!) eloquence bard/archfey warlock/beauty cleric. i played valerie in a 'fourshot' called "inexorable inquisition" where our main goal was to take down the director of a terrible group called "the inquisition."

we started this fourshot at level 5, and gained 5 levels for each session following-- as i am extra and love making myself suffer with how much art i want to do, i gave valerie a redesign each part! after designing her level 20 outfit, i think it was all worth it :) we've been told that we'll be able to play these characters again in the future and i absolutely cannot WAIT to go absolutely insane once more as this batshit crazy woman <3

🌼Hey! I am doing a drawing of “Crazy” Iricami in the last book! The plot is explained by ⚜️Leaf⚜️ because I don't know how to talk about it :')🌼

So... In Remyandre's final book, a guy named Myso Rovis captures three characters in particular who have never been named in the saga: a ghost/spirit named Valerie, from the kingdom of Cronik, a ghost from the city of Fuha named Evan, and finally, Iricami. Reason? It will be discovered at the end. One thing the three have in common is that their parents were all friends of Rovis.

All three are imprisoned. No way out. Rovis wastes no time hurting them (this asshole).

Many adventures happen, Valerie, Evan and Iricami end up becoming friends but...

«This is too much... I can't take it anymore... WHY CAN'T YOU (FUCKING) HEAR ME?!».

The spirit literally goes crazy. Too many traumas. Fears. Wounds. (Ye, we like ✨drama✨).

facts about josefina, kirsten, addy, kit and julie! :D

✿ To learn more about what Josefina’s life would have been like, author Valerie Tripp spent two summers in New Mexico. She visited living history museums and interviewed elderly New Mexican women about the daily lives of Hispanic families and children in rural New Mexico.

The models for Josefina’s home were la El Rancho de las Golondrinas near Santa Fe and Hacienda de los Martinez near Taos, NM. Both are former ranchos from Josefina’s time and now living history museums that you can visit today.

Josefina’s first and last names are drawn from the New Mexican censuses of 1790 and 1823.

American Girl worked closely with the advisory board to decide what Josefina would look like. Board member Felipe Mirabal even cut off a lock of his own hair and sent it to AG to ensure that the Josefina doll’s hair color was just right!

Although Josefina is actually a Mexican citizen, the advisory board felt comfortable calling her an “American girl” because her story presents a history and heritage that’s an integral part of America today.

By the end of her series, Josefina has a new mother. This plot element symbolizes the change for the Spanish settlers of New Mexico and the Southwest, who lost their mother country of Mexico when they became citizens of the United States, their new mother country. ✿

✿ Kirsten was one of the first three characters in The American Girls Collection, along with Samantha and Molly, when Pleasant Company debuted.

The Kirsten doll and accessories were “archived” in 2010 and have only been rereleased once in 2021 and once in 2024 since then.

One of the outfits that was sold for Kirsten was a housecoat and sockor, or wool slippers. The sockor for the Kirsten doll were handmade by a woman in Sweden beginning in 1987 for twenty years.

The original family portrait in Kirsten’s books is made to look like a daguerreotype, which is a type of photograph from the time. Later, the portraits of Kirsten’s family and friends were done individually to match the other American Girl books.

In Pleasant Rowland’s original business plan, Kirsten was named Rebecca, and was a Norwegian immigrant in 1865.

The team who created Kirsten did a lot of research with the Minnesota and Wisconsin Historical Societies, who had a lot of information about the Swedish settlers who came to these states in the 1800s.

Kirsten’s Swedish dirndl and kerchief outfit were first released in 1989. ✿

✿ Addy was the first American Girl doll that came with pierced ears.

The cowrie shell necklace that Addy wears is special, as the cowrie has ritual significance for some West African cultures.

The Addy doll and books debuted in September 1993. She was the fifth historical character and the first Black character.

Pleasant Rowland, the founder of American Girl, reached out to author Connie Porter to write the Addy book series after reading her adult novel All-Bright Court.

