Engineers, search dogs sent to Turkey, Syria after quake
Structural engineers, soldiers, paramedics and handlers with trained search dogs are heading to Turkey and Syria to help locate and rescue survivors of Monday’s earthquake. Here’s a glance at the assistance that’s being provided: — The European Union has mobilized search and rescue teams to help Turkey, while the bloc’s Copernicus satellite system has been […]

5 years of invasion in Rojava
Five years ago today, the Turkish army invaded the self-governing territories in northern and eastern Syria.
After weeks of threats and a green light from the USA, Turkish troops crossed the border on October 9th and began shelling the border towns.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) put up fierce resistance for almost two weeks until a ceasefire agreement was reached on October 17. By this time, the offensive had already killed hundreds of people and displaced almost 400,000.
In response to the attacks, tens of thousands demonstrated against the advance and in support of the self-administration.
To this day, the areas between the towns of Gire Spî and Serê Kaniyê are occupied by Turkey and allied Islamist militias in violation of international law. There have been no consequences for Turkey to date.

Elon Musk’s wars: Brazil to Australia, UK to US, the X owner’s many battles
The billionaire has taken on multiple governments, claiming he’s fighting for free speech. But often, his business interests and political views are in play too.
Tumblr media
Throughout history, the world’s richest people — almost all men — have often operated from the shadows, taking on governments they don’t like quietly.
Not the world’s current richest man.
In recent months, Elon Musk has taken on government after government, mostly left or liberal administrations, in public online wars centred around his claim that they are curbing free speech. But often, the spats have also come amid attempts by governments to regulate social media — where Musk, the owner of X, has a direct business interest as well.
From Brazil to Australia, France to the United Kingdom, and of course the United States, here’s a look at the battles Musk has stirred, and how they’ve played out for him and his companies.

While we struggle to stop the climate change and the ecological catastrophe, the Turkish state actively destroys the ecosystems in one of the most fertile regions on the planet, the crescent fertile, in the center of the Middle East. That's why we need to #StopTurkeysEcocide

I can't find my original post considering it's a year or two old at this point but when I said "the most horrifying thing is when no matter wherever in the world something awful happens you look into it and the US is at least partly responsible", I was explicitly referring to how, because the Republic of Turkey is a member of NATO, the US has a vested international interest in ensuring that the Armenian genocide is downplayed, ignored, dismissed etc. which, given the scope of the US empire, means it has all the tools necessary to do so.

Corporate Governance Consulting
Tumblr media
Corporate governance consulting plays an essential role in enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of companies operating in Turkey. The country hosts a wide range of domestic and international firms, all of which must navigate a dynamic legal and commercial landscape. Corporate governance consulting ensures that companies comply with international standards while optimizing their management, auditing, and operational structures. By implementing best practices in corporate governance, companies can not only improve their competitiveness but also ensure long-term growth.
What is Corporate Governance in Turkey?
Corporate governance refers to a framework of rules, practices, and processes that direct and control a company. The primary responsibility for corporate governance typically lies with the board of directors, who are accountable for managing senior leadership, conducting audits, and organizing key meetings, such as general assemblies and board meetings. These activities must be carried out according to both Turkish regulations and international standards to promote transparency and accountability within the company.
The Four Principles of Corporate Governance
Globally, corporate governance revolves around four key principles that all companies must follow:
Transparency – Ensuring openness in all business dealings and communication.
Fairness – Maintaining an impartial approach to stakeholders and employees.
Responsibility – Making decisions that prioritize long-term success while upholding ethical standards.
Accountability – Being answerable for decisions and the overall governance of the company.
Companies that adhere to these principles can build stronger relationships with investors, employees, and customers, ensuring sustainable growth.
What is Corporate Governance Advisory?
Corporate governance advisory involves offering professional advice and services to companies to help them establish and maintain sound governance structures. A comprehensive corporate governance advisory service includes:
Drafting policies for hiring and overseeing senior executives.
Ensuring regulatory compliance across all operational areas.
Developing strategies for investment and risk management.
Guiding structural changes within the company, such as mergers or capital alterations.
Corporate governance consulting services also play a vital role in establishing companies in Turkey by aligning their operations with international standards for accounting, auditing, and management. By enhancing transparency and accountability, these services help companies operate more efficiently and ethically.
Legal Framework Governing Corporate Governance in Turkey
In Turkey, corporate governance is primarily governed by the Turkish Commercial Code (TCC) No. 6102 and the Capital Markets Law No. 6362. These legal frameworks have evolved in response to global economic changes and emerging commercial needs. The 2024 amendments to these laws reflect the ongoing transformation of corporate governance practices, offering companies clearer guidelines and more flexibility in managing their affairs.
Key revisions to the Turkish Commercial Code include changes to the roles of the board of directors, such as eliminating the annual election requirement for chairs and vice chairs and updating procedures for calling board meetings. Additionally, the minimum capital requirements for both limited liability and joint-stock companies have been increased significantly to encourage stability and growth in Turkey's corporate landscape.

