Good God. Hello. I'm freaking out a little bit now. I have just realised who you are. And I've just realised you follow me... which means one of my favourite (if not MY FAVOURITE) fic writers on ao3 is mutuals with me on Tumblr.

I have genuinely recommended your fanfics to people and they plague my mind... I think about your writing all the time. You have a serious talent. And there's so much PASSION in your writing. With each word, I can just tell how much you love the characters you write, how much you love to write in general. It's heartwarming!

I found you through BibliophiLe, and I was so excited because no one writes Monokami!!! I remember just being in awe as I read because you're seriously one of the few people who capture Monoma perfectly. ALSO, the way you portray Kaminari is literally the best in the entire fandom. Everyone loves doing him so wrong for some reason, but you are a genius in the Denki department. Both of them are done really well by you, which is so refreshing for characters who are often mischaracterised by the fandom!

Then there's Living in B Minor, WHICH IS CRAZY because IIRC you weren't really well versed in musical stuff and you learned so much just to feed us!!! Honestly, Monoma's backstory in that was so goddamn tragic but wow, your world building is impeccable. You really understand how to write characters working through trauma.

And!!! I've just literally finished Half Empty/Half Full. TOTAL WHIPLASH from the angst that Living in B Minor gave us, WOW. I love fluff. It is 100% my favourite tag on all of ao3 and a whole fic of my favourite rarepair just being cute together and working out their relationship. T_T SOOO GOOD.

Also I've become so attached to Monoma's sister!!!!! I love her in all your writings!

Oh, and I haven't read the Monobaku oneshot yet but I'll be sure to do that soooooon!!!

But God, ok this is getting kind of long. Just. Thank you for writing these characters so well. Thank you for sharing your work. Thank you for existing. AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!

How to Stop Hating Everything You Write

1. Don't be afraid of making mistakes.

Quit judging yourself for every mistake you make along the way. Whether you're writing fiction, fanfiction, or nonfiction, just write. If you can't correct your errors as you go, that's okay. When I don't have the brainpower to multitask, I focus on the writing stage one step at a time. Just write!

2. Don't aim for perfection.

"It's not ready if it's not perfect." That's a lie. When you're in the process of writing, it's best to concentrate on getting your thoughts on paper.

3. Seek feedback and learn to receive it.

Join lively communities with active writers or forums that host events inviting writers to share their work for critique. Not every critique is constructive; learn to discern which feedback to take on board and which to ignore.

4. Read, read, read.

You can't give what you don't have. You learn a lot from reading similar pieces in your chosen genre. Reading is also a source of inspiration that fuels your writing process.

5. Cut yourself some slack.

Writing is no small feat. It takes talent to formulate a story with your mind and skill to visualize it for others to see. Do you love writing? Then keep doing it because it takes practice.
