He flipped when he saw you for the first time since he was returned home after star labs

It wasn't even in person

He saw you online

You with the outsiders on your social media pages

He had so many questions

1. What happen to you

2. Why are with the outsiders

3. Why had you never gone home

So what did he do

Call jaime

1 was easily answered

You had been taken and tested for a meta gene by mada trafficking

And you has been saved in the first few rads

2 was also easy you had wanted to help so you did as a hero with your new powers

3 he had to ask you him self

So jaime got you to go to lunch with him and a friend

Hey you didn't know who the friend was

Till you saw tye sitting alone

You walk over and greeted him like it has only been moments since you spoke last

He was shock to see you

Over a year has passed

"What happen" he asked completely skipping the greeting

" a lot" you said calmly "got taken, because and lab rat, broke free"

You talked for hours till the restaurant closed for the night

Then you talked more

You both opened up

3's answer was you had not wanted to go home after your life was flipped on its head

After months you unofficial started to date

Soon if was official and kinda long distance yet not as you visited a lot

Till he mives to Hollywood to get away from his moms boyfriend

Then you moved in together after 4ish years

Life together was amazing

You spit house work

You also helped him with his power and controlling it

His grand father love you more than tye honestly

For a late prompt: YJ El Paso gang trying to have fun during a heatwave. Bonus points if somebody gets water poured over their head.

"In my defense, I warned you," Jaime said as he brushed his hands against some long desiccated vegetation.

"You did, but I was getting way too cooped up to not visit you," Traci said, lounging back in her tank top and groaning. "Drink."

Jaime obliged, fishing out a sweet tea from the cooler and handing it to Traci. She promptly put it on her forehead before taking a few sips.

"See, this is why shorts are the best leg wear," Paco said. "It is discrimination that there are places where men are only allowed to wear pants."

"I will lend you a skirt in a second if you want, Paco," Brenda said.

"Do they look better than my mom's?"

Tye held up an umbrella between him and Asami. "Jaime, what I don't get is how you're wearing pants and a hoodie. It has got to be a hundred degrees by now."

Jaime looked down and shrugged. "Khaji Da says it's easier to adjust my metabolism to keep cool than to produce a sunscreen to lower skin cancer. Speaking of, I have extra and it's been two hours."

"No, I hate the feeling on my skin!"

"Paco, do you want the lecture on skin cancer from my mom and from Khaji Da?"

Paco grumbled and held out his hand for the sunscreen.

Traci looked up and smirked. While Jaime was giving out sunscreen, she went to the cooler and took out a bottle of water before pouring it over Jaime's head.

"Traci!"

"What? I'm just giving the scarab less work."

Everyone swore they heard a faint tittering from the scarab.

"Ugh, let's just go watch a movie. The theater has air conditioning, and if it's bad we can make fun of it," Tye said as he wiped his brow off.

"And no more sunscreen!" Paco stood up. "Suddenly that sounds like the best idea ever."

(in Japan it's typically considered impolite to acknowledge a sneeze, but after a few times, she'd say something. Iirc blowing your nose esp around other people is gross & impolite, too.)

It's me again from the overexcited ramble from earlier BUT I'M NOT DONE

Bart knowing about Gar before others feels so real because he's spent his childhood surrounded by people who felt like Gar does right now, and maybe Gar (not to mention Bart himself) felt like that in the future as well. I wonder how well Bart knew BB in his own time, if he ever really knew him at all, and if it has impact on their current friendship

Oh to see the effects of Bart's childhood on his behaviour in the present, you've sprinkled bits and pieces, and I'm taking it all in like a starving man

And the Thawne DNA confirmed!! GOD it was so good, the love he has for his mom and the despise he has for his grandfather (not Barry obviously) is perfection, I hope Thad got what he deserved when Bart got out

And FINALLY the recognition he deserves with his intelligence, like you said: he knows his stuff. So happy to finally read a fic which shows that Bart is GOOD at what he does, he built a time machine for heaven's sake!

