Eat your Konpeito before Tonbokiri takes it
Narumi!bot
Have you ever heard about konpeito? Yes, a sweet treat like mostly candy and this sweet is popular in Japan.
About 16th century, the sugar candy manufacture was introduced by Portuguese traders. In 1569, Luís Fróis, a Portuguese missionary, presented a glass flask of konpeitō to Oda Nobunaga in order to obtain the permit for mission work of Christianity. Howooo, there is a reason some adaptation describe Nobunaga-sama loves konpeito. Perhaps it's so sweet and good for snacking while boring.
Then, in Touken Ranbu, konpeito become the item that increased our exp. Start from standart konpeito which contains 500 exp each. Then high grade konpeito which contains 10.000 exp each. The last one, special konpeito with 30.000 exp each if you had finish Hyakki Yakou Operation, you get 6 item of special konpeito.
To get the konpeito items, there are steps and inquiries. For standart konpeito, you should do sparring task on duties. You can also get konpeito by complete ranbu level 4 and limited forging (the remaining point of forging will be traded to standart konpeito). How about the high grade one? Some event will put konpeito as reward, for example Summer Regiment Battle.
Because it's limited, we need to be wise to use it. And... who's the one that so strict for giving konpeito?
Of course... one of our Sanmeishou, Tonbokiri.
Believe me, i said the truth. This Honda Tadakatsu's Yari perhaps know well if konpeito is an important item. Not everytime konpeito are being consumed. It's rare item. Tonbokiri was so careful to share konpeito to his pals.
The story start from Nagasone had conversation with Tonbokiri during have a training. Nagasone then mentioned konpeito as Tonbokiri was doing a sparring. Nagasone wanted to taste it, thinking he would have a powerful stamina by eating it. Unfortunately Tonbokiri wouldn't allow it as he knew konpeito had to be consumed whenever it was urgent. Again Nagasone tried to persuade Tonbokiri but failed, ended by Nagasone 'eating' his own hand because he was so hungry.
As Tonbokiri mumbled complaining Nagasone's request, there was Tomoegata who ate dango. Tomoegata knew if Tonbokiri had a konpeito. Later he asked for konpeito because one dango wasn't enough for himself. Again Tonbokiri refused to give konpeito. With hopeless, Tomoegata walked away before he finished the dango.
Nikkari, the curious 'ghost slayer', came and teased Tonbokiri by calling him 'konpeito'. Immediately, Tonbokiri corrected it. Tonbokiri angry about why people wanted konpeito so much. Nikkari thought it was the time to taste konpeito and he asked some of it. Well and again, Tonbokiri scolded Nikkari to not waste the konpeito.
As Nikkari went away, Yasusada and Horikawa sneaked inside to make Tonbokiri startled. Again, Tonbokiri knew what they want. It was konpeito. Whining like a kid, Yasusada and Horikawa begged for a konpeito because they start hungry. But still, Tonbokiri refused even insulted Yasusada who cries before. As get 'imaginary heart attack', Yasusada asked Horikawa to get healed but Horikawa left him before he chased Horikawa.
Tonbokiri later got tired then start sleeping. As a long deep sleep, Tonbokiri dreamed himself having scout mission as the order of Saniwa. But strangely, everyone say konpeito as the name phrase. So... Saniwa was konpeito, Tonbokiri was konpeito, touken danshi were konpeito, jikkan shokogun was konpeito, everyone were konpeito. Tonbokiri realized his dream influenced by his selfishness to not share konpeito.
The enemies came. They started fighting against KONPEITO. In the middle of battle, they lose but Tonbokiri tries to settle it. Everyone injured because the lost of konpeito to eat. Tonbokiri was upset regreting himself.
As he awoke from his dream, Tonbokiri acted strangely in front of his pals. He was swearing to fulfill his dream as 'Konpeitokiri' or 'Konpeito Slayer'. Later he called his pals as konpeito. Of course it made them confused. As Tonbokiri daydreamed and kept talking strangely, Horikawa thought if Tonbokiri gone crazy. To make Tonbokiri got comfy, they acted as the same way as him then slowly calm him down.
