“What you need baby? You want my lips? Wan’ me to teach you how a woman should be loved?” Henry cooed tracing his thumb under her bottom pouting lip, his hands were holding in place the same toy she had made for him, her voices coming out strained as she ground her hips against the soft plush; Henry’s other hand cupping her face affectionately as he denied her of his kisses
Tumblr media
Y/n bit her lip in anticipation as she watched a rough group of men entered the Saturday market, the stuffed crochet toys she had made all laid out on the table; her eyes widening as she watched all the other stall owners leave in such a hurry. Eventually leaving her as the only stall in the whole street. Her smile never faltered as the head of the group approached her, his facial hair grown out, his hair black and short. His blue eyes staring into hers as his heavy books clinked while he walked over, his skin slightly tanned and glowy with sweat.
“Hey sir welcome! I’m (insert business name) and I make crochet cuties based on your aura” Reciting her business selling phrase, she played with the ears of one of the woollen rabbits on the table as he simply just looked at her. His other companions dawdling by their bikes near the entrance, cheeky grins on all their faces as they watched their supposed leader interact with such a pure innocent soul.
“Really? What one would I be then dollface?” He inquired looking over the array of absolutely adorable stuffies on her wooden table. Y/n’s stomach grew warm and flutter just at the simple nickname, her face felt warm and dare she admit she felt a certain wetness start to pool at the core. “U-uhm I think maybe” Y/n cut herself off trying to distract herself, looking up at the big burly man in front of her, before returning her gaze back to her works. “This one is you dadd- sir, big n’ cuddly, a bear”
“How’d you know i’m cuddly?” His southern accent thickened, leaning forward onto the table, his head cocked to the side. “Well I uh”
“I’m just playing sweetcheeks, how much for the bear then?” Chuckling he brought out his leather wallet, “Since you’re here visiting, you can just have it! I think he needs a nice adventurous lovin family” Wrapping the brown bear in nice tissue paper she handed the plush over, her eyes widening at the mere size of his hands, thinking about how he could man handle her into any position he wanted.
“Ya from around here then?” Quirking his brow up, “Hen stop it, you’re scarin my customers away” Y/n whined when Henry walked around to the back of the stall where she was, his hands reaching around her waist, leaving her breathless as little one of his hands pushed her into him. Her arms trying to swat away the grabby arms of her playful man, he loved rocking up to her work acting as if he was trying to pick her up. Leaving his woman bashful and bothered, with her wanting nothing more than to just come home with him already. Their own little game of roleplay.
“Awk m’sorry pumpkin, ya know I can’t be away from my doll for too long, m’goin through withdrawals” Henry growled into her ear, lowkey grinding his hardened cock onto her dress covered thigh. Her voice coming out in gasps, quietly thanking the tarp that was covering them from the rest of his rowdy group of bikers. “I’ve- I’ve only got a few more hours here at the market” She whispered feeling him nip her ear, his hands gripping her waist tightly. “A few hours too long pup, I need you now, you gonna deprive me of my pussy?”
“No but- but you know the rules! You get me at home daddy, not here, not in front of them” She nodded towards all the small plushies facing them, her hands on each of his pecs, “Fine. Whatever” He grumbled chasing her lips with his, his scruff scratching her cheeks in all the best ways, giving her the tingly burning sensation. “I live for your lips, want them all over my body” He gasped breaking their kiss, his tongue swiping over her bottom lip, Y/n’s lip gloss already covering his lips in pink speckles of glitter.
It was an understatement to say that Henry was in love with Y/n, he was absolutely obsessed. The way she talked, walked, breathed and just everything about her made him swoon and hard. Henry first met her on one of his bike stops on the other side of the country, she had been working as an ice cream girl when he stumbled upon her sweet self. He devoured her being, teaching her about herself, helping her to explore her own body. How to pleasure herself.
“Don’t leave me please, i’m tired of bein’ people’s summer romance” Y/n whimpered after one of their lovefuck sessions, his hand grazing up her arm affectionately as they lay on her bed, the sound of crickets ringing through her small bungalow home. Small trinkets decorating her room of all her own little travels around the country. She hadn’t given herself like this to anyone before, but she had her fair share of romances from the different men that had travelled through the town. Only for her heart to be broken each time when they would leave to go back home, to never return.
“This isn’t a summer thing, this is a for life thing doll, if you’ll have me” He whispered looking down at her, leaning forward for a soft kiss onto her lips, her eyes gleaming up at the man she had now fallen in love with over this new summer. “I’ll have you, forever” She giggled wrapping her arms around his torso, nuzzling her head to his hairy chest, his warmth enveloping her with so much love and affection. “Come with me baby, travel with me” He suddenly said out of the blue, leaning up on his body to look down on her, brushing back some of her hair behind her ear.
“W-wait what? Just out of nowhere? What about all my things? Where would we even go-“
“shh babydoll, just tell me yes or no n’ i’ll handle everything else. I just wanna hear your answer” Henry’s hand traced along her jaw, a smirk growing as she nodded into his hand, “Yes, I-I wanna go with you Henry, take me with you”
That sentence was all Henry needed before he packed up his babygirl’s belongings over the last few weeks of summer, hauling them into a truck and got it delivered to his stationed home somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Where Y/n now found herself truly chasing her dreams, living her days out in the sun with her own hunk, using her passion of crochet for a small side business.
