Gentlemen thieves/ top hat classy thieves are characters that I love really much so of course I created one myself !
I don't have a precise background for him yet, something along the lines of "retrieving lost family heirlooms and seeking revenge"
His family mysteriously disappeared in a fire when he was a child, and he got adopted by an older noblewoman under a new identity. Now working as a police officer alongside his shenanigans, he tries to find by who and why did his family perish in that fire at their home many years ago. He commits heists under the name of "Le Lièvre" (The Hare) Has a pet bunny he calls his little "Arsène Lapin"

just had a dream that ryan bergara came to my campus, and that he and i had the same idea to walk to this food place nearby that had amazing deals on that specific day. i stood behind him in line, but the line was long so he left. i went through the line, got a plate of food, and woke up mutterering about shrimp and sausage 😭

allergies are literally legally classified as a disability under the ADA in the united states.

an allergic reaction is a medical event and can potentially be a medical emergency that requires medication and/or hospitalization. the amount of work that goes into managing a food allergy is unfathomable for those not affected by it. and the lack of education about food allergies is ridiculous.
My hot take is that actually food allergies are a disability and more people need to realize that. The amount of research people with food allergies have to do when they want to go visit places but arent sure if they’ll have access to any food there is insane. Allergy friendly food is almost ALWAYS incredibly expensive in stores bc of all those fucking fad diets that like yoga instructors and middle age soccer moms make popular. And on top of the price, it is so hard to FIND! Almost evrry grocery store ive been to has a tiny ass allergy section that is almost always near empty. Plus what about people who don’t have the money to pay 10$ for a loaf of bread? You go to starbucks and non-dairy milks are like 70 cents extra? People are definitely out there buying and eating stuff that is destroying their digestive systems because they have no other choice. I am begging people to stop pretending that catering to people’s food allergies is elitist and not worth is. We need to make these options openly available.

I don't know if you've ever been to Paris before, but I recommend going. Normally, I would not have gone, but I made a really rich enemy on IRC and he spent a lot of money to have me kidnapped and brought to his home country. While I was there, I got to try a bunch of restaurants (they're hostage-takers, not barbarians) and came away impressed. Something was missing, though, and herein is my genius idea.
In Paris you can get any kind of food. Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai: and it's all good. All of it. You literally can't find a bad restaurant. At one point, I walked into a convenience store and got a plate of one-Euro nachos that made me cry at the beauty of the arrangement.
Everyone around me was taking this for granted. Having lived there for years, their quality threshold had crept invisibly upwards until nothing could impress again. They needed something to re-calibrate their sense of truly bad food. That's where I came in. After I got kicked out of the country, I decided to come back with some investor support. I can burn cereal, usually by roasting it gently with a blowtorch on the top of an old gas can. Investors were easy to find.
Our first week of opening was tremendous. Hardened Parisians were discovering their first taste of truly incompetent food. The novelty of it all had captured them. There's just one problem, though: after making an entire lunch rush's feast of poorly-cut toast in reheated canned soup, my cooking skills began to improve from sheer experience. The complaints began to change tone. You got too good, they cried, you're not the same bad chef we once loved. Again, I was deported.
I looked out the window of the plane as it left De Gaulle, staring down onto the beautiful streets of Paris. Down there, I imagined, real gourmets were now eating food out of trash cans out of desperation to recapture what they had experienced with me. If there is one nice thing to be said, I now have two Michelin Stars here in my homeland of Canada, where my consommé-and-grilled-cheese recipe is now so much better than most of our restaurants that it made the Prime Minister Herself come and spit in my face for ruining the economy, before awarding me an Order of Canada. It's not the same.

My sister-in-law wanted to try Ms. Chi Café because she’s a Top Chef fan (the owner is Chef Shirley Chung). The menu even features the cheeseburger potstickers Chef Chung made for one Top Chef challenge. The café serves Northern Chinese and elevated Chinese American food – noodles, dumplings, fried rice, etc. The drink menu includes boba tea, slushies, wine, espresso drinks, tea, beer, and cocktails. For dessert, they have mochi donuts (regular and vegan). There are weekday lunch specials. On weekends, there’s a brunch menu.
Vegan mapo tofu ($18): silken tofu cubes, roasted mushrooms, spicy Sichuan peppercorn, chili sauce. This was inedible even when eaten with steamed rice because it was SUPER salty. Ugh. One star.
Steamed jasmine rice ($3): seemed dry. Even the rice wasn’t good.
Sauteed yu choy hearts ($11): Chinese greens with whole roasted garlic cloves. Mr. Froyo asked for no garlic but it still came with garlic. Plus the whole garlic cloves were barely roasted. There wasn’t much garlic flavor because of the way they cooked the garlic whole. Mr. Froyo said the veggies were swimming in way too much sauce.
The jumbo cheeseburger potstickers and chow mein looked greasy.
Service was friendly but the food seemed to take a long time to come out even though they weren’t busy. They brought it all out at once, so maybe that’s why.
The interior is cute – white and pink walls with velveteen chairs, a tiled bar area, and merch for sale. You can get a t-shirt or dumpling apron. There’s an outdoor patio. Parking is difficult.
