”vote red to make America great again!”
Make America great again? Haha, more like take a fat shit on the graves of everyone who fought in the revolutionary war by letting Trump create a dictatorship and completely tear down everything they fought to stop.
Look, we all hate Joe Biden. We all wanna stop the genocide in Gaza. But Trump is gonna support Israel just as much as Biden is, so our choices are basically “genocide” or “dictatorship AND genocide”. And voting third party is just gonna increase Trump’s chances of winning, or else that would be my advice.
if you don’t want America to oppress every minority, women, people of color, LGBTQIA+, ANYTHING that’s not straight, cis, white, male, and christian, than clench your fist, grit your teeth, and VOTE BLUE.

if you are pro-censorship, you are not my ally. Not in feminism, not in queerness, not in anti-racism. Bad actors aren't going to just censor the things you don't like; they won't stop. Sure, they'll sweep over the explicit incest and pedophilia, but then, just like the fancop teenagers have, they will start stretching those definitions to include everything that they dislike. Calling queer people pedophiles is a textbook example of queer oppression; you don't think conservatives are gonna use that as an excuse to burn books about trans joy and wlw/mlm experiences? Because they will.
If you are pro-censorship, you are not my ally.

struck today that trans guys in the UK are being told 'you're setting yourself up for a lifetime of medicalisation!!!!!' by scandalised older women who bemoan their 'having breasts removed that have never known a lover's caress' (yes that's a direct quote, fuck you allison bailey).
But apparently birthing a child, which literally shrinks your grey matter and permanently alters your body - significantly effecting your quality of life with incontinence, hernias, loss of sexual function/sensation, not to mention depression and body dysmorphia as your entire body literally changes forever and you suddenly have a dependant human that will be with you for the rest of your life...that's just something you can do on a whim with no need for anyone else's input or approval. 'Oh you can just have the one' 'it's not that hard' 'yI know it was an accident, but you might as well keep it'.
Apparently AFAB bodies are only allowed to be permanently changed and 'medicalised' for the benefit of others - the production of children/new tax payers, and not for the actual person inhabiting them.
Like, AFAB people don't just owe the world their bodies for the pleasure of (predominantly) cis straight men. They also owe them their health and body functionality.
Terf rhetoric literally frames AFAB bodies as a community resource.
Terfs are inherently against bodily autonomy.

Y'all? Texas has pre-filed 32 anti-trans bills in the last 5 days.
(Please read "pre-filed" again. These have not passed as of time of writing.)
HB1123 would impose stricter laws on sports by requiring every athlete in the state to undergo a chromosome test.
(Really, truly hoping I don't need to explain how this is not only devastating for trans and intersex people, but all athletes in all age brackets, as well as incredibly invasive and expensive.)
HB239 would bar transgender individuals from using facilities in any publicly owned building in Texas. Park bathrooms, rest stops, schools, state-run hospitals, major airports. Texas already has a “bathroom bounty” law, which allows cis people to sue trans people for using bathrooms, promising a minimum $10,000 payout for successful claims.
HB 1075 would allow anyone performing in drag to be sued for $5,000. The bill’s definition of “drag” and “perform” is broad. “Exhibiting a gender that is different from the performer’s gender recorded at birth using clothing, makeup, or other physical markers” This definition clearly includes trans people.
(And would almost certainly mean no Pride parades across Texas, where transgender people and drag performers dance, party, etc.)
Senate Bill 86 would require parental permission for high school students to join a Gay-Straight Alliance or any club that “promotes themes of sexuality, gender, or gender identity.”
Senate Bill 84 mandates that government documents classify people based on their “biological reproductive system.” The bill doesn't address intersex individuals or those with congenital conditions that prevent them from producing gametes. It says, “biological differences between the sexes are enduring,” and those differences “warrant the creation of separate social, educational, athletic, or other spaces.”
(All my information is from Erin Reed, a trans woman, journalist, and activist. You should follow her newsletter, she's wonderful.)

