As of We Are the Beaker Girls, Tracy Beaker is working in an antique shop. Imagine if she came across Hetty Feather's journals. Imagine Tracy discovering this scrappy, temperamental, determined Victorian girl who grew up in an institution, loved writing, chafed against authority, longed for family. I think she'd make a connection with her and become very interested in the life she made for herself.

My favourite authors
1. Jacqueline wilson- wrote books such as Tracy beaker, Hetty feather, Katy, and wave me goodbye.
2. Katie kirby- wrote the Lottie brooks series (I love them so much for no reason)
3. Robin stevens- wrote the murder most unladylike series
4. Sharna jackson- wrote the high rise mystery books
5. Gabrielle zevin- wrote tommorow, and tommorow, and tommorow (long name), memories of a teenage amnesiac, and elsewhere
6. J. K. Rowling- I don't like the fact she's transphobic but I like harry potter so she makes my list
7. Paola battala!- I don't even care that Jackson's diary isn't a book it's a masterpiece 🤌
I know most of them are children's authors but I'm still legally a child sooo 🤷‍♀️

[ID: Tumblr post from @partywithponies reading: “New terrible tumblr poll tournament idea: The Jacqueline Wilson Character Trauma Olympics. You have to pick which of two a Jacqueline Wilson characters has had the worst/most traumatic childhood and is going to be the most psychologically damaged by this in adulthood.” /End ID]
Hello, this is the terrible tumblr poll tournament, trying to figure out the definitive (as voted by tumblr) worst/most traumatic Jacqueline Wilson character childhood/adolescence.
All characters from children’s/adolescent’s books or short stories (including things like “Leonie’s Pet Cat” from Paws and Whiskers) by Jacqueline Wilson will be included, however there will be a form, both for seeding, for bringing up characters I might’ve missed, and for submitting your propaganda!
Other polls: @john-bracket @tournamentdirectory
(I don’t know many other polls, so, hi john bracket)

Mum re-found the kids DVDs zip-up pouch book thingy. I love so many of the DVDs in there! So many are safe and familiar and nostalgic in a good way.
There is ones like Bagpuss, Mr Benn, Camberwick Green, Flash Gordon, Cult Kids Classics, The Muppets, Tracy Beaker, and lots of other films I watched as a child!
The pouch they are all in has "pages" with slots on both sides for DVDs. And they flip like a book. There is actually too many DVDs in there, so some are just sitting loose between the "pages", a few have separate plastic sleeves over them which sit between "pages". And some of the DVDs in there are blank with just the title written on 😆.
I am going to love rewatching many of these! A few more that I can think of which is not in here is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and Fifi & the Flowertots. I watched those DVDs over and over and over again as a kid! Especially Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the 1971 film, not the 2005 one called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) when I was a bit older.
I don't think we ever had a DVD of it, but along with Fifi & the Flowertots, I also loved The Tweenies when I was young. And Sooty & Co/The Sooty Show/Sooty and Sweep. And In The Night Garden 🥰. And Noddy!
I would love to get DVDs of those if I don't have them already (oh, and Tots TV too!). I am pretty sure we do have Chorlton and the Wheelies somewhere. And we might have Rainbow (but not sure of that).
I still love all the TV programmes I watched as a kid. And a lot of those were programmes my parents watched, so many of them are from quite a while ago.
Anyway, Bagpuss time now!! I have seen all episodes of this countless times. And I never get less excited!
Mum does impressions of the noises and voices and songs of characters from Bagpuss when I am in the bath. It makes me laugh 😆😄!!

I make fun of how many Hetty Feather books there are now despite it originally being marketed as a trilogy (9 novels that she's in plus a 10th that's in the same world since it features characters from the other 9 books), as though I don't absolutely praise everything about Tracy Beaker to the high heavens. As though there aren't 8 assorted novels, novellas, and short story anthologies starring Tracy Beaker plus another novel that exists in the same world because it features other characters also found in those books.
As though this compilation didn't exist once:

was reading Tracy Beaker: The Dare Game and I want to weep and sob over this specific bit
"I've got it all sussed out. I'm going to dust all her dinky little ornament and vacuum the carpets and Mum will think I'm s-o-o-o useful she'll never ever get fed up with me and send me away again"
that's so devastating can we put Carly into like a paper shredder or something I've had it up to here with her

So I finished watching Bridgerton season 1 a while back, like it's been a couple of months and I've been procrastinating watching season 2 because I've seen so many reels and yt shorts of Kate and Anthony that at this point i feel like i know the whole story.
but last night, as I was trying to sleep, and I mean really trying, counting sheep, doing cognitive shuffling, my mind suddenly went blank. Completely empty, only for Lady Bridgerton's face to pop up, and my brain short circuited because it realised that the actress who played Lady Bridgerton also played Tracy Beaker's mum.
It felt like a revelation. I was struggling, my mind cleared up from all the fog, and then I saw it. How could I have been so blind? The way I sprang up in my bed shocked.
I know it might not be that shocking or surprising to y'all but I am floored.
