2023 Recap - Songs from (QL) Dramas

I've been tagged by @troubled-mind to make a list of my favorites songs from this year's QL dramas (thank you so much 💕) and of course I can't resist. I liked a lot of music from shows this year, which is great but made the selection harder so it will be a little long, I hope you'll forgive me.

OST I've been milking in full

I don't very often go through full OST unless someone does a background music playlist i can put on (Like this one for La Pluie by troubled-mind, and this one for To Sir, With Love for example) but two stood out for me this year.

My School President OST - I knew in advance I would enjoy a musical show, and I have to say I was NOT disappointed. My favorite though is ฟัง by Fourth, Ford, Satang, Winny, and the fantastic Pijika Jittaputta. Have a go at the original too!

Unintentional Love Story OST - This one came late this year for me, but i have been listening to the whole thing again and again. My favorite is Beautiful Day by Cha Seowon. I really enjoy his voice a LOT, and I'm weak for a nice, so soft it's even a little mushy love ballad.

With those two out of the way, let's go through the list country by country I think.

ลางสังหรณ์ by Teng Tachaya from The Sign

This one is just a banger! It literally rocks, and I keep belting out the chorus every single time i listen to it. I love everything about it, even the spoken words. Also, not music related, but that costume!!

เงา by Lazyloxy from Shadow

I like Lazyloxy's voice a lot, as well as the rhythm/bass line (?) during the verses. There is an edge in that song that fits the show very well, too.

พรุ่งนี้ by Ford Arun from Moonlight Chicken

Ford's voice, do I need to say more? Tbh I got a little teary the first (ten) time(s) I listen to it.This ballad is so very touching, it's gentle and hopeful, I can never tire of it.

รักคุณยิ่งกว่าใคร by NuNew's cover of Got Jakraphan from Cutie Pie 2. I loved this one so much I got myself a video editor so I could post it there. Only honorable because it's a cover, but it got me into luk thung so it deserves to be here.

เพลง รักนี้มากับดวง by Bmine & Near from Lucky My Love. This one is just because it's goddamn cute, sweet and peppy, and it makes me smile and bop my head. Sometimes I don't ask for more.

U&I by Hi-Fi Unicorn from Kimi ni wa todokanai

It's just a perfectly crafted pop song imo. It's cute, fresh and lively, fitting the show perfectly too. Since it came out, you can catch me humming "kimi ni waaa todokanai hmm hmm hmm" all day, every day, so it deserves its place on the list!

Yoruwazura by osage feat Ishino Riko from Kimi to nara koi wo shite mite mo

This one got me the second Ishino Riko started singing. The harmonies between the two are SO good! I really like the guitar in this one, and the little claps in the background. It's also really easy to hum so it stays with me a lot.

Bitter by Royce from Utsukushii Kare season 2

The contrast between the energy of the melody and the nearly bored sound of the voice (the singer sounds like their mouth does not open fully) works reaaally well for me. It's catchy and fun, and well, the lyrics are just so perfectly Hira...

ふたたび Futatabi by HIROBA & Otsuka Ai from Bokura no micro na shuumatsu

I was very surprised when I saw it was a feat with Otsuka Ai (who I only knew for her sugary pop in early 2000). The melancholy of the lyrics and the melody are beautiful, I am a huge fan of the way their voices mesh together, and I can't resist a piano + violins combo like that.

Honorable mention > Go Sign by Billy Laurent from Ameiro Paradox. The little piano, the rhythm, that chorus, it makes me shake my ass every single time.

'痛苦擁抱 (Painful Hug) by Ozone from Oh No! Here Comes Trouble

(I won't hear anything about technicality and it being a QL show or not =3) Had not realized it was from a boy group before checking the clip for this list. I like the way the melody rises for the chorus, their voices are pleasant, and it carries both power and some sort of melancholy that reminds me very much of Pu Yiyong.

Honorable mention > Come With Me by K6 from Marry My Dead Body. The whole OST of that movie is great, but I somehow got completely obsessed by this one from the gym scene at the start. It also features Austin Lin (I think as backup on the chorus).

IoU by UTOPI from The New Employee

It's a sweet, simple one that never fails to put me in a good mood, and sometimes that's enough to listen to a song non stop over months =3

Natural by Young K from A Breeze of Love

This one is also sunny, light and joyful. I like the guitars and I am especially fond of Young K's voice - it got me looking into him which I do not regret. A nice little surprise for the end of the year.