Soon enough they fell into a dynamic where Henry found himself wanting to do nothing more than to care and provide for his baby, with them finding comfort in the newfound love they had for each other.
(Back to present time)
“Can I have a few of these ones delivered then? I want them to delivered home” He said pointing at the whole bunch of stuffies on the table, “All of them? You want all of them?” Y/n tilted her head with furrowed brows, “Yes pup, I want all of ‘em, put each of them in the nurseries m’building”
“Shut up, we still got a ways to go with babies” Y/n whined pushing him away playfully, feeling his fingers cup her face to make her look at him, “m’ bein’ serious, I wanna buy them all and I want them delivered home”
“Y-you just want me to come home” She smiled swaying side to side, she knew how much he loved her, in fact it was as if he couldn’t breathe without her right beside him. “Is that so wrong doll? Wanna feel your tight little pussy clench around my cock, been thinkin’ about you all day, even had this just to sniff at every so often” Looking down he showed her, her purple lacy underwear from the night before which undoubtedly had her juices on it. “You’ve had my thong in your pocket? All day? Really Henry?” She whispered shocked, shoving the fabric back in quickly just in case anyone walked in.
“What you embarrassed pup? You smell fuckin’ divine, the way you took control n’ fucked yourself all on me” Pulling back he looked up and down, taking her in, the way she looked so fresh and ready for the day. “You’re so annoying sometimes, now go away”
“You want me to go away? Your future husband n’ father of your kids? C’mon pup don’t play like that” Henry joined her in putting all the cute animals into a huge ikea bag, hauling it onto the back of his bike. Helping her secure herself onto the second seat, her turned around to give Y/n her own customised helmet. A pink fluffy one with bunny ears, made just for her. “Y-you have to make me your wife first Hen” She smiled widely as he secured the fastening of the helmet, his heart pounding at just how adorable she looked in her own biker jacket and pink helmet.
“You wanna be my baby wife? Want me to take care of you pup so you don’t have to think about anythin’ but lookin’ pretty n’ makin cute little toys for our babies?”
“Mhm yeah, wan’ it so bad” She giggled leaning forward and kissing the cleft of his chin through the stubble, the prickly feeling reminding her of when he gave that same sensation between her legs just last night. “Yeah you do pup, I want it bad too”
“Then jus ask me already!” She whined stomping her foot that was on the ground only to pout when Henry lightly tapped her on the thigh, “Ey you know I don’t do well with attitude pup, that’s not the same happy girl I know”
“M-m’sorry” She whispered leaning up for another sloppy short kiss, her hands gripping onto the bottom of his shirt, watching as he then settled in front of her with her hands wrapped tightly around his waist.
“Right pup you’ve got five seconds” Henry whispered as soon as they got through the front door of their home, Y/n’s arms filled to the brim with the animals she made, only the top of her forehead peeking out as she insisted to carry in her woollen babies. “F-five?” She squealed out quickly throwing the stuffies onto the couch as she ran upstairs in a hurry, her heartbeat quickening once she heard his thundering footsteps chasing after her.
Her breath getting caught in her throat when she felt his arms latch around her waist and ironically lay her down gently onto the soft cotton sheets of their shared bed. “You look so pretty pup” He gushed showing his canine smile, pulling her down towards him as her dress went up to her waist. “Really pretty?”
“Soso pretty baby, prettiest of them all” He leant down unbuttoning the front of her beautiful dress, her bare breasts popping out all sun kissed from the recent heatwave that had hit their small town. Courtesy of the fact that she had spent the weekend tanning nude (as per Henry’s request) by the pool in their backyard.
“What you need baby? You want my lips? Wan’ me to teach you how a woman should be loved?” Henry cooed tracing his thumb under her bottom pouting lip, his hands were holding in place the same toy she had made for him, her voices coming out strained as she ground her hips against the soft plush; Henry’s other hand cupping her face affectionately as he denied her of his kisses. Using the same bear from earlier which he had hidden for himself, he held it under her pussy just letting her play herself with it
“W-what are you doin’ pup?” Henry looked taken aback as Y/n threw off the rest of her dress before turning onto her stomach, her ass in the air as she looked back at him playfully, wiggling her hips just to add on some tension.
“I-I think I wanna try somethin’ new Henry, I want you here” She said shyly once again shuffling her ass back onto Henry’s denim covered shaft, feeling it start to strain against the zipper he just had to strip himself down, still in disbelief.
“Baby, you finally gonna let me take your ass? Is that what’s goin on here? You’re givin’ yourself to me whole”
“Yes, i’m all yours, b-but be careful i’m nervous” She rushed out leaning on her elbows, “Aw pup don’t worry, daddy’ll take care of ya well” Henry whispered feeling that primal animalistic side of him come out, opening one of their bedroom drawers to reveal a bottle of lube they had, “This might feel cold but i’ll warm it up okay baby?” He whispered pouring a generous amount of lube onto her ass cheeks, using his hands to massage it onto her puckered backdoor. “Feels weird”
“Does feel weird doesn’t it honey, but you’re doin’ so well for me pup, let me just feel it out with a finger or two” He softly shushed her whines and moans as he pushed in his index finger into her tight ass, her thighs tingling already wanting more. “F-feels so good daddy” She whispered feeling herself fall into a more vulnerable headspace, wanting nothing more than for her Henry to coddle and fuck her to sleep.
“Fuck pup your ass is so tight, can’t believe you’re givin’ me this sweet treat tonight, so desperate to be my wife huh?”