The good news was... Tonbokiri wanted to share his konpeito to his pals and forgave his selfishness. In the end they started eating konpeito. They sang about the beauty of konpeito.
It's a strange act but so fun. Even they have a song to praise konpeito. How amazing and sweet konpeito is. I also want to eat konpeito.
Owh, i have the lyrics. So... lets sing together
The song: Konpeito
Ikiru chikara ga minagiru ze ima

Musical Touken Ranbu: Michinooku ~ Hitotsu Hachisu (Michinooku ~ A Single Lotus)
Here we go! Only a few days after the archive release and toumyu's ninth anniversary (congratulations!)
Michioku, or Michihasu, is a myu I have many conflicting feelings about, both positive and negative. However, I do believe that with the right amount of care in the next Mika-related story myu, the negative can still be cleared. Plus, I'm glad about a lot of things being re-established. The writer does need to step up her game a little on the plot-writing side of things, as well as the understanding-and-respecting-past-myu side of things, but as long as she does, this can still be given a proper place within what was already established.
Keep in mind that these are only the subtitle files, timed and tled to the DMM senshuuraku and the bluray respectively. The archive version will have a talk at the start, so the starting times of the subs will have to be delayed accordingly.
You can find the subtitles and my TL notes document here!
#touken ranbu#toumyu#water's translations#michioku#michihasu#how do I put this#seeing as myu's director Kayano has said in an interview right before Michioku that Kogi and Mika have a special bond#different from other swords-- and then they try to speedrun *Tsuru* and Mika having a what feels like it was intended to be#even greater relationship using a song called Kage Futatsu where KOGI'S signature song from Utaawase was Futatsu no Kage???#I SINCERELY want to believe it's incompetence rather than the writer deliberately pulling the rug from under Kogi's feet#bc the alternative is just cruel#I don't particularly mind the relationship Mika and Tsuru have in this play but I feel that not for a moment Kogi and kara respectively#were considered in the writing#anyway my final verdict is that this myu is what too many people think tsuwa is: the divorce myu (between Mika and Tsuru this time)#in all cases I hope myu can bring Shirakawa Yuki in again like with Datemyu just to offload myu's already deathly busy writer (she's done#5 myus in a month before which is just insane) because I feel this just isn't sustainable with the amount of carefulness a long-running#franchise like myu demands and the *writing* quality (not the production quality AT ALL Michioku's is great) is suffering for it.#like sure Michioku is loaded with references but they're references that either don't serve *Michioku's own* plot or their treatment shows#a lack of understanding of the work it's referencing-- for example Kashuu calling upon atsu's “This is how the shinsengumi fights!” actuall#goes completely contrary to the lesson he's supposed to have learned from atsuibun: that swords aren't disposable and that he has duties as#both soldier (captain in atsu) and as COMRADE and he makes the (already highlighted in Michioku!) dumb decision of butting in without#thinking-- and with that framed against manba's breaking trauma as well! He's supposed to have learned to stay rational and consider both#duties yet here he is ---BECAUSE of the reference--- completely leaning on the pre-atsu-development side of the scale#as if Ishi's words went one ear in one ear out. And yes the scene by itself could've worked as a subversion to show Kashuu makes the#'irrational' decision against what Ishi taught him to consider precisely because he cares for the people he's protecting but there is NO#groundwork laid at all for that in the rest of Michioku! This is what I mean with the carelessness of the references and the lack of#consideration for what prior myus were trying to SAY and ACHIEVE which is insane because she was the lyricist for those#it's more a collage of feelings provided through a set of characters calling back to the scripts of prior myu rather than#a story that evokes feelings bc the humans in it walk forward and act upon-- interact with-- the scenery on the road as left by prior human

🦊🐸 :3 ayy
[ In Depth and Personal Munday meme ]
🦊 What is the ambiance like, where you are? Are there any sounds, or sights that might be distinctive?