Lukewarm Take/Shower Thought: Both Boris and Beatrice's rip on Jonathan were serious speeches of projection.

(This first obvs isn't a new one for me and I worked it into UVC, but just to review...)

Boris is the one who crossed the line when he gave his number to a student for non-school related things. That's why Jon huffed at his assertion that he knew the line and was (especially with that Male Gaze crap on his phone) BUT...

Beatrice crossed her line when she said he was the "banner boy for mediocrity". Beatrice is an alcoholic semi-successful (I mean...she has to be somewhat successful, but she still lives pretty humbly near a backwoods area with her teacher husband? I ttly forgot that in the OG script she says that they can't afford a lawyer for Jon, but I went the other way in UVC) writer but her writing might just be mediocre. She's not gifted like Jon perceives Cairo to be, because she downplayed his enamoring of her vocabulary. For all we know, she writes Dark Romance (LOL "Lesser Expectations of a Greater Love"...sounds bitchfully autobiographic).

Perception is the key here. Cairo was drawn to Jon's writing because it's like hers (as per the exchange) and vice versa. She felt something tangible when she read that passage; and she wanted to be the inspiration for his writing like Bea was.

She gave her honest opinion before she recited the passage ("grand and tragic"/"romantic horror").

Lookit that frowny pouty face. Poor baby. 🥺💔💕✨

She was mad/hurt when she dissed it. (And Jon was nothing that Cairo said he was when she was drunk.

Jon never put himself in front of her as some kind of famous or even wonderful writer. She did that. And Winnie recognized that she was only dissing his work bc she got rejected. Not his fault she rocked the pedestal, or even that she idealized him in that way. She saw herself in him...two ghosts haunting a graveyard.) It's that whole thing about how beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Argh, I need to save some thoughts for the reviewlysis.

Also, it's real sad that he was emasculated twice by two different women in the same manner. But at least Cairo has room to learn/grow.

I mean, I think I'm decently musically gifted (and the only reason I know this is because I've never really had any lessons LOL). But I definitely think there's an experience aspect to it. Progress in the negative space

So as I mentioned a couple days ago, my mother and sister have arrived in Cambodia, and while it’s really cool, it’s also kind of reminding me a lot of why I decided to pick up a career path that took me on the other side of the world.

(I could, probably, have managed to stay in Europe, but that’s beside the point.)

I’ve said it before—though possibly not here yet—and I’ll say it again—though probably not where my parents are likely to find out—but I’m fundamentally incapable of living my own life with my family nearby. I don’t think it’s even their fault at this point, really.

I mean, I’ve spent most of my family life feeling judged and being found wanting—I never got the feeling that I was enough for them, that I was ‘worth’ them, so to speak. I don’t think that’s what any of them are going for. I’m pretty sure they want what’s best for me, even if we’re all too awkward to properly communicate about it.

(And also the fact that I’m sort of hypersensitive to anything they say doesn’t help.)

The fact remains, though, that I never feel like I’m enough for them.

Ever since I came to Cambodia, I’ve lived my life with an intense sense of liberation. I’ve been able to deal with things the way I wanted to, to make my own rules and my own habits and my own friends without having to hear my parents tell me they didn’t get me/my life choices/whichever—my experience living in Scotland for 9 months in 2011-2012 was definitely a lesson for us all in that respect—and that was great.

Amazing, even. I didn’t notice it at first: I was too caught up in the everyday quirks of anxiety to pay proper attention to it. New country, new city, new job, new people, the list goes on and I’m sure it’d keep anyone a little stressed out tbh.

But ever since my mom and sis got here I’m acutely aware of the way I stress myself out trying to figure out ways to keep them entertained (occupied?) in a way that suits and pleases them, to spend as much time with them as possible (pretty much trying to reorganize my life around them because they did shell out the plane tickets and fly for a day straight to visit me) and present the best possible version of my life.

(It’s not working as well as I’d expected. I spent days saying I needed to clean my flat before my mom could see the filth, but I still ended up brooming through the dust while she and the sis were there. I don’t think I’m ever gonna get rid of that instinct.)

I don’t think I realized how much pressure I put on myself to look and sound ‘perfect’ in front of my mom (my dad is...a complicated business) until I spent six months without it and then slipped back into the habit ever since Thursday. I’m not sure why I’m so terrified of her judgment—I know it’s normal to want your parents to be proud of you, I’m not quite sure that kind of proportions is exactly in the ordinary range—but I am and it’s exhausting.