“n-no that’s not why!” She argued back only to be interrupted by her own moan when Henry slid his finger back out only to insert back in two, ultimately stretching her poor muscles even more, “gah look at it clench over nothin’, my pup is a slut for her daddy” He cooed pulling his two fingers out, watching as her ass basically winked back at him with every pulse of her muscle.
“what are ya baby” He whispered out more to himself, looking over her face which was looking over her shoulder, her expression flustered as her skin glimmered in the soft light of their bedside lamp. “M’your baby” She whispered out, her hand reaching behind her to graze up his slightly pouched belly and wide chest. “Yeah? What does my pretty baby wife want”
“I-I want your cock in my ass, please daddy”
“m’so proud of you pup, always rememberin’ your manners, gotta reward you haven’t I” He state slapping his cock onto her behind while she nodded eagerly, her hands fisting the sheets out of anticipation. Henry took a deep breath in whilst he pushed the reddened head of his cock inside her warm wet hole, the lube helping a fuck ton. “A-ah daddy, so big” Y/n gasped out arching her back more, Henry leaned over to affectionately rub her back to help soothe the stretching pain, kisses being placed on the dimples of her back. He himself struggling to find words as his cock was being squeezed tightly in the best way possible.
“you okay baby? you want to keep goin’?”
“Y-yes, wanna feel full” She gasped once she felt him push himself in inch by inch, stopping every few seconds to let her catch her breath, Henry on the other hand was really holding himself back, her ass just felt too damn good on his cock. Both of them finally let out sighs of relief when Henry had bottomed out inside her ass, although none of them dared to move knowing it would cause the start of a very hard fucking. “Fuck me daddy, please, I want it”
“Ya remember your safe word baby?” Nodding her head eagerly Y/n herself started moving her ass up and down his cock, squealing at the burning yet amazing feeling it gave her, ultimately making her weak in the knees. “Oh fuck yeah, my fuckin’ whore” He growled out, his head falling back as his hands gripped onto her soft hips while they together rocked back and forth slowly. Everything was going more or less smoothly until the friction between Henry’s cock and her ass made an embarrassing sound, causing her to completely clench around his cock.
“s-so embarrassing” She whined plopping her head down onto the sheets in front of her, “a-ah baby don’t squeeze daddy so hard or else he’s gonna finish real fuckin’ fast and you don’t want that do ya?” Shaking her head she listened to the rest of what he had to say, “Baby that was not embarrassing, fuck do ya think we can make that sound again?” Smirking darkly he pulled his cock all the way back out before pushing it all in slowly, hearing that same airy sound from their fucking.
“Can daddy play with your clit sweetheart? Is that okay?” Henry whispered kissing again the dimples of her back watching as she nodded, his one arm reaching under her to play with her slick wet folds. Running his fingers through her folds thrice to lube it up with her own slickness, he started toying with her little swollen nub, her body immediately jerking forward at the sensitive touches. “gonna cum daddy, real soon” She gasped writhing in his hold, his hips smacking against her ass as he slowly picked up the pace, all the while circling her clit over and over again until she saw stars.
“Let go for me sweetness, let daddy see his pretty baby let go, wan’ me to cum in your ass sweetheart?”
“Yes daddy want you to warm up my ass, flood it with your cum pretty please” She whined half screaming into the sheets as Henry continued to rub her clit whilst she orgasmed, it was slowly causing her to feel overstimulated, his own cock following soon after as he felt her ass pulse around him; completely milking him of all he had to offer. “You take me so good pup, my best girl, you did so well ya hear me”
In a strained voice he continued to spill out heartfelt praises to his baby who was still lying limp and tired on the sheets, slowly pulling his cock out he winced, “p-plug daddy” He heard her whisper making him smirk, his baby loved being full of him, who knew that the best souvenir he’d bring back from his travels was her. Reaching over to their bedside drawers he found her purple sparkly plug, inserting it carefully with shushed tones, taking extra precautions to make sure it went in comfortably.
“I wanna be here, daddy here” Y/n smiled turning her head, crawling up to claim her spot on his chest, his arm coming around her to pull her even closer to him. “You want me to put on somethin’ in the background?” Teasingly he put his thumb onto her plug, tapping at it, causing Y/n to move away and whine, “stop it!”
“m’sorry baby couldn’t help it, you n’ your ass are too cute” Softly scratching her back, he watched her eyes focus on the random Disney movie he chose on the TV, her lips smacking until she reached up for Henry’s hand to put his thumb in her mouth; another soothing act of aftercare reserved just for her, “night night daddy, l-love you”
“night baby, love you so much”Her face squished against his chest until she eventually started drooling, once she fell asleep “You are just too precious for your own good pup, thankfully you’re mine”

🎀 Anti-Consumption in Journaling 🎀
-by a stationery lover/blogger, pt. 2
💛 Thank you @maldemer for inspiring this post! 💛
Tumblr media
Love elaborate maximalist journal spreads but want to improve your consumption habits? I’m here to help!
Are you going for a journal with a lot of stickers and washi tape with minimal writing? Is your main goal creating collages with your stationary? Just want a pretty way to showcase your stickers?
Opt for a smaller journal! Reduce the visual space your working with to reach that maximalist/clutterbug 🐞 look with less materials.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I recommend refillable binder journals, it’s one reusable cover and you can save your old pages by tying them together with ribbon or save them as loose pages.
