[pokemon-teacology]

First class of the year! This one is Invertebrate Pokéology, so I'll be focusing on things without spines. I imagine it'll be mostly bug and water types. I'd argue for grass types, too, but despite having no spines, they usually fall under their own thing, unless they're dual-type. We went over those quite a bit last year in my Green Planet module, so they might not be in this module as much. I'm excited to learn about bug types, though! They're very neat :)

one of the best gifts i think i've ever given someone was when i gave my uni friend an annotated newspaper from a different university. here are the best parts to this:

he works at our uni's main paper and this is a rival paper

it is a sex-related edition of the paper and we have. yk yk.

every three or four pages i call him a bottom in the annotations because he is and its funny

i also edited a little chart that puts different faculties into the whole "fucks, doesn't fuck, knows what sex is, doesn't know what sex is" and now he thinks i think chem students are hot (maybe i do)

i wrote abt how he inspired me to be prime minister next to an article abt prostitution.

i called him out for telling everyone that we had sex (which he vehemently denied but i know the truth)

i very thoughtfully censored every body part that 2019 tumblr's algorithm wouldn't approve of (there was so so much nudity holy shit)

i hope he likes it and i hope he gets me something half as good for my birthday

-Read Chap 4 of Sociology of Labor

-Read an article on the Lean Management Paradox

-Watched a conference challenging the idea of disappearance of Labor

-Read my project of last year on Job Insecurity and new organizational theories of Labor

-Finished the concept mind-maps about organizational theories of Labor, of notions such as Employement/Labor and about the Labor Market’s dynamics since the 80′

-Passed my exam of Sociology of Labor (yey!! Hopefully I didn’t go over the word limit). 

Going to come down of my adrenaline rush slowly now.

More GIS today! I love this class. Learning new computer systems always excites me. We're using these Geographic Information Systems (hence GIS) so that we can map out habitat types! We've been using Galar, due to the instructor being from there. So it's been nice to work on familiar maps.

It does get kind of annoying when my classmates clearly aren't paying attention to the instructions and then we have to stop the lesson so the lecturer can help them. And they talk while the lecturer is talking so I can't pay attention aaa

But it's fine! It's been rainy today which is always great, and the casual battling club is meeting later. Ralter and Flambé have had time to cool down, so I'll be keeping them separated. I'll approach the president of the club to maybe ask if putting them in some double battles together might help with our problem. I do quite like double battles.

My name is Dante and I'm a 2nd year university student from the United States. I’ve decided to finally start my own studyblr after lurking for about a year or so haha. I hope that being active on this blog helps me stay on top of things and lets me meet some cool and interesting friends along the way!

some stuff about me---

✧ I’m 18 years old

✧ genderfluid !! I tend to steer towards masculine pronouns but I'm cool with anything tbh :D whatever vibe you get from me is fine

✧ Cancer + INTP + Slytherin (ayeeee)

✧ Fluent in English and Spanish. Tried learning French a while back and failed miserably (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ but I just might try to pick it back up along with Japanese further down the road

✧ honestly this is MOSTLY a studyblr, but also sort of a personal blog because I am a mess. Will mostly try to post studying tips/self-care/notes/the occasional rant .

✧  a big nerd into anime/manga, comics, netflix, and all kinds of books. My favorite genres are horror/thrillers, action, slice of life, and urban fantasy. Send me some recs any time!

✧  Currently double majoring in health and society/human biology with a certificate in pre-health professions. Also kind of considering a minor in gender and sexuality studies??

on the academic side--

✧ I really love science, it’s the reason I came to college in the first place! Although I'm not a fan of math tbh :/ I’ve always been a hard STEM subjects kinda guy but I've grown to love liberal arts subjects as well! Philosophy, mythology, sociology, and anthropology are right up my alley :D

✧ I started off college on a pre-medical track, but after some academic mishaps on my part (lmao oops (; ω ; ) ) I’m kind of debating whether I should really go to medical school after finishing my bachelor’s, or if I’d be happier pursuing something in the social sciences?? Idk at this point

✧ My research interests are mainly in genetic engineering, epidemiology, social stratification, and the health disparities experienced by minorities in healthcare. So hmu if you ever wanna talk the culture of healthcare in America and all that good stuff *fingerguns*

✧ Not gonna lie, I haven’t been the best student in the past and my academics suffered because of it. I lost a lot of my motivation for school but !! I’m trying really hard to get myself back on track

✧ My current focus is on recovering myself academically as well as improving my mental health

✧ Long-term, I think my career aspirations are still either a physician, a social scientist/researcher, or a college professor?

why the studyblr??--

✧ I enjoy the work ethic a lot of the people in the community have and find it inspiring!

✧ I really need some accountability in my life and I feel like having this blog will help I, the perpetual procrastinator, get my shit together (´• ω •`) somehow.