Currently, where I've been living with my grandparents, I guess the most distinctive thing would be the geese LOL there's two ponds nearby and a big field past their backyard so we get soooo many geese flying and walking around and honking. Some other birds too!! Have some pics!
(Canada geese + 2 babies! / blue jay / a cute round lil bluebird 😭💙)
🐸 Something that makes you smile for fandom reasons?
Okay so the thing about tkrb is it makes me smile SO much (except for when it makes me cry, obviously) and I'm sooo glad I came back to it full-force after a while away ;;; but the big toumyu concerts like shinken ranbu sai, utaawase, etc always leave me like. Idk, so fuckin happy LOL, it's like the feeling after an irl concert!!
Also now I'm reading that question and I'm wondering if it means something non-fandom that makes me smile for fandom reasons, like it reminds me of it ??
well. It made me smile before but the first thing that comes to mind now is the hampsterdance LOL 💀💀💀💀 that counts right? cause it's STILL so fucking funny to me thinking about the toudans dealing with their saniwa turning into a hamster it's so RIDICULOUS
#huhuhu? (asks)#fun fact im pretty sure thats an eastern bluebird aka my state's (missouri) state bird! soooooo lil and cute i love#out of blades#also i have a video from the day i moved in here. it was dark and super foggy but you just hear the geese#i called it Silent Honk

Takiyasha Hime Onmyoji Manga Volume 1 Chapter 2 Part 1
Warning: This manga contains graphic and gorey scenes.
Here is the link to the chapter on Comic Walker.
Character List
Previous Summaries
Summary
The chapter began with the introduction of Ono no Yoshifuru . This was what it read: Councilor Ono no Yoshifuru, Senior Fourth Rank Lower Grade, (later Junior Third Rank). His ancestor was Ono no Imoko, who fought with Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty (which is in present day China). His Grandfather Ono was the Prime Minister of the Field and the Judge of Hell [1]. His older sister was one of the Rokkasen (Six Famous Poets), Ono no Komachi. His younger brother was Ono no Michikaze, one of the Sanseki (The Three Famous Calligraphers of Japan).
Yoshifuru asked the woman with the glasses about what happened to everyone in the house, she answered that they were living in peace. Yoshifuru asked if she used medicine or something on them and said that it would have been convenient not to wake him up regardless if they are planning to steal from him or take his life and asked the 'Thief Without Stealing Group' what do they want with him. The woman did not answer, but remarked that people on the battlefield see thing differently than others. Yoshifuru wondered if she was talking about a riot instead of a battlefield? The woman told him that she was doing a lot of research. Yoshifuru asked what she was looking for. The woman told him that their princess will ask him directly and that it was for his own good not to lie. The Princess who was Taira no Satsuki AKA Takiyashahime made a grand entrance on a carriage carried by a giant spider. Takiyashahime demanded to know where the box or bag that was supposedly entrusted to Yoshifuru at Kumoiji Temple in Higashiyama within the last twenty years is. Yoshifuru said that he did not know what he was entrusted and where the box or the bag is. Takiyashahime asked him what were the contents inside, but realized that the item might not have been at the mansion and asked him did he hid it somewhere else. Yoshifuru said that he did not know and could not answer. Takiyashahime told him that if she found out that he lied she will come back to the manison and the flashback ended.
Seimei commented on the incident and said that it was interested. Hiromasa added that since there were no casualties and nothing was stolen would calling the incident funny be appropriate. Seimei just said that saying that it was interesting was good enough. Yasunori said that the source for searching for a princess in a party coat was Kumoiji Temple.