I recommend sizes A6, A7, M5/A8👇
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Need to Fill a lot of space? Let’s Talk Materials
Keep your packaging! I have a box of cute images and patterns I’ve cut from miscellaneous packaging to glue in my journal. If you’ve bought stationery recently, chances are the packagings are also pretty enough to save!
Free souvenirs! Going somewhere fun? Save a receipt (a favorite of mine to remember snacks I ate, or the date/time), a ticket, a map, a brochure, things you can collect from your outing that come at no cost to you.
Collect from nature! Have a separate book thick enough to press pretty flowers from your yard, your daily walk, the park, your hike, etc. just be careful not to touch something poisonous. You should have an on going collection of pressed flowers you can choose from to fill the space.
Junk mail! Make collages from newspapers, envelopes, flyers. Cut the individual letters to use or full words to string together a poem. Or cut fun shapes to make art.
Doodles! Not an artist? That’s okay! Make your doodles with cheap color pencils, ball point pens, crayons for texture! Messy is cute and endearing!
Thrifting! So many books for cheap from cooking, nature, poetry, novels, children’s books. Get your scissors and start snipping! Look for trinkets like buttons, ribbons, fabric scraps, small beads that you can glue
Creating visual weight! Chances are you have different page styles lying around, mix patterns, textures, colors. Is your journal dotted? Glue sections of graph, blank, or line paper to create visual interest. Received a gift lately? Tissue paper looks cute!
When buying stationery, buy from small artists when you can! Many artists have online shops and/or physical markets. It may be pricier than buying from companies, but you can guarantee the art/design is not stolen, and that the artist is being paid fairly for their work.
I went ahead and created a journal spread using some of the advice above. This is pocket journal with everything being pulled from scrap paper, junk mail, and some markers. Ignoring that I completely forgot what cucumbers looked like for a hot minute:
Here’s my journal spread!

sewing other things
OK so. I have talked about the Loftus Bralette so much on here that one could be forgiven for chuckling gently when i said I should sew other things. But I do actually have several other projects I've been wanting to work on. And i have actually cut some of them out.
Also when I was last at the farm my niece brought me some of her t-shirts and said "I really like this one can we cut it apart and re-sew it bigger so I can still wear it", and I remembered that her BFF's mom, who works at the farm twice a week doing the books and managing store inventory, owns a serger she didn't know how to thread, so I texted her to ask if I could borrow it and indeed she had accidentally unthreaded it and there was a stuck lever and needed me to fix it anyway, and maybe I mentioned that on here but I did actually make my niece a couple of tunics while I was last at the farm. Including hand-sewing a whole bunch of details on the last one while the family was driving on a road trip one weekend.
So I brought all that stuff home with me and was hoping to get to work on it this week. All I've sewn has been the bralettes but I still have today. We'll see what I can get done.
I measured Farmkid and she's ten years old so her shape isn't the same as that of an adult woman, but she's five feet two and like 130 lbs, and some of her measurements put her in a women's size 12. So. She expressed interest in a garment I wear frequently, a Studio Tunic from Sew Liberated. I printed off the pattern in a size 12 and have assembled it, but I'm stuck deciding what fabric to use for her. I should decide that today. She's ten, her favorite color is ostensibly yellow but she mostly wears pinks and purples, she's a grubby kid who wipes her hands on her shirt and always winds up with stains on the belly of her shirt still, and she wants this tunic I think largely so she can cram her tablet into the pocket and go climb trees while listening to audiobooks on speaker. So I want a bright color but not too pale, and I want a tough fabric but not unbreathable, and I'm just. Deciding, still.
Probably what I should do is use some undyed fabric I own, and then bring my supplies and let her tie-dye it. I have a couple other things I could tie-dye, or will by then. That would be a fun bonding activity. I don't know if I'll have time to do it this trip though. So maybe I'll postpone the project and ask her for help once she's on summer break. (Good luck catching her, kids these days have so many summer camps.) As a bonus I bet I could loop her BFF and BFF's Mom in on the tie-dyeing, they're both into that shit.
Hell we could do ice-dyeing, the farm has a 1000-lb ice machine that is very frequently turned on (weekly for the market, biweekly for chicken processing-- there could be ice available at pretty much any time lol).
So anyway. I know she wants me to make a tunic out of a trio of large-print cat shirts she's outgrown, and she wants to wear it for her 5th grade moving up day ceremony, and I looked at it while I was home but I haven't done it yet. I need to get my shit together.
What I might do is print off a size 12 version of the t-shirt pattern I own, it's just that it's designed for busty women because I'm a busty woman, and she's Not, yet (oh, she will be. soon. but not yet.) so I have to kind of. Well, I own a pattern for a swing tunic that's close to what she wants actually. Oh, I should just print that one off. (The joy of the Cashmerette Club subscription patterns is that you get all the sizes, 0-30, and I've now made a couple of them for smaller friends, because like. I mean I own the pattern! PDF patterns are so great because you can reprint them in the smaller size instead of trying to trace it off. I never ever got the hang of tissue paper patterns.)
Yeah here this one, the Wexford Top/Dress, would be easy enough to kind of carve out the bust curve a little and make it fit a kid, because it's not meant to be that fitted. I'll just sort of use that as a general guideline and then make the cut-out-and-patchworked t-shirts fit into that approximate silhouette. The way I made the other tunics for her, I just used a shirt whose neck and shoulders still mostly fit her. But these cat shirts she's thoroughly outgrown, so making a new neck/shoulder area would be best.
