*bangs pots and pans* the reason!! the "brotherly jayvik" reading falls apart!! is that brotherly jayvik hinges on parallels to jinxvi!! and those are there!!—"you're never gonna give up on me, are you?" and "after all i've done, why do you persist?" (un.well.)—and there was setup for it!! it could've gone there!!

(we see bits of it in s1 and we see the outline of something that would've shattered my soul—hey. hey. jayce doing what was supposed to be the fuckin. worst thing he has ever done in his life?? killing that boy?? bc he was encouraged by vi to do it?? hello???? while on the other side viktor expresses admiration for jinx's engineering on at least one occasion and like. like!!! imagine!!! viktor who is falling apart changed beyond recognition and jinx who is falling apart changed beyond recognition finding each other and idk!!! i'd like to imagine propping each other up into something less painful!! bc if jayce & vi are hurtling towards destruction it only makes sense to have jinx & viktor soar towards building!! but we'll never know!! bc the parallels fall apart in s2!)