To promote the Addy book series, American Girl took author Connie Porter on a 10-city author tour to bookstores, libraries, and schools, reaching an audience of more than 15,000 people.

Researchers on Addy confirmed when the full moon would have been during Addy and her mother’s escape from enslavement in 1864 to ensure historical accuracy in the timing.

The museum program, Addy at Ohio Village, debuted in 1998.

The dialect used in the Addy books was created by author Connie Porter to be a balance between what speech of the time would’ve sounded like and what is accessible for young readers and was reviewed by two dialect experts at Jacksonville State University in Alabama.

Addy was the first American Girl character to have an advisory board. Addy’s advisory board was made up of Black historians, educators, and museum curators who ensured the depiction of Addy’s life and times was historically accurate.

The advisory board for Addy included: Lonnie Bunch, Cheryl Chisholm, Spencer Crew, Violet Harris, Wilma King, June Powell, and Janet Sims-Wood.

Addy’s first three books sold more than a million copies in the year they were released.

Some of the original time periods discussed for American Girl’s first Black character included the Harlem Renaissance and the Civil Rights era, which were used later for Claudie Wells and Melody Ellison, respectively. ✿

✿ Kit Kittredge is the seventh historical character that American Girl created.

When she wrote the Kit books, author Valerie Tripp was inspired by her mother, who was Kit’s age in 1932.

The movie Kit Kittredge: An American Girl was released in 2008 and starred Abigail Breslin as Kit—plus actors Chris O’Donnell, Julia Ormond, Joan Cusack, and Stanley Tucci.

Illustrator Walter Rane used himself as a model for the grumpy grocery store owner in Kit’s stories.

When Kit launched, American Girl held events called Kit’s Share and Care Party where girls were invited to donate canned goods for a food drive.

Like Kit’s dad, author Valerie Tripp’s grandfather paid his staff out of his own pocket as long as he could, but eventually had to close his hotel during the Great Depression.

Kit was the first American Girl character doll with freckles and the first with short hair.

Development on Kit was started before Mattel purchased Pleasant Company (American Girl’s original company name) but she was launched after the purchase.

After the launch of the Kit doll and books, Valerie Tripp received a letter from a woman named Kit Kittredge who had grown up in Cincinnati during the Depression and was very excited about the coincidence!

American Girl’s Claudie Wells, whose stories are set in the 1920s, could have faced the challenges of the Great Depression in her teens and twenties. ✿

Julie’s stories are set in San Francisco to express the open-minded, progressive spirit of her time. At the forefront of the hippie counterculture, San Francisco’s colorful, creative, free-wheeling vibe strongly influenced the music, fashion, and art of the 1970s.

When Julie debuted, some customers felt American Girl should not depict a girl with divorced parents. But since about 50% of kids today live with divorced parents, the creators of Julie felt it was important to have a character and doll who represented their experience.

Author Megan McDonald has four sisters who inspire many of her stories. Quite a few of the scenes between Julie and her teenage sister Tracy were inspired by Megan’s experience growing up with her sisters.

When she’s running for election to student body president, Julie debates her opponent, a popular sixth-grade boy. The 1976 Ford-Carter election debates inspired author Megan McDonald to come up with this plotline.

When author Megan McDonald was ten, her first published story appeared in her school newspaper. Her story was about a pencil sharpener! ✿

@theviridianbunny already tagged me for WIP Wednesday, then I got another from @wanderingaldecaldo and I said... wtf not? I can do it again.

As always, this entire AU is a huge Phantom Liberty spoiler, so be warned.

Anyone who's seen my stuff recently would know I've gone all in on The Tower, my Brother's Shadow AU. I've been hard at work updating all our characters (except for Trey 😢) with their 2079 appearances.

Stalker's Tango by Autoheart - Explained in the last post, a shared song between the two playlists.