Here's a fun idea. Don't comment on what people eat or if they're losing/gaining weight. Doesn't matter if you thought it was a compliment. You don't know why that may be happening. Some people lose weight when they're anxious or depressed (or of course suffering from an eating disorder). You may have meant well but it can be triggering or upsetting

There is a Rampant and Vicious Cycle in the Online Left That Needs to Be Addressed
Every leftist needs to understand that not every proclaimed leftist is a safe person or one that is acting in good faith. Many people in this sphere --even if they are minorities themselves-- are Abusers. Let me be clear: they are Abusers REGARDLESS of --NOT because of-- them being a minority. Despite this, many of them have weaponized their standing as a minority in order to get away with their behavior and achieve what they see as some form of power and control over others. Let me be clear. I am referring to those that:
Manipulate and lie about pressing situations (especially when it's to harm another person or demographic)
Excessively use idpol to either elevate themselves to holier than thou levels ("listen to ___ people but only when it's something I agree with, which just so happens to devolve from constructive change to making others grovel and plead forgiveness endlessly before me") or belittle others (ie their skin color, gender, queerness, disability, neurodivergence, religion, age, etc.) in order to discount their point or not treat them as equal human beings; yes, even if their skin tone is white or if they are men, abuse does not have to be backed up by systemic issues in order to be abusive or at the very least harmful (sidenote: this does not apply to people talking about their experiences as a minority that is otherwise not experienced or understood by others, the issue I'm pointing out is when it's twisted to cover everything not directly tied to their identity and proclaim themselves as the only ones allowed to be the voice of reason, therefore shutting up everyone else and to avoid any constructive criticism or discussion)
Act on rage and at times even trauma to bring forth harmful ideals (ex: truly hating every person of a demographic, wishing for a genocide, making actual death or rape threats towards someone or a group, conversion, etc)(sidenote: I'm not discounting those that have trauma and even have harmful thoughts, just please seek help and understand that it is not healthy nor sustainable to paint or alter reality to be in line with what trauma makes you believe)
Actively try to get others they don't agree with to either permanently leave the internet or commit suicide and even celebrate when either happens
Excessively test others on their "purity" on unachievable standards to the detriment of everyone and Leftism as a whole (purity culture is fueled by christian culture in order to disguise doomerism, accepting defeat when change is not possible, of which is the very thing that will kill leftism)
Infight over weird made up issues (remember how divide and conquer is a war strategy? To split hairs and discount others for non-issues is to do the work of conservatives and nazis for them)
Shut down people or discussions over minor slights such as using an incorrect word/phrasing or any numerous perceived mistakes (example I've seen here: berating a person with schizophrenia (or a trans person or any other minority) for using a derogatory term for themselves when they're talking about how everyone else is speaking over them and not listening), ignoring the hypocrisy or not taking into account any number of mundane causes such as non-native english speakers, generational gaps, being in the process of learning (either recovering from harmful beliefs or simple ignorance), using those terms to prove a point (such as that example I mentioned above), neurodivergence, etc.
Not letting others talk about their experiences of oppression when those experiences don't match theirs, instead opting to call those people bigoted for contrived reasons
