Isuzu GBX concept, 2001. Designed in California, the GBX was a proposal to produce a “back to basics” SUV  designed to function like an oversized Gear Box. A means of transporting your tools and equipment wherever you need to go. It used elements based on stage-coach design with a partially exposed frame that formed a super-strong roof-rack. The front seats are cantilevered from the centre console to permit underseat storage clear of obstructions

I finally finished this piece last night for the upcoming holiday crafting season as I really needed some tool boxes to carry my equipments in. The Felt house here is made specifically for sewing and felting tools like Miss Stabitha Turtle. I'm also hoping if I'm able to find this, perhaps have it also carry some jointing needles if the house is big enough (Those are the nightmare needles thanks to how long they are.) This is what the Sewing house looks like on the inside <3 There are four heart patches for needle/long pins holding on the four sides of the house. On the roof insides are pockets to hold bigger items like buttons or embellishments with the nice Silhouettes of the Foxlings sewn on there X3 Once I have the comic up tonight, my weekend will be focused on making the Meat Wool Alchemy Lab toolbox for the non sewing equipments like clay or dyes.

Conflict, Resolution and Boundaries
My therapist is teaching how to navigate conflict to avoid situations where I will end up disregulated. It is helpful to write down her teaching to create my toolbox.
She explains that when we walk into a conversation with emotion, we will not be receptive and won't be able to see the situation objectively.
When we block experiences, such as the ability to be receptive of another person's feedback whether we want to hear it or not, we limit life experiences, block blessing and knowledge/wisdom.
Furthermore, it is important for me to know myself as a person, have a good self-esteem, and good relationship with myself so I do not take personally what happens to me, because I only have one life and caring about myself is more important than the opinion or actions of other's.
My particular conflict is with my group of friends in which over my breakup they did not know how to show up for me, swept it under the rug, and kept communicating with my ex. It is a two way street where my emotional state, how I want folks to communicate to me, and how I associate how folks deliver information to me with my value as a person or my childhood trauma affects how my friends could have approached. On the other hand, their inability to understand how to communicate, their reliance on the most sensitive person in the group to serve as a translator, says something about their communication style too.
Boundaries
Boundaries are a set of rules that are followed by consequences when they are overstepped, and I should stick by them.
The approach to creating boundaries is based on what they should have done, and not what they should be doing (i.e. me dictating how I want them to act). It is a matter of communicating how they made me feel.
How to establish a boundary:
Communicate how I feel
Establish boundary
Consequence
Ex. I feel disappointed over XYZ and your lack of support > I would prefer you guys do not talk or get emotionally involved in my relationship > if that continues i can't show up as a friend to you because my guard will be up