Orrrrrr.... I could use one of the zillion old t-shirts of mine that I've saved to cut up. The neck/shoulders of a fully adult-sized garment are no longer too big for her. That's easier.
I also have a bunch of garments I want to make for myself, as I don't seem to buy clothes much anymore (I can't bring myself to pay $40 for a dress off the clearance rack that won't fit me and will mostly be polyester and won't be that interesting and will pill the first time I wash it). The Club's latest pattern is a skort/shorts/skirt dealie, and I need more shorts all the time-- I've largely given up on underpants and just wear boxer-briefs or anti-chafe shorts and I just don't see the point now of wearing a pair of panties and then shorts over the top under my skirt. Like. Just wear the shorts! So being able to choose the materials and print and look of that would be pretty great. And the Cashmerette one is inseam-less, like my favorite anti-chafe shorts are.
So I have cut out a pair of just the shorts in a clearance cotton mesh from Dharmatrading, and I even have the correct elastic for the waistband, so that kind of rules. I will sew those up as soon as I get a chance. I would like to make several skorts as well, probably from synthetic ponte or something, but my ideal would be to get some decent merino/nylon jersey and do a few from that. You never see merino skorts but I would wear the shit out of those.
I also have a lovely underpants pattern from the Club from ages ago, and while I rarely wear underpants of that style anymore, I would like having some cute matchy ones to go with the bralettes. Also, I have a shitton of foldover elastic, and I suspect I could use foldover elastic in some of the bralettes I want to make, so I want to get proficient in its use, and there are directions for applying it in the underpants directions, and it seems like a good way to practice. So I cut a muslin of those from the same cotton mesh as the shorts, and just have to sew the pieces together.
I also want to make myself more pretty dresses, and I have parts of a new Studio Tunic for myself already cut out, but not the rest.
And I recently made myself the button-up shirt from the Club, I know I posted about it on here. And I wanted to immediately make myself several more, and I got out some fabric and prepared it and cut out one pattern piece and then ran out of time. So yesterday I finally cut out the rest of the shirt from this fabric, a print from Mood covered in tiny dinosaurs. So I have that all ready to go in a plastic baggie too, just waiting for me to have time to sit and sew it. (Once I do that, I would really like to make myself a dress version of it from the cool green not-quite-seersucker I got from that remnant bolt at Promenade Fabrics in New Orleans.)
AND. i also have resolved to make my BFF, the one in Rochester who I lived with for a bit in the pandemic, with the little kids-- MM-- I am going to make her a sloper, before I see her next weekend, or maybe while I see her next weekend if i don't get to it in time argh, and I am going to at least try that on her and figure out approximately what shape she is so that I can put together a master pattern for her to make herself dresses from. I took her measurements ages ago, and she's a 14CD bust, a 16 waist, and an 8 hip in Cashmerette's sizing, and so I think just making a sloper with those sizes all graded together will be a huge start. And then we can mildly tweak the fit for her frame, and-- the thing is, she's always buying custom dresses on Etsy because what she wants is very specific and not usually available in stores, and then the dresses come and don't fit her so she has to get them tailored, and then they were just made of cheap quilting cotton from Joann's so they wear out after she washes them a few times, and she's had to add on pockets anyway because they didn't have them.
So I just feel like if I could get her a paper master pattern that fit her... heck i could even just make her dresses if *I* had the pattern. It would be easier and more efficient. I could do the basic construction and then turn over the pockets and embellishments to her, which is what she does anyway. So that's my goal there, and we'll see if I can reach it.
Anyway. If only I didn't have to work at all and could just sew all the time. I am not the first person to say this, LOL.
I have a lot of irons in the fire but at the moment am trapped under a cat so those irons are not going anywhere.

whatever you wanna do, bud ✨✨✨
okidokie!!
i hereby present u all with this silly heromari fanfic:
Our Summer!!
will probably contain spoilers for omori, so keep reading after the cut if that’s okay!!
Hero stared at the sky. The lovely blue sky, feathered with downy cumulus clouds, fading into delicate shades of orange and yellow. He paid no mind to the bickering of Kel and Aubrey in the background, choosing instead to tune them out and reminisce. He only had this one summer left before he left for college, after all.
THE PREVIOUS DAY
Hero walked up the driveway of the house he had grown so happy to see. The door had a placard with a name etched into the copper.
‘Suzuki.’
He knocked on the dark oakwood door. In no time, a young lady with flowing, glossy black hair and a long white dress opened the door. ”HERO!”
Hero smiled. “Hello, Mari! …May I ask what you wanted me to come over for?”
Mari grabbed his hand, pulling him inside.
“Well, firstly, I wanted you to hear Sunny and I! He sounds amazing! I’m really proud of him. But also, I got something for you!!”
Hero raised an eyebrow, slipping off his shoes. “Is that so? What is it?”
Mari rambled as she walked into the kitchen.
“Well, Sunny and I were at the market this morning! They had this really lovely glass art stand and I saw this and thought of you!! So…”
Mari handed him a medium-sized box, tied with a ribbon.
“Go on, open it, you goof!”
Hero laughed and untied the ribbon gently. He opened the box and pushed back the tissue paper.
“Oh, wow… Mari, did you really buy this just for me?”
“Yes!! Do you like it?”
It was a little glass bluejay. Hero picked it up and held it up to the light, taking in its beauty and delicate appearance. “…Mari, I love it. Thank you.”