This post won't do shit and I cannot say anything bad about the government nor critisize it but I have had enough honestly
The government banned any pornographic content, Wattpad, Roblox, and Instagram now
And i have to say, why? There are countless problems ranging from economic to social and instead of working on these, they decided to restrict our access to internet, social media and in a way freedom of speech
This was mostly made to rent but eh, it feels good when writing about this

the moment you make a gesture on live television that's used by fascists, especially in germany where they're so strict about anything related to extremism as expected, you deserve that ban and if you can't understand that then maybe you need to revaluate your morals, absolutely nothing to do with xenophobia or islamophobia but rather the dangerous rise of the far right in europe
the way this made me laugh so hardddd lmfao. "bb.. b .. but germany is soooo strict about anything related to extremism and facism🥺"💀💀💀 sister I'm asking you. IS THAT GERMANY in the room with rn cause the one I know (and lived in for a few years AS a muslim turk which was literally a nightmare ) is like ummmmm actively funding a genocide rn!!!! Crazy right..... maybe they are worrying about the wrong fasicm and extremism ( a muslim and turkish football player doing a symbolic hand sign just like many other football players do to present their country but its apparently not facistic when they do it ) and should rather focus on the racism inside their government AND the extremism ofc (literally sending war support to zionist nazi israel so they can kill more children and bomb peoples houses) or mayyyyybe they just have double standards and they think they can decide what is wrong and what is right just like the rest of most European countries🤔🤔🤔 me personally I wouldn't think that ANYTHING that government does againt a person who isnt white, christian, european is not racially motivated. Next time you pull shit our of your ass like that and then tell ME to "revaluate my morals" think twice❤️❤️you look stupid boooo🍅🍅🍅

Pain/pain meds updates!
I have found a fucking unicorn pharmacy. Where after calling I'm not joking 14 stores to see if they had my oxy in stock they had almost the full prescription (but I had to take less cause of the holiday) and they are so fucking nice and kind and they let me call a week ahead so they can order the meds and make sure they are there for me and I almost cried when they said that no one has offered that in IDK how long
So I called the corporate number compliment them, and that lady was also so nice and understanding and she was so on board with how much the opioid crisis has affected pain patients and she thanked me for calling in to compliment cause apparently people do NOT like doing that but they do like calling in complaints! That lady was so sweet and she said they get send the stores the compliments and they pin them up in the employee area 🥺
Remember the pain app I fucking hated doing? Well they are closed as of Dec 1st! They didn't even make it a year!! Yay for me tho but really sad for the nurse I had cause she told me she had just started my first month (which was like 3 months ago) and now she is out of a job:(
I now have anxiety cause I feel like I should tell other people about this amazing pharmacy but if too many people go this pharmacy and it gets too many patients it might mess up my getting med so now I feel bad about that lol