It makes me feel like, unless I have something exceptionally intelligent or fun to say I should just keep my mouth shut—but then I sound like I’m bored with them so isn’t it better to stay away? Except then I’d look like I don’t like them or something, so I spend time with them and feel awkward and judged and anxiously wait for it to be over so I can breathe.

It’s illogical, for the most part, and if anything it’s just exhausting and stressful and brought me nothing but neck ache and a ridiculous amount of sweating today, on top of the heat...and yet I can’t detach myself from it, because I’m terrified of the moment the other shoe will drop.

(My family is pretty vocal about being displeased, for the most part. I’m not sure it’ll ever stop scaring me, or that I’ll ever get another response than feeling worthless when this displeased state is vaguely directed at me.)

I don’t know. I’m happy to see mom and the Sis. we’ve had fun moments, and I did genuinely miss them, but at the same time sometimes I feel like they probably think I’m stupid or a slob or something? It’s kind of like they’re giants—or good enough at pretending they are to fool me, because I know for a fact the Sis and I have a lot of issues in common, and I’m starting to suspect it’s the same with our mom—and I’m desperately trying to claw my way out from between them before they crush me without noticing.

I wish I could feel different about this—I’m not sure if that entails making me different, or them, or both, but I do still wish I didn’t feel like that about them—but I do.

Sometimes, I wonder what that might mean for my life later on—how I’ll deal with these frankly impractical feelings and whatever life I manage to build for myself, in Cambodia or elsewhere. I mean, there are so many things that didn’t seem so scary anymore for the past six months, sometimes I don’t even recognize myself.

I’ve made friends, I’ve discovered new places, I’ve started exercising (though I haven’t actually exercised for the past week, in part due to my issues) I’ve started trying not to put my abilities or accomplishment down so much (doesn’t work too well where my mother is concerned, but still). Hell, even the thought of getting in a romantic relationship doesn’t sound so scary anymore from here, that’s how good Cambodia has been for me.

(As an aside: I’m really, really glad about that. I did wonder if I’d gone crazy back when I first accepted this job...now I’m mostly hoping to keep it for however long they’ll have me xD)

Honestly, I’m happy with what I have here. I’m not sure I’d talk about pride just yet, because I don’t feel like I’ve actually worked for it all that much (I.e: actually sat down with the clear intent of doing something as opposed to just...let things happen, I suppose?) but I’m still happy with it, which is pretty cool.

so you want to know about the one and only. ♡😌

yuzuru hanyū (25) of sendai, japan: the most beautiful ice prince with a heart of gold.

….an artist clearly not of this world, he’s been sent to us from another realm. 19 world records, two olympics won, dubbed the greatest figure skater of all time. and the most precious bean on top of that.

but let’s start from the beginning, shall we ♥︎

so, want to spot yuzu on the ice? use this checklist. slender silhouette, an even slimmer waist, feather-like outfits (he sketches those himself; the fandom lovingly calls him swanyu), soft blushy face. he has great androgyny.

outside of performances, you see him either with a deer’s gaze or the brightest, biggest eye smile. also, he’s usually found sitting with his wife: 

which is the ice 😄 these two are together forever. you can discern yuzu from a mile away by how he treats his working ground. 

there is a purity to him. you’d not guess that this is one of the most ardent athletes if you didn’t see what’s around his neck after competitions. the guy’s cuteness is as compelling as his skating technique.

look for it: yuzu’s face is super suave and rosy up close, even after his most energetic performances. some men are handsome, others pretty, he is both. 

even acoustically, he’s hard to miss. applause is all around, and he’s highly expressive. if you see a crying young man getting the high score, that’s yuzuru hanyu. you’ve not seen more beautiful happy tears.

and score reactions, anyway:

so, aye loves, the rumors are true. a cutie-pie off the ice, animated, a real unabashed meme — yuzu is easy-going, talkative. cheery, cheeky, one of a kind. his facial expressions are a league of their own.

if you thought this is the sort of guy who watches cat videos, you are correct 😄

yuz-uwu hanyu, everybody:

his undoubtedly feline behaviour is often unexpected, it stands out with its adorableness, too. a sweetheart par excellence. 

and, how else could it be: vice versa, the big beast on the rink. he’s cutesy, dorky, very well-spoken in daily life, but when it comes to skating, his seriousness escalates. you blink once and suddenly hanyu is a bedazzling, strutting lion :’D his performances stun with confident elegance.