Mari looked pleased.
“That makes me really happy! But I knew you’d like it.”
BACK TO PRESENT.
Hero reached into his pocket and pulled out the bluejay. The sunset reflected off it, the different shades of blue shimmering in the light.
“HEROOOO!”
Hero jumped at the sound of Kel’s voice calling for him. He looked up to see his brother running towards him from across the park. Kel stopped in front of him, panting.
“Basil’s been gone for a while now. Do you think we should go to Sunny’s house to check on those three? It’s getting late…”
Hero stared at him for a moment. Aubrey ran up behind Kel.
“I think that would be a good idea. I hope nothing bad has happened.”
Hero stood up, tucking the glass bird into his pocket again and following Kel and Aubrey as they jogged along, exiting the park. He helped them cross the street, and then again, until finally they reached Sunny’s street. The sun was gone, and the neighborhood was cast in darkness. He couldn’t hear anything. No sound of instruments from the house. He stepped in front of Kel and Aubrey, reaching for the doorknob. It was unlocked, so he opened the door and stepped in. He walked upstairs, and all around the house. There was nobody inside- well, except maybe Sunny’s room. But the door was locked. He called out.
“Mari? Sunny? Basil? Hello…?”
Then, through the window, he saw it. And he went to the back door and slid it open. The cold air hit him like a brick wall. That tree… wait. Was that…?
“NO!!”
Eheh that’s the end for you. I don’t typically write a lotta HeroMari so this was tough but I think it turned out ok!! I hope u like it :)

plz ignore me this is holiday bravier rambling
it’s not written out well or formatted properly it started as like TWO PARAGRAPHS AND JUST ENDED UP A WHOLE THING AND I’M NOT CLEANING IT UP.
*flips a table*
-
they do their yearly gift exchange. but it’s more stilted than ever before. real, real awkward in fact. in a ‘they just sort of meet half way in the living room, standing there, face to face, holding boxes and shoving them forward’ kind of way. with a buzz in the air that screamed big ‘neither of us know what the hell this is right now, but we’re supposed to be doing this, maybe’ vibes.
x gives b a decent sized box. it’s wrapped in obnoxious gold paper with multicolored poinsettias and a mish mash of three bows. a gift card holder was taped almost hidden beneath them.
the card itself is to some online body jewelry shop he’d found. he was just gonna get him a septum ring, but he had a couple already, and he wasn’t sure what else he was in the market for. shoved in behind it was a folded coupon for buy-one-get-one half gallons of ice cream. so he could, again, just... pick out whatever he wanted. (it was going to be salted caramel fudge bourbon and vanilla cookie dough/m&m non copyright mcflurry whatever they called it... or just two of the latter. b was predictable, in some ways.) not exactly exciting stuff, but it was the thought that counted... right?
in the box itself, under the mountain of crinkled black tissue paper, there’s a pile of laminated comics and a beat up graphic novel. all stuff he explains, sure, might not really be his thing, but apparently they’re all random one shots that revolve around either obscure religious plots. or, just REALLY REALLY brutally offensive takes on christianity. the most poorly written edgelordery of crusades. stuff that’s probably been banned from half the shops in a half dozen countries. because he needs a laugh, or twelve.
he used to get him old bibles, but couldn’t find one this year. it felt grossly symbolic in ways he didn’t want to think about.
b gives x two small boxes stacked together. the top is no bigger than his palm. the paper looks hand pressed and old, and stained faintly with tea, with a ribbon made of stems. the bottom is a little bigger, and just a cheap white box without even a piece of tape.
he opens the top, and he’s not sure what hits him first. it smells, very distinctly, like him. but him at the compound. when it was sundown and sweaty and the flowers were sweet and blooming and they maybe got a little too frisky by the river. and then there was the.... the uh.... well. it was his hair. it was undoubtedly a chopped off piece of white dread. half bleached. spiraled up. he almost gags.
“is this.... erm. is this your hair?”
“yeah! yeah... yeah. no, sorry, that was a weird gift. i’m sorry. i can get you something, like an actual...”
“no. no. it’s cool. it’s.............. why?”
“well... you know, sometimes.... i’m not always here, and sometimes you might want me... here. for some reason. and i don’t always pick up on stuff like i used to these days so i just thought you know, maybe, like, to channel... or somethin’...................... i got no idea. i’m sorry.”
he’s sure there’s probably something actually to that, and that makes it weirdly thoughtful, in a what the fuck kind of way. so he smiles and reaches for the second one. b is already gesturing and trying to form an excuse that’s not quite making it out of mouth.
it’s a cat collar tag. a little silver heart with a rhinestone in it that says “Bonks.”
the world must be ending if the “beast” got a nicer gift than him. well. sorta.
“i was gonna wrap it but then i just.... decided i didn’t want to anymore.”
x laughs, because it’s funny how that works.
he tells him he should’ve given it to her himself, but he says he didn’t want to get frustrated trying to put it on and end up throwing her out a window or kicking her across the room. so x says he’ll help, just in case.
he keeps not so subtly peeking to see which dread got chopped short while they wrangle her, and b mumbles he did it awhile ago, when he wasn’t sure if he was staying. or if x would want him to stay. just never had the balls to go through with it.
x isn’t entirely sure if he should have. stayed, that is. for his own sake.
but he’s glad he didn’t leave, he tells him. even if it wasn’t the same.
for whatever that was worth.

