Ngl I did feel concerned watching Teya in the last vid -- I don't mean this in the backhanded "I'm concerned about your health (as a way to shame you)". I do wonder if her cats being so curious affect her ability to eat? Also she seemed very enthralled by what she was doing.

I regularly experience manic episodes (in the middle of one right now baby, it's the only time I post!!!) and I find I'm so consumed by the "loudness" of my thoughts and impulsive "goal-oriented activity" that I forget to eat (dropped 15lbs /~7kg in the last 3 weeks).

I hope seasonally-appropriate hearty soups and chilis find their way to Father Strange :)

I can’t believe they would put out different versions of an OffGun show, and on WeTV of all platforms. I’m so salty about it. I am watching the WeTV version.

I’m so glad I finished Theory of Love before this. I can comment on how Gun looks more toned.

Okay, hold on, this fried pork toast sounds like a solid concept, especially with this soup on the side.

I wanna talk to some Thai graduates about their schooling system. Prem went to school to become a chef and basically didn’t get to do that for two years?

This was a solid start. Off remains gifted at comedy, and it's fun to see him and Gun together again in a romcom. I'm already in love with Aungpao, happy about seeing Neo and Dome, and generally enjoying the cast of characters. I still hate this situation with WeTV, but I'm here.

You guys this soup is sooooooooooo good holy shit. I have not been cooking from recipes very often lately, preferring to improvise from the cheapest stuff available, but I got 4lbs of ground turkey for $0 so I did this with it. And my god it’s like coconut and lime had a son with ginger and spice as his other ancestors and you’re making out with it. Fatigued guy in a rural area’s tom kha gai. I think this would be even easier if you oven baked the meatballs or even skipped that step altogether and added whole protein like tofu, poached egg, shredded chicken etc. i know no one will make this based off a tumblr post but I also want this in my files (i.e. my soup tag) so I remember it exists. It’s sooooooo good. Also I upped the lime, fish sauce, jalapeño, ginger, and garlic as always. Oh and I didn’t have spinach so I used garden collards which were amazing but I’m sure spinach or literally any other robust kinda leaf would work

I’d say I’m too weird about this relationship between teens from a middle grade series I read as a kid but like. Canon is ALSO very weird about them so it is my right to have never gotten over them.

Yuzuru Tanigami and Shuumei Satogiri from Crossplay Love: Otaku x Punk - they finally made me admit that I am more of a friends-to-lovers than enemies-to-lovers person, it’s just that I like when the friendship involves a lot of Being Weird About Each Other, and also lying.

Jenkins + Cassandra Cillian + Ezekiel Jones + Jacob Stone from The Librarians - I love all their individual dynamics and they build together so well as the four of them. The series structure is also so fun to play with and leads to so many fun ways for the “when” of it all.

Currently reading: Just started The Hemingses of Monticello by Annette Gordon-Reed as my audiobook, I’ll be starting The Disabled Tyrant’s Beloved Pet Fish by Xue Shan Fei Hu soon, and I follow a few dozen manga series (yesterday I passed 300 books read this year, sorta hoping I hit 600 now!)

Currently eating: some left over tom kha gai over rice with a hardboiled egg, kind of just throwing an extra egg into everything right now to keep me full because I’m not that motivated to eat because summer is gross.

Currently craving: I really wish I had gotten a dessert at the grocery store earlier because there isn’t any ice cream in the house rn which is so sad ;_;

Okay July 1st started literally seventeen minutes ago but I need to get this off my chest.

Everyones favourite kind of Take-Out:

Bond - Will generally order just about anything Q wants. Bust is secretly a basic bitch (aka Burger lover)

Q - Thai, you'd have to pry his Tom Kha Gai out of his cold dead hands

Moneypenny - Absolutely obsessed with sushi, she has tested every restaurant in the general London area and has a list rating her favourite dishes at all of them

Mallory - Italian, mostly pasta with some kind of creamy sauce (mushroom and spinach are his favourite)

Tanner - Look, he is an amazing cook and loves to try out exotic and new things... but sometimes your tummy really just wants pizza

Mansfield - Greek although only when she can be entirely sure the only one who will smell the enormous amounts of garlic on her breath is her husband.

• Prem need a money, this was his last resort. It's sad. Prem has no money, and for Ten 50k it is easy to transfer such money. There is a huge economic difference between them.

Prem could even If it weren't for the problems, Prem could still ask to be paid for cooking lessons. It's normal. It's like tutoring in a cooking class. The truth is that many of us, if we had a chance to meet someone rich, do something like Prem. For rich ppl its nothing, for It's all poor sometimes. And sometimes it can even save them.