Seimei looked at Yasunori in disbelief and asked if that was the reason his teacher was at his house tonight. Yasunori said that it doesn't matter and he just wanted Seimei to hear it because strange things were happening lately and the upper part of the Dairi Utaawase is nearer.[2] He also reminded Seimei that women were being murdered in quick succession. Seimei responded and said that it seemed that 8 pregnant women were murdered in just over a month. Yasunori corrected him and said that they were actually 9 pregnant women that was murdered, which shocked Hiromasa. Yasunori told Seimei that a man who was grilling charcoal in Mount Kurama that afternoon found a woman's corpse in the mountains. The woman was from the Imperial Palace and returned to her house in Kifune after she became pregnant, but disappeared two days ago. Seimei commented about it saying surely it is not an accident or the work of a beast. Yasunori continued and said that he had seen it to, but it looked like the women were already dead and the child in the womb was scraped out. Seimei asked if the children were males or females. Yasunori told him that they were males. Seimei asked what happened to the children that were scraped out of the womb, but from what I translated Yasunori did not see what happened to the children. Seimei said those were unpleasant events and Hiromasa agreed. Seimei then suggested that they should leave the murder investigation to the Prosecution Office unless there is a request to corporate with the Onmyo Dormitory.
Yasunori told Seimei that he is about to talk about the main topic and Seimei remarked that Yasunori is too long-winded. Yasunori asked Hiromasa if he knew who Taira no Sadamori was. Hiromasa knew him as the Guard General but only knew him enough to greet him.
The narrator said that it was the story of a certain warrior meaning Taira no Sadamori.
[1] Yoshifuru's Grandfather Ono name was Ono no Takamura. I posted a link to the page on Japanese Wiki Corpus, in which he became a Judge of Hell.
[2] Here is a link to more information about the Tentoku Dairi Utaawase.
[3] I posted information about Taira no Sadamori because the second incident that Yasunori mentioned seemed to be a reference to his actions in "The Tale of the Times Now Past".
My Twitter Post that discusses this manga is here.

random question ig but when do you think they're gonna introduce Kasen in toumyu?
ok incoming long answer from a tousute girl:
I mean, I have the barest hints of what goes on in myu since I haven't seen much past utaawase, and kokoro oboe I presume expands much more upon the workings of the government/timelines/general meta. Sooo not my area of expertise here. Any speculations I make will, perhaps, be discordant with the logic that is much more clearer for actually Active & Participating myu fans.
Anywho, given kousui's revelation that, well, the first ever manifested sword has been snapped and is long gone, I'm not sure if that implies that swords that are broken can never be recovered (since kasen is such a common drop, but then again, I think myu deviates from the typical sword summoning the game describes given the rituals for matsui and kuwana) or that he does indeed exist in myu honmaru, the successor of the previous kasen, and that he is simply unmentioned by those who knew him to keep the past in the past.
Whichever one it is, or if it is some third alternative, I think it'd be interesting to get a myu based on the concept of broken-sword-manifests-again-and-has-to-deal-with-unspoken-grief-in-his-comrades'-eyes. Plus it could be a plot point that drives manba's character arc forward can he catch a break from feeling constant guilt for once. but again, I'm not sure how far they could take that (since sute already does cover the rudiments of that same kind of trope, and is also having manba go off on his kiwame journey to bring a sword back) or if that will tie into the bigger overarching toumyu plot <- have only cursorily heard of snippets of this
There's also the fact that there aren't any swords in myu that kasen has a direct connection to, save for matsui, kotegiri and ookurikara, but those are all characters that have had their own myu productions recently and so I'm not keeping my hopes of them appearing in another myu any time soon. I'd really love to see how myu matsui and kasen play out because we've never gotten their actual interaction anywhere.
But we can hope, right? That a not-wadakuma-kasen will grace the myu cast and dazzle us with sequined non-kimono, prominently western-dress inspired idol outfits, all the while uncharacteristically stripping off layer upon layer of clothing and making incendiary eyes at the camera?
short answer: definitely before I kick the bucket!
#wouldnt it be super funny and convenient if ranbuyagai matsuri had kasen manifest. id explode w the strength of a million suns.#(delusional)(delusional)(delusional)(d#anon#✉️#immortal poets kasen kanesada

Japanese painter Asai Chu is well known for being a prominent yoga (Western-style) painters in Japan during the Meiji period. In this two volume book, Tōsei fūzoku gojūban utaawase, he and writer Ikebe Yoshikata collaborated to create this book of uta awase, a poetry contest of sorts. Together, the set contains fifty humorous East-meets-West scenes taking a look at modernization during the Meiji period.