A rejection of nuance, intersectionalism, and even reality to better suit their goals (ex: claiming that every trans man benefits from the patriarchy and can never experience misogyny)
Misuse of therapy speak and terminology in order to water down those terms and render them near meaningless so they can weaponize them under the pretense of their original use (ex: gaslighting), or to cut off any need to connect or sympathize with other human beings and instead speak to them like a PR message (refer to this video by Zena and Poppy for reference)
They never speak on true leftist/progressive ideals or positive change, they only engage in destructive discourse or any behavior listed above
Making baseless dangerous accusations towards someone they don't like. Before you go harr harr you're doing that, I'm not calling out any specific person and am merely listing dangerous behaviors I've seen people here act out. What I am referring to are when someone casually calls someone specific a predator (or whatever else) with absolutely zero proof and expecting everyone to believe them no questions asked. This has been shown to ruin people's lives
Any other similar behaviors not included in this list (as well as classic logical fallacies), but what I've mentioned above should paint you a good picture
Every example I've pointed out were REAL EVENTS I've seen from people that proclaim themselves as leftists or even just progressive, and sometimes are even minorities themselves (some even infight against their own communities using the behaviors listed above, often out of internalized bigotry)(an example of a real event that happened here recently were when several people were making rape threats towards a trans man by the username of @a-faggot-with-opinions). To be blunt, I'm pointing out exclusionism in practically every form, asexual discourse, transandrophobia, TERFs/radfems, TEHMs, tankies, "cornbreadtube", nationalists and ethnonationalists, and all else I don't have the terminology for For many of the people that fall under that bullet list I would hesitate to even refer to them as leftist or progressive, as they never seem to actually show they act on it or even believe in it, only making an appearance in those communities for their own destructive personal gain; hell, often times they have ideals that directly go against what those communities stand for! Examples include TERFs with white supremacist beliefs, transandrophobes that are misogynistic, ethnonationalists that are antisemitic, puritans that are ableist, the list goes on forever. Once you know what to look for, you can see the hidden or overt bigotry behind their false "progressive" statements
No one is infallible No one is better than everyone else You are not immune to propaganda No one is immune from behaving abusively
These people are dangerous, whether they actually qualify as abusers --as I've been referring to them as such for brevity and impact-- or are people that are engaging in hurtful or fully abusive behavior (use this paragraph as a disclaimer, I of course can't know if someone is an abuser in real life unless there is documented evidence of such). Regardless, they are hurting the left and are letting the right win
If you see any of these behaviors either 1) take caution if you're unsure, 2) block them, or 3) if you have the fortitude, call them out. Either way, use your best judgement and think for yourself (or discuss with good faith leftists if you're uncertain). And remember, often times (albeit not always) they are actually fully aware of their disgusting behavior and are choosing to act maliciously, not ignorantly.
Stay safe, log off, do what you can to support your local community and leftism as a whole, don't let these people distract from the real issues at hand. Have empathy, if you don't have empathy then act in compassion, if you don't or refuse to do either please do not engage in politics. Misanthropy has no place in matters concerning humanity.
And remember: we have to stand together in unity so we can create a better future for all