he becomes full of ardor, drama, and focus. you’d never suspect so much fire burns in him. a showman and ambition icon, hands down. 

his skating is dynamic, perfected, and emotional. if you want to see art and the extra mile, tune in when hanyu competes.

the downside is; more light, more shadow. it leaves him crawling on the ice afterwards. yuzu performs so hard, it’s worrying.

he delivers it all. you won’t believe it:

this guy is an asthmatic.

the symptoms aren’t as bad as they used to be, but there are still regular attacks. he said that he’ll never take it as an excuse and often recalls how he started skating because of it. he’s a badass, extremely inspiring. yuzuru defies all limits, including gravity. his jumps have legendary status. 

off the rink, you guessed it: he turns into a wholly different person. 

it all dissolves completely when he’s dorking around again. 

don’t let it deceive you, he’s the no other option than first place type. he could not be any more decorated with titles, he achieved the grand slam in all competitions as of 2020. and still, king of sportsmanship hanyu is respectful and smiley towards all colleagues and never lets anyone feel left out. especially when it comes to his juniors (e.g. yuma kagiyama, 16, below) which says a lot about him.

he bows in every direction before an audience, too. lower than a 90° angle, even. this is more polite than any existing formality in japan.

talk about audience: i introduced fellow japanese skater shoma uno last week, who’s more uncomfortable with social contact and aggression. yuzu, extrovert he is: the exact opposite. he withers away with no people and competition. he’s befriended rivals, had crises over not having someone who could challenge him. when a competitor retires, he’s the one crying in their arms (e.g. with team mate and bff javier fernandez from spain below).

beside his competitive spirit and princely wow factor, hanyu is popular for his winnie pooh tissue box that he caresses, squeezes, and carries everywhere. he loves good luck charms & rituals, pooh is the most important one.

fans throw pooh plushies on the ice after his performances because of it. since it’s gotten so intense, yuzu recently started cleaning them up himself on top of the flower girls for the upcoming skater who could get delayed otherwise. (more about what happens with the piles of plushies later.)

so, the burning question is. 

what made yuzuru hanyu emerge so outstanding an entertainer? how does someone causing so much uproar become like that? it’s not just what kind of appearance he was given, although he really looks his part to a T. you don’t have to be an insider to see it right away.

like literally to a fault. and you can tell the way his blades sound on the ice is different. it’s soft even if he does the most hardcore quadruple jumps. i think it’s because his drive to do this is a higher one, hanyu has an altered relationship with the ice. where his devotion comes from has a more severe reason so, massive trigger warning. 

this is no exaggeration: yuzuru is considered a hero to the japanese. a survivor of the earthquake 2011, he narrowly escaped the collapsing rink in his hometown on that very day. he’s often talked about how the ice shattered underneath his feet and it was the moment that defined his life forever. he could have been dead by the age of 16. his motivation has been set ever since. this man is compelled by something bigger, that’s why you hear it and you feel it. he wants to skate not just for himself but others and seize every day. 

much of his copious charity work — that’s where all the pooh plushies go — went to mend the consequences of the tsunami ever since, he’s looked upon as a great hope in japan. the minister gave him the people’s honor award in 2018. 

now you know why yuzuru has such a fanbase and treats the ice as sacred, you see it in every gesture. his manners are without a single flaw, he helps staff repair the ice after performances. 

you might think it’s odd, but he honors the ground. he’s invested in the integrity of it. that’s why he’s the best skater. it’s gratitude and the will to live fully.

he hates to fall on the ice, he hates to damage it. alongside his feathery weight, that’s why the sound he makes while gliding along is so tender. 

i think that’s also why hanyu’s signature element is the ina bauer. it doesn’t rely on brutal force, instead this element slides across the rink like a swan. yeah, oh my god.

it’s his most well-known dramatic move. the way he surrenders into it. 

hanyu’s back arch and perfect split allow him to do elements no other male skaters can. his biellmann spin, for instance. i know, it’s ridiculous.

and those are just two elements of dozens and dozens. hanyu is a kinetic wizard. i highly rec this record-breaking delivery of his olympic program. in front of his home crowd! he’s just… mind-boggling. i live for his smiles here.

exceptional skater, exceptional mentor: it’s time we look at another puzzle piece that made yuzu the way he is. the masterful brian orser is hanyu’s beloved coach. missing gold by just one mistake at the olympics 1988, brian is now committed to give others what he couldn’t have— successfully so.

