happy birthday Kazehiki(utau) !!!!! [nov 6]
(vocaloid art)
Kazehiki is a japanese synth originally created by Kurukuru Suuzi, and released in 2015. kazehiki is also voiced and illustrated by Kurukuru Suuzi. kazehiki was given a limited release on 23 aug 2023 for the new vocaloid beta engine (VOCALOID β-STUDIO). his vocaloid vb was developed by yamaha in collaboration with KUZUTOKAZE. kazehiki is 12yo and 140cm tall. he is dead and wishes to pass on to heaven, but cannot as he needs a pair of angel wings to do that, which he does not have. he always has a cold and is permanently sleepy.
i know Kurukuru Suuzi does not allow reposts of their art, as it says so on the website featuring all their utaus, but i figured the vocaloid art would be fine ? since its being used for a commercial product ? im not too sure, the machine translation on their website is a little difficult to understand

The Tsumugi VOICEVOX/vxβ comparisons had me pay attention to vxβ for the first time since its initial release. I honestly know very little about it, but what I'm hearing is extremely promising compared to VOCALOID6. The quality and versatility seem vastly superior while still retaining that recognisable "VOCALOID sound" that a lot of people like. I've mostly listened to prtv_0 and Tsumugi so far. Wouldn't it be better if VOCALOID6 sounded this way...? I heard the beta is ending soon, hoping for an update. What surprises me is those free voicebanks that keep being added to V6 with a much worse quality than vxβ. What's is...... happening, exactly

in case anyone is wondering, i'm not going to be posting any facts related to vocaloid β studio.
this is because, from my basic understanding, it's essentially a beta testing software for potential vocals that may or may not be released for V6. it will only last until march 2024. i don't want to post anything about vocals released for it that could very quickly become outdated, especially since not much is known about the voicebanks themselves at this time.
it's not a blacklisted subject or anything, but i want to clear this up just in case. i'm open to talking about β studio once enough time has passed and it is no longer being used/worked on.
also, for the purposes of tagging/organization, i won't be considering β studio to be a separate engine from vocaloid6, so it won't have its own tag if i do talk about it.

Man i'm hoping this is something interesting, but VOCALOID since V5 and beyond hasn't really sold me on buying it any more. Like what happened to those like 16 V6 voices announced almost a year ago. I'd really like to see some existing, known projects get some sort of update before starting a whole new one apparently (unless they're for whatever β-STUDIO is).
But also what a weird time to Tweet out a single symbol. Honestly thought this was a dumb joke Tweet making fun of the Twitter rebrand.
