i think the primary reason why K/S has such overwhelming appeal is and always shall be that it is, at its core, a soulmate bond that has to be forged. the only way a t'hy'la bond can manifest is through shared toil, hardships, and undying devotion; it must be given effort and put together piece by piece - but at the same time, by the nature of its creation, it alters all realities on a cosmic level, to the point that Kirk and Spock must meet in every universe.

t'hy'la is not spontaneous. it is not a soulmate mark, it doesn't spring to life at first sight or first touch or first word. it is destined - because it is chosen, time and time again. you cannot have one without the other

Candyman was the very first horror movie I watched and my introduction to Tony Todd. I watched that movie with my mom and sisters at the age of 6. Let me just tell you that I didn't sleep for weeks!!! I avoided mirrors. Because when you looked in the mirror and called his name out three times. He will come for you. Me and my sisters would wake each other up at night if we had to use the bathroom. And we all slept in the same room together. But, that led to my thirst and enjoyment for horror movies. This man scared the hell out of me!!! But I loved him so much. He was a great actor!!!!

Remembering Tony Todd 1954-2024

Actor Tony Todd has died at 69. He is highly revered by genre fans for the Candyman movies and the Final Destination series. My favorite of the former was the first one Candyman. He was great as the title character.

Todd as Kurn on Star Trek

He also had strong supporting roles in Platoon, Colors, The Crow, and Hatchet. He was also a big part of the Star Trek universe for playing Worf's brother Kurn on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

"It was a weird time knowing we were 8 or 9 weeks away from oblivion." Of his Enterprise experience, Keating added, "My one regret was not getting to direct an episode."