While we don’t have a translation of the text, the whimsical illustrations are delightful and well worth exploring!

Musical Touken Ranbu: Hanakage Yureru Tomizu (The Shadows of Flowers Swaying In The Whetwater) english subs
About a month later than I'd have liked, but here they are! Even if its writing is a bit more messy than usual, its core is very solid. Of course, Chougi's live song more than got away with me (it's got Japanese Sign Language), so if you could, please watch it gently.
I dedicate this to the friends of mine who love Ichigo Hitofuri. May you be unapologetically yourself, right the way you are.
Keep in mind that this is only the subtitle file, timed and tled to the DMM senshuuraku and BD/DVD. The archive version will have a talk at the start, so the starting times of the subs will have to be delayed accordingly.
You can find the subtitles and my TL document here!

Going by the writing style of the writer as shown in Goumyu and Ishi's Utaawase skit all the obvious pitfalls appeared#touching more lightly upon other characters works more nicely for lighthearted situations or broad focuses--#when it comes to character-focussed stuff you need to ahve everyone play a part and FEEL#and I really missed the more... personal touch and characterisation efficiency the previous writer excelled in#Ichigo and Hon'ami aside there are very few songs in which the feelings of the swords and their opinion on the situation are highlighted#it's a shame-- especially when we've got such good singers on the cast#what's also a shame is that this seals off any kage plot Kogitsunemaru could've had after Utaawase (because it'd have been done before)#Hanakage was the myu where I was like “Ah. Kogitsunemaru has no unique themes/directions left.”#it's devastating but also kind of freeing in a sense#(and then MichiOku came around and simultaneously gave Kogi a place AND pulled the rug from under him so well-- mixed feelings on that one!#in any case please enjoy!#it'd be cute if we had a kage myu at one point with Kogi Koryuu and the one from this myu

Fan Account Summary From Touken Ranbu Utaawase
Since the DVD is being released today, I decided to post a fan experience for this since I loved this performance.
**Note This is a general fan account and not for a specific performance as I watched multiple performances spanning different cities; Fukuoka and Hiroshima. And the ad-lib and small gestures in each one is different so I am not able to recall everything per show.
Tickets
I pre-purchased all but one of my tickets before the performances online, I was lucky and was able to buy the last one at the venue. (This really depends on the sold-out status online.) I also noticed a lot of people lining up in both Hiroshima and Fukuoka performances trading tickets with the ticketing office. Some people also had signs asking to exchange tickets privately as well.
During the Fukuoka performances since all the seats were not sold out online, you could purchase the tickets before the showing started. This this was a performance during the weekday I think that might have been the reason that lots of upper seats were empty. The Hiroshima performances were during the weekend so all the tickets had already sold out online.
Buying Goods
In Fukuoka, the line wasn’t very long as I arrived pretty early and before the first performance of the day. However in Hiroshima I arrived in the morning and the line was super long something that I wasn’t expecting. It was already a 4 person line and it was coiling from the main level where goods were sold to second floor outside. I wanted to be able to purchase the goods I wanted the first day. They did have a limit on the Hoodie Ribbons. Everyone was only allowed to buy 1. So I had to line up a few times to get the ribbons for the other characters. It was easy to do this right after a performance, as the lines at that time were really short in comparison. Only a few items were listed as sold out by the end of Day 2. I thought they generally had a good stock.
While waiting in line, they had staff hand out leaflets like they do at Comiket. It was helpful especially if you weren’t sure what you wanted or you were able to see the large banners at the front. As you get closer to the ‘entrance’ of the sells booth they will have a display with the actually products so you will be able to have a better idea of what you want.