Etimasia by Jozef Van Wissem and Jim Jarmusch - An instrumental vibe, which is unique to her playlist as I didn't both to put any of those on Sahib's. This one, to me, is being groomed into her Embrace. The gentle nostalgia, warped and obscured and discordant after so many years. Are her memories accurate, or did she create them to justify her hunt for retribution?

Side Character by Cloudfodder - Jewel's perception of the situation between her and her sire is very different. Sahib has grown distant and cold over the years, become controlling and easy to anger. Fifty years ago, she thought he would sacrifice everything for her. But she knows that he's grown tired of her and moved on—some day he will kill her and she needs to make sure she makes it out of his iron grasp alive.

Home by Cavetown - A dual meaning choice, again. On one side of the coin, Jewel giving up her eyes, her hair, and her life, all to meet the expectations of the two kind men who promised her eternal life. On the other, she reconnected with a childhood friend a few decades ago and found out that they had dedicated their life to hunting down the monsters that took her away. They could save her, they could free her from her fate. They could kill Sahib.

Witchcraft by Vian Izak - A cover of a Frank Sinatra that I've had memorized for years and that I used to be able to play on the piano. Jewel tends to have this sort of "new age" occult vibe that she actively uses to lure in new pets.

No Children by The Mountain Goats - I'm not sure this one needs much explanation, on a surface level, but I'll give you the deep cut. She has complicated feelings about Sahib, but even more so about the rest of the polycule. She will escape him even at the cost of her life, but it would be better to be rid of him and survive it. And then what? And then continue living with the other two? If Sahib is her abuser, are they as well? Or are they enablers, loved ones who watched her get burned over and over and did nothing to help?

Valeris she could do without. Jewel would miss her, but losing her along with Sahib would be only one more drop in the ocean of grief. Losing Etienne as well, though, would be the tsunami that broke her. In the end, though, he didn't save her either. Is he worth keeping in her life, and is he even safe to keep in her life after breaking free? Would Etienne turn against her in the wake of Sahib's murder?

Rule #34 by Fish in a Birdcage - Like father like daughter.

Mad Hatter by Melanie Martinez - She is actively leaking her humanity all over the place and will run out quite soon. She, however, does not see it like that. Jewel is embracing the darkness she's been given.

Venus in Gemini by DEZI - I don't think this one needs a lot of context. The lyrics do all the work for me, really, with the context I've already given you about how she views her situation.

THE ONLY TIME IT RAINS IN HOLLYWOOD by Red Leather - Jewel was an actress, once upon a time. She was on the fast-track to fame. And then she met two strange men at a party that ended up changing her life. Not only did they take her life, but she couldn't go back to that life of stardom in a million years. They made damn sure of that when they took their claws her eyes, scissors to her hair, and needles to her skin. She was told she was beautiful like this, permanently altered in the stasis of death, perfect for the role she would play.

Villainous Thing by Shayfer James - The narrative spun by her sire in those early years, a pretty little story of power in the dark of night.

Pretty Lavinia by American Murder Song - What goes in Lavinia's drum? One part kisses, three part rum. Northern girl with a Southern tongue; Pretty Lavinia. Another body was combed from the Ashley bank, tied with cat tails and stones until it sank. But Lavinia, breezing corners past the mourners... pretty pretty pretty Lavinia.

Hunting song.

Unlucky Lady by TROY - Something about this one makes me think about Sahib's sire and his opinion of Jewel. He has a much more... optimistic view of what's happening to her.

Dead Inside by Younger Hunger - What Sahib's little love affairs look like to Jewel.

Miss Jackson by Panic! At The Disco - This is me, talking about her succumbing to madness as she chases freedom like a dog chasing cars. You, Jewel, are one fucked up little lady. Keep going, I wanna see what happens to you at the end of all this.

Alternatively, Sahib watching her plan his demise and thinking "Damn, that's actually really clever."

Echolocation by Don't (a duo featuring Cosmo Sheldrake and Flora Wallace) - I'm funny, actually. I'm funny and very mean.