• Off as Ten and his sweet-cute face 🤍🩺 i love this so much. He is so cute, cute, cute and cute. And CUUUTEEE!!!

• Gun as Prem also is cute and sweet.

nah I'm still so pissed off about gmmtv not putting out the uncut version bruh. like ep 2 felt way less like things were missing from it but then I watched the uncut & literally most of of firedynamite's relationship is cut which I'm okay with bc I don't care that much for them... what kills me the most about ten not liking physical contact like pre-2020 off did is that he touched prem multiple times in ep 1?? he literally put his whole ass chin on his shoulder when he smelled his tom kha kai, he grabbed his arm to write his number on it, and he even put his WHOLE ASS HEAD on his HEART when prem had fainted bruh!!! guess then ten just doesn't like when others touch him but he's fine doing the touching 😏😏😏

Tips for Enjoying Street Food in Thailand

While looking for street foods, always look for the busy stalls with more local customers. The locals show where the good food is.

If you don't speak Thai, just point and smile. The vendors appreciate your interest and will help you order.

Please carry small bills and change as most vendors do not accept cards.

If you are having Thai cuisine for the first time, start mild and slowly work your way up with spicy dishes. The Thai spice level can be intense for newcomers.

While visiting the vendors, remember that morning vendors often serve different dishes than evening vendors and you must explore them both.

hi, tom kha gai anon here! i had the soup and it tasted so good! the flavor is really layered. in the version i tried, the strongest flavors (besides coconut milk) were fish sauce, lime, and lemongrass. it also had mushrooms, which were great

Random thoughts about Cooking Crush ep 1.

"Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all" -- Harriet Van Horne.

Few dishes shown in the episode : Thai pork toast (Khanom Pang Na Moo), Thai Meatballs, Green Curry, Spicy veggie Soup with shrimps, Red curry Nang Loi, Tom Kha Gai.

The series is already in their 7th episode so I'm late but I'll give my two cents about it anyway.

▪️Prem looks like a smol bean but he isn't a real one. He has big dreams but it seems harder to get to them. He seems to be close to his family and has good friends. I learnt that he cooks well but has low self esteem.

▪️Ten is the real smol bean and rich boy who has a bad relationship with his father. In this episode he showed that eating is very important in life. He shouldn't have said he won't eat in the day but it leads him to Prem so I guess it was meant to be.

▪️I'm sure Ten was the kid from Prem's childhood memory and they also met at the beginning of the episode in the market so they really had to meet. I like that Ohm plays a gentle character. I never recovered from his role in Theory of Love so I'm always glad when he is playing something very different from that. Not sure about how I feel with Prem. They didn't start well.

▪️Dynamite, Prem's friend is young and very stupid. However, I like his smile and cheekiness. Too bad he has the stalker syndrome which is not really funny in a series from 2023/2024. I don't know why they made him this way. Will he stay like that in the next episode?! Also he doesn't respect boundaries from his crush which is not really a good start in any relationship. He seems like a good friend, but lose any braincells when he sees his crush.

▪️The crush name is Fire, Ten's friend. He is played by Neo so it automatically gave him many points in beauty. He is definitely not interested by Dynamite for obvious reasons. He also has a secret crush on Jane. Like his stalker he loses any common senses when he is close to his crush. I don't know how they will make him fall in love with Dynamite. Their dynamic is not very healthy at this point.

▪️There were two others noticable characters: Samsi, friends of Dynamite and Prem and Blond Guy who according to MDL is called Metha. They had a feud about Meatballs. Blond Guy was really selfish. I agreed with Samsi about him.

▪️I felt like there were a lot of mean people around the school: the 3B, the Blond Guy, the football players... Even the teacher was mean in some way. I felt he plays favorites. Especially during the cooking test or when he calls in Prem about staying late in the kitchen. Would it have killed him to be more understanding?!

▪️ I like discovering more about Thai dishes through this series. I admit I got into Korean Food because of Kdramas so I believe it's a good medium to make people learn more about Thai Food. GMMTV should sell a cooking book as merch for this series. It would be relevant. I would buy it. It's better than the usual keychains or USB key they try to sell us. They can add tons of pictures from their stars inside. It would sell well. I'm sure.

Anyway, let's see in the next episode how Ten's cooking classes will be since Prem will need money and Ten is rich enough to afford overpriced lessons. I want to know how these foodies will fall in love. I wasn't expecting a lot from this series because it's a comedy. I don't really like comedy but it was on my watch list anyway because of OffGun and mostly because I like food. I wanna try recipes from the dishes shown in this episode. 🤤