Really really don't get why so many people seem to have this burning hatred for Ukraine where they'll just... bring them up randomly purely to drag them through the mud and it's like... ok... but... do you actually know a single thing about Ukraine or what's been happening there?
Do you for instance remember when a major dam was destroyed by russia causing massive ecological damage?
Like I'm dead serious here, can you tell me a single thing that's happened in Ukraine in the last 2 years? Can you in any way demonstrate any basic understanding of the situation?
Cause if not... why do you think you should have an opinion on it, especially if your opinion is gonna be how awful people getting bombed are?
Just legit bothers me and... even more so bothers me the number of smart and caring people I see doing this. Basically I'm not even trying to be rude here, I'm trying to remind you to pay attention and remember that not everything you read on the internet is true, a tumblr post isn't a source unless they're giving you a reputable source
Cause like me? I can go track you down articles about the Nova Kakhovka dam being destroyed, and I can talk about all the reason why it's pretty clear that russia destroyed it
Can you do the same for me? Can you back up your claim about Ukraine with something concrete?
In many ways I'm not even asking you to support Ukraine, I get we have a limit to how much we can focus on, it's ok if you focus on your cause and I focus on mine and... both of us giving our undivided attention, maybe we both make some small impact on the world
What I'm asking is you don't be an asshole for no reason. You don't need to throw Ukraine under the bus. Don't you think your cause stands up on it's own two feet?
And again I'm not Ukrainian, I don't know as well as someone there, though... I spare you a lot of the stuff that crosses my dash because I don't want to burn people out with horrible stuff, but please understand it's worse than you probably think
So no, not Ukrainian, but I'll tell you why I'm still worth listening to: I've followed this every day since the invasion began. I keep my ear to the ground. I do know a fair bit and again can back what I have to say up
Anyway, my plea is to just not be a dick to people for no reason. The correct number of bombed civilians is zero, that's my stance
#still fucking haunts me the video of this zoo keeper just crying as she films the flooded zoo#and you can just hear all the animals screaming in terror as they slowly drown#and... there... there just wasn't anything anyone could do#the water was coming up too fast... they didn't have time... they didn't have the equipment to move them#it was really only the birds that survived cause they at least could fly away when their enclosures were opened#I really do mean haunt; like... the second I think about it... just kind of gnaws at my insides#and that's just one video of one thing from one event#anyway; to pivot slightly; not that I want to call everything I disagree with russian propaganda#but there's various stuff I can point to and draw a pretty solid line between it and russian propaganda I think#as in; if I popped open sputnik right now I think there's a fair chance I'd find an article on it#...like the biolabs thing; that one I literally did that with and guess who was spreading it? the literal propaganda site#like man... you're smart; you're so brilliant... why on earth are you falling so hook line and sinker for this stuff?#Ukraine ain't your enemy man#where as russia; again I can draw a direct line between them and say... the suffering of the Iranian people#between russia and the election results in Venezuela; to my understanding russia literally has ships off the coast right now#and it's a fact putin congratulated maduro despite there being a number of issues#such as... the total percentages released by the government totaling 109%#listen man; I'm not stupid; I'm susceptible to propaganda too; you think I don't know that?#but I can at least show my work and I can at least explain my motivation and I can at least lay it all bare#maybe I'm wrong... maybe#hard for me to think I am when I see hospitals being bombed... kinda tend to think the people who do that are bad#(and why... why do people keep making it a pissing match instead of saying 'it's bad no matter where it happens'?)#but maybe I'm wrong... at least I can walk you through why I'm coming to the conclusion I am#and just fuck me... all I want is a world where no one's getting blown to bits for the crime of being alive#do you actually have any grasp of geopolitics?#not as in like... this or that theory or some bullshit about why america good; america bad; whatever#I mean can you actually draw a line between things happening around the world and tell me how they relate?#like... can you talk about India in relation to other countries; can you talk about Modi's politics?#(I can't stand Modi and I think I have some pretty good reasons such as his treatment of the Muslim minority; he's a nationalist)#can you talk at all about Turkey; or Armenia and Azerbaijan?
