Embrace of the Vampiric Night

Once a year, as whispers of Halloween danced on the wind, I—Hercules, an alpha male, sculpted like a Greek god in my shiny gold Adidas tracksuit—found myself drawn to the outskirts of town. The fabled Blackthorne Mansion loomed before me, its once regal structure now cloaked in shadows and the echo of forgotten tales. Rumors spoke of treasures hidden within, but my heart raced not for gold—but for the allure of the forbidden.

As I stepped onto the creaking floorboards, a feeling of electric anticipation tingled through my veins. My muscles flexed beneath the metallic sheen of my attire, every ounce of strength primed for exploration. Darkened corridors enveloped me, the air thick with history and whispered secrets.

Then, in an alcove draped in cobwebs, I spotted it—a shimmering gold cape, lined with velvet, glinting seductively in the sparse light. Enticed, I approached, fingers trembling as I draped it over my shoulders. Instantly, warmth surged through my body, the sensation both thrilling and alarming. It was as if I had awakened something dormant within me.

As the fabric enveloped me, I felt my senses heighten—colors became more vivid, sounds sharper. Then, as if pulled by an unseen force, I caught my reflection in an antique mirror. Staring back at me was a creature of divine allure: the fierce gleam of my eyes, sharpened canines, and the promise of real power.

A rush of exhilaration overcame me. I had transformed, not all at once, but rather in ways I had never dared to dream. The mask of humanity was cast aside, replaced by a primal essence that craved the unthinkable.

Driven by the thirst of the night, I stepped into the darkness, ready for whatever—whoever—awaited me. I had become more than just a man; I was a vampire, cloaked in gold, ready to explore the pleasures of this breathless new world.

someone needs to grab me by my neck and stop me from making a meta post about idw soundwave and the cassettes and about how his insistence that they are equals (or at least some of them are equals) is in direct contradictory with how he actually interacts with them/how their dynamic is written throughout idw. because as much as i do think they are generally a group that cares and relies on each other (minus ratbat, who has 0 reason to gaf about any of them and vice versa), i,,, ough. its messy.

i do not think this is a weird character writing moment, i actually think it's SUPER interesting to think and talk about. but i can't,, i shan't,,, unless ✍️👀

Day 8 of drawing a guy on my whiteboard for inktober, it's the fastest Autobot around!

I'm trying to draw characters that I like, but haven't had the chance to draw, or want more practice drawing. Tbh I've tried to draw TFP Smokescreen a few times, but I can't seem to do him well, so I end up drawing someone else!

Okay so obviously I want to talk about the final three lines of the trailer. Because assuming these are actually part of the same statement and haven’t been edited together for trailer-drama, this is both really interesting and REALLY unsettling.

You see, on it’s own the line “What if you could leave Ruby Rose behind? Shed like an old coat?” feels like typical villainous ‘leave your quest’ temptation. ie; “Being the Hero is just so HARD. Wouldn’t it be easier to just give up?” Or in this case; ‘abandon those qualities that make you the hero’. We’ve all seen it’s like before.

BUT then we get the following line “What might happen... if you don’t?” And this adds an entirely new dimension to the conversation. It adds so many implicit questions to the previous lines: “What might happen if you don’t shed your current self? What might happen if you continue on as you are now? What might happen if you don’t change who you are?”

And taken in conjunction with what we’ve seen of Ruby character arc, this changes EVERYTHING. At this point, I think we can all agree that Ruby’s character arc will serve as a critique of her staunch, overriding sense of heroism and force her to reckon with where it is actually leader her. That for the past three volumes, Ruby’s staunch heroic ideals have led her barreling down a path to self-destruction.

Which all means that this line of dialogue might NOT actually be some villainous temptation, but rather a character driving Ruby to question WHO she really is and just WHERE she is headed. That this character speaking actually has a point.

That Ruby actually DOES need to change.

Which frankly, feels all too fitting for a character who’s semblance allows her to deconstruct and reconstruct herself as a molecular level...