orser took the ice prince to gold twice, this hasn’t happened in 66 years. brian is the nicest and most supportive pooh carrier and yuzu’s utmost rock. hanyu’s talent rests safely in these hands.

he gets strict about punctuality lmao! but other than that, his guidance is gentle. canadian he is, brian’s courteousness mixes well with yuzu’s politeness. their bond is strong. as. hell. 

brian picked up yuzu from rock bottom several times. most fateful being hanyu’s accident with a fellow skater during competition warm-ups nov 2014. they collided at a high speed, it was unspeakably nasty. yuzu got knocked out for half a minute and had grave breathing problems but still decided to skate on with what later turned out as an almost-concussion. brian was the most worried ice dad in the world that day.

yuzu cried and crouched and bled like mad and my heart has been broken ever since. i hope he never suffers like that again. promise me you don’t search up the video, it’s a harrowing watch like a stab to the chest. sadly enough, hanyu’s body has still been a notorious wreck, esp. ankle issues regularly give him a hard time 😔

it hurts like a bitch with every jump landing but he takes meds and still manages to win, god knows how. sometimes even with crutches on the podium. at his worst, he’s still the best, it’s a tragedy.

he’s been recovering, or always is, but he pushes himself through injuries. his ambition and perfectionism are boundless. the cause is more important to him than his well-being. this is not an easy guy to stan once you see how he sacrifices and self-destructs. so, it’s good someone protects him. 

mostly from himself because nobody has profoundly surpassed hanyu. he has let himself no choice than to contest himself. not even health, only age can stop yuzu. i think that brian understands this ‘curse of a genius’ effect. his mere presence can make hanyu say these rare words:

his two other coaches contribute to that. tracy wilson (left) has proven to understand his playful side the best while ghislain briand (right) helps yuzuru deal with his fears. so you got 3 people taking care of the golden boy. brian once said: “he is very sheltered” and you can see it’s true.

yuzu eased into learning english and communicates well with his coaches. like with everything, he studies hard and often forces himself to speak during interviews to practice. his skills are astounding. his speaking voice is also very soothing, very amicably low and high alike. yuzu is highly intelligent. he always says something eloquent and interesting.

now, privately, hanyu is very much like you’d expect someone so devoted to skating would be like. he doesn’t go out, has no social media, can’t eat nor sleep very well. no cameras allowed during practice. it figures he is attached to winnie pooh, think about it. in the cartoon, pooh is someone who sleeps, eats, and engages with friends plenty. 

these are the things hanyu can’t do, doesn’t have time/energy/incentive for. he is barred from balance in life but can at least admire this little carefree plushie for it. especially because pooh represents eating lots while yuzuru doesn’t have a good relationship with food (he says it doesn’t go well with jumps etc.), hanyu lives vicariously through him. 

what’s more, you have to see how he throws himself onto others and never wants to let go, yuzuru is extremely cuddly. 

to the degree that mere social customs can’t meet how much he really needs. so, what else can he resort to, he loves mascots and plushies. it’s how the tale goes in japan generally, tough work ethic, high responsibility, high pressure, so people turn to cute fluffy things.

he always fondles pooh’s head, even pretends he’s come to life so he has someone to snuggle with. i think that his isolated lifestyle doesn’t help. so, he gets his affection at least there, you can see how happy it makes him. and again: he does this all for charity.

that’s why fellow skaters are so important to hanyu. it really brings out his social spirit and comforts him best, it’s so wholesome. i’ve not seen someone react so relieved to being embraced, like he’s not been touched for months. skating this, skating that. at the end of the day, hanyu wants love.

as he once said, what motivates him is to express himself in the first place. hanyu is a romantic. it’s written all over him. it reflects in his music choices, his elegant motion, how he designs his outfits:

… and how thoughtfully he talks about marriage. he has big plans for starting a family and coaching after he retires. i won’t be the only one squeezing lucky charm pooh in my imagination so it turns out well for him. please make this heart of gold heal and see all his wishes come true ♡🐻

Also I’ll be writing for the Orlando parks bc that’s what I know, and I also know celebrities often go backstage to avoid ppl but for the sake of this post it’s just a normal date out with Jimin and no celebrity treatment J Besides, who better to go to WDW with than the Disney Prince himself??

