A Great Holiday for Hockey, Volume 2 [x]

This is my dog Tito circa 2010, he was a street dog that one day came into our house looking for food and just never left, we constantly joked that he adopted himself.

He lived with us from 2004 to 2012, going out during the day everywhere in the neighborhood, and coming back home to eat or to pass the night, then one rainy night he refused to go inside and just disappeared, we looked for him for months to no avail.

He was already old by the time he first came home, so we always suspected he realized his end was near and decided to find a place to die, rather than let us see him pass.

I always thought I didn’t have any pictures of him, he was a very rough yet loving dog, fiercely loyal to us, and while he absolutely hated baths, he would never try to bite once we finally found the strength to bath him, so he has stayed in my heart for all these years.

And just last night, by pure chance, I finally found a photo of him, in all his short, brown glory! And he looks exactly as I remembered him, my little Tito.

I’ll post it here alongside other places, so his visage is not left forgotten once again, it’s the least I can do for a dog as remarkable as he was, and I’ll make damn sure my kids know about him too, I don’t care if I only had him for 8 years, he will live in my memory for as long as I live!