There was also a separate line for the Gacha items and it was just as long as the regular merch line. I didn’t go for those, so I don’t have much to add about this.
Trading Goods
Around the area, you’ll find the fans of certain characters/actors will have pins/and other goods for trading. So you can trade with them if the items you got from the gacha were not the characters/actors you like. Everyone will usually carry a clear case and they keep it open so you will be able to easily see which character they are looking for. And usually they dress in the colour of the characters so that’s also another way of finding out who you want to trade with.
Performance Time
As it got close to the opening time, people started to line up at the different entrances. This was determined by where your location was on the ticket. There wasn’t definite signage for this, usually others figured out where to line up based on where others were waiting.
I had heard a lot of about staff checking tickets to see if the name matched for other types of concerts not Touken Ranbu in general. That didn’t happen to me though. However I was worried about it as the rules for ticketing in 2019 seemed to have changed compared to past years. The staff at the door will take your ticket and rip the stub. Then you continue ahead where they will check your bag for cameras. They will ask you this as well.
Once you are inside the venue, there was a table for all the promotional material for the actors. It wasn’t promotional material for Touken Ranbu but for their other works. There were free for anyone to take. Further along there were tables with boxes with each of the actors names on it for fan gifts.
Finding the section entrance wasn’t difficult as they labelled all the pillars. They had staff at various doorways who ca direct you to your seat if you are lost. I also noticed a lot of fans in kimonos and the audience age group was wide as well. This year they had a main stage and then an isolated stage in the middle of the venue. They alternated skits between the two. I was a little difficult to see the middle stage if you sat facing to the main stage, so you really had to rely on the screens.
Opening Skit
The opening skit started with Kotegiri Gou practicing for the concert. It’s the video that was released on youtube that featured Tsurumaru prior to the start of the Utawase Performances. He is then later joined by Monoyoshi Sadamune, Kunihiro Horikawa.
The skit is mainly to tell you the rules that need to be followed during the performance, such as no filming and photos, no smoking inside etc. And also to turn on and off your penlight at certain times. And Gou will ask what will happen to you if you don’t follow these and here is where the adlib starts.
The adlib of the skit changes per showing so you will usually hear something new. For one of the Fukuoka showing, the joke was about turning into mentaiko and the other was about having to commit seppoku.
One of the Hiroshima ones was probably the most memorable. Since the performance was right at Christmas, it was themed just for it. When Gou asked what would happen, Kunihiro replied back that you would turn into Santa-san.
Kunihiro: *acts like santa, bend back pretending that he was lugging a large sack on his back* HO HO HO
He then proceed to hand out a ‘Kane-san’ to both Gou and Monoyoshi. He said ‘For you’ (in English) as he handed it out. And Monoyoshi would reply back ‘For me’ also in English.
Now it was time for the real start. The performance opened with all of the swords appearing in Shinto clothing. Each one had their own emblem on the front and there were two main coloured groups. Red and Blue. Tsurumaru appeared with a torch taking center position.
The first skit was about a nostalgic sound that Ishikimaru heard. He was trying to recall where/what sound it was. First Kogitsunemaru entered and joined him. Then Tsurumaru entered asking to play a round. I guess it was Tsurumaru and Ookurihara that was farm duty as Ookurihara entered and made his complaint. Next Yasusada entered from behind. It was also quite cute that Yasusada did a called out to other swords when he entered the sage where Kogitsunemaru, Tsurumaru and Ishikirimaru played go. Whenever he did a hotscotch entrance he would pronounce the name and surprise Kogitsunemaru while attaching their motto line. For one instance he used Hizamarul and shouted A-ni-ja.
お百度祷歌 from this skit became one of my favorite songs and was quite memorable.
The next skit was Tonbokiri’s dream. It started with everyone, (Nagasone Kotetsu, Aoi, Kunihiro, Yasusada and even Tomoe) asking for conpeito. In the end eveyone was denied of the treat. I loved how Tomoe would enter and speak with a mouthful of dango.