BUT ALSO TYE WAS SUCH A LEGEND LMFAO I love the friendship (or more like feigned frenemyship?) he has with Bart, their dynamic in your fic is hilarious

yeah i like to think that as soon as gar came back from Mars bart took one look at gar and was like damn he’s going to be going through it

i just imagine mental illness would be extremely prevalent in bart’s original era, i think it’s by-product of a post-apocalyptic society that makes too much sense. And with no system in place to treat it as normal, well bart must have seen some pretty intense stuff

honestly i really don’t know (or have an idea lol) of how well bart new gar in his TL, in my opinion he didn’t know him personally at all. I’m usually in the camp that most of the team had died in one way or another in bart’s time. The ones that i usually do think he knew or knew of “in person” some what at the very least are Barbara Gordon, Wally West (this is a maybe), Lian and maybe that’s about it. It varies with either more members or less, hoe stay i’m unsure, but these r the ones that i typically think of. With how coy bart was when he first came to the past and spoke to gar, honestly anything is possible though lol

i just usually don’t think that the original members were as involved i. his childhoos as some fics make them out to be, one of the biggest reason is because i think the ones who were alive, dispersed to different locations to take part in rebelling etc so it would make it hard for him to know many personally, he might have heard of and gotten details, but beside that it’s really up in the air. The only HC i sometimes think of /include is Barbara Gordon being the one to teach him how to read/write etc education stuff when he was really young and the tornado twins were still alive (so before he was 5), but other than that, idk

“Thawne DNA confirmed” sdfghjkl LOVE THIS, yeah u heard it here first folks, it’s confirmed 😁 jk lol yeah it makes me super happy to include it in AAIT i feel like it really fleshes out his backstory on time related things and i just love all things related to him and his mom and his thawne side, it’s just very satisfying to think about so being able to explore that and HCs in my fic, very fun. I have such a specific vision for Thads involvement in Barts and (ofc as a result) Melonis lives and there will be a little more on that in future chapters, so stay tuned 🤩

PREACH omg the only thing that’s left for us is to see the day his wiki page is updated on it !! capability and intelligence to me is such a key bart feature idk if this make any sense but it just is lol i’d update the wiki myself if i could try to understand the editing process i just don’t have the energy to go thru reading all the rules or figuring it out to do it rn

tye + bart friendship is everything to me i just feel like they’d be rlly entertaining together just so much potential lol

you know that what if show marvel has? i am the only one who wants a what if show but with dc characters, espically one spefic to young justice. There are some many possiblities with with a what if young justice alone. what if instead of virgil being the only one who joins the team at the end of season 2 he's the only runaway who doesn't? what if tye got the beatle instead of jaime? What if bart died instead of wally? endless possibitles

I find the contemplation of what if scenarios so fascinating to think about - it's the whole reason I named this blog as I did - because I’m fully aware that none of the things I say on here will ever canonically happen but it’s still fun to think about what if they did… Like you said anon, endless possibilities! I love this idea of yours - a yj specific what if series would be so cool to see - two that always pop into my mind whenever I watch Illusions of Control are…

What if it was the cotton candy that had been poisoned and Ed was the only one left standing…?

What if Bart and Ed never made it out of that boom tube during the fight against onslaught…?

Or a cheeky third one… what if the higher ups had allowed Bart and Ed’s relationship to be canon onscreen the way we know it’s supposed to be!?! Oh, the possibilities of what could have been!! 😩 Nope, nope - we’re not going down this rabbit hole again… I do apologise if you’re not interested in Bart/Ed ramblings - they own my soul and usually find a way of being brought into the conversation… :)

ANYWAY, back to your what ifs… I am very much intrigued by the one where Tye gets the scarab instead of Jaime… that would be such an interesting scenario to explore…

Mainly because with Jaime, he was always able to be the voice of reason and ensure scarabs violent suggestions were never acted upon… however, with Tye, I don’t think that would be as definite a case… unlike Jaime, who has been surrounded by a loving, supportive family he’s whole life, Tye has had to endure living within a very toxic and abusive home environment, left feeling powerless and under constant threat because of Maurice’s dominance. That difference in experience creates a very different perspective when it comes to whether one should or should not do something in the name of defence… not to say Tye would go full on villain mode if he possessed the power of the scarab, but put him in front of Maurice with all that power and I don’t think he’d be as dismissive of scarabs suggestion of “defence” as Jaime was when he went up against the jerk.

Ngl… I’m a little bit obsessed with this idea now - thank you so much for sharing anon!

"So," Bart said, unfurling his map of Central City, "I've been listening to the chit chat and the talk about all the best places to trick or treat for a month. I made up a plan of attack to get the most, the biggest, and the best candy!"

"That's amazing, esse," Jaime said, "But I kinda promised my ma I would take Milagro trick-or-treating in El Paso."

"Aren't you a bit old for trick-or-treating?" Tye said.

Bart huffed. "Well, I never trick-or-treated before, and the age limit is 16 in Central City, so I am taking the free candy holiday for whatever it is worth."

"Fair enough. And what is your costume?" Tye asked, flicking imaginary dust off his shirt.

This was where Bart grinned the most. He disappeared for a second, then came back in full apparel. "Tada, I'm Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!"

Tye and Jaime looked at each other, then back to Bart. "I guess it works? Technically?"