Fluval Stratum Review: My Results After a Year of Use In Six Planted Tanks! (Best Budget Aquasoil)
Fluval Stratum is one of the most popular aquasoils in the aquarium hobby today. It’s affordable, widely available, and made by a trusted brand. After using Fluval Stratum for over a year across five aquariums and one shrimp jar, I wanted to share my honest experience to help others decide if it’s the right substrate for their tanks. This review is entirely unsponsored, as I purchased all my Fluval Stratum with my own money.
Fluval Stratum is made from volcanic soil sourced from Mount Aso in Japan, offering a mineral-rich base for plants to grow. While Fluval keeps the exact mineral content under wraps, what makes this aquasoil stand out is its cation exchange capacity (CEC). This ability to absorb and hold nutrients from fish waste and other organic matter helps Fluval Stratum provide plants with long-term nutritional support. Although Fluval doesn’t publish the CEC rating, my experience has shown excellent plant growth in tanks using this substrate, suggesting it performs well in this regard.
In addition to nutrient support, Fluval Stratum has a mild buffering effect that can lower the tank’s pH to a neutral or slightly acidic level. However, this effect is temporary and typically fades within a few months. While this might not be ideal for aquarists needing long-term pH stability, it’s helpful in preventing nutrient loss, as CEC capacity decreases in highly acidic soils.
One of Fluval Stratum’s biggest selling points is its affordability. It’s about 25% cheaper than premium aquasoils like ADA Amazonia and is often more accessible, particularly in large bag sizes. While the price is often marketed as being "on sale" online, I’ve found that this is more of a tactic than a genuine discount, as the price tends to remain consistent. Tropica Aquasoil is a close competitor in price, but availability issues in my area make Fluval Stratum the more convenient option.
When adding Fluval Stratum to an aquarium, some cloudiness is to be expected. While some aquarists prefer to rinse it, I find this unnecessary and instead use a simple method to minimize cloudiness: adding the soil directly and diffusing the force of water with tissue paper while filling the tank. In my experience, the cloudiness settles within a few days, and for faster results, a hang-on-back filter with filter floss works wonders. Although some people cap Fluval Stratum with sand or gravel, I’ve found it unnecessary, even in tanks with Corydoras catfish.
My tanks have seen excellent plant growth with Fluval Stratum, ranging from a 40-gallon tank to smaller setups like an 8-gallon cube and a shrimp jar. While I’ve occasionally dealt with nutrient imbalances caused by fast-growing plants or potassium deficiencies, these issues are not specific to Fluval Stratum. Across all setups, plants like Java Fern, Echinodorus, and various stem plants have grown well.
Fluval Stratum is also safe for shrimp and snails as long as the tank is fully cycled before introducing them. The substrate’s buffering effect diminishes after a few weeks, reducing the risk of pH swings. While some snails, like blue ramshorns, may struggle to move across the substrate, most others, including nerites, have no trouble navigating it.
Overall, Fluval Stratum is a reliable and affordable choice for aquascapers and shrimp keepers alike. It offers excellent plant growth, long-term nutrient support, and compatibility with most invertebrates. While I plan to focus on dirted tanks in the future due to personal preference, I still recommend Fluval Stratum to anyone looking for a high-quality aquasoil.
If you’ve used Fluval Stratum or have any questions, feel free to leave a comment. Don’t forget to like and subscribe for more aquarium content. Thanks for watching!

I can't answer this in the tags. I always carry a bag and it has at a minimum my wallet, phone, tissues, ventolin, housekeys, handsan, lip balm, glasses case (I wear prescription glasses, also sunglasses). Usually bus card also. My daily carry is a medium sized bag with the above, also small first aid kit, wet wipes, water bottle (I live in a hot climate), travel sickness sweets, small tube of hand lotion, liquid hand soap, rice paper face blotters, spare masks (three, because I have two kids who need different sizes also my own), ziplock of tampons, pads and small dog waste bags in case of emergency disposal, nylon reusable shopping bag, small sewing kit, spare headphones, ear plugs, the case with my Patreon's business cards in it, wireless headphones, spare hair ties, small hair clip, small zip case containing small pack of pencils, liquid ink pen, mechanical pencil, eraser, sharpener and small number of plain white memo cards, small notebook, plus whatever book I'm reading OR crochet project I feel needs extra time. I think I might also have a small jigsaw puzzle from a Christmas cracker in there, and I keep small party favour sized bottles of bubble mix in there too sometimes, and tend to collect stickers. Bag also has a few safety pins and carabiners on it for decoration, and I chain my bus card to the bag with a wallet chain so, you know, there's a lot going on with it. Unsurprisingly, I'm often the first point of call among friends and family if you need An Thing at an event. I also tend to attract small children, word gets around that I generally have something interesting in my bag and I can generally bribe kids when needed. My large carry is all of the above in a leather backpack, but varies depending on the event. I go to markets with this bigger bag so there's usually a lot of cotton shopping bags in there to make up the difference for space. It also tends to have a small pencil case with a variety of pens in it instead of the small case. I don't drive and have kids, so if we need a Thing I need to have it in my bag. If you drive I can see why no bag might be easier, especially if you have odds and ends in your glove compartment or boot or whatever. But I like to be very self contained. I also have multiples of everything except my wallet, glasses and house keys. All three bags I use regularly have their own tissues, soap, lip balm and hand san. I have two small first aid kits - they're the size of a cassette tape or thereabouts, nothing fancy, but very useful. All I need to move between bags are those three things. If I were a richer woman I'd probably get multiple sets of glasses for each bag, too.