That’s when his dream started where everything thing becomes a conpeito. During the last song, as he was holding on to the last note, Yasusada would gesture to the crowd to encourage use to keep applauding/cheering.
I personally thought camera work that aired on the large screen for this skit wasn’t very good. At the Fukuoka performances as they did a lot of extreme close up on the face, especially for this skit. Spi did make certain facial expressions but it could have been framed better. But it was better by the time I went to the Hiroshima performances.
After that were the 3 songs until the next skit featuring Aoi. This one was performed at the center stage.
Next was Akashi’s skit back on the center stage. His story on the incident with the Plum Blossom Tree. The idea was that when something bad happens people tend to lie. And thus using the incident of him breaking off the branch of the tree he was able to place the blame on someone else. Imanotsugi was his first victim and Kogitsunemaru was the second. This broke my heart right here when Kogistunemaru believed it was his fault!
Next up was the Tokugawa family. The Time Renegade would bring a sea beam and leave it at the middle stage. Nobuyasu who figured out the motive of the assassination attempt, tries to save his father with the help of Hideyasu. As each sea bream was pick up by Ieyasu, they would go and take it back. The first time was by slowing time down, second was where Hideyasu held up the sea bream covering his face and started talking, pretended to be the father of the one that Ieyasu was holding and was able to successfully get it back. In one of the performances Ieyasu dropped the sea bream before heading it back. The last one, they retrieved by shooting darts to make the two faint. They exaggerated the liveliness of the fish quite a bit when ever they picked up the sea bream. It was almost like almost rodeo-like.
Next skit two skits were on the center stage. Kanesada appeared in a yukata and was soon followed by Kotetsu and Aoi. The had a little talk on how they kept their hair. They sang 夕涼み 時つ風 and it was quite the surprise to see who was playing the guitar. It was Kunihiro! He appeared in his red tracksuit at left main stage playing the guitar.
‘Two Kistunes’ skit featured Akashi, Kunihiro, Nagasone Kotetsu and Otegine being fooled by a fox that took Kogitsunemaru’s form. And vice versa. The song in this one, was more upbeat and fun. The switch between the two Kogitsunemarus was well done I thought.
During the skit with pulling of the sweet potato, it was cute how Tomoe discovered this giant leaf and he attempts to pull it up, by just lifting up his sleeve. He maintained his graceful figure and pulled up the hem of his sleeve just a couple of cm, and took a step forward assuming that it was enough. Eventually Mutsunokami came in along with Yasusada to help. And they eventually roped in Ookurihara. However not without him saying that he was able to do it himself first!
During 百万回のありがとう Mutsunokami was at the upper left rafters, so I was able to see him up close during the Fukuoka Performances. There was a girl behind me who was decked out in his colours and ribbons so he waved very excitedly towards our section. Unfortunately Kogistunemaru was stayed in the middle ground level so I was only able to see him up close during the Hiroshima performances.
During the final ceremony performance, the new sword manifested. And it turned out to be Kuwana Gou! I had no idea at first who was playing the mysterious character that appeared.
Ending
At the end, after all the characters are announced, and everyone appeared back on stage, there was a short announcement asking us to not post or mention anything on twitter about the new appearance of Kuwana Gou. It was quite how everyone in the audience answered with ‘Hai’. And some of them on stage stared to make the ‘x’ symbol.
Then everyone did their comments/thanks.
The most memorable one for me was during the Hiroshima performance Imanotsurugis’ in which he pulled out a white piece of paper and said that he had message from Iwatoshi. The message from Iwatoshi asked that Master give a lot of presents to Imanotsrugi since it was Christmas. However that plan was quickly foiled as Kogitsunemaru pulled the paper away from Imanotsurugi and exposed it as a blank piece of paper.
I was disappointed that neither the Fukuoka or the Hiroshima performances had the silver and gold streamers dropped so I wasn’t able to get one to commemorate the performances this year. T_T
But overall I really enjoyed the skits this year and the song list was great too. I love hearing Spi sing live, so I think he parts were well highlighted this year.