·      waking to a very excited Jimin flopping on top of you, embracing you close enough to him so he can half-whisper in your ear that “it’s time to waKE UP :D”

·      you playfully pushing his head away with a whine to glance at the clock on the bed side table in your resort room – 6:55 am

·      “jimin wtf this is supposed to be a vacation day, where u, u know, take it easy and sleep in”

·      “but baby…the parks open in two hours”

·      “right…two hours…so let me sleep another half hour”

·      “NO D:” he practically shrieks, he’s full on pouting now, tugging your arm to help sit you up

·      “I mean…we need the extra time to do our hair and coordinate our outfits :((((“

·      you sit up and rub your eyes to fully take in his pouting form, eyes as big and sweet as you’ve ever seen them

·      “well…I can’t argue with that”

·      spending the next hour picking outfits that are comfortable for a day in the parks but complement each other nicely

·      both of you styling and putting product in your hair mostly just to take cute selfies together and pics in front of the castle bc you know it’s all gonna get destroyed after an hour in the florida sun

·      when you turn the corner on Main Street and see the castle and both just stop and stare with wide, happy grins for a few moments

·      jimin giving you a toothy smile and sweetly grabbing your hand to get in line for castle pictures

·      after one (1) silly pose jimin ignoring the photographer’s ideas for different poses bc he just wants to take pics in front of the castle with his arm around your waist and his lips on your cheek bc he knows the blissful, eye-closing grin that brings to your face and he wants as many pictures of that as he can have to keep forever

·      then going back and getting in the long starbucks line bc neither of you ate breakfast in the two hour period you used completely to prep for the day and you need your caffeine to make the most of your park day

·      sitting down on the hub grass in front of the castle to make some last minute adjustments to your fast pass selection for the day

·      rock paper scissors bc you want to fastpass haunted mansion and he wants the many adventures of winnie the pooh (but it doesn’t really matter bc you both know you’ll wait in the standby line for the losing person’s ride anyway :)))

·      giggling to each other whenever you get to use your magic bands bc you both specifically ordered matching ones

·      jimin lightheartedly grumbling at how the splash on splash mountain was much bigger than he expected and just flat out ruined his hair and won’t believe you no matter how many times you tell him he still looks amazing (but that doesn’t mean he’ll try to stop you from continuously telling him that either)

·      screaming your head off on space mountain which just makes jimin uncontrollably giggle behind you the entire ride so the ride pic ends up with your face like DX and his like XD

·      having way too much fun in the gift shop after you ride pirates of the Caribbean trying on different pirate gear and taking goofy pics of each other

·      jimin posing in his chest-out, hands on hips good boy pose for you with a big fluffy pink pirate hat on which you promptly make your new lockscreen

·      grabbing a dole whip and rushing over to the people mover so you can just take a breather and enjoy views of Tomorrowland

·      you have a soft spot for alice in wonderland and get on the teacup ride only for jimin to have WAY too much fun aggressively spinning the ride as fast as possible to get a rise out of you

·      you feel a lil sick but his childlike giggliness is too adorable for you to not take snaps and video of on the ride

·      you make a stop at Prince Charming’s Carousel after supper and jimin ends up just standing next to you on your pony, an arm around your waist as you enjoy the ride (since he gave up his horse next to you for a very little princess who really just had to have the same horse he chose)

·      you pretty much just gotta stare into his eyes the whole time tho bc you can’t believe how beautiful he looks, grinning, all lit up with the night sky in the background and the carousel lights glowing in his eyes beaming at you

·      you can’t really wrap your head around the fact that you are, in fact, dating a real life Disney Prince

·      taking sneaky candids of him after the ride with the carousel as the backdrop bc you wanna remember how beautiful and happy he looked in that moment forever

·      making your way to the front of the castle as fast as possible to get the best viewing spot for the fireworks

·      jimin grabbing your hand right when the lights go down for the show to start

·      you know the fireworks always make you emotional but you weren’t expecting for the waterworks that burst forth from within you this time

·      there’s a difference between enjoying a fireworks display lighting up a real life castle and enjoying it when you’re deeply in love

·      jimin sensing your emotion and the weight of the moment

·      you being just a complete mess by the time “I See the Light” from Tangled is playing so he tilts your chin back with his finger, places a hand behind your neck and claims your mouth with his own, fireworks ablaze in the background

·      you’re fully self-aware of the cheesiness of the moment but you really could care less and really wish you could just stay there and hold on to the happiness you feel in that moment, with jimin, forever