The Importance of Regular ATF Transmission Oil Exchange: Protect Your Vehicle
Tumblr media
Regular maintenance is the cornerstone of vehicle longevity and performance. Among the various aspects of vehicle upkeep, changing the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) often goes overlooked. However, it is one of the most crucial maintenance tasks you can perform to ensure the smooth operation and durability of your vehicle’s transmission system.
In this blog, we’ll delve into the importance of regular ATF transmission oil exchange and how it can protect your vehicle from costly repairs and breakdowns.
Understanding Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF)
Automatic transmission fluid is a specialized lubricant designed to work in automatic transmission systems. Unlike engine oil, which primarily lubricates, ATF serves multiple functions:
1. Lubrication: ATF reduces friction between the moving parts within the transmission, preventing wear and tear.
2. Cooling: It helps dissipate heat generated by the transmission’s operation.
3. Cleaning: ATF carries away contaminants and debris, keeping the transmission clean.
4. Hydraulic Function: It provides the necessary pressure to engage and disengage the transmission’s gears.
5. Protection: ATF contains additives that protect against corrosion and oxidation.
Given these vital roles, maintaining the quality and level of ATF is essential for the health of your vehicle’s transmission.
Why Regular ATF Transmission Oil Exchange is Essential
1. Prevents Transmission Overheating
Transmission overheating is a common cause of transmission failure. Over time, ATF can degrade and lose its ability to effectively dissipate heat. This can lead to increased temperatures within the transmission, causing significant damage. Regularly changing the ATF ensures that your transmission fluid can continue to perform its cooling function effectively.
2. Reduces Wear and Tear
As ATF ages, it can become contaminated with metal shavings and other debris from the transmission components. These contaminants can act like abrasive particles, accelerating wear and tear on the transmission’s internal parts. By replacing old ATF with fresh fluid, you remove these harmful particles and reduce the risk of damage.
3. Maintains Smooth Gear Shifts
One of the most noticeable symptoms of deteriorating ATF is rough or delayed gear shifts. The fluid’s hydraulic properties can diminish over time, affecting the transmission’s ability to engage gears smoothly. Regular ATF exchange ensures that your transmission continues to shift gears seamlessly, providing a smoother and more comfortable driving experience.
4. Prevents Sludge and Deposit Build-Up
Old and degraded ATF can lead to the formation of sludge and deposits within the transmission. These deposits can clog the transmission’s channels and valves, impairing its performance and potentially causing serious damage. Fresh ATF contains detergents that help prevent the build-up of sludge and deposits, keeping your transmission clean and efficient.
5. Extends Transmission Lifespan
A well-maintained transmission can significantly outlast one that is neglected. Regular ATF exchanges remove contaminants, maintain proper lubrication, and ensure optimal hydraulic function, all of which contribute to the longevity of your transmission. By investing in regular maintenance, you can avoid the substantial costs and inconvenience associated with transmission repairs or replacements.
When to Change Your ATF
The recommended interval for changing ATF varies by vehicle make and model, as well as driving conditions. However, a general guideline is to replace the ATF every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. It’s essential to consult your vehicle’s owner’s manual for the manufacturer’s specific recommendations. Additionally, if you frequently drive in severe conditions—such as towing, heavy traffic, or extreme temperatures—you may need to change the ATF more often.
Signs That Your ATF Needs to be Changed
In addition to following the recommended maintenance schedule, it’s important to be aware of signs that your ATF may need to be changed:
- Discolored Fluid: Fresh ATF is typically red or pink. If the fluid appears dark brown or black, it’s time for a change.
- Burnt Smell: A burnt odor from the transmission fluid indicates overheating and degradation.
- Slipping Gears: If your vehicle’s transmission is slipping out of gear or experiencing delayed engagement, the ATF may be compromised.
- Unusual Noises: Grinding or whining noises from the transmission can be a sign of inadequate lubrication.
The ATF Exchange Process
Changing the ATF is a relatively straightforward process, but it’s crucial to do it correctly. Here’s a brief overview of the steps involved:
1. Drain the Old Fluid: The old ATF is drained from the transmission pan. In some cases, this may also involve removing the transmission pan to clean or replace the filter.
2. Replace the Filter: If your vehicle’s transmission has a replaceable filter, it should be changed during the ATF exchange.
3. Clean the Pan and Magnets: Any debris or sludge in the transmission pan and magnets should be cleaned out.
4. Refill with Fresh ATF: The transmission is refilled with the appropriate type and amount of fresh ATF.
5. Check for Leaks: After refilling, the transmission should be checked for leaks and the fluid level adjusted if necessary.
While many vehicle owners can perform an ATF exchange themselves, it’s often advisable to have it done by a professional mechanic to ensure it’s done correctly and thoroughly.
Conclusion
Regular ATF transmission oil exchange is a critical aspect of vehicle maintenance that can protect your transmission from damage, improve performance, and extend its lifespan. By understanding the importance of ATF and staying on top of your maintenance schedule, you can ensure that your vehicle remains reliable and efficient for years to come. Don’t overlook this essential task—protect your vehicle by making regular ATF exchanges a priority.