I Want to Be Bad by Helen Kane - Minimal explanation needed. A very childish sort of silly song, but the sentiment stands. This is the facade she puts forth into the world to garner sympathy.

The Dismemberment Song by Blue Kid - Remember when Sahib posted something like "RIP to whoever I just scraped off the ceiling in J's room."? :)

you should see me in a crown by Billie Eilish - Jewel's ambition is "Kill Sahib". What says overthrowing your sire more than Billie Eilish's hit song you should see me in a crown?

Sex with a Ghost by Teddy Hyde - Looking back at a previous sentiment of Sahib growing tired of her (Side Character by Cloudfodder), this is another song to express that same idea. Sex with a Ghost is about being intimate with somebody who isn't emotionally present, having sex with someone who looks right through you or maybe even sees someone else in your place. There is a miscommunication happening at all times between Sahib and Jewel and I would be hard-pressed to list all of them. They are built on misunderstandings and lies and manipulation.

But there's something uniquely devastating about realizing the person you take to bed doesn't want to be there. Especially if you don't realize it until thirty years in. Has Sahib grown disgusted with the image he himself created from her component parts, or was he disgusted with her to begin with?

Did he ever love her?

Foreign Object by The Mountain Goats - She wants to stab him in the eye with a foreign object. You know, like what he did to her.

On Tuesday, March 26, Judge Juan Merchan, who is presiding over Trump’s election interference case, put Trump under a gag order to stop his attacks on court staff, prosecutors, jurors, and witnesses. On Wednesday, Trump renewed his attacks on the judge and the judge’s daughter. On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton took the unusual step of talking publicly about what threats of violence meant to the rule of law. Walton, who was appointed to the federal bench by President George W. Bush, told Kaitlan Collins of CNN that threats, especially threats to a judge’s family, undermine the ability of judges to carry out their duties. 

“I think it’s important in order to preserve our democracy that we maintain the rule of law,” Walton said. “And the rule of law can only be maintained if we have independent judicial officers who are able to do their job and ensure that the laws are, in fact, enforced and that the laws are applied equally to everybody who appears in our courthouse.” 

On Friday, former president Trump shared on social media a video of a truck with a decal showing President Joe Biden tied up and seemingly in the bed of the truck, in a position suggesting he was being kidnapped. 

A threat of violence has always been part of Trump’s political performance. In 2016 he urged rallygoers to “knock the crap out of” protesters, and they did. They also turned on people who weren’t protesters. Political scientists Ayal Feinberg, Regina Branton, and Valerie Martinez-Ebers studied the effects of Trump’s 2016 campaign rhetoric against marginalized Americans and found that counties where Trump held rallies had a significant increase in hate incidents in the month after that rally. 

Trump’s stoking of violence became an embrace when he declared there were “very fine people, on both sides,” after protesters stood up against racists, antisemites, white nationalists, Ku Klux Klan members, neo-Nazis, and other alt-right groups met in August 2017 in Charlottesville, Virginia, where they shouted Nazi slogans and left 19 people injured and one protester, Heather Heyer, dead. 

In October 2020, Trump refused to denounce the far-right Proud Boys organization, instead telling its members to “stand back and stand by.” The Proud Boys turned out for the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, where they helped to lead those rioters fired up by Trump’s speech at The Ellipse, where he told them: “You'll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong. We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing…. And we fight. We fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore.”

Trump’s appeals to violence have gotten even more overt since the events of January 6. 

And yet, on Meet the Press yesterday, Kristen Welker seemed to suggest that there is a general problem in U.S. politics when she described Trump’s attacks on Judge Merchan as “a reminder that we are covering this election against the backdrop of a deeply divided nation.”  

But are the American people deeply divided? Or have Trump and his MAGA supporters driven the Republican Party off the rails?

