Part Two! Low-key hate how both Lances turned out but whateves.

Focus Drown: Lance can enforce a feeling of being underwater on himself and/or others. When used on himself it improves his focus, agility, dexterity, strength, aim, and his senses, except for hearing which is tremendously reduced. If he uses it on others, it replicates the feeling of losing consciousness while floating underwater (that is a terribly distorting feeling and I hope no one can relate to that). The drawbacks of using his quirk too much are excessive sweating, poor circulation (cold), and symptoms of depression (numbness, lethargy, derealization-dissociation).

Likes: the beach, garlic knots, and surfing

Dislikes: doing laundry, math, and Keith

Lance is one of the few lucky students in attendance of UALA (Yuuei Los Angeles) that was selected for a study abroad at UA Japan. While excited to travel and be selected for this once in a lifetime opportunity, he also worries about being so far away from his family. He’ll also need to practice his Japanese for the year-long study.

While Lance’s quirk by itself with his hand-to-hand combat skills would work just fine for hero business, there are always going to be scenarios where more is needed. After a long chat with his home room teacher, Adam West, they agreed that a lethal weapon (or two) would be licensed to him. After testing out a couple tools, Lance chose a long-range rifle and a retractable (concealable) sword. While Lance is still working on his swordsmanship, he took to the rifle like a fish to water. Adam will never tell him this, but he nominated Lance for the abroad program after hearing about another pro hero named Snipe over there who exclusively uses guns.

El Procedimiento

1 -Boceto rápido y factura

Luego de que me cuentes tu idea, voy a proceder a decirte el precio y darte un boceto Rápido que representará las posiciones y poses de los personajes (no las proporciones del cuerpo).

Luego, si confirmaste el Boceto Rápido, te voy a enviar una factura.

Y finalmente, cuando envíes el pago, te enviaré la fecha estimada de finalización de tu ilustración.

Dependiendo del tipo de comisión, en los próximos días te enviaré:

2-El boceto detallado

Este tendrá las proporciones del cuerpo y las posiciones de cada objeto y/o personajes.

3-Entintado

Una versión limpia donde se mostrarán los detalles, en este punto no se permitirá grandes cambios.

4- Ilustración completa

Y por último, el resultado final que tendrá el color, la luz y las sombras.

I washed the dal six times today, once for every year we’ve been together. The baby is seven months. I tell her her mamu is worried she hasn’t had Indian food. I tell her her dadu will be so excited to cook for her when we fly from our home in Honolulu to Los Angeles in a few short weeks. 

The baby has had poi, maiʻa, ‘uala. She’s had peas, carrots, broccoli. She’s had beet greens. She had bone marrow when her skin was flaring. She chews on kale and celery stalks, without their leaves, to soothe her gums and her new razor-sharp teeth.

My spouse, my love of six years, holds the baby next to the stove as I skim froth from the top of the bubbling lentils. I tell her cooking is a little witchy, that our people don’t measure, that you have to go off scent, taste, feeling. I tell her our ancestors come closest when we cook the food they like to eat. I tell her if my thakuma was here, she’d hold her full baby cheeks. She’d lean close and murmur to her in Bangla. I show baby what I mean. I cup her face with both hands. 

I add the five seeds of the panch phoron, then the cumin and coriander, paprika, red pepper, and turmeric. I add the onions I’ve browned and the onions I’ve mashed, the fresh ginger and garlic. I add salt last.

For the umpteenth time today, my mind flashes to Palestine, to all the children, the elders, the ones brimming adulthood, perished and parentless. For the umpteenth time today, I feel salt at the back of my throat.

I blow and blow on a spoon before I bring it to baby’s lips. She’s kicking her feet for it. She considers it, this new taste, texture, flavour, then coos for more. She cries when I put the lid on the pot and tell her it’s for after we go to the ocean, that we’ll let it sit and stew a bit longer.