The thing that gets me the most about intersexism is the fact that... it doesn't matter how many intersex people there are - no matter if they are as common as redheadheaded people or anybody else - when the intersexist sees human bodies and their states as a inherently a political battle, an agenda to be "won," the intersex body will always be an "anomaly," something crude and unnatural, regardless of how oxymoronic the "unnatural natural body" is.

Just told off one of my southern relatives on Facebook then closed the tab really quick cause I got a rush of anxiety lmao.
They asked, "What do you think now that the left has been exposed?"
I said, "I hope you get everything you voted for. Including me not involved in your life as a trans and disabled person"

I just found out that women can’t get their tubes tied until they’re 25, married, and has at least one son and one daughter, but a 19 year old dude can just walk in and get a vasectomy, no questions asked???? Wow, time to add this to the list of “Reasons I Fucking Hate My Country’s Government”. Also, fun fact, Ancient Romans used to crush a man’s testicles between boulders if he was found guilty of sexual assault. I think we should bring that back 🥰

Hi everyone. So I've been considering doing this for a while because I post a lot about it on my main blog but there are almost 2,000 of you following me here so I feel like this will have more impact.
As I'm sure you all know, there's some absolutely awful stuff going on in Palestine right now. To put it frankly, we are watching a genocide happen right now. Palestine has been colonized by Zionists for almost a century now, forced out of their homes, killed for no reason, had their basic rights denied, and now the Israeli government is actively trying to wipe them out. I want to make something abundantly clear. I am not here to debate this issue with you. I am firmly pro-Palestine, and there is no reason that homes, hospitals, and evacuation routes need to be bombed. No. Reason. If you are pro-Israel, maybe this isn't the competition for you.
Instead, I am here to tell you what we can do to support Palestine! Right now, it might seem like a pretty hopeless situation, but we are capable of affecting change. Currently, while donating is always good, it's very hard to get resources into Palestine. Also, donating isn't always feasible for everyone. Instead, here's what's recommended:
Boycotting. Right now, there are boycotts going on against pro-Israel companies. Now, to boycott every company supporting the Zionist movement would be very difficult, so there is a specific list of companies to target. There's the big three, Starbucks, McDonald's, and Disney+, and then the BDS has a list of the more minor companies to focus on boycotting. By focusing our efforts on these specific companies, it'll be a lot more effective.
If you're in a country where this is a viable route of action for you, contact your government officials! Tell them to call for a ceasefire! In the US, that means Congress, in the UK, that means Parliament. Even if it doesn't seem like it, this does have an impact. In the US particularly I know that representatives are so out of line with what their constituents want that their staffers have started pressuring them to avoid being so pro-Israel.
Finally, keep talking about this! There are a lot of issues in the world that have a surge of activism around them only for it to fall out of the public eye. Keep reblogging information and Palestinian testimony, keep posting resources, and keep the pressure on for a ceasefire!
Also, I want to make it extremely clear that the actions of Zionists do not speak for the many Jewish people of the world. Zionism does not mean Judaism. There are so many Jewish people out there standing with Palestine, and I won't tolerate any antisemitic or nazi ideology as a result of supporting Palestine.
I know this isn't exactly what you expected from a competition about childhood books, but this is an issue that all of us should be worried about. I'm not an expert on this, and I highly recommend checking out other sources on how to help, but I hope I can help get the word out.
From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!

For a long time now, transgender people, allies, and medical and psychiatric professionals have been warning that attacks on gender-affirming care, privacy, and bodily autonomy harm kids.
Now, those warnings have been horrifyingly validated.
Researchers have found that states that passed anti-trans laws saw suicide attempt rates rise by up to 72% among transgender and nonbinary youth aged 13 to 17, and by 44% among those aged 13 to 24.
This study surveyed over 61,000 transgender and nonbinary people, and controlled for factors such as state by state differences, race, age, and the impact of COVID-19.
You can read the full article here:
It's been said many times, and now there's yet another piece of proof:
Transphobia is not about protecting kids.
Transphobes like terfs pretend they're trying to save children from some sort of evil "gender ideology," but - as usual - science proves that their bigotry only hurts the people they're pretending to protect.
And yet, right-wing politicians keep doubling down on their anti-trans attacks.
They've been warned again and again that their hate-based legislation hurts kids. They don't get to claim ignorance as an excuse.
They're knowingly choosing to endanger children's lives for the sake of their own bigotry and careers.
Remember this when casting your votes.

Was someone going to tell me that George H.W. Bush was Regan's Vice President? Or did I just have to learn that from reading Booster Gold's original comic book run?

An (un)friendly reminder that being religious doesn't mean you deserve special privileges.
No, I'm not talking about being able to have breaks at work for praying or having certain kinds of foods available for you. What I'm talking about here is your ''right'' to discriminate against others and deem others morally inferior for trivial reasons because of your religious beliefs.
You are not justified when you tell lgbtq people they're morally wrong / perverted / going to hell / whatever because your religion says that about lgbtq.
Same thing goes for literally any other group of people: for example, telling people of color they should apologize for being black / brown every single day or else they are going to hell is not justified, even if your religion says so.
Well, in a way you're allowed to voice your opinions, no matter how discriminatory or hateful they are, but then you better not have the nerve to complain about the backlash you get in response. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom of consequences.

Love (sarcasm) when people go, "we should normalize fatphobia LOL 🥺". Fatphobia is the norm, you just don't like that fatphobia has the possibility of people realizing that you aren't as decent or well-rounded of a person as others might have thought before. If it's such a problem that people don't like you for your disgust and hatred of others, then your only options are to either accept that or, better, work on your biases. That isn't the fault of others, and it's certainly not other people's responsibility to coddle your hang-ups with other people's existences.