One of the major issues of the 2024 election—perhaps THE major issue—is reproductive rights. But Americans are not really divided on that issue: on Friday, a new Axios-Ipsos poll found that 81% of Americans agree that “abortion issues should be managed between a woman and her doctor, not the government.” That number includes 65% of Republicans, as well as 82% of Independents and 97% of Democrats. The idea that abortion should be between a woman and her doctor was the language of the Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, overturned in 2022 with the help of the three extremist justices appointed by Trump. 

Last week, the Congressional Management Foundation, which works with Congress to make it more efficient and accountable, released its study of the state of Congress in 2024. It found that senior congressional staffers overwhelmingly think that Congress is not functioning “as a democratic legislature should.” Eighty percent of them think it is not “an effective forum for debate on questions of public concern.” 

But there is a significant difference in the parties’ perception of what’s wrong. While 61% of Republican staffers are satisfied that Congress members and staff feel safe doing their jobs, only 21% of Democratic staffers agree, and Democratic staffers are significantly more likely to fear for their and others’ safety. Women and longer-tenured staffers are more likely to be questioning whether to stay in Congress due to safety concerns. Eighty-four percent of Democratic staffers think that agreed-upon rules and codes of conduct for senators and representatives are not sufficient to “hold them accountable for their words and deeds,” while only 44% of Republicans say the same.

Republicans themselves seem split about the direction of their party. Republican staffers were far more likely than Democrats to be “questioning whether I should stay in Congress due to heated rhetoric from my party”: 59% to 16%. “The way the House is ‘functioning,’ is frustrating many members,” wrote one House Republican deputy chief of staff. “We have to placate [certain] members and in my nearly ten years of working here I have never felt more like we’re on the wrong track.” 

One Republican Senate communications director blamed extremist political rhetoric for the dysfunction. “[W]ith the nation being in a self-sort mode, it is easy to never hear a dissenting opinion in many areas of the country. People in DC, who work in the Capitol, generally have a collegiate approach to each other. The American people don’t get to see that—at all. From the outside it appears to be a Royal Rumble and bloodsport. It’s reflected in the [way] people, regular citizens, now view one another.” 

A Republican House staff director wrote that Congress is “a representative body and a reflection of the people writ large. When they demand something different of their leaders, their leaders will respond (or they will elect different leaders).”

Burgess Everett and Olivia Beavers of Politico reported yesterday that nearly 20 Republican lawmakers and aides have told them they would like Trump to calm down his rhetoric. They appear to think such violent commentary is unpopular and that it will hurt those running in downballot races if they have to answer for it.

It seems unlikely Trump will willingly temper his comments, since threatening violence seems to be all he has left to combat the legal cases bearing down on him. Over the course of Easter morning, he posted more than 70 times on social media, attacking his opponents and declaring himself to be “The Chosen One.”

Tonight, Trump posted a $175 million appeals bond in the New York civil fraud case. He was unable to secure a bond for the full amount of the judgment, but an appeals court lowered the amount. Posting the bond will let him appeal the judge’s decision. If he wins on appeal, he will avoid paying the judgment. If he loses, the bond is designed to guarantee that Trump will pay the entire amount the judge determined he owes to the people of New York: more than $454 million. 

Trump and his campaign are short of cash, and there were glimmers last week that the public launch of his media network would produce significant money if he could only hold off judgments until he could sell the stock—six months, according to the current agreement—or use his shares as collateral for a bond. The company’s public launch raised the stock price by billions of dollars. 

But this morning the company released its 2023 financial information, showing revenues of $4.1 million last year and a net loss of $58.2 million. The stock plunged about 20%, wiping out about $1 billion of the money that Trump had, on paper anyway, made. The company said it has not made any changes to the provision prohibiting early sales or using shares as collateral. 

Tonight, Judge Merchan expanded the previous gag order on Trump to stop attacks on the judge’s family members. Trump has a right “to speak to the American voters freely and to defend himself publicly,” but “[i]t is no longer just a mere possibility or a reasonable likelihood that there exists a threat to the integrity of the judicial proceedings,” Merchan wrote. “The threat is very real.”