wait do you guys actually carry purses/bags everywhere you go i really need to know

The Great British Hamper Debate: DIY vs. Pre-Made for a Merry Christmas
Christmas in the UK is synonymous with festive cheer, family gatherings, and, of course, the exchanging of gifts. Among the most appreciated presents are beautifully crafted Christmas hampers, overflowing with treats and delights. But amidst the festive flurry, a crucial decision must be made: DIY or pre-made? This in-depth comparison examines the pros and cons of both approaches, offering a realistic budget breakdown and helping you choose the perfect method for your Christmas gifting needs. We'll consider everything from time constraints and cost-effectiveness to the level of personalization achievable with each method.
The market for Christmas Gift Baskets UK explodes during the holiday season. Retailers showcase an array of options catering to every budget and taste. From traditional festive treats to gourmet selections, the choice can feel overwhelming. However, before you dive into the online shopping frenzy, consider the alternative: creating your own hamper. This option allows for ultimate personalization, reflecting the recipient's unique preferences and creating a truly bespoke gift. But the DIY route demands a significant time commitment, careful planning, and a degree of crafting skill. Let's examine each approach's considerations in more detail.
For businesses, the annual task of corporate gifting demands careful strategy. Selecting the ideal gift showcases appreciation for clients and employees while reflecting positively on the company’s brand. Corporate Christmas Gift Baskets UK present an excellent option, offering a universally appreciated and visually appealing gift. However, the decision between creating these hampers in-house versus purchasing pre-made hampers necessitates a detailed cost-benefit analysis. This includes assessing the time commitment involved in assembling multiple hampers, the potential for inconsistency in presentation across different gifts, and the overall impact on the business budget.
In today's connected world, sending gifts across geographical distances is increasingly common. The ability to Send Luxury Gift Baskets to UK addresses seamlessly streamlines the process, especially helpful during the demanding holiday season. Online retailers specializing in luxury hampers offer secure and reliable delivery services, ensuring that your gift arrives in perfect condition, even across long distances. This convenience is particularly appealing for individuals or businesses with clients or employees spread across the UK or even internationally. But, again, this convenience translates into a cost that requires careful consideration alongside the alternative of DIY.
The allure of premium ingredients and elegant presentation drives the demand for higher-quality Christmas gifts. Christmas Chocolates and Gifts UK and their luxury counterparts are sought-after by those seeking a more sophisticated gifting experience. Gourmet chocolates, fine wines, artisanal cheeses, and other specialty items transform a traditional hamper into a luxurious indulgence. This segment highlights the crucial differences between DIY and pre-made hampers even more sharply. The time and expertise required to source premium items and create a truly luxurious presentation can be considerable, making a pre-made hamper a more practical and potentially cost-effective choice.
Budget Breakdown (DIY):
Basket/Container: £5 - £30 (depending on size, material, and aesthetic appeal)
Filling Materials: £5 - £20 (tissue paper, wood shavings, decorative elements)
Gift Items: This is the most variable cost. Budget £25 - £200+ (depending on items: gourmet food, chocolates, wines, personalized gifts, etc.)
Ribbon & Packaging: £5 - £15 (decorative ribbons, cellophane wrapping)
Shipping (if applicable): £10 - £40+ (significantly influenced by size, weight, and delivery service)
Total Estimated Cost (DIY): £50 - £270+ (a wide range reflecting the variable nature of the gift contents and shipping)
Budget Breakdown (Pre-Made):
Hamper Cost: £35 - £250+ (prices vary greatly depending on vendor, contents, and luxury level)
Shipping: Often included, but could range from £7 - £25+ (consider additional charges for expedited delivery or insurance)
Optional Add-ons: Personalized messages, gift wrapping upgrades, expedited shipping, all add to the cost.
Total Estimated Cost (Pre-Made): £40 - £275+ (price range influenced by hamper choice and additional extras)
DIY vs. Pre-Made: A Comparative Analysis
Feature
DIY
Pre-Made
Cost
Potentially lower, but highly variable
Generally higher, but more predictable
Time Commitment
Significantly more time-consuming
Convenient and time-saving
Personalization
Highly customizable
Limited customization, though some companies offer options
Presentation
Variable, depends heavily on skill
Typically professional and consistent
Stress Level
Potentially high due to logistical challenges
Lower stress; less hands-on effort
Shipping
Requires self-handling of shipping
Handled by the retailer
Choosing the Right Option for You
The best option for you will depend on your particular situation:
Budget: DIY potentially saves money, but pre-made offers predictable pricing.
Time Constraints: Pre-made hampers are significantly more time-efficient.
Crafting Skills: Lack of crafting skills suggests purchasing a pre-made hamper.
Personalization: DIY provides the greatest level of customization.
Presentation: Pre-made hampers ypically offer a superior presentation.
The decision to DIY or purchase a pre-made Christmas hamper is a personal one, dependent on individual priorities and resources. Both approaches offer valid advantages. For a stress-free and beautifully presented option, consider the exquisite range of hampers available from Brezze Gifts. For those with time and crafting skills, a DIY hamper allows for complete creative control. By carefully weighing the pros and cons, you can select the perfect method to ensure your Christmas gifting is both memorable and enjoyable.
